Ondina couldn't sleep.
She'd laid in that hospital bed for what felt like hours, staring up at the ceiling. The Hospital Wing was mostly empty now, just her and a few others that had been more seriously injured in the explosion. That wasn't what kept her awake though. No. It was the fact that Cassius was still in his office. She'd discovered quickly that she was occupying the closest bed to the room. And while the door was closed, so no lights could be seen, she knew he was in there. It was almost like.... a sixth sense. And it was driving her absolutely mad.
Her wrist, the spot on her back, everywhere he'd touched her during the day as a routine examination burned. After Scorpius had left, Cassius had kept up the charade of being nothing more then a healer to her all day. And every time he'd done it, she'd felt an angry fire searing inside her chest. And now just the mere thought of him awakened the angry beast. Never before had someone made her feel like this.
Knowing she'd never get to sleep, she quietly slipped out of the bed, her bare feet chilled by the cold stone floors. She didn't make a sound though as she tiptoed to his office, keeping a watchful eye out in case she was seen. No one spotted her though, all the curtains drawn shut to allow the students some privacy during the night. With that same cat like grace, she turned the knob on the door and slipped inside, shutting it quickly behind her.
And there he was, sitting at the desk with a mountain of books and paperwork in front of him. "Why are you still up?" She softly asked, unable to speak any louder out of fear it would break the stillness of the night.

Cassius was acutely aware that Ondina was awake. He couldn't sleep, therefore he assumed that she couldn't either. His heart beat harshly against his chest almost to the point of pain. He had always been aware of her. Ever since his third year when she slipped into the Great Hall with the other first years. He felt a pang of disappointment when she was placed in Slytherin, but wasn't surprised either. Even though he didn't even know her, he knew that she belonged there. And now, she was always there, in the back of his mind. Ever since that kiss though, his obsession had only gotten worse. He felt sick at the thought of letting her go back to Scorpius after all this was over. The horrible thought of not letting her heal as fast as she could even crossed his mind, but he wouldn't do that to her. So, here he was wide awake and entertaining himself by reading medical journals, not really taking in any of the words. Cassius was a book nerd at heart, not that he would ever admit to that. Chase was one of the few people who knew this truth. And now, Ondina would. He knew she was opening the door before he saw her. As his doorknob turned, he knew it was her. He didn't stand, however, and tried to stay nonchalant as she slipped in and shut the door, asking why he was still up. Her voice was soft, which was unbelievably endearing. He smiled at her, slowly standing as he answered. "Don't you wonder when I make time to stay so smart?"

Ondina knew the moment she spotted him at his desk that he'd been trying to stay busy... and failing. He was putting up a good show of it though, a perfect example of a dedicated healer. But when he looked up and met her gaze, she knew. Knew that, just like her, he couldn't sleep.
There had always been a deep connection between the two. Ever since she'd met him first year. They hadn't been friends during their schooling years though, hadn't really interacted. But that connection had always been there. When he'd returned to the school as a healer, it had finally given them a chance to really get to know each other, and that connection only grew stronger... Until he'd kissed her. That simple act had changed everything. Everything.
She didn't move at first as he spoke, rising from his chair in the same breath. Instead, she just leaned against the door, her hands behind her back as she cocked her head to the side, her own smile responding to his own. "You're very dedicated" She finally spoke, her comment a silent jab at his being to dedicated at times. "With how busy it was today, I'd figure you'd be exhausted."

She wasn't stupid, Cass could always give her that. She knew what looked good on her, and that little act of innocence and subtle hinting she was putting on? It looked good on her. "Awe, yes," he commented, keeping a hand gently on the desk and he stepped around it, slowly making his way out into the open. It was safer, much safer, for the desk to be in between them. But Cassius wasn't planning on playing it safe. He had been doing that for too long. He caught his breath as he came around the front, leaning slightly back against the table as he arrived. "And I told you to get some rest, didn't I?" he said with a gentle smirk. He took another deep breath, reaching his hand back- without looking- to grip his wand. He brought it forward gently spinning it around in his fingers. Ondina Nell Weasley

Cassius had slowly, almost casually, stepped around the desk. So that the only thing between them was.. nothing. Just empty space. Waiting for one of them to cross the invisible line that had suddenly been drawn.
Why was she here? Being unable to sleep didn't seem like a good enough reason, and not entirely honest. Yes, she couldn't sleep. But there was plenty she could do to fix that. Instead, she'd come here. To the man that made her heart race by the mere sight of him. Not only that, she had a boyfriend. He didn't exist here though.
"You did." She replied quickly, that smile never wavering... Though it turned a little impish right before she continued. "But I've never been good at following orders." She tried to ignore the fact that he now had his wand in hand, twirling it between his fingers. He'd caught her curiosity though. Why did he need that?

"No, I'm afraid you haven't," he agreed, sighing dramatically. He lifted his wand slowly, gracefully, pointing it in her direction, "I could always make you, though." His own grin grew sly as well as he made the comment, almost in a threatening way. Obviously he didn't mean that he'd ever actually hurt her to get anything from her, no. But it was a fun little game they were playing and he didn't mind letting his dark side show a little bit. Very few people saw that side of him, even the little baddie group he had recently joined forces with.
Cass didn't make another move, not yet as he waited for a response from her. As much as Cass enjoyed the drumroll, he wasn't sure how much longer he could stand the few feet of distances between them. His mind flickered for a moment to how bad of an idea this was, indulging in all this. But his smile only grew at the thought. Wasn't this exactly what he liked? The promise of chaos? The inevitability of their little secret getting out? It was addicting, exciting... it was just so Cass.
Finally, he acted, "Accio Ondina," he whispered.

Ondina couldn't help but draw a shaky breath at the tone he'd used. It sent a chill up her spine, thrilling, terrifying... Immediately there was an overwhelming desire to hear it again. To finally see that darker side of Cassius she'd always known was lurking beneath the surface... "You could try." She slowly and carefully stated after regaining her composure. Her gaze never wavered from him, waiting for his reaction, a teasing and absolutely wicked look in her eyes. She still hadn't moved though, her hands still clasped behind her back. She was... waiting? Patiently. To see what he would do. Would he shoo her off like he usually did when the air started to get this thick between them? Or would he welcome it, for once. Would he finally admit, and not just in the heat of a moment, that they were drawn to each other?
There was a sort of... tension between them. Both waiting to see who's patience and self control would snap first. If it was him all her concerns and doubts would be forever put to rest. So, she just met his green gaze with her own, silently daring him to act. To put an end to this game they were playing. And then... he finally broke, giving in.
Ondina hadn't known the summoning spell could work on living beings.
At least, she hadn't until she felt her body move against her will. It was only a few feet, but the sensation was... thrilling. It was almost like that connection between them was physically pulling her right into Cassius' awaiting arms. She didn't resist, tucking her arms into the little space between them as she now looked up at him. That smirk was smaller, but no less mischievous. "It looks like you actually can make me." She breathed as she rose a little on her toes to close what little distance there now was, bringing her lips to his.
They'd finally crossed that line. The one they'd been so cautiously dancing around all year. And Ondina wasn't going to turn back.

Cassius was almost surprised that the spell had worked and Ondina was suddenly in his arms. In the shock and excitement of her being so close to him, Cassius wand fell out of his hand and onto the ground with a soft clatter. He placed his wand hand at the small of her back, holding her prisoner in his arms. As she closed the slight distance between his her lips and his, Cassius's heartbeat suddenly slowed. His breath caught in his throat, his eyes closing and his other hand wrapping around her shoulders to pull her fragile body even closer. He was surprisingly gentle as he lifted her slightly off the ground, anchoring her body against his. In an instant he was back in red and gold, walking past her in the hallways watching her laugh in the arms of Scorpius Malfoy. He could feel Chase's elbow nudging his side, making some comment in his ear about it. He could feel their shoulders brushing, catching her eye. He could see it even then, the dark chaotic mind that was threatening to burst out of her eyes at any second. He wondered if anyone else saw it, but secretly knew that no one else could. It was his own little secret, his and hers. And now he could break it out, break out the fiery creature he could always see in those eyes. Finally, he pulled his lips away from her with reluctance. His eyes stayed close as he spoke, "this is a bad idea," and he obviously didn't mean a word. Ondina Nell Weasley

Ondina was trapped in his arms. As they'd wrapped around her, she knew he wouldn't be letting go. Rather then feeling imprisoned by her confinement, she felt... free? She couldn't describe the feeling, just that she knew she wanted to stay in his arms. Like.... she belonged there.
But the embrace was nothing compared to kissing him. It was gentle, as if both were hesitate to go any farther. But, for as gentle as it was, it was electrifying. It didn't make her forget about everything else. Instead, it seemed to heighten her senses. His firm grip on her shoulders, the warm clasp around the small of her back, the shortness of his breath and steady heartbeat... She never wanted this moment to end.
It did though, Cassius being the first to pull away, but only just. His warm breath caressed her cheeks as she slowly opened her eyes, staring up at his still expression. Carefully she freed her arms from between them. One rested on his own arm, her fingers lightly brushing his bicep while the other gently wrapped around the back of his neck. "Sometimes bad ideas are the best ones." she softly muttered, wanting desperately to kiss him again. She restrained herself though. She'd made her decision, and made it quite clear. It was now his turn to decide. Would he finally give in? Or pull away?

"Sometimes bad ideas are the best ones."So, here it was. The moment he had been thinking about for years. The moment when he was to decide if he was going to go through with this. If he was going to bring the blonde girl into his arms, into his life, into his chaos... He wanted to, he knew that. He had wanted to for so long. But then he got the job, and she had always been with someone else, and that idea just had to fade away.At least, he tried to fade it away. Then he was assigned to be her personal nurse due to all of her health issues and he had to see her all the time. He loved those moments-- the subtle and sharp feelings that always crept in whenever she was there. She was a student and he was staff which made this even more complicated than it had ever been. Even more chaotic. Well, Cass always loved chaos. He tightened his grip on her suddenly, lifting her off the ground in one fell swoop to spin around and place her on the desk that he had been leaning on only a moment ago. "Bad ideas are always the best ones." he agreed, bringing his lips to hers and pulling her closer, as close as he possibly could. He was careful though. She had been injured and was so tiny. He was forceful, yet gentle. He kissed her lips, then his own lips moved to her jawbone, her neck, her shoulder. He pulled back in order to brush her hair aside before kissing her again. He gave in.
Ondina saw it in his eyes and the way he tightened his grip. He didn't have to say anything, she knew. He was going to let this, let them happen. Even though they both knew it wasn't right, even though they both knew there would be a lot of trouble if anyone found out. And honestly? Ondina didn't care. In this moment, she didn't care that she had a committed boyfriend, or that he was a staff member and she a student. Heck, she didn't even care that this was probably the most inappropriate time to kiss, seeing as it had only been a day and a half since the explosion. Because in this very moment? There was only her and him. The man she'd wanted for so long, finally hers. Reality would return, but not yet.
She was, quite literally, swept off her feet, before being set on the desk. As he spoke, she slowly grinned triumphantly. "Always." She agreed, all she had time to say before he pulled her closer, his lips finding hers once again. The kiss was rougher then before, more sure and possessive. Ever the gentleman though, he was cautious, as if he might break her. Well, he'd learn quickly that, despite her medical problems, she was not a delicate flower. She pressed harder against his lips, trying to overpower his own caution and gentleness. Both hands had found their way to his neck, one wrapped around the back to keep him as close as possible while the other was in his hair, her fingers tangling in his dark locks. She'd always wanted to run her fingers though that raven black hair of his. But then he moved, his lips trailing down her neck and shoulder. She let out a soft sigh. There was something about him. The way he kissed her, that intense look in his eyes, how he held her close... It felt dangerous. Dangerous, terrifying, exhilarating, and breath taking. No, there was a better word.
Chaotic.

Cassius's ability to use caution was shattered as soon as she made it clear that it wasn't necessary. He tightened his own grip around her waist with one arm, while his other clasped at her waistline. He let out a low sigh with a hint of vocals as she tangled her fingers through his hair. He felt himself chuckle against her lips as this continued. The kissing, the sighing, the pulling, the pushing, the passion. He found himself silently thanking someone, anyone, that this was finally happening. That he was finally holding her in his arms and seeing the dark side of her, seeing the beast within. He wanted more of it. He wanted to never stop. He wanted her to stay there with him all night, all day, forever even. But even Cassius knew that wasn't possible. Still, he let this continue. He didn't watch the time. He didn't care to. He didn't even care if the sun rose right now and someone came bursting in on them. Only one thing was on his mind and that was herHe knew from this moment on that this was going to be everything he ever wanted it to be and probably more. After who knows how long he pulled away from her just enough to look into her eyes. He smirked, "it's going to be a long year," he said before he was right back at it again, kissing her as though they had never kissed before. The same hunger, the same desire, the same excitement of the anticipation... He was never going to get bored with this one. Ondina Nell Weasley (le end)
