The Common Room was quiet on this particular evening as Viovinnia sat in the corner of the dungeon in one of the black leather arm chairs, a book on Arithmancy in her hands. Most people were not a fan of the subject, therefore wouldn't be caught reading a book for leisure. Viovinnia, however, only read books for education. She didn't have the patience to read fiction novels. But Vi enjoyed furthering her education on her own time, and the only way to do that was reading textbooks in her free time. Luckily, the Common Room was quiet enough for her to concentration tonight.
Since arriving at Hogwarts just a few months ago, Vi had found that the Common Room was rarely quiet and peaceful enough to study her subjects. She often spent her nights after dinner in an empty classroom either reading or training, usually transfiguring desks or chairs into targets to train with. Viovinnia had been raised to fight both with a wand and physically, and was left stronger than one's typical sixteen year old girl. Because of this she was not to be underestimated. Not only was she a strong fighter, but she had grown up to keep her emotions in tact. She was usually seen with a detached, bored look on her face. She often didn't care about anything else to show emotion. Which was the exact case now as she lounged on the chair, leaning her head onto her left palm with her right hand holding the book open. she decided she would stay right here until she got tired enough to go to sleep.

It was one of the few days she could get some peace and quiet to herself. Cassidy could only hope the common room wasn't occupied by anyone today. Quidditch practice had been a little bit more tough today and all she wanted to do was to curl into her blankets and sleep and then probably wake up early to finish up whatever homework she had yet to complete. Upon reaching her destination, she uttered the password as she usually did every day and proceeded down the passage, making her way into the common room. It was rather quiet, she noted, even more than usual. The only things she heard were the sound of flames licking at the firewood, as well as the flipping of a book. Cass raised an eyebrow, taking note of the silhouette of someone seated comfortably on a chair. She moved closer and realised it was the new girl and she seemed to be studying. "Arithmancy?" Cass commented, lowering her volume a little. "That's a relatively difficult subject. You're probably one of the few whom I know shows actual interest in it."@vi ■ yay for first meetings!

Viovinnia had just turned the page to begin reading about how the Ancient Greeks used Arithmancy to divine the outcomes of battles when she heard someone speak very close to her. At first, the blonde ignored the voice but then it spoke again. At this, Viovinnia shut her book and set it down in her lap, looking up at the brunette that stood in front of her with a furrowed brow and her eyes pointed into a slight glare. "I'm also probably one of the few intelligent people in this retched school," she said coldly. Who was this girl?
Most of Vi's life she was not introduced to a lot of kindness so now whenever someone approached her with a kind gesture or introduction, Viovinnia would write them off as a weaker being because of it. It was just something that she was unfamiliar with, an emotion that she couldn't empathize with. So she continued to glare at this girl in front of her, whom she just so happened to recognize from the Quidditch team. "You are?" She asked rudely, as if this girl could have done nothing worse than to interrupt her.

Cassidy raised an eyebrow. She didn't recall such titles being given. In fact, this girl was more of a fresh face and she wasn't so kind to let people have their way. Most would think Cass is the kind of person who would prefer to avoid conflict by not letting her know what she really thought. Unfortunately, Cass was not going to let her go so easily. It must have been her dislike towards most Slytherins as well that already had gotten her going. "Really? If that were the case, I'm sure I'd have heard of you a long time ago," mentioned the young Muggleborn. "Fortunately for you, I'd rather not hear of your name any further if you are the definition of those few intelligent people."@vi ■ notes

The blonde scoffed at the girl in front of her, but a hint of a smirk was visible on her lips. "'There is no great genius without some touch of madness,'" she said pointedly. Vi had only been at this school a few short months, her first time in a public school, and she already knew how quickly the rumor mill circulated at this school. There was no doubt that this girl had heard of Vi, but Viovinnia was certain that all the rumors circulating she and her brother were vastly misleading... as they were not two to tango with.
"I understand real intelligence can be intimidating," she said in a mock baby voice, jutting out her bottom lip to further mock the brunette. "But at least show some try. I'm going to ask again," she raised her chin at the girl, preparing herself to talk very slowly. "Who... are... you?" Maybe that would be slow enough for the girl to hear.
@casspollexfen ooc: Vi is so mean. >.<

“Cassidy,” replied the young Muggleborn, noting that the other girl had inquired again in a slower manner, as though she were a deaf child. “and I’m going to ask you the same question, smartie pants. Who… are… you?”It might have been mocking, but Cass felt that there was a need to let people know she was not someone to be trifled with either. Despite her blood heritage, she was still human and Cass needed to make it clear that she had a backbone. Cass chuckled inwardly. "Really, couldn't you be at least a little nicer?" @vi ■ sorry it's short i'm sleepy

Viovinnia's eyes narrowed when the girl openly mocked her. Who exactly did this girl think she was? Vi finally stood up so that she stood a few inches taller than the brunette, raising her chin slightly higher. "I am someone you shouldn't be mocking," she said harshly with a threatening tone. Viovinnia didn't know who this girl was, being new to the school and all, but she was not making her way onto Vi's good list any time soon.
Vi turned back around and grabbed her book and her school bag on the floor next to the chair before turning back around. "Nice isn't in my vocabulary. Especially to someone who doesn't know how to take a hint and go away," she said, moving close to Cassidy's face once again. Vi was stronger than most girls her age, intimidating. She had been raised her whole life to not only be skilled in wand combat but physical combat as well. She had gone up against opponents larger than herself, so she certainly wasn't afraid of a small brunette fifth year.

"I do get the hint," Cass gave a knowing smile. She was well aware what this girl was trying to say to her, but that vanished within another second. This girl clearly had no one who had been nice to her, but with the way she treated everyone, it was clear indication of how she saw herself. "But that's not how you talk to people," she continued, staring at the girl with the same level of intensity as she did, maybe even more because she abhors people such as herself. "I'm just making it very clear to you: I'm not someone to be trifled with either. You're very intimidating, I'll give you that, but that does not mean I'll give into the likes of you. Whoever does that must be morons."Inwardly cursing the girl, she decided to finally to leave the girl alone, retreating into her own dorm, after which she let out an exasperated sigh: this is why she was biased against girls. @vi ■ my cass muse went kaboom

For a moment, Vi thought that the girl was going to finally go away but then she went and kept on talking. She rolled her eyes as the girl attempted to scold her on how to talk to people. It was true that Vi had not spent much time around people other than her family and personal trainer growing up, but she knew herself and was comfortable in her not liking others that much. Hence her always callous attitude.
A sarcastic smirk appeared, spreading across Vi's face. "I'll remember that," she feigned fear and jutted out her bottom lip in a mock pout. "And you remember you just made yourself a nice new friend." Her smirk was wicked, threatening. And as the fifth year girl retreated, Viovinnia found herself ready and almost looking forward to the next time she would run into the pestering fifth year. She would be ready.
@casspollexfen ooooh Girl, I see a wicked rivalry in our future.
