Edmund was furious. As he stalked around outside, trying to find a place where he could be alone, he couldn't seem to calm his anger. The scene he just witnessed flashed through his mind repeatedly, the vision of Addi and Daryl kissing. Why would she do something like that? And after he was finally ready to make their relationship known to his family. Tonight was supposed to be a night all about them and she went off and ... he tried to stop thinking about it, but it seemed impossible.
When he finally found a small bench beside a hedge in a corner outside, he sat in it and put his head in his hands, entirely ignoring the world around him. What was he supposed to do now? Obviously he couldn't trust her. After her being so upset about that stupid article and the insinuation that something happened between him and Theodosia- which nothing did- it was so ironic that she would kiss someone else in public. He didn't want to deal with it. A part of him wanted to be invisible because he couldn't be with her anymore. Not after that. She hadn't even tried to stop him when he left the room quickly. Obviously she didn't care.

@edmund <3 Edmund.
That's all that was on her mind right now. She couldn't think of anything. Not what had just happened. Not who's lips had been on hers. Not her brother standing in the two of them. Not Grey's voice telling her where Edmund had gone. Just Edmund. Just his face, the look of anger and betrayal, and him storming out of the dance. Addi didn't know what heartbreak felt like, but she was sure this was it. Her feet moved faster than her brain, and she had ran after Edmund, her long black dress flowing out behind her as she ran through the crowd and out of The Great Hall, leaving Grey and Daryl behind.
She threw open the door to the outside, looking left and right frantically. "Edmund! Edmund where are you?" Addi yelled out, tears falling down her face, completely ignoring all of the other students outside. Everywhere she looked, she couldn't find him. Not in the food stalls, not in the area right outside the door. Becoming slightly frantic, she ran through the courtyard and ended up looking at every bench possible. When her eyes finally found her favorite freckled face, she smiled, and then it quickly disappeared. Addi didn't walk much closer, just spoke quietly. "E..."

It was cold outside and Edmund was sure he felt more cold than it actually was because of his emotions at the moment. Part of him felt numb, tried to convince him that it wasn't true, that all this couldn't have happened, but the other part of him knew that it had. And he was furious because of that.
Then he heard her voice. As conflicted as he was, he wasn't sure if looking at her was a good idea right now. He was not going to be nice. She broke his heart, right when he thought everything was going well with them. At least he hadn't already told his family they were dating yet. That saved him from conversations that he would rather not have.
He took a deep breath, wanting to lash out at her verbally but trying to force himself not to. He promised that he wouldn't a while ago and while he was so angry at her, he didn't want to break his promise. "What do you want?" he muttered, still not looking up at her. He couldn't. Not right now.

@edmund <3 He didn't move. He just stared downwards, and Addilyn swallowed stiffly. This wasn't how she expected this night to end up. This was all going wrong, and while all she wanted to do was be angry at Daryl for what happened, her whole heart and focus was on Edmund and how he was hurting. She heard him mutter, and Addilyn sighed, her whole body slouching, a few tears falling down her cheeks. She took one step forward, slowly, not wanting to get too close and angering him. "I want you, Edmund...I want to talk to you. What you saw, it wasn't what you think. He kissed me, I pushed him away..."
For some terrible reason, Addilyn didn't think he'd believe her. He saw it from a terrible view, behind Daryl, and only saw Addilyn's hands on his chest, and not pushing him away. She felt the doubt in the pit of her stomach, and it was like her throat was closing up. Her eyes were burning with the tears she didn't want to let fall, and her body was shaking slightly. Not because of the cold, but because of the worry and terrible way she felt.

She kept her distance, but Edmund could hear the trembling in Addi's voice as she spoke to him. She was upset, clearly, but so was he. He didn't want to hurt her, but she started it. He was still going to keep his promise, but he couldn't listen to this. He cared too much to just stand by and listen to her talk about this. He saw what happened.
He shook his head before standing up, still not making eye contact. Heck, he wasn't even looking at her. "Sorry Adds. I saw what happened, and it sure didn't look like you wanted me when you stood there kissing him. I- I've got to go." Edmund walked past her, still not looking at the girl he cared about more than almost anything else. He loved her, but he couldn't handle the pain that was in his heart right now. He moved toward the castle, determined to find someplace where he could be alone. Someplace where she would not find him.
@jill2 (Sorry he's leaving so soon. She can go after him or let him go ... whatever you want)
