Odette was back in London. Most of these days she was either out on some expedition at work or she would be staying at an inn somewhere, far too bothered to make the small necessary steps it would take to get back to her flat in London. But sometimes she needed reminded of just how peaceful the evening walk from the Ministry to her flat was. This night was one of the rare ones that Odette enjoyed the evening, walking past strangers on the street that were mostly muggle. Sometimes Odette wondered what it would be like to be one of them... a muggle, like her mother. Odette was thankful for the life she had, but she just had to wonder... being ignorant and unaware of all of the dangers that surrounded the muggles at all times just because of what they were. Her grandparents were muggles and she felt that perhaps if Odette hadn't gone to Hogwarts, maybe her mother would have survived... or she would have somehow been able to protect her. But that was silly talk. Odette was fourteen... there was nothing she could have done.
One of Odette's favorite detours on the way home from work was heading down Shaftesbury Avenue, especially in the evening time when it was at its peak. She would usually just stroll down the street and people-watch as she made her way home. Tonight was no different as she passed the theater and looked up toward the setting sun in the sky, and she was reminded how much of the architecture matched that of Diagon Alley. It was funny how much muggles and wizards actually had in common... aside from the obvious difference being magic. Odette continued her slow stroll down the fairly busy avenue with a content look on her face as she took in the small things and enjoyed it all.

@odette odette. there she was. he's spotted her in the crowd and was making his way over to her. he'd had a long day at work and was in the mood for beer and the company of a good friend but he'd settle for just the company. things were so different from their hogwarts days he could see them all now, sitting around the tables at hogwarts and doing whatever it was him and his friends used to do at school. it was hard to think they were all adults now with jobs of their own and hardly any time to breath let alone catch up with people from days gone by. but it didn't matter, no matter how much time passed they'd still be there. even stooped over their canes with a face full or wrinkles. the thought made him smile as he worked his way through the crowd before he finally caught up to her. since he'd met her in diagon alley a little while ago he'd found that she had invaded his thoughts more and more and the thought of seeing her now warmed him a little. he grinned a little as he moved to wrap his arms around her waist and hugged her tight. "hey you" he said as he kept his arms around her waist and stood there on the side walk with her.

Odette always took these walks alone. It wasn't that she didn't wish she had someone to walk with, but she did like the alone time so she was never one to complain about the solitude. However, the thought of an old friend seemed to come to mind as she continued down the sidewalk. Odette had seen Jacob Harrison only days ago in Diagon Alley by chance after not seeing him since he had left school almost four years before she had. It had been a long time since the two had seen one another yet somehow their reunion fetl as if the two of them had kept up for all those years. The brunette couldn't help but continuing to think of him as she carried on with her walk.
When the Curse Breaker felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist, her eyes widened and her gut told her to go for her wand but then the gentle hug that followed was so familiar to her, she knew who it was before he spoke. Think of the devil and he shall come. A wide grin appeared on her face as she turned her head slightly to see him in her peripherals. "Harrison, you nearly frightened me to death," she pretended to sound like she was scolding him, but she was actually beyond esctatic that he had magically appeared out of nowhere when he had been thinking about him.

@odette "Harrison, you nearly frightened me to death," he grinned as he set her back down on the ground and he moved to let her go, though he found he didn't really want to. he'd been hugging her like that for years but this time felt different. he'd had no trouble letting her go as a kid but now they were adults, it was different. "nearly isn't bad" he said with a grin as he folded his arms over his chest and kept the grin on his face. "doing anything right now?" he asked, wondering if she'd consider coming to get a drink with him and then maybe some food. he'd enjoyed himself the time they'd hung out before.

Odette found that as Jacob set her down, she deeply wanted him to wrap his arms back around her and pick her back up. She caught herself thinking this and felt a small pang of embarrassment at the thought. It was a feeling she had never before felt and they had been friends for years! She was no stranger to those sort of feelings but... something about this one felt so different. When Jacob continued to grin at her, she smiled herself and had to look away for a second. He brought out the biggest smiles in Odette, come to think of it.
Was she doing anything right now? "No!" She found herself responding before she could really even answer the question in her head. The idea of hanging out with Jacob, no matter what they were doing, just sounded so much more fun than anything Odette could or planned to be doing. Who was she to say no? Though, she didn't want to seem so eager. After all, Odette was never the type to act overly eager around her friends. "Why? What are you doing?" She returned the question with a small smile and an eyebrow raised.

@odette "No!" he laughed a little as she seemed eager to let him know that she wasn't busy. the grin that followed was one that would let her know that was just the answer that he had been hoping to hear. spending the evening with her would be something he would enjoy, more than anything else he could think of doing. "Why? What are you doing?" he shrugged a little and raised his hands slightly as he looked around the street they were in. there was so much for them to do, they had a few hours of daylight left and then there were the night hours so it wasn't like they were starved for choice. and they were in london! was there a better place to be with a person? "nothing till now" he said with a grin as he cocked his arm slightly and offered it to her to take. "so how about we go find some trouble, miss greyback?" he said with a grin and he started to head down the sidewalk.

Odette bit her lip a little anxiously, slightly embarrassed still by how quick she had answered but she quickly mirrored the grin he flashed at her. It had been so long since she had last hung out with Jacob, and the idea of doing so now excited her. She looked at his arm as he offered it to her and then looked up at him, smirking. "I would be delighted, Mister Harrison," she responded to him with a slight curtsy.
Looping her arm in his, Odette followed him down the sidewalk. "So," she said with a little sigh. "What is your favorite thing to do here in London?"

@odette "I would be delighted, Mister Harrison," he laughed as she gave him a small curtsey and he rolled his eyed a little. this was what he'd missed rom school. the goofy fun they had all had when thins hadn't been too serious and all they had to worry about was who was friends with who and who was dating who, keeping them all straight and together because it often changed quick. now they all had bigger things to worry about and he at least craved the simplicity of being younger.
though he couldn't even think about changing jobs, there was nothing he'd want to do instead. he tucked her arm close to his side when she slid it through and he looked down at her with a smile. "what is your favorite thing to do here in london?" he pretended to think about what to say and he even tilted his head slightly. "walk down the streets with a pretty woman. does that count?" he said with a chuckle and he patted her hand lightly. "but since i'm doing that .. finding a place to eat would be my next answer."

It surprsised Odette how long one could go without speaking to an old friend and then when they finally saw them again, it was like nothing changed. Such was the case for Jacob, it seemed. Except the fact that the old Hufflepuff she used to know went on to become some kick-butt hit wizard. Which, she had to admit, was a very attractive profession on him. She shouldn't have been as surprised as she was that he went on to have some big, bad job. It suited him well.
When Jacob tucked her arm closer to him, Odette bit her lip again to hide the grin she was trying to hold back. She couldn't remember the last time someone gave her butterflies and made her feel the way Jacob was making her feel. When he answered her, her eyes widened in surprise just a little and after he patted her hand, she gave him a playful punch on his arm to hide how bashful the comment made her felt, but of course she couldn't hide her excitement after he said it. She let out a little laugh along with his. "That's the answer I was looking for!" She joked, looking up at him with a wide smile. "So then, take me to your favorite place in all of London!" She gestured with her free arm to the street surrounding them for dramatic affect.

@odette "That's the answer I was looking for! So then, take me to your favorite place in all of London!" he grinned as he kept his arm tucked around hers as they walked down the path. his favorite place? he had a few really but the one they were closest to was at the top of his list. it had been a place he'd gone to with his parents when he'd been younger, though just once or twice but it always stuck in his head and whenever he found himself in london it was always a place he went. no matter the time or the weather. he nodded his head a little. "okay, i'll take you but you have to close your eyes till we get there, okay?" he said to her and he looked at her with a look that asked her to trust him.
he's taking her to the peter pan statue <3

Odette could not help but smile widely to herself as she walked, arm in arm, down the street with Jacob. As they did, it was something she realized she never knew she had wanted... to walk arm in arm with someone that she cared about. And that someone was Jacob. Sure, they had always been friends and Odette had always found herself particularly fond of his blonde hair and goofy attitude but... she had never realized that the feelings she felt were so deeply rooted. It took walking down the street for her to realize that he was what she had always wanted.
The excitement within Odette was building, and she didn't realize that either until he asked her to close her eyes. She raised a jokingly suspicious eyebrow at him. "You promise you won't leade me off into a pond or something?" She joked. She let out a small laugh before shutting her eyes tightly. She trusted Jacob deeply. And hey, even if he did lead her off to some pond... as long as it was his favorite spot and he was there, Odette figured even that wouldn't be so bad.

@odette "You promise you won't leade me off into a pond or something?" jake laughed as they walked down the path, making their way to his favorite place in all of london. it was a little cheesy maybe and he knew that a lot of other people loved it too but there was something about the statue that always appealed to him. he'd first heard the story in his teens, someone at hogwarts had told him about it and he'd gone to see the statue for the first time just a little after that. his parents had taken him after he'd pretty much begged. "i won't, i promise" he said lightly as they finally reached their destination. he stopped just before the statue and glanced around. there was flowers still with heads on and the sun was just starting to set so it cast a nice orange like glow over the park. "okay, open your eyes".

For one of the very first times... Odette could feel her heart threatening to pound out of her chest. She had never allowed herself to be so open or vulnerable with a person before but with Jacob it all seemed to happen so naturally. He was, after all, one of her very good friends so she got to actually be herself.
When Jacob told her to open her eyes, Odette did so and as she looked up, a warm feeling overcame her. In front of them was a statue, one that could be easily recognized by anyone who grew up with fairytale stories. A smile spread across her lips and she slowly turned to look up at Jacob. "Peter Pan?" She raised an eyebrow at him playfully as she questioned him.

@odette "Peter Pan?" he laughed as he nodded and looked back at the statue. it had been his favourite for as long as he could remember. it was his favourite story too. he had often wished when he'd been growing up that places like neverland actually existed. that there was some magical world different than their own behind the second star to the right. "of course peter pan!" he said with a laugh and he looked back at her. "didn't you ever wish you didn't have to grow up?"

Odette could vividly remember fairytales that her mother would tell her growing up, and Peter Pan had always been one of her favorites. She was glad to see that Jacob seemed to also love him. Her face lit up at Jacob's response but then settled into a much more sober looking smile. She tilted her head as she looked up at the statue. "More than once," she nodded slowly. What kid didn't wish to never grow up? Odette was certain it crossed the mind of every child. But did it cross the mind of every twenty-one year old? Probably not as often. Though, with everything going on in her life lately, Odette had wished that a few times recently herself. "Heh, sometimes I still wish that." She laughed softly.
