It had been a while since Harry had been able to talk to hid godson. They both had busy schedules, and trying to coordinate a meeting was like walking through a minefield. Finally settling upon a date had been an immense relief for Harry. He worried about Teddy more than he probably should, but of course he had a soft spot for his godson - Harry saw an uncomfortable amount of himself in Teddy, though thankfully his godson hadn't had to go through the same series of life-threatening events as Harry had. It was strange, but Teddy's progression through life made Harry feel even older than his own children's milestones. He had openly wept at his godson's graduation from Hogwarts, if only because he knew that Remus would have been so proud to see his son graduate Head Boy and one of the most liked students in his class. Tonks would have laughed at the silly color of his hair, and they all would have been so happy. Harry wanted that for Teddy more than he could express, but in the absence of his real parents, Harry was trying to be as good of a surrogate as possible. It was difficult, yes, but if anyone asked Harry, he had four children, not three, and his eldest child was a Hufflepuff, not a Gryffindor; that was just the way things were.

It had been quite some time since Teddy had last seen any of the Potters. After the events of last year, he had been tied up with keeping guard of Victoire. But... since he and Victoire had began dating again, Teddy's schedule had freed up. Victoire didn't want their relationship to affect either of their jobs so she had let Teddy go, and Teddy was no at all angry! If anything, he was ecstatic! He was the happiest he had been in a very long time. His hair was blue again for the first time in years!! So, when he and Harry finally were able to set a date to meet up, Teddy was excited.
Growing up, Harry had always been the closest thing Teddy had had to a father. Sure, Teddy had his grandfather, but he just that... his grandpa. The Potters were his family. James and Albus were like his brothers, Lily his sister, and Harry and Ginny were like his parents. Teddy had never been sad to not have known his parents... Harry and Ginny and their friends had told Teddy plenty of stories about his parents. He had always been assured that were they here, they would be proud. But Teddy never considered his life to be empty or lacking in happiness. Harry and his family had provided Teddy with more than plenty.
Coming up upon the Fountain of Fair Fortune, Teddy set sights upon his Godfather and a smile spread across his face. His blue hair went the slightest shade lighter at the surge of happiness he felt seeing Harry as he approached him, his arms spread wide apart to envelop him in a hug. "Aren't you a sight for sore eyes?"

Teddy’s hair was blue, and if seeing his godson alone wasn’t enough to make Harry burst into a smile, the bright blue hair was. It had been forever since Harry had seen Teddy happy enough to have his hair be that shade of blue, and it made Harry feel warm inside when the color seemed to be amped up even a step further when they laid eyes on each other. Harry accepted Teddy’s hug, squeezing his godson tight to him. “I could say the same of you, Cubby.” Harry said, stepping back and ruffling Teddy’s hair. “I forgot how good that color looks on you.” Harry said with a chuckle. He had some suspicions as to what could’ve caused the change, but Harry wasn’t going to go nosing into his godson’s life until after he (Harry, not Teddy) had had a drink. Teddy still wasn’t old enough to drink alcohol, as far as Harry was concerned. He passed his godson a drink menu nonetheless, hoping that the glare he gave Teddy over the tops of his glasses would be enough to keep him from doing something silly like getting drunk on aged firewhiskey. Maybe it was Harry who had done that the first time had had gone drinking after Ginny had agreed to marry him, though. He never could really remember for certain. “So, now that Kingsley’s boy has written him a best-selling biography, I was thinking you could do one for me.” Harry told Teddy, smirking slightly. “I’ve got a couple of great title ideas. ‘The Life of the Boy Who Lived’. ‘Lightning Strikes Twice’. ‘Harry Potter: Sinner or Saint?’” Harry paused. “Actually, I think that last one’s already been written.” Probably by a Rita Skeeter wannabe.

Teddy rolled his eyes, still smiling, at the nickname his Godfather was still using for him at twenty-five years old. As embarrassing as it was being called that as a teenager (especially around Victoire,) Teddy was never the type of person to tell someone off just for being funny and light hearted. In fact, Teddy had grown to like it. Ted chuckled as Harry complimented his hair color. "Thanks, Harry," he beamed at him.
The Hufflepuff alum took the menu in hand when Harry handed it to him and began to look it over. Teddy had never been a huge fan of alcohol, especially the hard stuff so he made sort of a disgruntled face as he tried to decide on something when as he read what each drink was. The focused look vanished, however, when Harry mentioned Royal's book and then said something about Teddy making one for him. At this, Teddy couldn't help but let out a little laugh. "'Lightning Strikes Twice' has a nice ring to it, actually..." he played along, shrugging.

Harry chuckled, amused at Teddy’s face upon the perusal of the alcohol menu. It still baffled him (and made him feel extremely old) to know that Teddy was allowed in bars – real bars, not the Three Broomsticks – but at least he wasn’t going to have to make excuses as to why he was helping his drunk godson stumble through Horizon Alley. “See? I’ve given you your next project.” Harry paused. “You’re not going to stay on Victoire’s guard, if I’m reading this situation correctly.” It was a statement of fact, more than a question, in which case the whole joking about publishing a book wasn’t so joking at all. Teddy was an author by craft, and if he wasn’t making an income as a Ministerial staff member, then writing another book would probably start climbing pretty high on his priority lists. Harry didn’t mind tossing his godson an easy bone – not that he was trying to be cocky or anything, but a book about Harry Potter written by someone who actually knew Harry was sure to be a best seller.

Teddy narrowed his eyes at the menu before deciding on a light, fruity like drink. He set the menu down and then looked up at his Godfather. It was nice to have one thing in his life that was never changing, and that was his relationship with his Godfather. Even if they both looked older now, inside it was still much the same. Teddy chuckled when Harry said a biography could be his next project. The idea wasn't that bad actually. Who better to write a book about the Harry Potter than his very own Godson?
When Harry said Victoire's name, Teddy looked back at him. If he was a dog, his ears would have perked up and his tail would have started wagging. A wide grin spread slowly across his face at his Godfather's words. "Any assumption you have, I am sure it is correct," he said through his wide smile. It was nice to finally be able to tap back into his metamorphmagus abilities again, but it was even nicer to be back with Victoire and not have to be asked about it because, well, his hair was blue again.

A grin spread on Harry’s face when Teddy confirmed what he had suspected about his godson’s relationship with Victoire. He had always supported their relationship, and wanted them to be happy together, and now that that was on the table again, Harry was delighted. “Are wedding bells in your future?” Harry asked, raising an eyebrow. If they had just recently gotten back together, it probably wouldn’t be for a while yet, but Harry would love to have Teddy marry in and become honest, proper Weasley, so that even people who doubted the strength of Harry’s own relationship with Teddy, they couldn’t deny that he was a part of the family. Besides, weddings were great. Harry loved weddings, especially when he loved the two people who were getting married. But he was getting ahead of himself, and Harry had to remind himself to slow down. “But I do need to replace you, then?” Technically it wasn’t Harry’s responsibility, but of course he was going to have a hand in selecting Teddy’s replacement. He had to keep his niece safe.

Teddy let out a modest chuckle as he rubbed the back of his head and looked down at the floor. Honestly, he always knew that Victoire was the one for him. He certainly did want to get down on one knee for her one day, but he knew that was something that would have to wait. And truthfully, now that he had gotten back together with her, he was fine waiting as long as he had to. "Well, I would be... wow, just... I'd be the luckiest guy if I ever got to marry her." He replied, trying to keep it vague. Teddy had been a part of Harry's family for so long, and even Victoire's, that he pretty much considered himself related to them all already. Though, it would be kind of nice to "seal the deal," so to speak. He looked back at Harry and shrugged again. "I suppose so. I think Vic and I decided it best if I didn't... work under her if we are gonna be back together. I think Hermione and Vic were already heading that up, though," he trailed off to think for a moment. "But don't worry, I've got to approve of whoever they choose, too!" He puffed his chest up in an almost joking way for a moment. While Teddy certainly trusted the judgment of Hermione of Victoire, he would still want to get a good look at whoever they chose to head up the guard and replace Teddy as Victoire's own guard. He couldn't have some half wit protecing the love of his life, after all.

Harry chuckled at Teddy when his godson said that he would be the luckiest man if he got to marry Victoire. Oh, young love. Teddy would soon learn that he was not, in fact, the luckiest man in the world, because Harry definitely was. He loved his niece, but he could never love any Weasley more than he loved his wife. (His children were Potters, so thankfully they were excluded from that statement, otherwise Harry would have a difficult time proclaiming it.) Still, he was happy that Teddy was considering marrying Victoire, even if he hadn’t come out and said that was the plan. Harry was good at reading between the lines, especially when it came to Teddy.
“That’s smart.” Harry said when Teddy agreed that he wasn’t going to work under Victoire any longer. Working with your spouse had always seemed dangerous to Harry, though he personally couldn’t remember anyone who had done it for any appreciable length of time. “I’m glad.” Harry said with a chuckle when Teddy said that he had to approve whoever they chose to replace Victoire. It was nice to know that the person who cared the most about her would help choose her protector. “What else is new with you, Cubby?” Harry prodded. The blossoming romance was happy, of course, but Teddy was doing more with his life than just making googly eyes, Harry hoped.

Teddy smiled and nodded. "Yeah. And, you know Vic, she doesn't like to mix business with pleasure." He chuckled lightly at the thought. Maybe their dreams and careers had been what had split them up in the past, but it was nice knowing that there was very little chance of that ever happening again. Teddy was over the hill happy now that he was with Victoire, and it meant so much to see Harry happy about it too. "Me, too," he smiled at his Godfather widely.
Ted let out a sigh when Harry asked him what else was new with his life. Honestly, since leaving his position at the Ministry, he was finding himself very unoccupied most of the time. Which left him plenty of time to see his friends, when they weren't busy. "Well, not a whole lot. Mates are doing well. You probably know, Royal works with Victoire now," he nodded at Harry. "And my old mates Jake and Odette are a pair now, and that's a little weird to see, but other than that things have been pretty slow." Teddy shrugged. "Kind of in a bit of a writer's rut, to be honest," he admitted a little sheepishly. Ted had been so busy with guarding Victoire that he had not really had time to pick up a quill to really write in quite some time. He was really beginning to miss it.
"But what about you? How's the terrible trio?" Teddy grinned at the thought of his God-siblings. He loved the lot of them a whole lot, and he regretted deeply that he had not had a lot of time to see them these last few months.

Harry nodded when Teddy said that Victoire didn’t like mixing business and pleasure. She had the ambition bit of Slytherin house down pat, and distracting Victoire from her work, even if the distraction was a good thing, probably wasn’t the best way to endear yourself to her. It was how she had gone so far so fast.
Teddy said that there wasn’t much else going on with him, but Harry listened nonetheless as his godson talked about the various things his friends were doing. Harry wasn’t sure how to feel about Kingsley’s boy being a part of the Ministry now; he would’ve thought it would be too close to home, especially since he was working in the Minister’s office, with people who were familiar with his father. It wasn’t his place to judge, though. He didn’t know as much about Odette and Jake as he did Royal or Victoire, but he nodded along when Teddy said it was weird to see them as a couple. It was always strange to see your friends fall in love, even when you expected it; Harry would know better than most. When Teddy said that he was in a writer’s rut, Harry shrugged. “It’s bound to happen sometime. You’ll get out of it soon.” Offering painstaking advice would probably just prolong the issue. “If you ever need a quiet place, Godric’s Hollow’s always open to you, as is my office in the Ministry.” The former was probably quieter than the latter, and would be easier to get Teddy into and out of, but if Teddy was already in the Ministry and needed a place, Harry was happy to oblige.
Harry blew out a breath when Teddy asked about his children. “James is James, Albus is Albus, and Lily is Lily.” Harry finally answered. It seemed to be a bit of a copout, but anyone who knew his children would know what he meant by that.

Ted smiled gratefully as Harry offered up Godric's Hollow and his Ministry office. "I'll definitely take you up on Godric's Hollow," he said. Since being back in Britain, Teddy hadn't yet got a place of his own so he was still staying with his grandparents most of the time. It was still far too early to ask Victoire if she would want to live together, but he hoped one day it would be a possibility. "Though, I may try to stay away from the Ministry for a while. Give Vic her space and all." He shrugged nonchalantly. "Maybe work toward getting my own place, eventually."
Teddy let out a little chuckle and shook his head when Harry spoke of his children. "Well, I hear Cupid has been making his rounds around the Weasley clan. What about the Potters?" He inquired. "I haven't spoken to them all in so long..." he mused, allowing himself to feel guilty for a moment before looking back at Teddy with a smile.

Harry nodded when Teddy said that he’d probably visit Godric’s Hollow in an attempt to find someplace quiet to reside. “I hope you remember where the spare key is?” Harry asked. It hadn’t changed spots in years, but it was amazing the kinds of things you could forget when you were off gallivanting in Greece, and then courting the Minister of Magic. “Whatever you want, Cubby.” Harry said when Teddy added that he’d prefer to stay out of Victoire’s hair. He wasn’t one to question his godson’s choices. “And if you ever need any help with the house hunt, don’t hesitate to ask.” Harry was already planning to give James a house, and Al the money to get a place of his own, so what was the harm in giving his godson the same financial freedom as he gave his biological children? Maybe Teddy’s pride could get in the way of that, but Harry certainly hoped not.
“What do you mean?” Harry asked when Teddy mentioned Cupid and the Weasleys. The Potters, of course, he knew about, but Harry was guilty of not spending nearly enough time with his nieces and nephews as he ought to. “James has Natalia, of course, Albus left the country with Dusti Flint, and Lily went to Germany with Adrian Greyback.” Harry said after a short pause. Saying it made everything seem so real. What were his children getting into?
