Vi supposed she began to realize just how much she cared for Dustin Bainbridge sometime after school had started. When he wasn't around, she constantly found her mind wandering to thoughts of him and his smile and his cockiness; just everything. She had thought about the idea of liking him more than she had thought she initially had, but it had never occurred to her that she was indeed in love with Dustin Bainbridge. And, oh, what a thing to be in love.
When the Quidditch player smiled at her, a small smile slowly appeared upon Viovinnia's face as well. Here they were, in a cabin; alone and in love. She was still almost too speechless to say anything until the loud thud broke her out of her trance and she quickly whipped out her wand. Perhaps it was the fighter in her always ready for a threat, but she quickly felt slightly embarrassed when Dustin seemed to not be too concerned about it. It was only after seeing his reaction that she thought about the sound having been snow. Slowly she put her wand away, cursing herself for her reflexes.
Vi couldn't help but smile widely as Dustin called his admittance of his feelings a "sappy love confession." “It sure was sappy," she agreed lightly. As Dustin offered her a change of clothes, Vi suddenly became aware of just how wet and cold she was. Their short lived confession had briefly allowed her to not focus on all that for a moment. “Sure," she shrugged. Trying to remain nonchalant, Viovinnia was actually jumping for joy inside.

Dustin thought that he had been jumpy, but Vinnie really took the cake when it came to irrational actions based upon fear. They were on a mountain in the middle of nowhere; the chances that they would need a wand for the source of the mysterious noise were tiny. It was probably just snow from the storm falling on the roof. There weren’t any predators in the French Alps…right? He really wished that he had an encyclopedia (or, even better, his father’s computer) to find the answer to that question, but right now he was just hoping that they had both been overreacting to the noise.
“Too bad this isn’t our third date.” Dustin said with an impish smile. “We could have fulfilled every romcom trope in the book by now.” If he told anyone else, they probably never would believe that Dustin had gotten Viovinnia to take her clothes off, circumstances notwithstanding. No one would believe most of what had been said in the cabin so far, which was a shame. People probably wouldn’t even believe that his girlfriend was capable of love, which was a shame. Vinnie definitely didn’t express it in the same way as a lot of people, but as he had thought just after her half-confession, Dustin didn’t need her to say it out loud. “My suitcase is in the bedroom, by the way. There’s only one. Bedroom, that is. So if you don’t want to share a bed or something, I can sleep on the sofa.” He could Transfigure it into something passable for the few nights that they would be staying there.

Viovinnia was certainly not used to being out in the middle of nowhere, completely... safe from any harm. Growing up as a Nott, she wasn't always exactly around the safest individuals. So it was an oddly... comforting feeling that she had mostly just overreacted to the sound on the roof. Though, it was a little disappointing... she would love a reason to finally be able to use her magic outside of school.
Vi looked at Dustin and tilted her head slightly to the side, her eyebrows narrowing in confusion. "A romcom?" She asked, slightly chuckling at the odd word. When Dustin then mentioned there only being one room, Vi felt her heart skip a little excited beat. "Oh," she said, pretending to remain calm about the bedroom situation. “Well. We'll make it work." She nodded once. The idea of sharing a bed with Dustin was an oddly frightening yet exciting idea.

Vinnie was adorably oblivious to Muggle culture, and Dustin supposed that was to be expected when it came to her lineage and upbringing. “It’s short for romantic comedy. It’s a type of movie.” He explained, unsure whether to roll his eyes at her or just keep grinning like an overzealous goof. “Basically, all you need to know is that there’s always a happy ending. The guy and the girl normally fight, but they always make up. It’s supposed to be light-hearted and make you believe in love…or something.” Dustin added on the last bit mostly because he was afraid that his explanation had been a little to in depth to be played as nonchalant. It wasn’t like Viovinnia would care, but he had a reputation to uphold, and he couldn’t keep slipping about how sappy he really was.
“Does this mean I get to sleep in the bed?” Dustin asked when Vinnie said that they’d make the situation work. The idea of curling up next to her was appealing, to say the least, especially since it was so cold outside, and they’d be underneath a mound of quilts and sheets and afghans. They could make a blanket fort, if they wanted to. “Wait.” He said, shaking his head before she could answer. “We can talk about it after you change.” Realistically, they could probably cast a couple Warming Charms on the robes, but Dustin was looking forward to seeing Viovinnia wear his robes.

Vi raised an eyebrow at Dustin's explanation of a 'romcom.' She wasn't typically a fan of movies. Viovinnia preferred a book over moving pictures any day. Though, she was certain she would make an exception for any Dustin would show her. She smirked at his little addition. “Well, then. I'd say we've got the whole 'romcom' thing pretty much down, huh?" She still wasn't completely sold on the term, but Dustin had done a pretty good enough job at explaining it. Though she and Dustin had never fought before, they were always teasing one another relentlessly and it always did feel lighthearted. And, as corny as it was, Dustin was really helping Vi to believe in love.
“Good idea," the Slytherin nodded once as Dustin answered his own question. “I'll be right back then." And she turned to head to one of the very few doors inside of the cabin. She turned the doorknob and peeked inside, revealing that this door did hide the bedroom. The bed looked cozy, covered in all sorts of quilts and afghans. She found herself wanting to wrap up in it right then and there but her eyes found Dustin's bag. She glanced up at the door that led back out to where Dustin was then down at the bag. She felt slightly awkward having to dig through his things, but she really liked the idea of getting to wear his things.
After a minute, Vi exited the bedroom and her eyes found Dustin's. “I took the liberty of taking what looked like the most comfortable clothes in there," she smirked as she gave one small twirl back into the room. She was wearing one of his plain white t-shirts and a pair of sweatpants that were clearly only the slightest bit too big for her. But they were warm and comfortable and they even smelled like Dustin. All a plus.

Dustin nodded in agreement when Vinnie said that they had gotten the romcom thing down. There were other things to focus on, like the way she looked. No one had ever told Dustin that girls looked good in boy’s clothing, and he was upset about that. He had been missing out on a lot. His mouth had gone dry the moment Vinnie had stepped out of the bedroom, wearing one his white t-shirts and sweatpants that were slung low on her hips, probably due to the fact that they were too big for her. The thoughts that were running through his head were not appropriate on any level, and it took him a moment or two to swallow back his lust. He cleared his throat, and stepped forward to wrap his arms around her waist. “You look amazing in my clothes.” Despite the fact that he had cleared his throat, Dustin’s voice still came out low and husky. If this had been any other girl, Dustin would have made some quip about how she would look even better out of his clothes, but this was his girlfriend who he had just professed his love for, and she was the only girl Dustin had dated that he would rather cuddle with than do other things with. That didn’t mean that he wasn’t above a little bit of teasing, though, and the Gryffindor leaned down to kiss his girlfriend on her jaw.
Another thump sounded against the roof, and Dustin muttered a curse underneath his breath. He had squeezed Vinnie closer to him as a reflex, and there was no way that he could pretend he wasn’t startled by the noise. He didn’t, however, have to show that the second noise in as many minutes had shaken him more than just surprise. “There’s a ghost in the attic.” He whispered conspiratorially. It was a joke, sort of – at least they knew how to deal with ghosts. Mysterious bumps in the night, not so much.

There was a moment where Viovinnia looked at Dustin and just narrowed her eyes at him as he stood there, wondering why it took him longer than a second to respond. Though when he stepped forward and moved to wrap his arms around her waist, a satisfactory smirk spread across her lips. "Better than you do, that's for sure," she teased him through a smile as he planted a kiss on her jaw.
When the next thump came, Vi just immediately looked up at the roof. For a moment, she debated going out there and seeing just what it was but the rational part of her kept telling her it had to be snow falling from a tree or something. They were in the Alps, for Merlin's sake! Vi's eyes narrowed into a playful glare at Dustin as he joked about there being a ghost. "You'd better hope it's a ghost, of all things," she threatened just as playfully.

Dustin chuckled when Vinnie said that she looked better in his clothes than he did. “I thought that went without saying.” He teased softly. Dustin actually couldn’t think of a single thing that he could wear that his girlfriend wouldn’t look better in. Every time he thought of a new article of clothing, it became even harder for him to focus, because the idea of Viovinnia wearing his Quidditch uniform…He had to breathe slowly to keep himself from accidentally blurting that thought out loud. He was certain that Vinnie would have laughed at him if he had dared to bring the thought up, but it was definitely an image he was going to carry in his head for quite a while.
“What else would it be?” Dustin asked, trying to be nonchalant about it. “A bear or something?” Dustin knew that he was supposed to be courageous and such, but it wasn’t him that he was worried about. Not that he wouldn’t mind if he was mauled by a bear, but there was a certain person that he’d rather keep alive. “You know what? I think I read once that bears are confused by beds. We should go to bed.” It was still around four o’clock, but the sun was going to be sinking soon since it was near the shortest day of the year. Dustin couldn’t think of a single logical reason not to seize this opportunity to cuddle with Viovinnia.

Vi smirked. One thing she loved about Dustin was he seemed to have the same type of humor bone she did. The two were always teasing one another to some degree but the other always seemed to play along with the teasing just fine. She was glad they both had pretty big egos, too. Neither one was larger than the other, really, so it seemed that the two balanced one another out perfectly. In short... Vi couldn't see herself with anyone else.
The Slytherin tried not to laugh at Dustin's suggestion of a bear. Though, his suggestion of going to bed to 'confuse the bear' actually got a chuckle out of the blonde. "At this hour?" She said, looking at him with a smile. Then, Vi thought of how they had spent their first date in the Shrieking Shack discussing their hypothetical future together and talking about their pretend two and a half kids and she decided this would be another perfect moment to play pretend with Dustin again. "Well, if it confuses bears..." She shrugged, giving in the suggestion. She was quite tired, after all. And maybe sharing a bed with Dustin wouldn't be so terrible... in fact, she was certain she was going to love it.

Dustin rolled his eyes at Vinnie when she acted like going to bed at half past four in the afternoon was an absurd idea. It was, of course, but he wasn’t going to admit that. “We’re on vacation.” He said dismissively. “We can party all night and sleep all day.” Dustin thought that might have been a lyric to one of the old Muggle songs his dad was fond of listening to, but he couldn’t be sure. “Or, even better, sleep all night, and sleep all day…” He said, trailing off. Dustin was one of those kinds of people who sometimes forgot to sleep, and then put themselves so far into sleep debt that he hibernated for twenty-four hours at a time. Of course, Vinnie would have no reason to know that, so she’d probably just think he was continuing the joke.
“If confusing bears is the only reason, I’m rescinding my offer.” Dustin said, sniffing haughtily in what he hoped was a good impression of some stuck-up pureblood boy. Maybe that was what River was like, and that was why Vinnie didn’t like him. Dustin pushed open the door to the bedroom, knowing that even if his girlfriend insisted that she was only going to bed for the purpose of the maybe-bear, he would end up getting in with her anyways.

Viovinnia raised her eyebrows at the very idea Dustin suggested. Vi was a very active individual; she was an early riser more than anything. She actually couldn't even think of a time which she had slept all day before. It was not something a Nott regularly did. "I'll warn you now, I'm a morning person," she said, raising her right index finger and waving it at him pretending to be threatening.
The young Nott could not help the little smile that spread across her lips as Dustin made a little haughty sniff. She followed just behind Dustin as he opened the bedroom door. She had to admit, felt a little nervous. It wasn't like Viovinnia Nott to get anxious in such a way... she was glad that Dustin Bainbridge seemed to be the only one to have such an effect on her. She tried to seem nonchalant as she laid herself down on one side of the bed, her back completely flat against the mattress as she stared up at the ceiling. "I guess I am quite tired," she mused aloud.

Viovinnia was a morning person. Dustin hadn’t expected that, but in hindsight, it seemed rather obvious that someone raised in an environment as strict as hers would be an early riser out of necessity. If you’re made to do something enough times, you begin to enjoy it, Dustin figured – he had never much liked running, but it had become a part of his daily routine so that he could be in good enough physical shape for Quidditch, and now he didn’t mind it as much, though enjoyment would be a stretch. “Maybe you should go home, then.” Dustin teased softly. He brushed the back of his hand against Viovinnia’s, just a whisper of a touch, to let her know that he was just kidding – if she actually tried to leave, she was going to find herself pinned to the floor by a strong, slightly angry, Quidditch player.
When Vinnie slid into the bed, Dustin hopped onto the opposite side, causing the mattress to bounce a little bit. Dustin didn’t lay down, deciding instead to jostle the bed, which once again bounced pleasantly. Before he knew what he was doing, Dustin had clambered to his feet, grinning wickedly as he launched himself into the air and then landed on the bed. Once again the mattress leapt underneath he sudden change of weight, and Dustin laughed. “C’mon, Vinnie!” He shouted. Forget sleep – they needed to give this bed a proper bouncing.

Vi thought for a moment about waking up later in the day. While the idea was almost foreign to her, she thought that... if Dustin were beside her, would she even want to get up? She had a slight inkling that she would likely want to stay firmly planted beside him. At the slight touch of his hand against hers, Vi bit her lip behind a smirk. "Maybe I will. Or, I'll just make you wake up early for a change," she threatened teasingly.
The Slytherin bit her lip to stop herself from chuckling as the Quidditch player jumped into the bed, causing her to bounce slightly upon the mattress. She watched him with raised eyebrows and wide eyes as Dustin got to his feet. She felt like she could see it coming before it happened... he bounced. She shouldn't have been as surprised as she was, but she chuckled nonetheless as she sat up. "Are you trying to break it in?!" She asked through a little laugh. His nickname for her really made Viovinnia feel like it was impossible to resist his playfulness and she, too, stood up on the bed on her feet. Though she felt awkward as she did so; Vi had never really grown up playing in such a way. With a little breath, she leapt up once and as she came back down, her hands found Dustin's arms for support.

Waking up earlier definitely sounded a lot more appealing when Dustin envisioned Viovinnia's head on the pillow beside his. He would wake up early just to be able to watch her sleep. It sounded strange, but Vi was one of those people who always had her guard up - it would be nice to see her when she was relaxed, with no inhibitions. Dustin liked to think he saw that part of her, sometimes, but he never really knew for sure.
Vinnie looked so surprised when he bounces, but also like she had expected it. Dustin roared out a laugh when she asked if he was trying to break the bed in. "There are much better ways to break it in." He replied, not even bothering to hide the innuendo in his statement. "I'm trying to get you to have some fun! We're young, in love, and in the middle of nowhere - there's no need to be so serious!" Apparently Vinnie hadn't needed much convincing, because she clambered to her feet and gave a tentative bounce, grabbing on to Dustin's arms on her way down. "When I was little, we used to do this for hours." Dustin said, launching himself in the air - Vi would either have to let go of his arms or bounce with him. "It was the first step in falling in love with flying, for me." He informed her. There was a half a moment in the air where you felt weightless, and when he was little, that was the half a moment Dustin had lived for.

Truthfully the idea of sleeping next to Dustin was a little scary. Sleeping was really one of the very few times Vi could let her guard down and the thought of letting that wall down scared her. But, she had been pretty unsure about Dustin since the moment she had met him and yet, here they were. And she was SO sure she was in love with him.
Vi glared at Dustin when he made the little comment about breaking the bed in in other ways. She decided not to justify that one with a response. The Slytherin, still slightly unsure at the prospect of jumping on a bed raised an eyebrow at Dustin. She couldn't imagine having done this as a child for fun. No, fun for Viovinnia as a child was going for a long, outdoor run near the creek or reading a leisurely book when a study one wasn't shoved in her face. Vi found herself not letting go of Dustin's arms, though. It felt right to grab a hold of him, so she hadn't let go when he started launching into the air, giving Vi no choice but to also bounce up with him. As she did, she could see what he meant by fun. She felt butterflies in her stomach.
The fun and the butterflies was then interrupted by an even bigger thud and kerplunk on the roof, followed by what sounded like something moving down and off the roof. In all the excitement, it frightened Viovinnia more than it had previously and she found herself ceasing with the bouncing and quickly wrapping her arms clumsily around Dustin.
