To say that Will was nervous would be a large understatement. He finally knew all the information for the Prime Ministers Ball this New Years Eve, which meant that he was ready to ask Isla. Well, sort of ready. Maybe not emotionally. He was worried she'd say no because of her feelings about the whole royal thing. Still, he wasn't a coward. He'd ask her and take the no if that's what came.
So, he arrived at her farm as they had pre-decided. He approached the door, realizing that he didn't even know if her father would be home or not. He lifted a hand, hestitated, and then knocked. He hoped Isla was in the house and not out and about in the yard. He should have checked there first, he realized, but it was too late now. He'd already knocked on the door. He'd wait a few moments before giving up and going around the back.

Isla's father hadn't been happy about the whole 'troll' incident. He'd been able to visit her in the hospital a few times, but not as often as he'd liked because he was running the farm. When she was finally discharged, he'd taken the healer's orders far to seriously, and basically banned her from doing any of the farm work. If he saw her doing anything she shouldn't, he'd shoo her back inside the house chastising her the entire way. One of the best things for her sanity since being home, but unable to work, was Will. He was probably just as protective as her father, but he didn't know how to get her back in line, so she was able to get away with a bit more.
Today Will was stopping by and she was, as always, very exciting. It was always nice to see your boyfriend- oh gosh, that thought made her blush. Of course he was her boyfriend, but it was so strange thinking that. Especially because he was in line for the British throne! She didn't think she'd ever get used to that. At least Will knew she wasn't with him because of his status. She was flipping through an old recipe book of her mother's, trying to decide what to make for dinner tonight, when she heard a knock at the door. Immediately she grinned. She was off the couch and across the room at an almost inhuman speed, obviously excited. As she yanked the front door open, she grinned even more. "Will, hey! Come in!" She chattered happily and excitedly.

Will chuckled as she excitedly answered the door, beckoning him inside. He stepped in and kissed her cheek, placing a hand on her waist. "Hello there," he said with his own large grin. There was nothing that could brighten up his smile like hers.
"How are you feeling?"he asked, his worry taking place on his face for a short moment. He worried about her way too much, especially since the troll incident. He was a worrier, anyone in his family would tell you that. He had spent most of his life being the father figure and therefore had developed an aggressively protective nature. Isla was now going to be a recipient of that.

Isla was always an excited person. Someone had once compared her to a puppy, just a ball of energy going a hundred miles an hour but with absolutely no control. Isla to a T, especially when she couldn't get all this energy out and had to 'take it easy'. Will's arrival was a good distraction though. She grinned up at him as he returned the greeting, then blushed as he kissed her cheek. It was such an.... Adorable and and endearing gesture, and she loved it.
She made a face as he asked how she was feeling. He'd been so protective of her since the accident. It was both great and a little annoying. Great because she liked how much he cared, annoying because he could stop her from doing something against the healer's orders. "Fine! Totally back to normal, I swear!" she answered enthusiastically. "How are you?" She took his hand and pulled him inside, closing the front door behind him.

Isla had always been hyperactive, but when you put a girl like that down for too long she's going to explode, and that's what she'd been doing every since they left the hospital. The face she made at him due to his worry caused the corner of his lip to curve upwards, a small smile trying to break free. She exclaimed, rather exuberantly, that she was totally back to normal. he knew better, but she'd let her have that one... for now. Then she asked how he was and he let her pull him inside, happily taking that hand of hers. "I'm doing pretty well, yeah. Had lunch with my siblings yesterday," he started. Yeah, that was a good lead in to what he wanted to ask her, right?
Once they were inside he kept his hand in hers, allowing her to guide him to whatever part of the house she wanted to go to for the time being. He still wondered if her dad was home, but he didn't ask yet.
