@brandon <3 Addilyn giggled and shook her head. He was funny. "Do I look busy, Brandon? I'm just sitting here reading." She sat up more in the chair and leaned forward to him excitedly. "I'd love to go sing! There's a piano on the first floor in the entrance hall that you can use." Addilyn didn't have a problem with people watching her, so it wouldn't be difficult for her to sing.
"You don't need to thank me, Brandon. But you're welcome. I enjoy helping others. It makes me feel... important." Addi smiled sheepishly him. She knew it sounded drastic and childish, but it was really how she felt.

Brandon grinned when she said that she wasn't busy. "Let's go! I want to hear you sing," he said enthusiastically. Honestly, he was excited to listen to her sing, but he was also ready to play again. He didn't know what made the difference, but he suddenly had the strongest urge to go play the piano. It had been so long since the last time.
He smiled, "I'm thanking you anyway so you might as well get used to it."

@brandon <3 Addilyn grinned and stood up. She quickly put the book where she had gotten it and went back over to where Brandon was. "Fine! Let's go then!" Addi left the library quickly and began walking down the stairs, Brandon in tow. She smiled. "So, Mr. Pianist, what am I going to be singing?" It had been quite a while, so she knew that she'd have to do some voice practices before she began. And Brandon would probably need to work his fingers as well, seeing as he himself hasn't played in awhile.

Brandon followed her out of the Library and down the stairs. When she asked what she would be singing, Brandon smirked. "What do you want to sing. I can play anything," he answered confidently. It didn't matter what she wanted, he could play it. If he knew the song, he wouldn't need music for it, if he didn't know the song, he might need to look at some music or something, or he could make her sing a bit of it and make up something to go along with it. Didn't matter, it wouldn't be a problem. Taking a break for a few months wouldn't make that much a difference in his abilities. He'd been playing too long for that to matter much.

@brandon <3 Addilyn smiled brightly at him and nodded. "Okay!" She had a specific song in her head that she wanted to sing. It was a song that she absolutely adored, and always had. Whether it was well known or not she wasn't sure, especially if Brandon would know it. Addi skipped down the hall over to the piano in the large room.
She sat down on the bench and patted the seat next to her for Brandon to sit. She didn't dare touch the piano, she didn't know how it worked or the keys, she would leave that for Brandon. "I want to sing 'Can't Help Falling In Love With You.'" Hopefully he knew it. But if not, Addi knew the words and the tune, she was sure he'd learn it easily.

Brandon followed Addilyn down the hallway and to the piano. He touched it with a smile as he sat down. He really had missed this. He looked at her, waiting for her to tell him what song she was interested in. He laughed triumphantly when she said the song she wanted. "That is a classic. Watch this," he said as he started playing an intricate, detailed version of the song. It felt so good to have his fingers fly across the keys like this. Why did he wait so long? "You ready?" he asked as he was nearing the end of his introduction.

@brandon <3 Addilyn listened as he began playing and her eyes widened. Well, he really was good! She smiled and nodded her head. But, before he began to play for real this time, she sat down on the bench with him, their legs touching. She tilted her head and watched as his fingers began moving, playing the beginning part of the song, and then she began to sing..
Wise men say only fools rush in But I can't help falling in love with you Shall I stay Would it be a sin If I can't help falling in love with you Like a river flows surely to the sea Darling so it goes Some things are meant to be Take my hand, take my whole life too For I can't help falling in love with you...

She had a voice. As he continued playing, he just closed his eyes and listened to her voice. It wasn't hard, his fingers already knew what they were doing. He forgot how natural it was for him to play. It really came without thinking now, unless he was composing or learning a new song that he never heard before. But a song like this, simple.
When the song finally ended, he opened his eyes and turned to look at the girl sitting beside him. "You have a beautiful voice," he told her, though he was sure she already knew that. "Do you want to sing something else?" Really, he just wanted to hear her some more. That wasn't bad, right?

@brandon <3 His words made Addilyn smile brightly at him. He was sweet. "Thank you Brandon! That's so nice of you." She wasn't sure what to sing next, actually. He was very good with the piano, and maybe there was a song he wanted to play. She wasn't going to be selfish about it. Adidlyn tilted her head. "We can do something else. But why don't you pick the song this time?"

He grinned over at her. Why was it so easy to be happy with Addilyn? He didn't even know her all that well. "I wasn't trying to be nice, I was telling the truth," he replied with a smile. Then she told him to pick the next song. Oh, that was hard. Brandon knew so many songs from so many eras, he didn't know the kind of music she liked or which songs she would know and he didn't want to choose a song she didn't know. Then he'd just be playing and no one would be singing because he wanted to focus on the piano at the moment. He wasn't in the mood to sing as well. So he started running his mind through classical songs. He smiled when the song "Piano Man" entered his mind. It was by Billy Joel, and who didn't know him? He started playing the recognizable tune and turned to look at the girl beside him. "So do you know this one?"

@brandon <3 Addilyn laughed quietly. She was slightly embarrassed. Granted, people told her how good her singing was all the time but this was different. She wasn't sure what type of different, but it just was. He began playing another song, and as she listened to the tune, Addilyn grinned wider. Of course she knew this song! "I do! Keep playing." Then Brandon played more, and Addi took a deep breath before belting out into song...
It's nine o'clock on a Saturday The regular crowd shuffles in There's an old man sitting next to me Makin' love to his tonic and gin
He says, Son, can you play me a memory I'm not really sure how it goes But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete When I wore a younger man's clothes...

Brandon liked listening to Addilyn sing. He liked playing for her, but he wanted to try something else this time. Since this was a song he knew every word to, he decided to join her. On the second verse he started singing, instantly liking their voices together. For some reason they just seemed to fit and Brandon found himself even more surprised. Was there anything else about this girl that he should know because at the moment she seemed pretty perfect. Perfectly attuned to him.
Once the song was over, he turned to her with a big grin, "That was great, don't you think?"

@brandon <3 Addilyn stopped singing and she turned to look at Brandon, laughing at his big grin. "Yeah, it definitely was." She smiled. He was fantastic at the piano, it seemed like he must have been playing it for quite a long time. Addi never got into any instruments, really. She stuck to singing; it was her one, true passion. "You're fantastic with the piano, Brandon. I could never play like that."

Brandon grinned at her compliment. It was always entertaining to him when he got to see how surprised people were by his talent. Apparently he didn't look much like a pianist or musician. He still was though. "You could if you started playing before the time you could walk, but thanks," he told her with a wink. It was true. Being close to music his whole life was probably the reason he was so passionate about it.
"Well, now that we've established you have an amazing voice and I'm decent at the piano, do you want to stick around here and we can play more music, or do you have somewhere you need to be?" Brandon didn't exactly want her to go, but he couldn't really expect her to spend the entire afternoon with him. He did know one thing though. He was going to be keeping an eye out for her from now on.

@brandon <3 Addilyn laughed. That was definitely not something she had done, but she has done that with music which is why she is where she is today and why she's such a talented singer. At his question, Addi thought for a moment. Did she have other things to do? Flancing at the clock overhead she saw the time. Smiling gently at Brandon, she nodded. "I actually do have to go, I'm sorry! Maybe we could sing again another time." She has to go have dinner with Edmund, can't be late!
