Gabi decided to explore her knowledge of potions, so she asked her sister to assist her with extra potions classes. As potions was a subject which is quite important, Izzy made sure that she knew at least some basic ones. She decided to try out the first potion in the text book, The Draught of Living and began to assemble her ingredients. Halfway through it, she found that there were some extra ingredients which lacked in their stores at home. Grudgingly she got ready to leave for Diagon Alley so as to make a quick trip to the apothecary.
She flooed her way into the Leaky cauldron and walked down the street. She opened the door of the shop and had to block her nostrils beforehand so as to not inhale something gross which will lead her to throwing up her breakfast. She took out the list she has prepared earlier and began to search for the shop assistant. One glance behind the shelf indicated that she was all alone in the mission to collect the slimy ingredients. She carefully walked down the aisles of bottled ingredients and looked for a jar of shriveled beans. She quickly found it and taking it into her hand she turned her heels swiftly.
This action of Gabi ended up quite disastrous, as unknown to her some one was right behind her. Due to the sudden presence, she squeaked and dropped the jar. The silence of the place was broken by the shattering of the glass jar. She composed herself a little and turning to the newcomer she asked "so .. Are you okay?" She shifted nervously and wondered how the other person might have felt due to the mess she created.

Axel was at Diagon Alley with his family. Normally he liked to be there, but today he felt suffocated. He knew he was the baby boy and all, but he was fourteen! He should be able to get at least some of his supplies without having adults breathing down his neck. He wasn't a baby anymore. Still, his parents ignored this logic and insisted going with him, unless he could find someone else to go with him. So here he was, walking through the alley with them. They all stopped when his parents ran into some friends, right outside the apocethary. Maybe ... "Mum, can I go into the apothecary while you both talk?" he asked politely, inwardly praying that she would say yes. She absentmindedly nodded her head and he rushed into the store without a second glance back. He walked through the apothecary, grinning as he looked at all the different ingredients. Axel loved potions. It was his favorite subject, mostly because he loved mixing weird things in a cauldron. It was cool. He wasn't paying attention to his surroundings like he should have though and shortly found someone running into him. He tried to reach forward and catch the jar she was holding before it hit the ground and shattered, but it all happened to quickly. He looked at the girl sheepishly as she asked if he was alright. "Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry about that. I got distracted and didn't pay attention to where I was going. Are you all right?" He looked at her more closely, realizing that he recognized her somehow. "Hey, you look familiar. Do I know you?" he asked curiously. Axel was really bad with names, so he wasn't even going to try. He only remembered the names of people he was close with. isabel alejandra moreno-hughes

Gabi looked up to see who as the unlucky one, whom she ran into. To her surprise, it was a student and not an adult, that saves me from more embarrassment, she thought. She saw that it was a familiar face she has seen in school and wondered if he was a puff. The boy looked like he was in his fourth or fifth year and wondered if she knew him. She gave a small smile as he responded back to her initial worry of hurting him, and said "thank Merlin you are okay. I vos vorried that I hurt you." She mentally smacked herself for slipping back into her usual voice, which had a thick Bulgarian accent to it making her quite recognizable. It was enough that her face was quite known to many of the quidditch fans, but speaking in her usual way made it clear that she was the daughter of Viktor Krum. She gave a small laugh as the boy began to give an explanation to her, she wondered if he thought of her as a strict professor who demanded an answer for his actions. She brushed off his concern and said "I'm fine. I vos barely hurt, but the same couldn't be said for my jar of beans" as she scrunched up her nose at the shattered jar and the scattered beans. Gabi took out her rowan wand and quickly waved it over her robes and muttered a quick spell so as to clear the mess the beans made. She signaled for a worker to come over and clear up the mess. She most definitely did not want to do such things, and turning to the boy she asked "I 'ope you did not get messed up vith the beans?" She knew from first hand experience that those beans would be a mess when in contact with fabric. As the boy in front of her mentioned that she looked familiar she groaned, Merlin she hoped that he was not one of her father's or her brothers fan. She gave a smile nevertheless and spoke "I'm Gabriella Isabel, sixth year Hufflepuff. You might have seen me at school." She hoped that was the case, and not because of her name. it was not that she hated her name, in fact she liked to be known as her father's daughter but with it comes a great legacy which is difficult to hold up.

Axel smiled brightly at the girl in front of him. "Nope, I'm just fine!" her accent was different, but he wasn't going to say anything about it. However, it did remind him of who she was. Gabriella Krum. Axel's smile widened in pride. He remembered someone's name! That hardly ever happened with him, so it really was quite the accomplishment. Axel looked at the beans on the floor with interest. What had she been about to buy? Shriveled beans. Interesting. He couldn't help but wonder why, but since he hardly knew the girl, he didn't think she'd really want to tell him so he kept his mouth shut. At her next question, Axel held his hands out and quickly looked at his clothes as she introduced herself. His parents would not be pleased at all if he'd messed up his clothes. He looked back up to Gabriella, grinning. "No, they missed me." He nodded, "My name is Axel Badeaux. I'm a fourth year, Gryffindor. I think I have seen you at school," he said. Then he couldn't hold back his curiosity anymore. "What were you doing with Shriveled Beans?" It wasn't that strange a question. Most students got the basic kit, not specific ingredients for school. He didn't know her, so he had no idea if she'd answer his question, but he couldn't help his curious nature. isabel alejandra moreno-hughes

She gave a slight smile as he answered back that he wasn't hurt. She knew that it was her carelessness which lead to the incident in the first place and she would feel very bad if he got hurt. She was pleased that the beans did not stain his clothes, she knew the value of clothes and could never see them spoiled. She gave a nod in return as he introduced himself and said "it is nice to meet you, Axel." She gave a small smile as he mentioned about seeing her at school and said "you might have, I have friends in all the houses." 'Good', she thought, there is no need to remind him about your position as a quidditch player. It will only lead to problems for her. At the same time, the assistant at the shop came and she turned to him and requested his help to clear up the mess. She handed him a list and spoke " vould you mind, getting these for me please. I vill pay at the counter when i leave."Sometimes though she felt quite happy that people were willing to help her out with things. She turned to the gryffindor at his question and spoke "the beans are sopophorous beans, it is von of the key ingredient in the draught of living death. It's a NEWT level potion and I wanted to practice it before hand to get a grip on it." She looked at him and asked "what about you? what are you here to buy?"

"Nice to meet you too," Axel said politely when she said it was nice to meet him. His parents had drummed being polite into his head since his birth basically, so it was a reflex response. He nodded when she said she had friends in all the houses. He vaguely remembered her coming to the Gryffindor table last year and talking with people, but he couldn't remember who. Oh well. He watched patiently as she talked wish a shop assistant. "That's awesome! And your parents let you do that at home?" he enthused when she told him what she was making. He couldn't wait until he was older and could make all sorts of cool potions. At the moment, he did easy ones with the rest of his year, but he wanted more. He smiled at her next question, shrugging quickly. "I'm not buying anything. But I love potions. I like putting them together and I love all the different ingredients. My parents are outside talking to some old friends so I came in here so I wouldn't be bored while I waited." He knew his behavior wasn't exactly normal, nor did he care. Putting things together in a cauldron and mixing them together was one of his favorite things. isabel alejandra moreno-hughes

She was glad that he was not one of those boys who would go on and on about her father or her brother's game. She loved them both, but some time it is too much for her to take in when all she wishes for is a calm life. She gave a smile in his direction as he returned back with her earlier comment. She stored his name and face back in her mind, after all one never knew why they would need others. She gave a small nod ad spoke "yeah, they allow me, my father vould also be there and so vill my sister."as she shrugged her shoulders. She wondered what was the big deal in it, but then thought that many others would not have parents who were magical. She thought that may be the boy's parents are non magical. She gave a nod, as the boy spoke up and mentioned about potions being his favorite. She nodded at his comment and said "that's nice. I do like potions, but not too much. I prefer charms to that." That was the reason why she chose to be the co-captain of charms club, even when the captain of potions club was open for her to apply. But at his comment about putting things and mixing, she raised an eye brow and spoke "you do know that, putting the different ingredients does not make a potion." She did not want to sound rude, but some times it did come out such when she talks.

Axel nodded, understanding when she said that some of her family would be with her while she worked on the potion. That made sense. Maybe his parents would let him practice if he asked to do it with them. He stored that idea in his mind so he could put it into use later. He smiled. "Charms are pretty neat," he agreed. He didn't really know what else to say. She was a few years older than him, so he was sure that what she was learning in charms was far more interesting than what he was. "You're probably learning way more interesting charms than I am right now. Can't wait until I'm done with my OWLs. Then I can get into the really cool stuff." Then she started telling him that potions wasn't just putting a bunch of ingredients together. "I know," he told her with a smile, not offended at all. He actually liked it when people spoke their minds. "I guess what I really love is how precise you have to be. It's interesting and I guess it feels like a challenge to see if you can do it the right way."isabel alejandra moreno-hughes

Gabi smiled as the other one, mentioned about charms. She would always feel immense pride when some one complimented her favorite subject. She absolutely loves that subject and always spends her time in reading new spells. She nodded her head at his statement and said "yeah, I read quite a few more charms than you lot." She gave a chuckle at his enthusiasm and said "OWLS aren't that simple to complete and you need a lot of patience to study all those books" which sent an involuntary shiver down her spine. She remembered all the times, she read her way through the night in the common room and all those nights she spent in the library until it was time for curfew. She was glad of her status of a prefect, which meant that she still had some extra time after the usual curfew and used it to read up extra material. She was glad that those days were over, and now she could only choose some subjects and opt out a few others. Gabi was glad that he did not feel offended by her remark and said "yeah, it is always the precision in potion making which makes the difference." Then she remembered some thing about a potion and said "did you know that the change in the quantity of an ingredient can change the effects of a potion." in an all ravenclaw mode.

This was one of the most interesting, school-focused conversations Axel ever had and to his surprise, he liked it. He shrugged when she said OWLs weren't easy. He didn't think they were, but he was still excited. Axel liked tests, like the chance to prove what he'd learned and he was a fast learner. So when it came to tests, he wasn't all that nervous. Of course he'd study and do his best, but he wasn't worried. "Yeah, studying isn't my favorite thing, but I guess there's not really a choice. It'll work out," he said confidently. There was no reason for him to worry about the OWLs now. They were basically a little under two years away. He grinned when he realized that she did really like potions. "Really? I've never heard about that before." He was totally intrigued by this new piece of information. "Hmm, I wonder what's the best way to know that you're ingredients have the best quality," Axel mused, not even realizing he was still talking aloud. isabel alejandra moreno-hughes
