he sat in the tea house and glanced around. thank goodness it wasn't covered in pink hearts. it had been the last time he'd been in this tea house. it had been a valentines day and he had brought hermione and they had both had a horribly good time. he smiled a litte at the memory and rested his chin on his hand as he waited for his daughter. he had sent her an owl the day before, asking for her to meet him in the small town so he could touch base with her and make sure she was okay. he'd sent both his kids on average an owl a day since the kidnappings at the school and the explosion of the astronomy tower, worrying if he hadn't heard back within a few hours he knew he'd been a tad obsessive in writing to them but he'd been worried and since he was working on trying to find the missing students and work out if it was going to happen again or if something else was. it was enough to drive a person to insanity. he glanced up at the door opened and he smiled a little and moved to stand up to greet his girl as she walked in. "hello rosie"

Rose had received an owl the previous day from her father, which wasn't out of the usual considering all that had been going on but this owl was a request to meet in Hogsmeade at Madame Puddifoot's. Rose was elated at the idea to spend some time with her father. The two had always been close and Rose was thankful for such a relationship. Rose never really had taken the time to stop and think about how lucky she was to have a family that cared so much for one another, and had close relationships like hers did. She had an extra pip in her step as she walked through the village of Hogsmeade today.
Finally, the Ravenclaw reached the small tea house and the bell above the door gave a little ding as she entered. She looked around the small room and a smile spread across her face at the familiar glimpse of the red hair of her father. Rose practically skipped up to him and wrapped her arms around him in a long overdue hug. She hadn't seen him since the holidays. "Hello, dad," she greeted him happily. After greeting her father, she moved to sit down at the table he had got for them and she sat up straight in her chair. "I'm so glad you owled me!"

"Hello, dad," he hugged his little girl tightly. he missed her so much while she was at school. hugo too, he missed them both more than he would ever be able to put into words. he held her tight for an extra long moment before allowing her to step away from his arms and he smiled at her, reached to touch her cheek. "i swear you've grown" he said, which it was more than possible. it had been a while since he had been able to get to the school. he wasn't one of the auror's on rotation at the moment and he didn't think he'd be put onto it, harry knew him too well to ever put him in charge of something at the school. "I'm so glad you owled me!" he smiled as he moved to sit back at the table and he nodded a little. "yes well it was a long overdue owl." not really since he had made sure to keep well in contact with his children in the last year but still, a day without hearing from his children felt like a lifetime for him. "are you hungry? your mother is not here so we're free to make some bad food choices" he said with a joking smile as he perused the menu encase it had changed.

Rose rolled her eyes but smiled as her father commented on her growth. He was such a dad, but he was a dad she wouldn't trade for anything. She loved her father and had always been a little bit more close to him that she had been to her mother, despite her extreme similarities to the latter. There was never a moment that she felt could not be improved by her father's attitude and smile.
Another good thing about her dad? He wasn't nearly as strict as her mother when it came to sweets, so when he mentioned 'bad food choices,' Rose's grin widened. "Oh, am I ever!" She exclaimed happily. She had actually skipped out on food at the castle with the promise of lunch with her dad, for the two always gorged themselves when they were left alone together. "So, how's work?" Rose asked a bit more seriously as she, too, reached for a menu. She knew that with everything going on, it may be a touchy subject but figured it was best to get it out of the way sooner rather than later.

"Oh, am I ever!" he chuckled and nodded a little. he knew both his children took glad at the fact he wasn't strict on healthy eating like their mother. he loved his wife but there were times he had to go behind her back with their children, food was one of those times. he couldn't decide what he wanted to eat. he was hungry, gosh was he hungry and there was so much to choose from. he always had a hard time picking from menus. if there was a buffet then he'd go up and get a bit of everything but picking just a few things was hard. "So, how's work?" he smiled a little and shrugged his shoulders, glancing up from the menu to look at her. his daughter. his pride and joy. it was horrible for him to think he could have lost her during the attacks on hogwarts, he could have lost hugo to and that thought scared him just as much. he hated what was going on. the fact they had fought so hard to stop this from happening when they were their teenagers ages was one of the hardest things to swallow. they had fought so their children wouldn't have to grow up in a world of fear and not knowing like they had and now what were they doing? living exactly that way. "work is work darling. i want to hear all about school" he said with a smile as he looked at her intently.

Rose smiled at her father from behind her own menu now. She set it down, already knowing what she wanted. Rose was honestly expecting a longer explanation about work than the one he gave her so she bit her lip when he turned the question back around to her. It had been exactly what she was trying to avoid and now it had snuck up on her a lot faster than she had initially hoped.
The brunette shrugged as she looked down at the menu that now sat upon the table even though she knew what she wanted. "School is school," she shrugged, answering his question the same way he had answered hers. Ha! She certainly was his daughter. Quickly, she thought of another question to distract him. "So, how is Aunt Ginny? I know she's had a rough year, too," she asked, innocently, finally looking back at her father.
