Explosion Elixir
1. Use a silver cauldron - other kinds may interact with the volatile ingredients. 2. Stabilise 4 parts erumpent exploding fluid with 1 part powdered dragon scale and 2 parts powdered erumpent horn. 3. Add 2 drops of lavender essence, 1 fresh spearmint leaf (crushed), and two 3 poppy seeds for each cup of the thick mixture. 4. Heat very slowly until the scale and horn dissolves. The heat should be no more than 50oC. DO NOT BOIL. 5. Allow to cool to room temperature in the cauldron before scooping into bottles.
The resulting mixture is considered to be stabilised, in that it will need to be heated above 80oC to explode. This is enough to prevent any accidents. However, it should still be treated with caution.
For remote detonation:
The trigger is a series of small wooden charms connected with the Protean Charm. When one is set alight, boiled, or otherwise reaches the critical temperature, all the connected wooden charms will as well. This is enough to trigger the explosion elixir, causing synchronised explosions. Accordingly, they can then be triggered from any spot in the country.
This technique should work for any number of other potions for damage of different sorts - swelling potions, forgetfulness potions, etc.
