Finn wondered if there would ever be a day off in his future, but from the look of his schedule and with Rai's departure it did not seem very likely. Shame too; he was itching to get back to London and go to the food festival being held at Camden Market. But here he was, patrolling the edge of the Forbidden Forest for any students who decided that they were savvy enough to be out at night in the woods. As he walked past one of the paths, he thought he heard a rustling coming from within the bushes. Frowning, he lit his wand and held it high. He inched forward, and the bush quivered again. Scoffing, he called out "Come on out, show yourselves and you won't be in trouble." The bush was silent again, then suddenly something jumped out. "What-" Finn threw his arms over his face and he felt whatever it was pierce his foreharm. He hissed in pain, but the creature had already trampled off into the woods. "Bloody hell," he groaned, the cut was bleeding and felt all too warm for just a little cut. While his head was clear, Finn raced back up to the castle and onto the first floor. By the time he burst through the hospital wing, his head was feeling fuzzy and clouded. "Help...manticore....loose in the forest," he managed to get out, before collapsing on the floor. @jill11

@finn <3 It was her night shift. Hannah had spent most of the day at the Cauldron doing most of the weekly work that needed to be caught up on; payroll, any interviews, stuff like that. Raleigh had been holding down the fort very well so far while Hannah was away and at Hogwarts. She was incredibly glad for that, especially because it gave her a reason to continue on with her other job and see her family more. But sometimes she did miss just being there all the time.
There was not one single person in the Hospital Wing that night, so Hannah was just sitting at the desk in the large room doing some paperwork. Thankfully they only needed one person on duty overnight, unless there were other students, but some company would've been nice. Though...the company that appeared was not the exact one she had in mind. One of the Auror's in Training stumbled through the door, breathless and bloody, and Hannah stood up quickly, concern etching across her face. He passed out and fell to the floor, and with a flick of her wand Hannah sent a message of her Patronus to Neville, warning him of the Manticore. She levitated him over to the nearest bed and immediately went to the medicine cabinet, grabbing a potion to help with the blood loss and pain. As soon as Hannah tipped it down his throat, she went to mend the cut on his arm, sitting next to him, face scrunched in concentration.

Finn didn't know how long he was out, hours, minutes? But in his unconscious state he had feverish dreams; distorted faces and strangled yells, and neon colors. Finally, the dreams faded into a blissful black, and after some time, Finn stirred and opened his eyes. Slowly the hospital wing came into focus and he sat up with a small groan. He looked around, then down at his arm. Whoever had healed his arm had done the job; he could see the scar from the cut but it was just a little sore instead of the searing pain he had felt at the time of impact. He noticed that there was a nurse with brown hair turned away from him and he cleared his throat a little, alerting her that he was awake so if she needed to give him anything, potion or whatnot, she could. As she turned though, Finn realized it was Hannah Longbottom, the Headmasters' wife. He was momentarily speechless, thinking that she had been the landlady at the Leaky Cauldron for as long as he could remember. "Madam Longbottom," he said, rather formally. "I think I mentioned this, but I believe the manitcore used in the maze got free from wherever it was being kept and is now in the Forest living," he reported, rubbing the spot where he had been scratched gently. @jill11

@finn <3 After Hannah had finished taking care of the young man in front of her, she had begun writing down some of his paperwork. He had been asleep for a few hours, which was a good sign. He was breathing properly, his temperature was normal and he was no longer sweating. The cut from the manticore was now scarring, and Hannah had just been waiting on word from Neville. Her Patronus had alerted him and he had sent a quick one back letting her know he had already sent some other Aurors on their way to find it.
A small cough had Hannah spinning around in her chair, a raised eyebrow. Well, he was awake! She stood up and moved over to him, grabbing the thermometer and placing it on his forehead, listening to him speak. Oh, he called her Madam Longbottom. Hannah laughed, shaking he head. "Please, call me Hannah. You are an adult, aren't you? Finneus Jordan, am I correct?" She had finally realized who he was after the shock of him stumbling in that way. She pulled a chair beside him and sat down, taking his arm to look over the scar once more. "You did mention it, yes. The Headmaster has sent some Aurors to go find it, though I'm still waiting on word that it was found. How are you feeling?"

Finn offered a smile as Hannah told him to call h er by her first name. "Hannah then, yes but please call me Finn over Finneus. I don't think that anyone has ever called me Finneus before," he said with a small chuckle. He tried to think of who over the course of his life who had called him Finneus; perhaps the old Transfiguation professor from the first few years of schooling because he and Fred had been causing trouble in the back of the classroom. Other than that it was always Finn or Finny boy depending on the person. "I'm glad to hear of it, though I don't fancy being the person who was in charge of making sure the Manticore was tucked away safely," he told her truthfully. He wondered who was supposed to be in charge of wrangling the Manticore, as it was a very dangerous and poisonous creature to be let loose in the Forbidden Forest. For a moment he wondered if perhaps it had been set loose on purpose, but didn't want to jump to that kind of conclusion just yet.

@finn <3 Hannah laughed. "Of course, I apologize, Finn." It was always exciting to see the way students and young adults used the names that were bestowed upon them. Hannah was thankful that all three of her children used their given names and didn't change them to anything extravagant. Not that Finn was opposite of Finneus, but their nicknames were enough for her. She smiled softly at his comment on the manticore. She wouldn't want to be that person either; those creatures were deadly and she was glad she was able to help Finn. "I'm happy you're healthy now, and I'm sure a few others will be as well. Does your arm hurt at all?"

Finn waved his hand of his good arm aside. “It’s no worries, on my records it states Finneus so it’s logical to conclude that I go by that name initially,” he reasoned with a grin. Still, it was a little odd to be addressed as Finneus, but she seemed to understand the nickname so there was no need to go further into it. He tested out his arm and only winced a little bit. “It seems to be healing, so whatever magic or voodoo you did is working,” he said, chuckling as he rested back against the pillows. He turned his head and looked out at the evening sky. “Any estimation of when I can be out of here? Nothing personal, just we’re a bit short on staff since...well some of us left,” he said, trailing off awkward. Poe had left the Aurors, and Rai was now in Romania as of her last letter, tracking down the vampire who turned her. He knew it was for their best interests, but it was rather lonely sometimes now. @jill11

@finn <3 Hannah smiled genuinely at him, one that looked quite motherly. She understood his feeling on the name and why he preferred the nickname. Hannah herself didn't really have any type of nickname, but she was okay with that. Her eyes watched intently as he moved his arm, and saw him wince. Well, that was a good thing that he could still feel it. She knew it would still have some pain to it. Hannah laughed quietly and nodded. "Magic? What's that? Of course it was voodoo." Standing up, she grabbed a glass of water for him and a small bottle of liquid. "Here, this will help with the pain a little bit." Hannah sat back down and tilted her head back and forth in a thinking motion. "I understand. But probably not until late tonight. I need to make sure your arm heals correctly and the manticore didn't poison you."

Finn laughed as Hannah jokingly admitted it was voodoo, even though he realized she was just kidding around. "Well, thanks, voodoo or not," he said, being sincere. He stretched out his injured arm, wincing only slightly. The manticore poison was evidently not completely out of his system yet, so he agreed with the nurse that he should stay at least until later the evening. Most likely, that meant Finn was going to be spending the nigh in the Hospital Wing, which he had done a few times over the course of his seven years of schooling. Being friends with the next generation of Marauders, plus Rai had caused plenty of injuries. "Hannah? Didn't you used to be the landlady of the Leaky Cauldron?" he asked; he was pretty sure the woman owned the bar. He had certainly seen her before at the Cauldron on his way to collect school supplies.

@finn <3 Hannah smiled as Finn thanked her and nodded slightly. Out of the corner of her eye she watched him stretch out his arm and wince, which was a good sign. If the situation had been worse, he most likely wouldn't be able to move his arm or even be alive at the moment. Hannah continued filling out paperwork, sure he'd probably end up staying the night. She wanted to be safe and make sure he was okay and healthy to leave the next morning. And who didn't like being pampered and taken care of? His next question had her sitting back in her chair, smiling and crossing a leg over her knee. "I was and I still am, actually. But I've recently hired Raleigh Flint as a Manager, I'm assuming you know him?"
