Liona followed the instructions the professor gave them, taking ou ther wand momentarily to spell her numbers into existence above her head. As soon as the new piece of paper appeared on her desk she snactched it up and began vigorously scanning the pages for the meanings of her numbers. The number four for her character meant.... stability, firmness, hard wo-- at that word Liona snickered just a little. Hard work could mean a lot of things really and most definitions you couldn't really apply to her. Just as she went to read on a voice broke her out of her own little world. I'm am nothing like this. I'm not predictable" It was Cecelia Rousseau. Liona didn't know her too well but had always liked her sister Desirae back when she still attended Hogwarts. Fun girl to be around. She looked up above her head to check out her numbers, noticing that they shared a character number. Guess Cecelia had chosen her to pair with. "I'm not very predictable either. Nor am I," she paused to look back at the paper momentarily to read through the meaning of the number more thoroughly. "Prone to angry outbursts? Absolutely not. I can be stubborn though and I much prefer logic to fantasy. He did say that this might not be who we are but who we can become. I don't plan on being keen to angry outbursts," she muttered that last part with a grimace before looking back at the paper. She wanted to know what her other numbers meant. Also what did Cecelia's other numbers mean? What was she like. Liona took a peek up again at Cecelia's number before looking back down at the paper.

Dom watched as his students began to converse about their numbers. Some of them seemed interested and excited talking with their classmates about their numbers. Most of them, as he noticed sadly, could care less and were a lot less enthusiastic. Maybe it was the fact that he'd had them converse with one another that made the assignment not as fun for them. Or maybe it was just the assignment in general. He figured they'd be a little more happy about the fact that they didn't have to translate more tomes today. Ah well, he would just have to write this one off as needing a tweak before he tried it again on a new set of seventh year students next year.
After a little while of conversation from his students, he checked to clock and noticed that it was pretty much the end of the class period."Alrighty my wonderful arithmancers! It is the end of the class period. I hope you learned something new about yourselves today whether it was something regarding your personalities or something regarding your love for arithmancy I hope," he grinned at the students on that last bit. "You are all free to leave. Next class we'll probably get back into translating. This was just a short break. There isn't any homework for the night so enjoy the rest of your day," he waved as some of the students quickly gathered their things and left the class.

The professor announced that class was over, and Jamie could have cried with relief. The Ravenclaw boy, whoever he was, wasn’t much fun to talk with, droning on about how Arithmancy was a useless subject that he had just taken to buff up his schedule. The Arithmancy N.E.W.T. was apparently an easy O, and he needed it to balance out his other poorer grades. Jamie had been nodding along, though she was displeased with the idea of any subject being deemed “useless”. She wasn’t going to be using any of what she learned in school if she ended up as a Quidditch player, but that didn’t mean that any of it was useless! At least this class period hadn’t been tedious translations, Jamie thought. To add another bonus to the day’s lesson, there wasn’t going to be any homework! Jamie could have cried in happiness. Not having an assignment in Arithmancy meant that she could get ahead in one of her other classes, and then she’d have less work over the weekend, and then…well, it was just a snowball effect, wasn’t it!? Jamie waved to the professor happily before leaving the classroom, more carefree than she had been when she entered it.

Cecelia listened intently as Liona analyzed her own personality. The professor had indeed said that this was just an indication of what they might one day become, but Cecelia had to admit that she didn’t find any of the qualities of their character number very attractiveness. She thought that fantasy was better than logic and that stubbornness just led to bad things happening. Angry outbursts felt good in the moment, but they had the tendency to pour gasoline onto fires rather than douse them. Cecelia wasn’t much into diplomacy, but she didn’t want to be the opposite of diplomatic, and that seemed to be what her character number demanded of her. “What if we change our names?” Cecelia asked Liona under her breath. That would change their numbers without changing their personality. Before she could get an answer, though, the professor announced that the class was over. “Send me an owl, if you want.” Cecelia said, flipping her hair over her shoulder and then making a beeline for the door. She didn’t want to be stuck in this classroom for a moment longer than she had to be.

Before Cecelia could bring it up, she'd already thought about the predicament she mentioned. "What if we change our names?" It wasn't often that people changed their names themselves but things like marriage came about so last names change which might change your numbers. But people did have a tendency to change after marriage so it didn't seem too far-fetched that the person who's name was changing would be changing right along with their name. Even if only a little bit. She didn't get much of chance to explain her thought process to Cecelia because just as she was going to, the professor announced that the class was coming to an end and they were free to leave. There wasn't going to be any homework to turn in the next class period either apparently. She might end up looking more into numerology herself anyway because if she could learn more about people just using their names, she'd gladly take advantage of it. Give her an upper hand. With Cecelia's invitation of owling her, she gave a nod and smile before packing up her things and leaving the classroom
