With summer vacation now underway, you'd think that Grace would drop her obsession with school. That she might act like a normal teenager for at last 2 months out of the year. But Grace had never been 'normal' in that regard. As far back as she could remember, Grace had been obsessed with learning. She was borrowing Hadni's books every chance she got, even after she'd started school herself. So summer for Grace usually consisted of three things. First, locking herself away in her room like a hermit and read. Second, being forced out of her room by her parents and usually to the orphanage if she couldn't come up with a friend to go hang out with. And third? Every Friday night her dad and brothers went out for a night out, so she, her mom, and Hadni had a girl's night. Unfortunately, there was an emergency at the Orphanage, and her mother needed to leave to go sort things out.
Grace sat in the kitchen, arms spread out in front of her and chin on the table. She was watching her mother finished gathering up her purse and headed for the door. "Supper is in the oven, it will be done in half an hour. Don't forget to take it out." She pointed at Grace then, to which she only raised an eyebrow, silently asking why she was being accused of forgetting anything. It got a smile from her mother, and she planted a kiss on her forehead. "I'll be back as soon as I can. You girls have fun."
It was only a few minutes until the kitchen door opened again and Hadni walked in. "Mum had to go to work. Just us tonight." Greetings weren't really Grace's thing.

Hadni didn’t live at her parents house but she spent most of the summer there because her siblings were in from school. She had arrived two nights ago with some overnight things and settled into her room, as she did every summer. She had woken from a nap only moments ago, not knowing what time it was and not really caring. When it was off season she never kept track of the time. She stepped into the kitchen to find Grace oddly spread over the table, though that wasn’t really surprising.
Hadni smiled, crossing to open the cupboards in search of something to eat. ”All right, perfect,” she said as Grace announced it would be just them tonight. ”Maybe I can convince you to put the books down for fifteen minutes and we could do something fun,” she turned back to stick a tongue out at her little half sister. Always the teaser, Hadni.
@grace (I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS)

Grace didn't move as Hadni started to rummage through the cupboards. Instead, she just watched her. She was a bit of a starer, to no one's surprise. She liked to watch, and learn. Her family was used to the staring, so it was possible Hadni wouldn't even notice it. "In the oven." she finally stated before Hadni found anything to eat. The time was set to go off in 28 minutes.
At the books joke, Grace's eyebrows raised again. Still she didn't move from the strange arm sprawl on the table. "I haven't had a book out for fifteen minutes already." A rare feat, to be honest. But considering her mother had magically locked her bedroom door before leaving it wasn't to surprising. Their mother knew Grace would be a hermit if given the chance... So she took away the chance. She had seriously considering going to the Twins' room though and taking one of their books though. With a sigh, Grace finally sat up, stretching before sitting normally and, again, staring at her sister. Intensely staring. "Like what?"
@hadni (bahaha, Grace is so serious that it comes off as awkward.)

Hadni turned to face the oven at her sisters words and say the timer. She sighed, moving to turn back toward Grace. She was still unmoving and seemed to not pick up on the joke. Hadni chuckled at the sight of the stoic girl, almost always unphased. Hadni was a little jealous about that talent of her sisters. Her talent to let things just casually roll away from her if they weren’t useful to her. At least that was the impression Hadni got of Grace.
”Fifteen minutes? That must be why you look so bored over there,” she said, throwing out a hand gesture in her direction. Then Grace finally sat up and asked what they were supposed to do for fun. Hadni shrugged, ”I don’t know! We have plenty of options. We could go out. We could play a game,” Hadni suggested, ”we could make dessert to go with the food?”

"I'm very bored." Grace corrected. No, not just bored. She was out of her mind bored. Again, sneaking into the twins' room once again crossed her mind. Or maybe even seeing if Hadni had brought anything remotely interesting while she spent the summer at home. There was an idea. But likely a lame one. Hadni was a professional quidditch player. What books would she bring with her other then play books? Only when she was desperate had she read those. She'd probably be that desperate in a few hours.
Grace shrugged at her sister's suggestions. "I need more specific options. 'Going out' could involve countless activities. And we have at least a dozen games here alone. As for dessert-" She stopped, and thought. Before a shadow of a smile appeared. "Ice cream? home made ice cream. The kind dad does?" She knew the recipe, having memorized it years ago. And while she herself had no talent in cooking, it wasn't like they could really mess up ice cream, right?

Grace wasvery. Hadni held up her hands in a surrender pose at that. "Oh, well, my mistake," she chuckled, lowering her hands right after speaking. Then Grace shrugged and claimed she need more specific options, which Hadni should have known. Hadni did roll her eyes however, until Grace finally accepted the ice cream option. "Oh! That's a great idea... do you know how to make it?" she asked, realizing that she actually didn't know how to make her stepfathers signature ice cream. "I mean, we can figure it out, of course. And afterwords we could go get manicures and pedicures, maybe? My treat," she suggested, offering a raise of her eyebrow. Granted, that would depend on how long it took them to make the ice cream and considering Hadnis talent in the kitchen was laughable.
