Ramsey continued to hold on to Cecelia. She meant it when she told Cecelia to take as long as she needed to. Ramsey wasn't sure how it was to lose someone, but she knew that it hurt a lot. She would be a mess if something ever happened to either of her parents and she would want someone to be there for her, too. So, Ramsey felt it was sort of her duty to do this for Cecelia. And she didn't mind one bit. Even when Cecelia caught her off guard with her question. Ramsey wasn't surprised enough that she made a confused look so much as a somewhat incredulous looking one. She didn't pull away or move from Cecelia as she spoke, "of course." How could anyone not love Cecelia? Ramsey could feel her heart breaking for the Hogwarts student. What on Earth had she been through to make her feel that way? "Why would you ever think someone couldn't?" She asked after a short moment of silence.

Ramsey’s words were like a rush of ice water through Cecelia’s veins, but in the best way – cold, but so refreshing. Cecelia was expecting boiling heat to follow the cold, but nothing happened, nothing changed – she was just left awake and slightly frightened by how easily two words could change her life so completely. “I – I thought that only good people deserved love.” Cecelia said, swallowing slightly and trying to find a way to put into words the storm of feelings she had inside of her. “And I – might not be a good person.” It was different from Cecelia’s previous insistence that she wasn’t in any way, shape, or form a good person - a step in the right direction. “And also…you know, gender wise…?” Cecelia asked, trailing off. She had been sure of her sexuality for a while, hence why she hadn’t hesitated to add captain of the GSA to her long list of responsibilities, but the Gryffindor wanted to know if when Ramsey said she could love someone like Cecelia, she meant that she could love a boy with Cecelia’s personality, or if she could actually love Cecelia herself.

It was hard for Ramsey, even though she had only known Cecelia for very little time, to hear her sound so upset, so unsure... it really did break Ram's heart. "I may not have known you for very long, Cecelia," Ramsey said looking at Cecelia in the eyes. "But I can tell you are a truly genuine person. It doesn't take much to see that." Ramsey prided herself in her ability to read people. She was no psychic by any means, but she had always been good at reading the emotions of others. And she could certainly see that deep down, Cecelia was good, even if she didn't know it.
Cecelia's next question caught the Beauxbatons student a little off guard but a coy smile slowly appeared on her face. "Are you asking if I could love you because you are a girl?" Ramsey felt she knew that was exactly what Cecelia meant; it wasn't exactly subtle. "Because if you are, then yes." Ramsey went ahead and answered without hesitation. "I'm gay." She smiled proudly.

Compliments from Ramsey felt better than compliments from other people, Cecelia thought. It was the difference between candlelight and the sun lighting up her insides – with Ramsey obviously being the sun. Cecelia nodded slowly when Ramsey repeated what she had just been thinking, but in a question form. Yes, she had been wondering if Ramsey could love her because she was a girl. For a moment, Cecelia couldn’t breathe, but then Ramsey said yes. Yes, she could love a girl. Yes, she was gay, yes, yes, yes! Cecelia burst into a grin, and she didn’t even bother trying to hide it. “Well, that’s – that’s really good to know.” She said, wondering if that was strange to say or not. “I…” Wanted to ask her on a date, but this seemed the wrong time, given everything that she had just unloaded. Cecelia wanted to tell Ramsey to wait, wait for her, but that seemed unfair. The smile melted off her face. She was going to ask. Just not now, when Desirae was still around to pull on her strings.

When Cecelia let a grin spread across her face, Ramsey did the same. Cecelia commented on how that was good to know, and Ramsey raised an eyebrow but never lost her smile. "So," she began, scooting ever so slightly closer to Cecelia. "Are you...?" Ramsey looked at her and tilted her head to the side in curiosity. Ramsey figured she would ask, since Cecelia had. If she wasn't, well, then that would have been an odd thing for Cecelia to ask in the first place.

Right. Cecelia realized after the fact that it was probably silly of her to ask Ramsey such a thing without at least stating why she had a vested interest in the answer. “I’m pan.” She answered quietly. She wasn’t sure, when Ramsey said gay, if she meant gay or just that she liked girls, but it didn’t really matter at this point. Cecelia needed to find some way to distract herself from Ramsey until she knew that Desirae wouldn’t interfere, wouldn’t hurt Ramsey just to get to Cecelia. “Hogwarts has a Gay-Straight Alliance. I’m the captain.” She explained, even though Ramsey probably didn’t need to know that.
