Edmund was really tempted to tease her again, about whether she'd ask him to throw her in a closet as long as he joined her inside ... but it didn't seem like the right thing to say, so he merely smirked as he kept his thoughts to himself. "Alright, I just wanted you to know that if you ever want it, I'd be happy to oblige," he teased, sure that she would probably let that subject drop now.
Ed's eyes narrowed as he tried to figure out what was going on inside her head, "I don't know what you're planning, Adds, but be careful," he warned, even though he was almost positive she would ignore the warning. Addi liked to be reckless sometimes, and it seemed like she liked it even more since she knew he would be there trying to help/catch her. He smiled and winked when she glared at him, "I meant something you don't already have, Adds. Come on, you've got to give me something to work with," he plead, wondering if that would help his case at all. He really wasn't sure.

@edmund <3 Addilyn laughed. She rose an eyebrow at his next comment and thought about it for a moment. "Well...the next time I get shoved into a closet, I'd hope it would just be with you." Her voice was quiet, and she had leaned forward to whisper it into his ear. She was totally flirting, but maybe it would give him the reason to kiss her the way he did the other day when he did shove her into a closet with her brother; that had been nice.
Addi looked at him sheepishly, and grinned widely from ear to ear. No, she definitely would not tell him what she was planning. And she would not even give him any type of hint. He told her to be careful, but she tended to ignore him when she had things like this planned. "Sure, E!" His wink made her stick her tongue out at him and she shrugged her shoulders up and down. What did she want? Even she didn't know. "I really don't know, Edmund. But I'm sure whatever you get me will be perfect, don't worry about it too much."

Edmund grinned at her when she finally caught on. "But you said you don't want me to!" He teased as he pulled back a little so he could look at her face, trying to keep his expression innocent and sincere. She probably saw through it, but he didn't care. After a minute he grinned and leaned forward to kiss her, wrapping his arms around her waist.
He rolled his eyes when she said that she didn't know what she wanted, but he had a plan. It had just been a thought earlier, but he had to ask her about it to make it work. "Well I did have an idea, but I wasn't sure how it would work ..." he trailed off, trying to make her curious. After giving enough time for her curiosity to start to bug her, he asked. "What was it that you said you liked to do at home? I thought you told me about something to do with pumpkins," he said, moving over and pulling two out from behind a sofa on the other side of the room. He really didn't know what they were supposed to do with these, but he was sure Addi would know. Halloween was her favorite holiday, after all.

@edmund <3 Addilyn play glared at Edmund and crossed her arms over his chest. She didn't speak, just staring at him now. She knew he was just kidding, but she could play that game too. Addi suddenly felt his arms around her waist pulling her closer and she gasped slightly and giggled, but kissed him back. Edmund was such a charmer, and Addilyn knew she was lucky, lucky to have such a wonderful person as her best friend.
Edmund was now acting weird, so Addilyn just intently listened, her face all scrunched up in confusion. What she liked doing at home? He was slowly moving around the room, his eyes on her but moving to different spots as well. "What are you doing?" As soon as she had finished asking her question, Edmund had grabbed two pumpkins from underneath a nearby table. Addilyn's eyes widened and she jumped up and down. "Oh! Pumpkin carving!"

Edmund loved the look of confusion on her face before he showed her the pumpkins and she figured out what his plan was. He laughed when she started jumping up and down and he brought the pumpkins closer, setting them on a table where they could both do this together. "Yeah, that," he answered slowly. He hadn't really heard what she said exactly so he didn't want to try and repeat it. "I've never done this before, though, so you're going to have to teach me a bit," he told he, sure she wouldn't care. "What kinds of tools do we need?" he asked, mostly just to get her thinking about it so they would appear on the table and the two could start. He really had no idea what they were about to do, but he had a feeling that it was going to be very fun and he was proud of himself for surprising Addi. She hadn't expected this at all

@edmund <3 Edmund looked very confused, and Addilyn couldn't help but giggle. She was shocked at this! She absolutely loved Halloween, and the fact that Edmund remembered she liked doing something with pumpkins was making her heart melt; he couldn't even say it! Addilyn knew Edmund didn't really celebrate Halloween as a child, so this would make it even more fun. She closed her eyes and thought about two carving knives, stencils, pencils, and a few other tools to carve out the front of the pumpkin, and a scooper. She also asked for a bowl, and some candles. It all appeared on the table and her eyes lit up. "There! That's everything!" Before Addilyn even attempted to get going, she grabbed Edmund around the waist. "You're perfect."

Edmund watched closely as Addi closed her eyes. A few seconds later, all sorts of things appeared on the table and Ed knew that his face looked confused. What was all of that stuff? And what in the world were they going to do with it all. It looked like materials for a surgery ... small knives and such, but he figured he would just defer to Addi. She knew what she was doing so it would probably be best to let her lead the way. Then she grabbed Edmund in a hug, telling him that he was perfect and Edmund smiled, kissing the top of her head gently. "I try," he told her with a smile, wrapping his arms around her and squeezing her tight for a few seconds.
Then he pulled away and turned to face the table. "Alright, Adds. This is your favorite holiday and so I got you pumpkins. Now what are we supposed to do with them?" Edmund was actually really excited about this. It was really the only thing he'd planned for the afternoon, other than dancing with her and he wanted to try it out, sooner rather than later.

@edmund <3 Addilyn grinned brightly and enjoyed the hug Edmund returned. She was definitely surprised by all of this. It wasn't anything she had been expecting, and in all honesty, Addi couldn't remember the last time she carved a pumpkin. Probably since before Hogwarts, as she was never home for Halloween or her birthday. The fact that Edmund really listened to her and what she has said in the past meant a lot to her, more than he might even know.
Addi nodded her head and stood at the table, grabbing the knife first. "Well, we have to cut the top first." She began cutting around the stem of the pumpkin, and she made sure to tilt the knife to the side slightly. She set the knife down and pulled off the top of the pumpkin and rolled up her sleeves. Addi reached for the scooper and began scraping the insides of her pumpkin and putting it all into the bowl. "Then you have to empty your pumpkin out!"

Edmund watched as Addi grabbed the pumpkin and started cutting the top. He observed closely, having every intention of doing his pumpkin on his own. She pulled the top off and started scraping everything out from the inside. He couldn't help but make a face when he realized what he was going to be doing. That did not seem like fun, but he wasn't going to mess everything up because it didn't seem particularly appealing to him.
He grabbed the knife and made his own circle at the top of the pumpkin, around the stem, his knife pointing straight up and down. He pulled the top off and started scraping out the insides. Honestly, the smell wasn't his favorite, but it was oddly satisfying to remove the slimy strings and seeds from the pumpkin. He asked the Room for a bowl and started placing the insides of his pumpkins in it. "So are we supposed to get everything out of it?" he asked curiously, wanting to do this right but not exactly knowing how.
Once they were done emptying the pumpkins, Edmund stretched a little and turned to Addi with a smile. "So what's next?"

@edmund <3 Addilyn saw Edmund's reaction to the inside and she giggled. His face was mixed with disgust and shock. She shook her head. "Oh don't worry Edmund! You can just wash your hands after!" Addilyn continued putting the insides of the pumpkin into the bowl, then watched as Edmund did the same thing. She was proud of him for doing something completely different to him, and it was fascinating to watch. "Yes, everything."
They finally finished, and Addilyn grabbed the stencils, looking through them, then thinking. "Well, you can either use one of these stencils, or you can use the pencil and draw something on the pumpkin. Then we have to carve it out!" She grinned brightly. Addilyn didn't really like the ones that were on the stencils, so she grabbed one of the pencils and began to draw on her pumpkin, looking at Edmund out of the corner of her eye. She turned the pumpkin to the side and moved to the opposite side of the table so he couldn't see.

Addi was giggling and Edmund was sure it was because he was doing something wrong, but he didn't look up at her. The second she started laughing, he felt himself start to turn a little red and he didn't want to make that obvious to her, so he focused on his pumpkin. It was weird, taking all the seeds and strings out of the pumpkin in front of him. He'd never felt anything like it before and though he did kind of like it, he hoped it wouldn't take too long to get all the gunk out. Addi teased him about washing his hands. You won't be smiling so much if I wipe them all over you before I wash them, he thought to himself. Of course, he didn't say it out loud. If he was going to attack her with sticky hands, he didn't want to warn her.
Edmund looked at the stencils the room provided, rolling his eyes when Addi turned her pumpkin away from him. Cat, witch, bat, weird faces. Hmm ... after a minute Edmund had an idea. He smiled when another stencil (provided by the room, of course) appeared, attached to his pumpkin like the room already knew what he was planning. He gave a sly smile as he nodded. All right, so he knew what he wanted to do, the only question was how. "Hey Addi ..." he started, wishing he could figure it out on his own, but he had a feeling that the picture he chose wasn't particularly easy, so he needed advice. "Is there a way to do this or do you just start cutting the pumpkin with a knife ...?" he trailed off, waiting for her to tell him something that might help him not slaughter his pumpkin

@edmund <3 Addilyn saw his face turn a bit red, but she didn't mention it. He was already embarrassed enough and Addi had a feeling that her laughing at him wasn't helping. But she wasn't laughing at the fact that he's never done this before, it was more because she remembered what it was like as a child, carving your first pumpkin and the nasty feeling of the insides on your fingers and underneath your nails. But in the end, the finished product was wonderful and beautiful and all the hard work was worth it.
As Addi was beginning to draw on her pumpkin, Edmund asked about the knife. Her eyes widened and she smiled. "Oh I'm sorry! I forgot." Addi shut her eyes, and a small carving utensil appeared. "You can start carving it with this, and then use the bigger knife to cut out more of the pumpkin." She handed it over to Edmund and continued drawing on the front of hers, glad they were surprises. This was turning out to be a great birthday.

Edmund looked at the carving utensils as Addi handed him one, "Thanks Adds," he told her with a smile before focusing on the job athand. He looked at the small knife in his hand, then back at the stencil on his pumpkin. If there was any way that he was going to follow that stencil, the wouldn't be able to start with a stiff knife. He casually looked at the other tools, leaning closer when he saw one that was like a thick pin of sorts. He picked it up and looked at it carefully. Then his mind started to form an idea. If he could use this to poke holes in the pumpkin, then he could just use the knife to connect the holes. Wouldn't that be an easier way of cutting his pumpkin and getting it to look the way he wanted it to? Honestly, Edmund wasn't sure, but he figured he might as well try it out. He started poking it, making a trail of holes as he followed the stencil. It took longer than he thought to finish poking all his holes. Then he grabbed a small knife and started using it to connect his holes. This wasn't bad at all! It still took quite some time, but before long Edmund was done and pulling away the stencil as he looked at his masterpiece. "Are you almost done, Adds?" he asked, wondering what she decided to do with her pumpkin.

Addilyn nodded her head and got to working. She hadn't specified to Edmund examples of what were usually on pumpkins, or even what she was doing. It was all up to the person doing the carving. Addi had an own idea of what she'd do, and she smiled as she saw Edmund begin to get to work on his own pumpkin. Once she had finished drawing, she grabbed another carving knife and followed her own lines. As soon as she finished, Edmund had finished a few moments before her, she set down the knife and wished for a wet cloth. It appeared, and she wiped off the front of her pumpkin, getting the excess shavings off. "I'm done!" Addi grinned brightly and turned her pumpkin around so it was facing Edmund. "We have to make it dark in here and put candles in them, then you'll see the real effect!"

Addi turned her pumpkin around so Edmund could see it and he smiled when he saw what she did. Then, right as he was about to turn his pumpkin around, she said that to get the full effect they needed candles inside. Edmund smiled slyly, deciding to keep his pumpkin a secret for a few seconds longer. "Go sit over there," he told Addi with a smile, nodding to a couch against the wall. He wasn't sure if she would do it, but he wanted to give her the full effect since it was her birthday.
He wished for candles that would fit inside the pumpkin and grabbed two when they appeared on the table. He placed them inside the pumpkins, putting the tops of the pumpkins so they were sitting on top of the pumpkin but not covering the whole opening. If he did that, it would be hard to keep the candles alight. He wished the lights were off and nodded when the room did what he wanted. "Are you ready Adds?" he asked, a teasing smile on his face even though she wouldn't be able to see it. He turned both the pumpkins so they wouldn't be facing her and he lit the candles. Then he sauntered over to join her on the couch.
He put his left arm around her shoulders and then, with a flick of his wrist, the pumpkins turned so they were facing the couple. Edmund looked at his pumpkin first, extremely proud of how good it looked. The Hogwarts silhouette was perfectly recognizable, to him at least, and he was waiting to see her reaction. "So what do you think?" he asked curiously.
