Everyone was okay. There were few casualties after the attack on King's Cross and Teddy was just glad that everyone he cared about was okay. Sure, some were injured and Teddy had initially worried profusely about them but they were all on their way to a speedy recovery. He and Victoire were just leaving the Daily Prophet after a press briefing. Victoire was talking to the reporters and, as always, Teddy was along as part of her guide. It was just the two of them today, though, as the Prophet wasn't far from the Cauldron and that was where they were going to meet up with the others.
Just as the two of them had begun to head out onto the street of Diagon Alley, it began to pour down rain. It had hinted toward such a thing earlier in the day but Teddy had not even thought to bring an umbrella. As the rain began to pelt down upon them, he put his arm gently around Victoire's lower back and led her to an awning over a shop window that would allow them some shelter from the rain briefly before they continued their walk. "Shoulda seen this coming," he commented with a little laugh. It had been cloudy all day. and Teddy felt like a real fool now. But, oh well. He was with Victoire and that was all that mattered to him.

Vic was utterly exhausted, but she was used to that by now. She hadn't even noticed that the clouds were forming overhead. She was too busy being official, making statements, and briefing the press. By the time they stepped back out into the Alley she was about ready for a nap, but they were going to be meeting everyone at the Cauldron, so she decided it was best to try and stay attentive. She hadn't forgotten that sudden feeling she had back at the station that she needed to fire Teddy, she just wasn't sure when the best time to do it was. She was sure that he would be accepting of it, once she gave her reasons. Really she'd ask him to consider resigning so that it wasn't like the Minster firing him was on his permanent employment record. As the rain started to downpour Vic flinches slightly, looking up in surprise. She let Ted put his arm around her back and followed his steering toward the awning. When he spoke she didn't look over just yet, just suppressed a smile as she looked out onto the street. She nodded after a moment and turned to face him, laughing herself, "isn't that kind of your job? To... anticipate my needs?" she laughed again and shook her head. After all the horror that had been happening so far with her time as Minister and even before that, she had always told herself that she didn't need anyone else. In fact, just a few months ago she was sure that taking Teddy as more than just a body guard would have ruined her. Back then, it probably would have. What had changed? When had she shifted from needing to be alone to needing nothing but him?She realized she had been staring at him and gently turned, her eyes downcast. @teddy (OMG HE'S SPIDERMAN!? aaand I know mygif is preemptive but COMEON and i can't wait to use THIS ONE okay i'm done nope not done first kiss status)

Teddy made no effort to hide the small smile that appeared on his face when he looked down and saw Victoire suppressing a smile of her own. The very fact that she had been smiling more around him, despite all that had happened, had Teddy feeling more positive about everything around him. It was like his life was slowly starting to piece itself back together after all of these years and the reason was standing right next to him... with that familiar look of hiding a smile. He had always found this quirk of hers to be so endearing and he was sure he would never not find it adorable.
Ted looked back out to the emptying street, people trying to find their own cover in shops and conjuring umbrellas or shielding charms, and he was still smiling. It was a moment before Victoire responded. Teddy raised an eyebrow at her but still grinned. "That's pretty difficult... you can be extremely unpredictable sometimes," he said with a chuckle. After years of knowing the blonde as well as he did, he felt he knew her better than anyone and it was still hard to anticipate her needs. Victoire had always made it a point to be very independent about a lot of things, too, so there was that also.
There was something within Teddy that wanted to stay put, right there under the awning with Victoire, all dry and warm... but there was an even bigger part of him that wanted to so badly drag her out into the rain and dance around like they would when they were teenagers on the grounds at school. He smiled at the thought and looked down at her. Slowly, Teddy offered up his left hand to her in invitation to dance. "Milady..." He bowed slightly at her. Perhaps some would see them dancing as silly, or a horrendously inappropriate thing for a Minister to do in such a time or turmoil but... Teddy felt that their world needed some childish silliness. Who better to set the example than the Minister herself?
And who better, Teddy though, to do it with than Victoire Weasley?

Vic grinned as he said that she was unpredictable. She knew that, and she could tell that he wasn't actually bitter about it. "Well, the rain is not my doing. That's the skies unpredictability at work," she answered, looking up slightly towards the sky in question. "Guess we're both just trying to trip you up," she added quietly, a mischievous smirk on her face. Sometimes, especially in her job, she forgot how young she really was. She never really made the time to even wish for a moment to act less professional. Right now she found herself begging for one. And then it came. Teddy held his hand out to her and said Milady, giving that small bow and her eyes slightly widened as the memories came pouring in like the rain. Her lip gently curved up into a half smile and she lifted her hand, which seemed so small to her right now, and placed it into his. "Sir," she replied, giving her own slight curtsy. She didn't wait for him to lead, naturally, and tugged on his hand, pulling him out into the street and into the rain. @teddy

The smile on Teddy's face widened at Victoire's words. He was happy that it seemed as if she was letting loose for once. They both had been trying to suppress their past history for so long and ever since that afternoon in her office, Teddy was left feeling a bit more optimistic. Perhaps that was why things now were so different, despite the tragedy that had occurred just days ago. Teddy shrugged, also looking up at the sky a moment. "Yeah. I'm pretty sure you two are conspiring against me. It's like you want me to lose my job!" He smirked, joking of course. He had forgotten how much fun he used to have with Victoire back when... well, back when they were young... younger.
Victoire placed her hand in his and Teddy didn't even have a moment to react to the feeling of it, she had pulled him out of the street and into the rain. He laughed aloud, the happiness swelling inside of him as he fixed his balance and his footing and placed his free hand on Victoire's hip. "I do hope you haven't forgotten to dance," he said, raising an inquiring eyebrow. "That would be quite embarrassing to your reputation if you were caught out here in the rain and you didn't know how to dance." He smirked innocently at her. Everything felt just like it used to.

Vic, of course, didn't comment on his joke about losing his job. He would hear about that soon enough! The sound of his laugh as she pulled him into the street was enough to cause her to laugh as well. Soon they chose a spot to land and he placed a hand on her hip, her placed a hand on his shoulder and holding his other- a classic waltz type pose. At his words, she raised her own eyebrow impressively high. "Edward Remus Lupin. Prepare for the best dance of your life," she said, her voice low and serious before she suddenly pushed him away with her hand on his shoulder and forcing him to do a spin under her arm. She laughed and gently beckoned him back to her, "don't embarrass yourself. Aren't you supposed to lead?" she laughed. Well... then again... she always led, didn't she? @teddy

Teddy was, at first, not even aware that this was probably the closest the two of them had been since... Well, the breakup. All he could focus on was the grin on his face when Victoire placed her hand on his shoulder, accepting his dance. It was no surprise to Teddy whatsoever that Victoire made Teddy spin away and under her arm. Typical Vic, he thought, but he wouldn't have it any other way. We will see about that," he raised a challenging eyebrow at the blonde.
"Oh, I'll lead," Teddy responded, a small smirk appearing on his face as he accepted her challenge. Teddy led the two in a waltz around the empty street in a circle. It seemed as if it were just the two of them out there, the raining pouring down on them. After a moment of waltzing, Teddy slowly dipped Victoire, grinning widely at her (a big smugly, too.) Then... He kept her there a moment, looking down at her. Her hair was just as soaked as his was now from the rain and... She was as beautiful as ever. Teddy's eyes glanced down at her lips, lingering there for a moment and completely forgetting that he still held Victoire up in a dip.
He so badly wanted to kiss her in that moment.

Oh, I'll lead, he said, and Vic let him. She didn't notice the people who had stopped to watch or that there were really any other people at all. The rain was loud in her ears, but not loud enough to drown out her life as they took the waltz steps. When he slowly led her into the dip, she went with it- being the good dance partner that she was- and lifted a foot to point it straight out. She chuckled, looking up at his face and that smug grin that donned on it. Then his eyes flickered to her lips. "You know what?" she said slowly, "I'd rather lead," she said before reaching her hand from his shoulder up to the back of his head and closing the gap between their lips. She kissed him, and suddenly she felt as if a huge weight was lifting off of her. In fact, the intense lightness almost made her dizzy as she kissed him. She gently pushed against him in order to straighten out so that they moved to an upright standing position, but never in that transition did she take her lips away from his for long. @teddy (FIUNALYL()

Teddy had taken a moment to let himself be wrapped up in the thought of kissing Victoire that when she grabbed the back of his head, Teddy's eyes widened briefly in shock and then... their lips met. It took a moment for Teddy to process if it was really happening but then he settled into the kiss and kissed Victoire back, his eyes closing and the passion flowing through him. This was a moment he had only dreamed about for the last four years and now that it was here... Teddy felt whole again.
Teddy followed Victoire's lead as they both transitioned to an upright position, still kissing as the rain fell down upon them. Teddy could feel an extreme swelling in his chest, but it was the best feeling in the world. It was like an unreal happiness that Teddy hadn't felt in so long. As he continued to kiss Victoire, his hand gently holding her cheek, Teddy's usually brown hair began to change it's color... something he had not been able to do since he had broken up with Victoire. The metamorphmagus abilities within the young man had laid dormant for so long following their breakup that Teddy was certain he would never be able to access the emotions needed to tap into those abilities again but as he slowly pulled away from Victoire to smile at her, holding her close, Teddy Lupin's hair was once again the old familiar blue he had always worn it during their years at school. Teddy stood there, one arm still wrapped around Victoire and the other still gently carressing her cheek.
"See? You really are unpredictable."

As he pulled away to smile at her Victoire actually gasped, like some little teenager in a chick flick. After he spoke, she bit her bottom lip and giggled, sliding her hand from the back of his neck up into his blue hair. "I don't know Teddy," she started, her eyes flickering up to his bangs, "you're the one with blue hair." That hair brought so many amazing memories flooding into her mind. When she first realized that he wasn't just like a cousin to her, flirting with him until they finally kissed, dated, and seemingly were to live happily ever after. That night before they broke up, back when she set her responsibilities aside for a moment and just drank in loving him, as if there was nothing else in the world. It was different now, though. Loving him didn't send her reeling into another dimension where nothing else existed. No, now loving him caused her ambition and determination to skyrocket, as if that kiss was enough to make her change the world in a single step, a single breath. She was realizing that with Teddy, with Royal, with her family, with everyone she pushed aside to get to where she was, being with those people would make her rise higher and do better, not fall back and get distracted like she thought. "Teddy," she started softly, another one of those girlish giggles escaping her, "I'm going to have to fire you."@teddy MY LOVE MY ONE AND ONLY

Teddy was smiling at Victoire like a fool until she said the word 'blue.' "Blue!?" His eyes practically crossed until he was looking up toward his forehead at his bangs that were, indeed, blue. Teddy let out a sound that was a half gasp, half laugh. He couldn't believe it. His blue hair just solidified how happy this very moment had made him. This color reminded him so much of so many good times he had had with Victoire. Teddy was beyond happy as he looked back at Victoire, a small and content smile settling on his face. "Well, would you look at that." He pulled her closer to him, certain that he never wanted to let go. Was it still raining? He had no idea.
Teddy's eyebrows rose at Victoire's next words, but his smile showed no signs of leaving his face for even the slightest second. He still stayed close to her though. "Fired? Now, why's that?" He asked with a chuckle. Though Teddy was certain he knew why, he still wanted to hear Victoire say it. If it meant being with her, Teddy would gladly be fired twenty times in a row.

Vic laughed again, tossing her head back for a moment as he reacted to the hair, his eyes practically crossing. She was being pulled closer as she looked back to him, him questioning her reason for saying he was fired. He was still smiling, which was a good sign. It meant he knew where this was going. She shifted her face so it wasn't that big, goofy, twitterpated look anymore. Her eyes were piercing into his now, as if she could say all she wanted to say with just them. Her hands slid down to his shoulders, and she took in a deep breath. Sure, she could have kept going with the whimsically insane happiness that was exploding within her, but she felt like this needed more of an adult approach. After all, this was a different kind of love then it used to be. It was stronger now, deeper and better and more likely to last. She felt her eyes slightly quivering, oddly feeling overcome with emotion as she opened her mouth. "Because I love you, Teddy. I love you," it wasn't quiet, but it wasn't loud. It was almost stated like a fact, if it wasn't for that slight quiver that came the second time she said 'you'. If it wasn't for the tender look in her eyes coupled with the intensity in them. She smiled, just a sweet small smile, one that she'd always reserved for Teddy, somewhere in the back of her mind. @teddy

Teddy's grin relaxed to a content and happy, soft smile. Victoire's eyes looked into his own and Teddy stared back. As he looked into those grey eyes, he felt like he could see the world; like he could communicate everything with her just by looking into those eyes. And before she even said anything, Teddy felt like he knew what she was going to say.
She loved him. Victoire loved him. Teddy felt like his heart had grown wings and was trying to find its way out of his chest. He felt so incredibly happy, he didn't know how to express it. His hair was already blue! Teddy wasn't sure what he was supposed to do now, but he decided to go with his gut. His hands fell to the small of Vic's back and he pulled her close to his chest. "I love you, too, Vic," he said, just as she had. "Always have, always will." With that, he met her lips with another kiss.

Victoire felt herself completely evaporate into that moment when he said he loved her too. She knew that, obviously, but it was nice to hear it in this capacity. When she wasn't freaking out about work, propriety and all of that. When she wasn't worrying that Teddy was going to bring her down. Before she realized that it was just the opposite. They kissed again and she smiled against those familiar, warm lips. They were different now, though. Something was different, but in a good way. She found herself giggling again as she pulled back, placing a hand on his cheek to stroke her thumb against his jaw line. "Well, on that note," she gave him one more kiss, "we should get going. Sadly the rest of the world," okay, another kiss, "won't wait for us. Come on," she pulled back, clearly unwillingly, until her hand was in his. She took a moment to just look at him. Really look and think about what this meant. That the Minister of Magic had just got a whole new wave of inspiration, and that meant a whole new wave of adrenaline and passion to make this world a better place. @teddy (le end, unless you want one more yourself <3)
