Jamie,
I hope school's going well. I wish I could come back to join you. I heard Hogwarts is hosting the Triwizard Tournament this year. The Ministry is having a field day with it. If I know you, and I do, I know you'll be the first one in line to put your name in the cup. I hope you get picked, but at the same time, I'm a little worried. I know you've heard the stories about what happened last time. We all have. But if you do get picked, I know you'll do great, and I'll find some way to come cheer you on.
I love you, and I miss you. You seem so far away.
All my love, Harper

dear harper,
School's going great so far! You were right in saying I was eager to put my name in the Goblet, but you'd be surprised by how many people beat me to it - a lot of people went up before dinner was even over. I took a few days to make sure it was what I really wanted, which, of course, it was. I figure that you can never be too cautious when it comes to those sorts of things. Naturally, most of the people who put their names in immediately were Gryffindors. You know I love Gryffindors, because I love you, but it can be really annoying how they think they're always entitled to winning everything just because they're the house of the brave or something. Being brave doesn't always make you the best choice for everything, you know? Sorry, mini-rant, but I didn't want to punch anyone, so.
How's work going? I know you said the whole Ministry is in a tizzy with planning and such, but does that include your department? I can't see how Muggle artifacts would be used in the Triwizard Tournament. (If you're not allowed to tell me, that's okay - just figured I'd ask.) I promise I'm not as far away as I seem. Hogsmeade visits start soon and then we'll be able to see each other a little. Love you loads, miss you tons! xoxo, jamie

Jamie, I can't tell you too much about the Ministry involvement, of course (biased as I am ) but all the departments have some involvement, even us here at little ol' Misuse of Muggle Artifacts. And I've been helping with making sure everything stays hidden from the muggles, even if it's not technically my department. No one thinks like a muggle better than I do, you know. And they're nosy little buggers. I can't wait for Hogsmeade visits. It feels like forever since I've been there. Diagon Alley is great and all, but there's just something about Hogsmeade that feels like home. As far as the pool for the Triwizard Tournament being mostly Gryffindors, you can't really blame them. The last winner was Uncle Harry, so there's a lot of pride and expectations at stake to keep the cup in the Gryffindor house. I'm sure a lot of them are acting like pompous prats, but that's just a Gryffindor thing. I would be hamming it up if I had the chance. If only they had it one year earlier. But enough about my daydreaming. I'm proud of you, and I hope you get chosen. You're going to do wonderfully. Maybe I can at least make it down for the Yule Ball. Love, Harper @jamie

All of the departments!? I knew that the Ministry had to do a lot to make the tournament a possible, but I guess that I didn’t realize that that many resources were going towards it. Is that really smart, given the fact that there’s a rogue anti-Muggle group running around? Sorry. I know that your cousin’s the Minister of Magic and I’m sure that she’s doing her best, but I would have thought that there are more important things to be focusing on, especially since there are so many foreigners here for the tournament.
When I know when Hogsmeade visits are, I’ll send you the schedule so you can try to get off work. I know that they’re on Saturdays, but I still want to make sure that you’re there, because…well, it’s obvious. It’s weird not seeing you after spending the whole summer together.
I’m sorry, but are we forgetting that the real Hogwarts champion was a Hufflepuff? And that he died!? We hardly get anything, Harper, and the one thing that we did get your uncle ruined made about him. I know he’s the Chosen One and all, but just once, I’d like my house to have a moment in the sun. Cedric Diggory deserves to be more than just a cautionary tale for why you shouldn't enter the tournament. He deserves to be remembered as the Hogwarts champion, who was a Hufflepuff. Gryffindor has your entire family, who are all war heroes. They have so much, and right now, they’re frankly just being greedy, and I’m a little upset that you’re willing to write it off as “just a Gryffindor thing”. If I had told you that mostly Slytherins were entering, you wouldn’t be making excuses for them!
I have to go. jamie

Jamie,
What makes you say that Cedric was the real winner? No one was in that maze except for him and my uncle. And you know as well as anyone that Harry didn't have a choice in the matter, He was forced into that competition. You're making it seem like I think Gryffindor is better than the other houses, which obviously isn't true, or I wouldn't be dating you. Which, considering that you're acting like a brat, is becoming questionable in itself. I respect Cedric's death as much as anyone, but I'm not going to sit idly by while you insult my family. It's not my fault or any of their's that fate chose Gryffindors to be heroes. That's kinda what we're born for.
Maybe I won't need that Hogsmeade schedule after all.
Harper

I never said that he was the real winner. I'm saying that he was the person who was selected as the Hogwarts champion, considering, you know, he was actually of age and all. I get that you uncle wasn't trying to do any of this, but he could have at least tried not to steal all the glory. Can he even do that?
Sorry that not everyone thinks that Gryffindors are the saviors of the world, or, as you put it, "heroes". Are Hufflepuffs just supposed to be your quirky sidekicks? Because this badger isn't going to apologize because some stupid lion decided to roar too loud. If you actually cared about me, like you claim to, then you would have actually looked past your stupid house pride. Nice to know I'm not as important as the Gryffindor house, though. What else is new?
Yeah, you're really not going to need that schedule anymore. Hope you're happy. jamie
