Edmund grimaced at Addi when she started giggling after their kiss. Finally things were going the right way and there were things he wanted to tell her, now that they'd kissed. But he couldn't! People were coming up the stairs and ruining his moment. His frustration was mixed with joy and he couldn't make up his mind about how he was feeling. No wonder she was laughing at him. He took her hand in his. At least no one would say anything if the two of them were holding hands, except that they were done fighting. It's not like they'd never fought before and then made it right before. Granted, their fights had never been as intense as this one, but they'd fought.
He smirked at her, "Only when I'm nervous? Wow, that hurts." He wanted to talk about what had happened, talk about whether or not she was still interested in Kyle, talk about if she had feelings for Edmund or not, but there wasn't time. Not with these people coming up the stairs. They'd be here any minute. He could tell she was trying to calm herself down, but he didn't care. Looking at the stairs quickly, he bent down and gave her a quick kiss. He couldn't help it. He laughed when he pulled away, happier than he'd been in a long time.

@edmund <3 Edmund's grimace made Addi Giggle even more. The fact that he was so upset about people coming up the stairs slightly amused her. Even though it was taking them a while, she hoped they just went back down the stairs. And then Edmund grabbed her hand and Addi smiled. He wasn't afraid to hold her hand in front of someone else!
Addi hoped just as much that the people went away as soon as they saw them, but they still hadn't made it to the top yet. As Addi was thinking this, Edmund gave her a sweet surprise and bent down for another kiss. This time, he was the one that laughed. All of this excitement, this shock and butterfly feelings were wonderful. "No, not just when you're nervous. All the time, E." Addi could hardly contain her feelings.

Edmund grinned down at Addi and winked. He liked seeing her like this, so different from how she'd looked all week. He was so glad he followed her. Now that things were good between them again, Edmund didn't want to leave. He wanted to stay up here with Addi as long as he could, but how? He looked around for some ideas, but there was nothing. Then genius struck and he turned to Addi, a sly smile covering his face.
"Let's dance," he told her, putting her hand on his shoulder. "We'll pretend like we didn't hear them and maybe they'll go away?" He placed a hand on her waist, taking her other one quickly in his own. Hopefully this would work. Granted, if it did, people would probably start talking about Addi and Edmund. He wasn't sure how he felt about that. Then again, he could always tell people that he was teaching her to dance. Who knows, it might work. He smiled as he led her around. Being close to her still made his heart race.

@edmund <3 Edmund winked at her. Addi bit her lip and smirked at Ed. She shook her head at him, laughing. "Oh, Edmund."
He then suggested they dance. Addi loved that idea. They began dancing under the stars, with no care in the world. It was a beautiful sight. Addi was staring into his eyes, her only care in the world at that moment was him. She smiled softly, "I've never told you this, but I love your freckles, and your eyes. I could look at you all day, E..." after she said this, the people finally made it to the top. Addilyn assumed it was anther couple as they were giggling then disappeared back down the stairs. Finally, alone again. Addi smiled, her eyes moving from his eyes, back down to his lips.

Edmund was so caught up in the feeling of dancing with her that it took him a second to refocus when Addi started to talk. When he realized what she was saying, he turned bright red. Adds," he moaned, smiling so she'd know he wasn't upset. He glanced over her shoulder, watching as a couple saw them and then turned around, headed back down the stairs. He exhaled in relief.
He didn't know what he was doing. He wanted to talk with her, wanted to figure things out. Then again, he knew it was early on in the relationship and he didn't want to make things uncomfortable. Still, there was one thing they needed to talk about. He sighed as he stopped dancing and sat down on the floor, before laying down. He was sure she'd follow his lead. He looked up at the stars. Adds, we need to talk about what happened," he said after a few minutes of comfortable silence. "I don't want us to have another fight like that, so we need to get things out in the open." He was nervous about the next few minutes, but also determined. No matter what was said, he was going to do his best to stay level-headed.

@edmund <3 When Edmund sighed, Addi knew it was time to talk. She sighed herself, then took in a deep breath. She followed his lead, sat down, then laid down beside him. Both of them looked up at the stars, but she continued to as Ed spoke. When he was done, Addi licked her lips. "I know, E ... I don't want to fight like that again either."
Addilyn used her hand to find his. She intertwined their fingers and squeezed his hand. "I just...I don't know Edmund. I, I know I have feelings for you, strong feelings. And I definitely want to act on them. But I do still need to talk to Kyle, but mostly about the way he talks about us because I don't want that to be happening..." She became nervous he would get mad again; but Addilyn knew where her feelings lied now. However, she still had to get rid of the year long crush she's had Kyle. And soon.

Edmund closed his eyes when she agreed to talk with him about this. He cared for her, but he had to know what she was thinking. Was she still thinking about Kyle? Was she still mad at him for anything that he'd said?
He smiled when she entwined her fingers with his, his heart hammering. He held his breath when she answered him, but she didn't answer either of the questions he was most concerned about. He squeezed her hand, trying to reassure her that he wasn't getting upset. After the other day, she was probably nervous about that. Still, she said she had strong feelings for him. That was something, right? Even if he didn't like the fact that she wanted to talk to Kyle. "I understand," he said. "And I definitely care for you too, but I do have some questions. Then if you have any I'll answer them. And I promise I won't get mad no matter what you say, so please don't hold back," he turned to look at her, for a moment hoping she'd believe him. "First, do you still have feelings for Kyle? And second, is there anything I said the other day that you're upset about?" This was the one he was most worried about. What if he'd said something that she couldn't get over, or that she forgot she was upset about? He had to make it right.

@edmund <3 Addi felt Edmund squeeze her hand in reassurance and that is what gave her the courage to say how she felt. Only because she didn't want a repeat of before; that was a horrible night and she couldn't imagine having to do that all over again. Not with Edmund.
Addilyn hesitated at his first question. Why did he want to know that? But he looked right into her eyes, so Addi had a feeling she was okay to answer him. "Well...yes. But they aren't strong, and, they aren't something I want to try to act on anymore...I just want you, Edmund." She hoped that was a good enough answer for him, and she hoped it didn't hurt him as much as she did the other night.
The next question was about if anything he had said hurt her. The one thing that stuck out in her mind, popped out of her mouth, "When you told me to just go ahead, go and like him...I wanted you to just understand because you told me to always tell you the truth but you were angry and mean about it and, your opinion is important to me, it always has been, E. And then you repeated everything I said with such anger, you've never spoken to me like that before..." Addi turned her eyes back up to the stars, hoping he didn't see the tears surfacing to her eyes. He must've though, because one fell down her cheek.

Edmund couldn't remember a time when he'd been so nervous. What was she going to say? When she told him her feelings about Kyle, Ed smiled a little, hoping it would reassure her that he wasn't upset. Sure, he wished she didn't have feelings for Kyle but she was making it obvious who she wanted, which was Ed. "You have no idea how glad I am to hear that," he said, squeezing her hand gently. One question down, one to go. Unfortunately, he was pretty sure her answer to this question wouldn't be as good as the last one.
He cringed when she started telling him what he'd done that hurt her. He closed his eyes briefly, not upset at her but at himself. Why had he let himself lose his temper that way? As she finished, he opened his eyes once more, watching her. He knew even before he opened his eyes that she was probably crying. He was right. He was silent for a moment as he tried to come up with something to say, to explain what happened, why he reacted the way he did. He lifted their entwined hands and used his to gently brush her tear away, never letting go of her hand in the process. She was looking at the stars, but he watched her as he gave his miserable excuse. "Adds I, I've never been good with my temper. I've tried for years to control it, but sometimes I just lose it. I'm so sorry I couldn't control it that night. I was just so surprised and, and hurt," he paused. Man, this was hard to talk about, to try and put into words. He'd never been one for expressing his feelings, especially deep ones like this. "I realized our first night back that you were becoming more special to me. And then, when you told me about Kyle that same night it was a relief in a way because then I thought that you and I ... and then we were dancing and it was perfect and just us until you said you still liked him and I realized you probably didn't feel the same way about me that I did for you. I wasn't just angry at you or at him, I was mostly angry at myself for thinking there was something between us." He watched her expression desperately, hoping he was making some kind of sense, that he wasn't making things worse. "I'm sorry. I couldn't control my hurt and anger and I took it out on you, which you didn't deserve. I kept trying to stop, to think rationally but I couldn't. So I told you to go ahead and like him, because if I couldn't convince you to like me, I might as well stop trying. I just ..." he stopped, not knowing what else to say. He had no good rationale for his behavior and he couldn't think of anything else that made sense.

@edmund <3 Addilyn felt Edmund squeeze her hand and she squeezed back automatically. His words made her heart swell with happiness. Her face burned red and she looked at him out of the corner of her eye, "Well, um, do you, do you feel the same way?" She didn't have the confidence to ask him if he only wanted her; it was a weird feeling to be acting this way with her best friend, but also nice.
His words flowed through her brain and as she listened, she felt her heart break. Gosh, she was a horrible friend. "Oh, Edmund I know you have a temper...I just, you've never used it on me and now all I have is our angry face in my head and just the way you spoke...it was horrible." A few more tears fell and he caught them with his hand, wiping them away. Addi wasn't used to angry Edmund, and the amount of anger he had in his voice scared her. She'd never seen him like that before.
Addi looked up into his dark eyes. She used her open hand to reach up and touch his cheek. Her thumb rubbed the freckles that he had, and she smiled sadly. "You don't have to convince me, E...I already do like you. I'm sorry for ruining our perfect night...I didn't think you liked me, Edmund. I don't think any guy would like me that way, especially you. You deserve someone better, someone, like you..." That was in no way meant in a mean way. Addilyn meant it as, she's not wealthy, she doesn't live in a large castle, and she isn't as sophisticated as Edmund is. She'd feel like an embarrassment if she ever met his family.

He grinned at Addilyn, "Of course I do, Adds. Only you," he said simply, winking at her. He thought that went without saying, considering that he was the one to kiss her and the way the rest of their conversation was going, but if she needed to hear it, he wasn't going to hold back. He didn't want her to doubt the way he felt.
She was still crying and he felt guilty. He could see the fear in her eyes and wasn't surprised. He'd scared her. He knew that and didn't know if he could help her get over that, but he was going to try. "I'm so sorry. I never wanted you to see me like that. Is there anything I can do to make it right? To make you forget that part of me? I can't promise I won't get angry again, but I'll do my best to control myself." He didn't know what else to say. There probably wasn't anything he could do to make this right. She'd always have that memory of him angry somewhere inside herself.
He gave a sad smile as she apologized, thinking that she didn't have much to apologize for. What happened was his fault. If he had controlled his temper, things would have worked out much better. Then he grinned slyly as he decided to lighten the mood. "Really Adds, you think I need to be with someone like me? Some hothead that I'll get into a fight with after five minutes and then we'll be done for good? I'd probably be so messed up I'd swear off relationships for good." He laughed, easily imagining that playing out in his head. Not with Addi though. "No, I'd rather be with you. And what are you talking about, better? You're the best person I know, way better than me." He finished with a wink, to make sure she knew that he wasn't berating himself, he was just talking about how good she was.

@edmund 348 <3 His words brought absolute bliss to her ears. That was so great, only her. Exactly how she felt about him. It was comforting and exciting to know that someone actually felt the same way as she did. Addi smiled slyly at him when he winked.
"I'll probably always have that image of you in my head, Edmund. But it's not something I'm going to hold against you for the rest of our lives. Everyone makes mistakes, and I hurt you, bad. I should've known that by you holding my hand was a sign, but I just thought it was pure friendliness. It's my fault that argument happened..." This was true, but Edmund also did tell her to tell him the truth. But this wasn't a blame game. An argument happened, and it was one that they never saw coming in their friendship. Addilyn turned her head from the sky to him, and blue met brown. She slowly scooted towards him, and looked from his eyes to his lips. After biting her lip, Addi gave Edmund a soft kiss on the lips, hoping he understood that she forgave him.
Then a laugh escaped her lips and she shook her head. "Oh, no E! Not a hot head, that wouldn't be good, but you've never really been a hot head around me either." She smiled brightly at him, her eyes still on his. Then she let her eyes look back at the sky as she spoke once more. "And I mean, someone that has come from wealth, someone who knows everything you know, someone who lives in a castle, someone...royal." It was weird to even think of Edmund as royalty. They don't really speak about that part of his life or him, so imagining him in this huge castle was unusual for her. "Not some boring old English girl that's normal. I'd be an embarrassment to your family..." After saying all this, she looked back at him. It was embarrassing enough to say without having him staring into her eyes. Addi squeezed his hand and licked her lips. "I just like you so much, E."

Edmund nodded his head in understanding. That didn't mean he liked what she was saying. He wished there was some way to take back what had happened, but he was just going to have to live with it. At least she wouldn't hold it against him, that was a good thing. He shook his head at her, though. He didn't want her thinking for one second that the fight was her fault. "No, we both made mistakes that night. If I would've reacted differently, it wouldn't have been a big deal. Can we just decide to put it behind us? Not let it bother us anymore?" he asked, tired of both of them blaming one another. Then she kissed him and he smiled, not expecting that but liking it all the same.
He put his free hand to his forehead and pretended to wipe it, "Whew! So glad you agree with me on that." He cocked his head to the side curiously as he continued to tease her, "If I'm not a hothead, then what am I?" His eyebrows creased as she continued to explain what she'd really meant by "someone like him." He didn't like her thoughts on that at all, but he wasn't angry. More like, disappointed that she would feel that way. How was he supposed to explain that being royalty wasn't who he was, that the true Edmund was the one here at Hogwarts, the one with magic? The one with her. He sat up and turned to face her, concerned that she actually felt that way. "How would someone like that understand me? Adds, all they think about is balls and looks and how the public views them. That's not me. I don't need someone royal or wealthy, someone who lives in a castle. I grew up with all that and I hated it. Every minute of it. I didn't find myself until I learned about magic and came to Hogwarts, where I met you." he reached over and played with a lock of her hair gently, "You're not boring, Adds and there is no way you could ever embarrass me. I'm not settling for you because I haven't found someone else. I care about you." He stared into her eyes, hoping that she would believe him. He didn't want this to worry her.

@edmund 170 <3 She nodded her head at Edmund with a big, goofy grin. "Put what behind us?" Addilyn winked at Ed, hoping he understood what she meant by that.
When Ed wiped his forehead Addilyn laughed out loud. She rolled her eyes at him. "Hm...well you're my best friend, you're one of the most important people to me, and I hope you'll...maybe, just maybe, be with me someday soon?" Addi bit her lip and sat up with Edmund. She licked her lips, her cheeks blushing pink. He reached up and played with a curl of her hair and Addi leaned her head into his hand, shutting her eyes slightly. Taking a deep breath through her nose, she smiled and opened her eyes again. "I can't imagine living in a castle, and having such a big house. It must be amazing, E..." She drifted off in speech then looked up at his eyes. "I care about you too, Edmund, I really do. A lot. I'd do anything for you." Addi leaned towards him and kissed his cheek.

Ed gave a wide smile, "You know, I don't remember what we were talking about." He laughed, glad that things were finally getting back to normal with her.
Edmund smiled, unable to resist the impulse to tease her. "Be with you soon? Come on Adds, do you really think there is any way I'm going to leave you alone after this? I'm not going to let you out of my sight," he misinterpreted her on purpose, winking playfully. He loved how things were back to normal with her. No, better. They were back to being completely comfortable with one another.
He shrugged when she mentioned how great it was living in a castle. "Maybe for someone else. That lifestyle isn't really me," he told her. "And I for you," he grinned when she kissed his cheek. "Who's being forward now, Adds?" Ed teased.
