Ever since Vic had a received a letter from her sister stating that she felt like she had to be happy all the time, she had been worried. It wasn't healthy to force yourself to be happy, though Victoire couldn't say that from personal experience, exactly. She had invited her sister to stay at her apartment for a couple of days that month, to give Dom the time she needed to work through all of her emotions and not be happy for a little while, away from the eyes of the rest of the student body. If the Yule Ball hadn't happened, Victoire probably would have asked Dom to visit her over Christmas, but as things were, her sister had stayed at Hogwarts over break and attended the Ball with Ranger Lloyd. Victoire had cleared the visit with the proper authorities, and was currently waiting in the Great Hall for her sister to come down.

Today was the day. Somehow Vic got everything in order and she was taking Dom away from school for a bit. Not that Dom was surprised about it; Vic told her she would do this and Dom knew Vic kept her word. Still, a part of her hoped it wouldn't happen. She was anxious about the next few days. Dom wasn't good when it came to talking about her feelings, unless she was talking about something she was really excited for. But talking about Ethan? She hadn't been able to do that ever. As she left the school, she felt a little more relaxed than she thought she would. That was probably thanks to Sèamus. She ran into him on her way and for some reason talking to her for a few minutes helped her relax a bit. She saw her sister and stepped forward, smiling. "Hi, Vic," Dom greeted with a wide smile. "You ready to leave?" Dom was. If they were going to leave, she wanted to do it already. She was too anxious about whatever was going to happen during the next few days.

Vic wasn’t waiting for long when Dominique appeared, with a smile on her face. Considering their conversation about always having to be happy, it wasn’t a surprise, but soon Victoire knew that the smile wasn’t going to be there anymore. She knew talking about Ethan was going to be difficult for Dominique, but Vic hoped that getting to talk about it would help Dom move forward in her life, in whatever way that happened to mean. “Hi, Dommie.” Victoire greeted with a returning smile. “I’m ready to go when you are.” She responded. She had cleared her calendar, at least as much as it could be cleared, for the next few days, so this was really going to happen. “Do you want me to carry one of your bags?” Vic asked. She had arranged for them to use a fireplace on the main floor to leave via the Floo Network, but carrying Dominique’s bag was still her duty as a helpful big sister and all.

When Vic said that she was ready whenever Dom was, Dom glanced around the Entrance Hall. Surprisingly enough, no one was around. Which meant that Dom didn't have any reasons to delay leaving. Of course, it was only now that she was leaving that she realized she hadn't told anyone she was going. At least, she hadn't told anyone except Sèamus. And she only told him because she ran into him on her way to meet Vic. Some of her friends might end up being concerned. Oh well, that'd make it a little more exciting to come back, probably. "I'm ready," she answered, moving closer to her sister. She was carrying one bag in each hand and was perfectly capable of taking care of them herself, but when Vic asked Dom decided to let her help. She knew it would make Vic feel more helpful, in the very least. "Sure," she said, lifting her right arm to hand that bag to her sister. "Lead the way," she commented, not exactly sure how they were supposed to leave the grounds, but ready to follow her sister. Dom was quieter than normal, which she was sure Vic would notice, but she was also positive her sister would know why.
