harper leaned against one of the stone fences that bordered the little park on the edge of the small town of hogsmeade. she had sent an owl to her cousin asking her to meet there. it had been months she had caught up with anna and aside from a few sporadic owls here and there she was glad to be able to see her in person. she had a small present in her bag, she had picked something up for all of her cousins along her travels and now was the perfect time to give it to her and also to congratulate her on being the hogwarts champion. she had missed the first task but she was planning on going to watch the second one when it was on, if she wasn't in romania but she had every intention of making the third under pain of death. she wished now that she'd brought anna a spell book or something while she had been in another country in case there had been something in there she could use but alas they hadn't gone near any and it hard to do anything on her own with the people she'd been with. so she hoped the sweater she had tucked up in her bag for anna would still be nice for her cousin. she ran a hand through her hair as she waited, tugging her jacket closer a little as the wind started to pick up, blowing some of the fallen snow around her.

It was cold, but Anna tried to ignore that as she moved through the buildings in Hogsmeade. Harper sent her an owl a short while ago, asking her to meet here and Anna was on her way. Her nose was tingling from the cold, but she wouldn't let that stop her. She hadn't seen Harper much since she'd graduated Hogwarts, so she efinitely wasn't going to miss this chance. Also, she was a little bit curious about what her cousin wanted. "Harper," she said with an easy smile when she saw her cousin. "How are you doing?" Anna shivered slightly when she realized that snow was falling again. Well, that was one of the parts of winter. It shouldn't be too much of a surprise. "Also, mind if we go in somewhere. It's kind of cold out here," she said with a smile. If Harper wanted to stay out it the snow, but Anna didn't really want to.

"Harper," harper moved forward from the wall she had been leaning against when she saw the familiar red hed of her cousin, anna. "anna! glad you could make it." she said as she took the last few steps forward to meet anna on the path. "How are you doing?" she smiled as she brushed her hair out of her face with one of her gloved hands as the wind decided once again to pick up and blow the fresh power of snow around them. "i'm good. glad to be home in the misery that mother nature calls weather." she said with a laugh as she tucked her arms in front of her chest. "Also, mind if we go in somewhere. It's kind of cold out here," she nodded and moved to link one of her arms through annas. "i don't mind at all. it's a bit nippy." she said with a smile as she started to walk back toward the main strip of the town. "anywhere you'd like. my shout."

Anna smiled when she and her cousin actually met up. It had been way too long since she last saw Harper and it was nice running into her here. "Really, you're glad to be out in this?" she teased, even though she was a little bit serious. As a general rule, Anna was not one who particularly enjoyed being cold or wet, which made winter one of her least favorite times, but there were also a lot of fun things to do that helped make up for it. She nodded when Harper linked arms with her and they walked down the street a little bit. The wind picked up and Anna shivered, turning toward the nearest shop. "Let's go in here for a minute," she said, gesturing to the music shop. She walked inside and looked around for a second. Anna didn't really know instruments at all, but they were still beautiful to look at. Really, she just wanted to get out of the cold.

"Really, you're glad to be out in this?" harper shrugged a little. it might have been cold but she was getting used to the weather again. it had been more of a shock for her to go from cold to warm, rather than from warm to cold. "call me crazy?" she said with a slight laugh as she linked her arm into her cousins. she felt the wind pick up as they walked and she turned to look at anna when she shivered and she smiled slightly. "it is a tad cold." she said as anna suggested they go into the music store. "Let's go in here for a minute," it happened to be the closest one to where they were walking past and she had no objections to spending a few minutes in there while they both warmed. she rubbed her hands together as they walked into the store and she looked around. "oh this looks fun." she said as she moved to a piano that was sitting in the window. it was almost a picturesque setting. the piano had candles resting on the top of it and the snow behind them made it look like a winter scene from a movie. she looked back at anna with a smile as she started testing out the sound of the instrument. she wasn't a piano player by any means but she had dabbled in the art of music once or twice while growing up, since a few members of her family had been blessed with the musical touch.

Anna laughed, "Well it definitely wouldn't be the first time I call you crazy," she said with a smile. "but I know you won't take that to heart too much." At least, she hadn't before. Anna always felt like she and Harper got along fairly well. Honestly though, Anna got along well with almost all of her cousins so that wasn't too much of a surprise. She rolled her eyes when Harper said that it was a tad cold. "Then I definitely don't want to experience what your version of real cold is then," she muttered. When Harper headed over to a piano and started playing the keys, Anna followed her. She didn't know how to play musical instruments at all, but if Harper played something she knew, Anna would definitely sing along. Especially because no one she knew was actually in the store with them. That made the whole situation a little easier. "What are you going to play?" She asked shortly.

"Well it definitely wouldn't be the first time I call you crazy, but I know you won't take that to heart too much." harper laughed and shook her head slightly. she couldn't deny, there was some crazy that ran through her and her siblings. gifted to them by their mother but she loved it. it gave her the courage and freedom to do the things some people wouldn't. "well it's impossible to deny that there's a crazy streak in me!" she said with a grin. "Then I definitely don't want to experience what your version of real cold is then," laughing again, harper just rolled her eyes this time. she had felt cold before but it wasn't as brutal as some people thought it was. at least not to her, but everyone felt things differently, she just handled cold better. unless she'd spent months in warm climates, then it was a little unpleasant to come back to cold. "What are you going to play?" she looked back at anna and pressed some of the notes on the keyboard. she didn't know any real songs and the ones she'd learned as a child were all simple childrens songs and she wasn't sure she could even play them anymore! "i was just going to play random notes." she said with a smile as she shifted over on the little stool and patted it so anna could sit down next to her.

Anna laughed, "I'd be concerned if you tried to deny it," she teased. It was fun to spend time with cousins and Harper was one of the more exciting ones ... though Dom and Lily could give her a run for her money if they were in the mood. Once inside the shop, Anna was wandering around the aisles, looking at the different instruments and touching them lightly. Harper said she was just going to play around on the piano and motioned for Anna to join her. Anna sat on her right, where the higher notes were. She lifted a hand and touched the keys, pushing them down lightly. "That's good, because if you're expecting me to play something, I can't." She'd never had much time for instruments, but she did think that the music they created was often beautiful. She turned to her cousin with a smile, "So did you have anything in mind for this afternoon or did you just want to catch up?" Anna didn't really care either way, but if Harper did have something crazy planned, it wouldn't hurt to have a little forewarning.

"That's good, because if you're expecting me to play something, I can't." she smiled as she pressed some of the keys down her end of the piano. she often found that with a piano, so long as you found a decent rythm it was pretty hard to play one badly. you didn't play it well by any means but it was possible to make it sound nice. "neither can i really." she said as she worked her fingers up toward the middle lightly. she smiled and leaned her arm down on the small lip of wood that bordered the keyboard and she looked at anna. So did you have anything in mind for this afternoon or did you just want to catch up?" well she hadn't really but between the two of them it wouldn't be hard to come up with something. "hmm. well we could go do something? but we'd have to get past the wardens." she said with a smile as she pointed out the window towards one of the teachers who was standing talking to a student.

Anna smiled when Harper said that she couldn't really play a piano either. It didn't really matter, her tinkering with it sounded nice enough. It wasn't really a melody or a song, but it sounded nice. She watched as a spark of excitement seemed to enter Harper's eyes. This was one of the reasons Anna was as laid back as she was. With Dom, Lily and Harper as cousins things were never boring. It was always quite easy to find a way to entertain yourself with any of them. She grinned at Harper's comment. "Well, aren't you an expert at that?" she teased as she raised her eyebrows playfully. Then she shrugged, "But if you want to wander around here, I'm fine with that too. I'll be content with whatever." Really, she would. Excitement was fun, but so were peaceful activities. She'd just follow Harper's lead today.
