Apparently there was a party tonight.
Well, okay, there were always parties at Night clubs, but this was actually planned. Dakoda, her captain, had told her about it. Basically the club was having a 'Caribbean' themed night, and his friend, who's birthday it was, was having a massive get together at the club. Dakoda had invited her to go. You know, meet knew people. Make friends. Get accustomed to 'the British life'. Since she didn't have anything better to do, she'd accepted. Might as well, right? She'd only been in London a few days, and she could use some partying and drinking. Jade wore a flowing wine colored dress that hit her mid thigh with black stiletto heels and a black leather jacket. She was absolutely freezing, but at least she looked like she belonged in the night club. And usually places like this were crowded, so she'd appreciate not having to many layers on as the night went on.
When she walked into the club that Dakoda had named, it was already pretty crowded, obviously the party had already started. Across the dance floor she caught a quick glimpse of Dakoda. Not long enough to try wave or anything like, but at least she knew she was in the right place. Immediately she approached the bar. "I don' suppose ya offer Dark and Stormy, do ya?" The bar tended nodded and she grinned. Immediately he went to work fixing the drink and Jade turned to lean against the counter and take in the night club. Unfortunately, the British man next to her had heard the accent, and was immediately interested. "You take this 'theme night' quite seriously, don't you? You know, you're pretty good at it."She looked at him, an eyebrow raised and trying very, very hard not to retaliate. He took the silent response as permission to continue. "How about I pay for your drink, and you show me how you fake that pretty accent? All you have to say is 'Ya mon'." Oh, he thought he was so confident. Jade let out a slowly, deep breath, before turning to the man, flashing a smile, but planting her hand on her hip. "Firs' off, I ain' fakin anydin'. And second off, 'ya mon' is de wors' way ta fake a Jamaican accen'. And dird, I ain' interested." Jade was a normally nice girl, she just didn't like people making fun of her accent, something she was actually quite proud of. And she hated how people had a hard time understanding it. It probably didn't help that she spoke quickly. "What?" He asked after a moment, obviously having missed some of what she said. She exhaled, more like huffed. "No mon," She said slowly, her own tone mocking as she rejected his offer, throwing back the only word she was sure he'd understand, the one she didn't even use! Stupid stereotypes. Her glass was set on the counter then. Quickly she scooped it up and left the bar, heading in the direction she'd last spotted Dakoda, leaving the British man standing there, scratching his head.
Maybe being a Caribbean at a Caribbean themed night wasn't the best idea.

Today was Wes’ twenty-sixth birthday, and for fun his friends had decided to throw his birthday bash at a bar in London famous for hosting Caribbean nights on Saturdays. They all knew his grandmother was Jamaican; whenever he drank he’d rant on and on about visiting her in Jamaica and how amazing the tiny island country was. Whatever the reasoning behind their intentions however, Wes was pleased with the outcome. There were plenty of people there, most he knew but some he didn’t. The one that had his attention at the moment was the dark haired girl that arrived with his buddy Koda. He hadn’t had the manners to introduce the two yet, but already Wes could see that she was very pretty.
As he made his way over to her, a Dark & Stormy in his own hand, he saw a guy go up and talk to her. Frowning, he quickened his pace, only to hear the girl go off on him in a strong Jamaican accent. His face lit up; he’d recognize that accent anywhere. He followed her as she stalked off and quickly tapped her on the shoulder. “Pardon me miss, but where abouts in Jamaica are you from? Your accent sounds a little like my grandmammy but there’s a little bit of a different tone,” he asked, hoping she didn’t yell at him like the other guy.

Jade really wasn't an angry person. She just didn't like people mocking her accent... Or being accused of faking it. But the biggest pet peeve was people saying 'Ya mon' to her. She just... she hated it. Why did everyone think Jamaican's said that all the time?! Her biggest worry now was that every person she spoke to tonight was going to pull the stunt, and she wasn't sure if she could handle that many 'ya mon's.
She stopped when she felt a tap on her shoulder, someone trying to get her attention. For a moment, she thought it might be the same guy, but she was pretty sure she'd left him gaping, no way he'd recovered that quickly. She turned, brushed her black hair off her shoulder. There was a moment of surprise when she saw who it was. Well, more like the fact that she didn't recognize him in the least, but realized immediately that he was attractive. She blinked, surprised by what he was saying. He... recognized her accent...? "Oh, jus' outside Montego Bay." She responded quickly, her voice back to a normal volume. She didn't bother with the exact name of her town. Most people didn't even know the name of the 'big' cities in Jamaica. A few people had even been surprised when she told them there were cities... "Ya know Jamaica?" She asked skeptically. He said her accent was similar to his Grandmother's, which obviously made her Jamaican. She took a moment to take a sip from her beverage, finally smiling a bit. Shifting the glass into her left hand, she held out her right hand to shake his own, if he was willing. "Jade." She said confidently.

Wes' smile widened as Jade spoke to him nicely. Good, he hadn't caught the after-effect of the offensive nature of the British bloke she had been speaking to previously. "Oh Montego Bay, that's a lovely little resort area," he said, nodding as he took a sip of his drink. "My grandmammy is from Ocho Rios; she's a right famous herbolist and witch doctor to both Muggles and wizard folk," he told her, then raised an eyebrow. "Maybe you've heard of her? Her names Dayina," he asked. Ocho Rios and Montego Bay were about three hours apart so it was a longshot, but then again he knew just how far people traveled for her herbal remedies. "I went back there every other winter when my mum was alive, now it's when I have a chance to go see her. I miss it though - I love the sea," he admitted.
He shook her hand with his free one as well. "You can call me Wes," he said, then added "Jade's a pretty name." He drained the rest of his drink and eyed hers. "Listen, it's my birthday tonight, but why don't I get us refills?" he suggested. Before she could say anything, Wes was off, back at the bar ordering two more Dark & Stormys. He came back and handed her the full drink. "Cheers," he said, clinking his glass to hers and taking a sip.

For a moment, she was disappointed by him saying Montego Bay was a lovely resort area. It was, he was completely right. But did that meant he knew it because he'd vacationed there? "Lo's of touris's, ya." She responded, masking that slight disappointment. As he continued though, she felt her disappointment disappear. "Muggles?" She asked questioningly, what the hell was that? It took a moment until it made sense in her mind. Right, that's what they called non magical people here. "Oh, righ'. Still gettin' used ta yur terms for din's." Gosh, she felt embarrassed now! She didn't even know the proper names for things over here! Again, like before, that emotion disappeared as he continued. "Dayina? As in DE Dayina? Course I've 'eard of 'er! Secon' ta none in 'erbology. If ya need any 'elp, de firs' person ya go ta is 'er." Herbology was a big deal in Jamaica. And, as crazy as it sounded, so was Voodoo. It came over with slaves from Africa. The Wizarding community on the island in particular highly respected them, as it was an intricate form of magic. The fact that he was her grandson? Well, there was an immediate respect for this stranger in front of her.
Jade grinned as he said his name. Wes. "Danks. I like i' too." She answered confidently, though was flattered by his compliment. She finished her drink as he spoke, both eyebrows raised. She opened her mouth to response, and accept his offer, but he was already gone. Looks like he wasn't risking the chance of her saying no. She strangely liked that. His confidence. Soon he returned, two drinks in hand, and she grinned as she accepted it. "Cheers." She responded in unison, raising her glass and then taking a sip as well. "So, yur de one dis whole din' is for. I 'ope ya don' mind, Dakoda invited mi." She didn't add that Dakoda was her Quidditch captain. In her mind, that was either obvious, or totally unnecessary. Sure, Quidditch was a bigger deal here in Europe then the USA, but what if he wasn't a Quidditch fan?

Wes laughed joyfully as Jade grew excited in knowing who his grandmother was. “Yeah, that’s her. She helped me pass Herbology; I definitely would have failed if it wasn’t for her,” Wes admitted, thinking of Dayina fondly. She had so many stories from her long life; he still didn’t think he had heard them all yet either. “People go to her for the most outlandish things though; she had a few Muggles….they’re called Nomajs in the West for the most part I think? Anyway, they tried to get her to cure their cancer first through her Herbs then through Voodoo magic. But of course when they came back she’d already gotten in trouble with the British ministry, since it was when Jamaica still was under them. So she couldn’t heal him and he got so angry. Then my grandmammy said she’d curse his family if he didn’t leave and come to terms with his condition. He actually lived a good five years after he was supposed to, but they definitely lived in fear of her.” He laughed, and made a mental note to owl his grandmother soon to arrange a visit. He could use the sunshine and see; it had been rainy the past week in England and it was so dreadfully dreary.
“Now be honest, how much do you miss the sun and the sea? That was always what I looked forward to most here,” he asked her, gaging her reaction. Most people from Jamaica always liked the sun and sea but perhaps she was an outlier, and that was why she moved to England. His eyes lit up at the mention of Koda. “Koda is one of my best mates, I have no problem whatsoever with you being here,” he said genuinely. “I play Quidditch as well, have since my second year at Hogwarts when I was twelve. Do you play?” he asked her, curious.

Jade nodded as he went on to talk about his Grandmother. Without a doubt, she believed him. She'd never had need to call on a Witch doctor, but if she ever did... Well, she'd probably choose Dayina. Even then though, she'd have to be pretty dang desperate. You didn't want to get on the wrong side of a Witch Doctor. They weren't just healers, after all. They could dish out some of the most terrifying curses around. She'd built a good reputation on the island. She was smiling as he told the story. "Ya don' mess wid Witch Doctor's, if ya know wha's gud for ya. And ya definitely don' mess wid a well known one, like 'er." Thankfully she hadn't met anyone stupid enough to get on a Witch doctor's bad side.
The moment he mentioned missing the sun and sea, she let out a deep, dreamy sigh. "More den I wanna admi'. I was in Florida for a few years, before I moved 'ere. No' de same bu' plenty of sun and sea." It'd take a lot of getting used to, being here. And she'd probably need plenty of visits home. "When were ya las' in Jamaica?" She asked,
He. Played. Quidditch.
Immediately Jade's expression lighted up, making it obvious that she was extremely happy and her attention captivated. "Ya do?! I love Quidditch. I didn' play da' young, of course. We didn' 'ave a team a' mi school. No' officially. Mi friends and I learned ta play dough. Amazin' game." She loved Quidditch. End of story.

"Oh about two years ago; you actually reminded me I want to schedule a visit for like January. There's been some bad weather this fall and I refuse to Apparate there; why Apparate when you can fly I mean," Wes told her with a grin. "Florida's great too but there's nothing like the Caribbean. Climbing up Dunns River Falls without magic is a challenge but man does it feel rewarding to see that blue-green sea in the distance and all that lush green foliage," he added with a dreamy demeanor. His mum and he had climbed to the top of the falls when Wes was just seven years old; every time he went back to Jamaica now he did it in her memory. He never climbed with anyone before but the more he thought about it the more he wouldn't mind the company.
Wes beamed as Jade got excited about Quidditch talk. He was liking her more and more; and what wasn't to like? A pretty girl from Jamaica who played Quidditch? She had a lot of things going for her. As he opened his mouth to ask what team she played for, two of his buddies grabbed him by the shoulders. Birthday shots for the birthday boy! they exclaimed, making to pull Wes away from Jade. He laughed jovially and offered his hand to Jade. "Come on, it's my birthday so let's have some fun," he suggested, a wicked gleam in his eyes.

Two years, in her mind, was far to long to be away from Jamaica. She hadn't been home for over a year, before she moved to England, and only stopped for about a week before crossing the ocean. "Two years is a long time." Jade admitted aloud. As he went on to talk about the falls, she smiled brightly. She knew it, of course. She'd made the climb a few times over the years, usually with friends. "'ave ya ever been ta de Green Grotto Caves? No' ta far from Ocho Rios." Jamaica had some pretty spectacular sights, that was for sure. Even as a native, she knew she hadn't seen everything.
Jade wasn't usually.... Well, she was friendly, and outgoing, but she wasn't really flirtatious. Never had been. And she'd never been interested in a total stranger. Maybe it was the alcohol. Maybe it was the atmosphere of the Night club. Maybe it was the adventure of living in a new country and wanting to try new things. Either way, for some reason she... Well, she was interested in this stranger. This handsome, stranger that was understanding her accent without having her repeat a single word. It'd been so long (except for that week in Jamaica) since she'd felt.... well that understood! Where she didn't feel like the weird one because people just had no idea what she was saying. So when some of his friends came over and grabbed him, dragging him off for 'birthday shots', and Wes held out that hand, wanting her to come with? Well, she found herself wanting to go. She downed the rest of her drink, set the glass on a table, and took the offered hand, grinning as she was pulled along. "Le's see if ya Bri's know 'ow ta 'ave a gud time." She teased back.

Wes was happy Jade took his hand and his offer to do birthday shots. He’d had plenty of fun times while he was in Jamaica; Jamaican girls could certainly hold their own in the partying department. He vaguely remembered one time he’d done jell-o shots with a group of girls at a bachelorette party, and waking up the next morning with the maid of honor. Oh well, he thought to himself, you only live once after all. “I’ve never been to the Green Grotto Caves unfortunately. They’re on my list though. I’ve been to Negrill’s cliff jumping place, Rick’s Cafe I think it’s called,” he told her as his friends busied themselves by ordering shots for all of them. He plucked two of the Mezan Rum shots from the counter and handed one to Jade. “I imagine you’ve had this poison before? Mezan Rum from the glorious country you call home,” he said with a wink. “Cheers Jade,” he said, before downing the shot easily. Rum for him always went down like smooth honey, which could be why he had ended up in the maid of honors bed a few years ago. He was handed three more shots in succession and downed them easily, finally starting to feel the effects of the alcohol. He grinned over at Jade once more. “So can you say that we Brits know how to have a good time, or what?” he teased her.

Back at the bar counter, she leaned against it, smiling as his two friends went on a bit of a rampage ordering shots. Well, they were dang determined to get Wes stone cold drunk. And it looked like she was now a participant in this drinking game as Wes held out a shot glass to her. She grinned. "'ad i'? Ya won' find a better rum." That was one thing the Caribbean was known for that she didn't deny. Rum. They loved their rum. Mezan Rum happened to be one of the classics, made on the small island nation. Still grinning, she raised the glass to her lips and tilted her head back, downing it easily before setting the glass back on the counter. Just like that, he got several more shot glasses handed to him, each time Wes downed it no problem. Jade downed two more shots of rum before he finally spoke, and she laughed.
"No' ye'. Dere's still one more ding ya gotta do firs'." She responded, her voice teasing and flirtatious. She didn't explain quite yet what that 'one thing' was though, instead, she snatched one of the remaining shots and downed it. Only after that last shot and she could finally feel all the alcohol starting to make her head buzz did she look back at him. "Dance wid mi." That was a command, low and sultry, but a command none the less. Taking his hand, she backed away slowly from the bar, pulling him along towards the dance floor. She didn't care that his friends weren't done trying to pour alcohol down his throat. It took only a quick glance from her to make them stop from attempting to stop her.

Wes chuckled when Jade agreed - the rum from Jamaica was the best kind of rum. Put rum in any of their mixed drinks and immediately they tasted a thousand times better. "Well I'm glad we can agree on that," he said, smiling wide as Jade stole one of his shots. She was feisty and bold; it made her even more attractive to Wes, if that was possible. So when she instructed him to dance with her, he readily agreed. He let her lead him out to the dance floor and started to dance in sync with her. At first he kept himself a few inches away, but soon he'd looped an arm around her waist and grabbed her hand in his, spinning her around the dance floor. He laughed as they sometimes bumped into other people; he didn't care though, it was his birthday. He could dance however he wanted, bonus that it was with someone like Jade.
As the song ended, he leaned in, his face close to hers. "I need to use the restroom," he said, giving her waist a quick squeeze before walking towards the dark hallway that led to the bathroom. He glanced back once towards Jade, giving her a meaningful look.. One that meant he wouldn't mind if she was by the door when he came out.

Jade liked having a good time. And tonight? She was having a dang good time with Wes. The longer they danced the closer they got. At first they'd been a chaste distance from each other, respecting each other's personal space. But before the end of the song his arm was around her waist, her hand around the back of his neck and her other held by his own. She'd laugh each time he'd spin her, her dress billowing out as she twirled, and then again as she spun back into his arms.
Finally though the song ended and he pulled in close. His words weren't anything to really be concerned about. But the look he gave her? It spoke volumes. She raised an eyebrow at his slow retreat, but grinned when he glanced back. Silently urging her to follow. It was probably the alcohol, but she felt a small, flirty smile touch her lips as she moved off the dance floor and down the dark corridor that led to the bathroom. She leaned against the wall as she waited for him to come out, brushing her hair over her shoulder.

Wes came out of the restroom and was very pleasantly surprised to see Jade there. He walked towards her and put a hand against the wall right behind her. He leaned in close, their faces almost touching. "Hey," he said quietly, before closing the gap and kissing her firmly. It was like...electricity. Jade was a real woman, not a floozy girl who was a Quidditch groupie. She lived and breathed Quidditch like he did. And, she was from Jamaica! A country he always had a strong connection with; he'd be lying if he said it wasn't what half attracted her in the first place. He put his other hand around her waist and pulled her close, never breaking contact. He didn't care that this was right outside a bathroom at a bar where all his friends are. All he noticed right now was her, and everything about her. Hey man! Stop snogging and come do more shots! He felt himself begrudgingly be pulled away from Jade as his friends surrounded them. He grabbed her hand at the last second and pulled her along with him. As his friends turned to the bar he pulled her close again. "This might sound terribly bold, but do you want a place to stay tonight that would include me?" he whispered, kissing her quickly before turning back to the bar. @jade ooc: HAHA no shame there with Wes

Jade didn't move when he came out. Just kept leaning up against the wall and waited for him to come to her. They'd been trading turns going to, or following the other, almost like an intricate game of cat and mouse. As he got closer, she tilted her head up to keep her eyes focused on his own, still silently waiting for him to finish closing the distance. While she didn't say anything, her gaze was doing plenty of talking, urging him to move closer.
She really wasn't the sort to 'hook up' with a guy in a night club. Ever. Okay, maybe once or twice before, but considering how often she went to night clubs that was a pretty low number! And it never actually went anywhere. Just lasted the night, then she never heard from them again. She didn't really know where this was all going to go, but... Well she was feeling adventurous and daring. She wanted to have a wild and exciting night. Maybe that was the alcohol speaking, or the slight jet lag. Either way, Wes seemed like a pretty tempting adventure.
"'ey." She answered softly, finally leaning towards him just a bit to make it clear that she was open to his next advance. And then, his lips were against hers. Immediately she responded, returning the kiss. She could smell, and taste the rum on his breath and absolutely loved it. It was extremely attractive, and it made Jade press a little firmer against his lips and wrap her arms around his shoulders to pull him closer as his hand found her waist.
All to soon, Wes was pulled away by his friends, and the girl tsked softly, annoyed by the intrusion. Wes, pulled along by his friends, and Jade, pulled along by Wes, were quickly back to the bar for more shots. She leaned in close to Wes, slipping her hand from his and hooking her fingers through the belt loops of his jeans, grinning wickedly. He kissed her before she could respond, to which she immediately kissed him back before finally answering his question. "Terribly? I don' see anyding terrible abou' da'." She started, tilting her head a little to the side as she shifted so her back was against the bar and tugged hard enough on the belt loops she was currently holding hostage to try and pull him in front of her. "I dink... I's a pretty special day for ya, and I didn' bring a gif'... Is da' wha' ya wan' for a presen'?" Well, if that wasn't a yes, nothing was. A very teasing, and flirtatious yes.
