Irina and her sisters arrived late in the evening to Varna, Bulgaria, where their grandparents estate was. Though visiting grandparents could get tedious, the first few days were always the best; they lived close enough to the sea but secluded enough in the forest so they could fly and explore the area without prying Muggle eyes. Irina was usually a late sleeper, but whenever she was back in Bulgaria, she couldn't help but wake up early. It might be the quiet chirps of the birds or the morning air smell of salt water and woodlands mixing together; whatever it was, it worked.
That first morning, Rina rose early and looked out her window. Dawn had begun to cut away the morning mist, the dew still wet on the grass blades. Rina inhaled the cool air deeply and dressed in leggins and a loose tank top before grabbing her broomstick. She chuckled to herself at the irony; she loved to fly yet she refused to play Quidditch. Her mother had quickly indulged in buying her the best broom possible, only to be infuriated when Rina kept making excuses for not being on the team. She tiptoed down the hall, wondering if any of her other siblings were awake. She first checked Tanias' room, who was closest to hers. She peeked in and saw her sister still asleep, breathing deeply in slumber. She would not wake her; Tania had been having trouble sleeping since the kidnappings at Hogwarts; the girl needed her sleep. She made her way to Gabis' room next; she assumed her sister would be awake. She knocked softly on the door. "Bells?" she called quietly, pushing the door open a crack. "I'm heading out for a morning fly over the grounds, want to join me?" she asked.

❊ when the morning comes❊ Gabriella will never admit it out loud, but she totally loved to be in her home town, Vrasta. If you think that it has anything to do with her love for homeland, then you are poorly mistaken. She sure loves her grandparents house, sorry manor which is far away from London, Bulgaria to be precise and yet you can never see her complain about being away from friends. The reason, quite simple :the manor grounds. She fell heads over heels with those vast grounds ever since her childhood. She has learned to fly on a broom on those very grounds and hence the love for those grounds. She spends most of her time flying, and only returns to the house when her mother drags her inside. It was only a day since they have been to Bulgaria and being the cute granddaughter she was, she did not go running towards the ground and displease her granny. But the nagging feeling was still there as she slept on the first day. little did she know that it would be gone b the very next morning. As it was a holiday season, Gabi allows herself to sleep a little more time than usual. She doesn't sleep as though you might have to break a curse, but she wakes up with the tiniest sounds. That morning she was woken up by the sound of her name calling. She instantly recognized it as her sister Irina's voice. plopping on her bed, she came face to face with her sister all dressed up with a broom in her hand. As she spoke, Gabi looked at her as though she has grown a second head and spoke "who do you take me for?I will definitely join you for the fly. You don't have to ask me." Even as she spoke, Gabi lifted herself off from her bed, eyes shining with excitement as she quickly made her way to get dressed Turning to her sister she spoke "be back in two minutes. And she simply changed herself to comfortable jeans and top and came out of her room carrying her new broom and said "let's go." As they reached the grounds, they were greeted by the beautiful sunrise and quickly she mounted her broom and took off hoping to capture the sight in her mind. She flew in the cool morning air and devoured the moments. Turning to her sister, she spoke "thanks for waking me up, if you didn't I would have missed this sight."

Irina was glad she could count on her sister to wake up with her; their grandparents wouldn't be up for hours yet, and then they would be treated to a massive breakfast cooked by their grandmother. She'd make them traditional Bulgarian eats like Princesses & Banitsas & Mekitsas and some freshly made Ayran to drink. Sure, perhaps that breakfast alone was enough to have a girl gain a pound or two, but with the time Irina planned to spend outdoors, it wouldn't matter what she ate just yet. She got outside with Gabi just minutes before the sun began to fully rise over the mountains and kicked off into the sky. She got the swooping delighted sensation in the pit of her stomach; perhaps if their mother hadn't pressued Irina so much into joining Quidditch, she actually would have joined the team on her own.
"You're welcome!" Rina called with a grin to her sister. Sometimes Rina felt bad that she was far closer with Aleks and even Mori than her two younger sisters, but at the very least they had each other to rely upon. Being able to spend one-on-one time with each of them was something Rina planned on doing while they were here in Bulgaria, away from their parents. She slowed to a stop about fifty feet up and hovered, leaning forward on her broom and watching the sun slowly rise. "Isn't it beautiful," she said, more of a statement than a question, only just loud enough for Gabi to hear her.

❊ When the morning comes❊ Gabi watched as her sister soared into the air. She knew that Rina was quite good at flying, but will never understand why she didn't try out for their team. She remembered having to listen to her mother go on and on coaxing Rina to join the team, but she can never recollect a time, when Elena congratulated her for making her way to the team. She knew that her mother would never differentiate but at times, Gabi felt as though she forgot the mere presence of her. Her mother always was a sad topic to Gabi and tried to steer away from it on a morning like this. She shook her head as though trying to force out the thoughts and reached her sister, placing herself just beside her. She gave a smile as Rina answered her back with a 'you're welcome'. Gabi was quite taken by the scenery in front of her which was amazing in her eyes. As Rina spoke from beside her, she gave a small smile and nodding her head she spoke "it truly is a sight to behold." She realized that the way she spoke was quite royal, and in a split second she was bursting with laughter trying to hold back her giggles and be steady on her broom. She looked at the sky and saw that the sun was up and it looked radiant ass ever. She turned to Irina and asked "do you know about the event mom and dad were discussing about, the other day?" She did not know whether her sister knew about it, but Gabi the ever curious one knew that something was going on and decided to eavesdrop on her parents only to listen the name of the event. Before she could listen more, her cute cat gave her away. Sensing that Gabi was going to snoop around, her parents did not even talk about it. Now, Gabi was curious to know what the event was about.

Irina shrugged when Gabi asked what their parents had been talking about before they'd left for Bulgaria. "No idea, I tried asking Dad before we left but he just smiled and said we'd find out the night we returned to Hogwarts. Luckily, it's not too far away but believe me the anticipation is killing me too," she said with a laugh. She hadn't even asked her mother; she had known that she would have just given her a superior look and told her to wait patiently. She had however, expected to be able to wheedle it out of their father, but for once Viktor Krum had not given into her wheedling and had kept a tight lip. "They want us to be surprised, that's for sure," she said, sounding slightly disgruntled.
"If I had to make a guess though, I'd say maybe another Triwizard Tournament. Father was Champion and even though horrible things happened, overall he had said it had created an excellent camaraderie between the three schools," Rina suggested. It would certainly be fascinating to host Durmstrang and Beauxbatons, especially since Daniel would possibly be there....but she couldn't think like that. He was her brothers' best friend, after all. "What are your thoughts?" she asked her sister.

❊ when the morning comes ❊ When Rina too answered back with a negative, Gabi wondered what it was. She over heard it, but she too wasn't sure if the whole thing. May be they were talking something else totally. She decided against mentioning it to Rina and said "I know right, I do not like to wait, and this is not my forte. " She looked at her sister whilst keeping one hand steady on the broom while the other brushed back the brunette locks which were falling on her face. She gave a small laugh and spoke " I hope it is a good one." And mentally she added I'm definitely not on a mood for something like last year, she thought. Gabi was still a bit weary after the surprisin events which took place last year, the kidnappings and killings and she was not ready for the high drama once again. As her sister mentioned about Triwizard tournament, Gabi's head whipped to look at Rina. And with an exciting voice she began to speak "then what I heard vos true after all. Yay, we vill be having such a nice event and the best part is Daniel is going to be there. " She looked at her sister and then realised that she might have sounded like an odd ball and said " I over heard mama and papa speak about the Triwizard tournament and began to wonder whether it was true or not. But now that you confirmed it, I guess it'll be fun. " Now that the initial shock wore off, she heard her sister ask her something and paid attention to it. As Rina asked about her thoughts, she gave a light shrug and said " it's not that I get to participate in it, but I... " however she trailed off when realization hit her. Turning towards Rina she asked " you are going to enter aren't you? You vant to participate in the tournament, von't you?"

Irina laughed as Gabi's accent became more and more pronounced as she got excited. “Well hold on hold on, mum and dad discuss the Triwizard Tournament all the time since Dad participated in...oh what, 1994, 95? There hasn't been one for nine years; I don't even know if there's a specific time that needs to pass before a Tournament can be played again,” she said. She didn't want her sister to get her homes up and have them all crushed when Headmaster Longbottom made the official announcement at the Welcome Feast. Her heart skipped a beat when Gabi mentioned that Daniel would be there if it was the Tournament. Scolding herself inwardly, Rina cleared her throat. “Yes, I suppose being an of age student from Durmstrang, Daniel would be there if the Triwizard Tournament was held at Hogwarts,” she said carefully.
Rina did not answer Gabi right away; she had had conflicting feelings about the Triwizard Tournament ever since her father had sat her down and given her the full story on what happened that year. Dragons, mermaids, and the maze; her father had been Imperiused while trying to find the center of the maze, causing him to attack Cedric Diggory with an Unforgivable Curse. It had taken almost four years of convincing Viktor that she was old enough to hear the full story; a Death Eater in disguise working to ensure Harry Potter's win had done whatever it took to make sure Harry was the one who took the Triwizard Cup. It had been disguised as a Portkey, and evidently this led to the Dark wizard Voldemort's rebirth, and of course the death of Diggory. Viktor confessed to his eldest daughter that he still had nightmares about that night in the maze, what he had done to a fellow contestant always would haunt him. She could not imagine having to live through one of the Unforgivable Curses. The idea of eternal glory though, that did certainly appeal to Irina. For a moment, she envisioned herself holding the Triwizard Tournament, her family and friends surrounding her, and one face in particular standing out, glowing with admiration... “You know what Bells? I think I would enter,” Rina told her finally, a smile slowly spreading across her face.

❊ when the morning comes ❊ Gabi scowled good naturedly at her sister, a little, and said "of course, I know they talk about it all the time. But they never talked on secret about it, they are quite open about it." She spoke in a small voice, as though she was explaining a small child. She loved it when she can talk to her sister like that, it was a rare chance for her. And Gabi would definitely use it to a maximum extent. Gabi had a smug look as Rina explained about the possibility of not having the tournament, Gabi however refused to budge and spoke "I'll bet you with 5 galleons, I'm sure we are going to have the tournament in this year." If she won, then it would be the first time, if Rina won, then it is for good as the tournament was something which hurt people a lot even after the many security measures. Gabi gave an excited nod at the thought of seeing Daniel. She liked him a lot more than she ever liked Aleksander and he knows it too. "If he comes to Hogwarts it vill be awesome. I can spend time vith him and we can fly together" Gabi spoke a little too fast in her excitement not even bothering whether Rina heard her or not. She noticed that her sister has not given the answer straight away like she usually does. That indicates that, Rina was still thinking about it all and has not made a decision regarding it. If Gabi was true to herself, she would not be able to see her competing in the tournament. But another part told her that Rina would love to have a chance to follow the family legacy. She waited for the answer and after a full five minutes later she heard Rina speak, 'I would enter'. Gabi gave a small smile and a nod in return and spoke "that vos what I expected, but why did you take this long to answer?"

Irina tried very hard to suppress an eye roll when Gabi started talking to her in that way. "Of course I think it's the Triwizard Tournament Bells, I just think it wise not to jump to assumptions until it's formally announced," she said, a bit waspishly. She looked away as her sister chattered on about Daniel, who thought of them as his little sisters. Up until about a year ago, Rina had felt the same way - Dan was Aleks' best friend since before Rina could remember, and they had always had a playful sibling-love relationship. But when they had gone hiking together in a cave and that bat had swooped down causing her to almost fall into a pit, Dan had grabbed her, and pulled her close as she shook with paralyzing fear. He hadn't needed to hold her, but he did. Ever since then Rina felt herself looking at Dan a bit differently, and she hated herself for it.
"It's a dangerous tournament Bells, I had to way the pros and cons to what would happen if I were to be selected as champion. You remember what happened to Father during his third task, what happened to one of the Hogwarts boys," she told her, frowning slightly. She wondered what would have happened if the Triwizard Tournament had happened last year - Aleks certainly would have entered. Would she have been worried for him? Certainly, as she hoped her sisters would feel the same way.

Gabi could see that her sister was not happy with her excitemnet. She simply could not understand her, and as she spoke Gabi listened to her and said "okay, I get it. But I will not feel bad if it isn't hosted". She wondered if her sister though of her as those bunch of girls who would whine and cry for anything. She was half itching to ask her, but decided that now was not the best time. They still had to be in Bulgaria for quite a long time, and starting off her holidays by an argument with Rina was not appealing to her.She could see that her sister looked a little off at the mention of Daniel. What happened between those two?' she thought. But then again, Rina was not a person to stay calm if she had said something to him or may be she was remembering something. She shrugged off but not before vowing to keep an eye on her sister. It was not her usual behavior, she was a little different when it came to Daniel and wondered what it was. Gabi listened as Rina gave out the answer to her previous question and nodded. She spoke in a calm yet strong voice, she spoke "I know it Rina. But I just wanted to know why? That's it, I'm not mocking you for taking this much time. I wanted to know what things you took into consideration."She did see the frown on her sister's face, so decided that it would be best if the topic changed to another. So in a cheerful voice she spoke, "wanna have a race with me?"WORDS: 279 TAGS: Irina Rose Krum NOTES: i'm soo sorry for the late reply. I thought I had posted in here. |

Gabi still was pushing the question of what she had taken into consideration for entering the hypothetical tournament; and Rina felt bad that she'd have to lie. The explanation 'because I dreamt I would become the champion and so that's what swayed my decision,' didn't seem exactly feasible, let alone the addition of Daniel's face shining with pride in the crowd. Gabi could never know about these dreams that seemed to be popping up more and more. Daniel was basically considered part of the Krum family, he was off limits to her. "I considered everything Father told me, and then thought about my own abilities so far, and I feel like I could handle it," she said smoothly. She noticed her sister was still giving her a strange look and tensed up for a moment; could she possibly be sensing her changed demeanor about Daniel? She hoped not.
"Let's race," she agreed, a determined gleam shining in her eye. She may not play Quidditch like her siblings, but she was still a good flier, and had more time to just fly around for fun rather than practice the sport. "Ready?" she called as she lined up to be even with Gabi. "Three...two...one...go!" she yelled and the two of them shot off. Rina loved the rushing sound that deafened any outside noise, the adrenaline rush that had her blood pumping through her veins. If Quidditch had been just racing long distances, she probably would have been happy to have competed. "To that tree and back?" she called, pointing to one of the large poplar trees situated at the edge of their grandparents' property. She put on a burst of speed and sharply curved around the tree, brushing her arm against the branches. She laughed happily, and began the journey back home.

❊ when the morning comes ❊ Gabi gave a small nod in the general direction as Rina began to speak. She was not much thrilled by her sister's words, but then again she was the most unique daughter in the family which always left her as an odd ball. She gave a nod at her explanation bit couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy at the mention of their father. He mentioned it to Rina but not to her even when she asked him quite a lot if times. However she was brought out of her musings, when Rina agreed to race with her. Gabi gave a wide grin and said "bet you, let's get ready. " She could not hear much of what her sister was saying. Adrenaline pumping out through her body, she only waited for the 'go' from her sister. No sooner has she said it, Gabi nudged get broom with her right hand and soared through the air. She was a chaser and fast flying was something she was quite deft at. At Rina's condition in game, she called out, " alright ".She leaned over her broom and in a sharp curve, she passed right after her sister. She knew that concentrating on the game would in general weaken her flying skills. But they were the daughters of quidditch players and Rina always has time to practice. But years of honing her chaser skills did pay off as she flew a hairs breadth before Rina. She gave a wide smile at her sister and said " nice flying sister ". She turned around when she heard her name being called and saw that it was their grandmother. She looked at Rina and said " let's go back. It they'll start worrying ".
