Jamie asked if she'd ever been to a circus and Anna instantly started shaking her head. She'd heard of them, but never been to one. "No, I haven't," she answered, then listened to Jamie's explanation. Juggling chainsaws? Anna paused and then giggled a little. "What are chainsaws?" she asked, hoping that that would make the metaphor make more sense. She shrugged, "It's going all right. Studies are intense, as is the Tournament, but I met Oscar, so that's good. I guess it's been good overall. I'm enjoying it." Mostly because of Oscar, but she didn't have to actually say that, did she? She didn't want to get on Jamie's nerves, always talking about him.

Not only had Anna not been to a circus, she had never seen a chainsaw, either. That made Jamie’s entire metaphor make a lot less sense. Anna asked her to explain what a chainsaw was, and Jamie paused for a moment. “It’s a metal bit that spins really quickly. Muggles use them to cut down trees.” Jamie explained, hoping that it made sense. “They’re really dangerous.” She added, perhaps a little unnecessarily. Jamie smiled a little when Anna said that her last year had been good. “What’s Oscar like?” Jamie asked. She’d never met him and she wasn’t close enough to Anna to have a reason to go searching him out, but Anna seemed happy to be with him, so it seemed like a good conversation for their relaxing day.

Anna nodded slowly as Jamie explained what a chainsaw was. She wasn’t quite sure that she understood, but it made sense. A sharp metal circle that spun and cut down trees. Dangerous. Okay. “Sounds like it,” she said, to show that she was listening. Then Jamie asked about Oscar and Anna’s smile widened. “He’s wonderful. I mean, things didn’t start off the best with us. The first time we met we yelled at one another and then after that we slowly made some sort of friendship … and then we ended up dating. He’s just so … sweet. He’s funny and always trying to make things interesting. I just love spending time with him.” She paused, “Sorry, you probably didn’t want to know all of that.”

Jamie wasn’t quite sure that Anan had understood what she saw saying, but the other girl was at least paying attention, so Jamie wasn’t all that bothered by the metaphor being lost on Anna. Apparently asking about Oscar had been a good way to get Anna talking, and the other girl was smiling so much that Jamie was afraid that her face would split right open. At the end of her babbling, Anna apologized, and Jamie shook her head. “No, it’s nice to hear that you’re happy.” The Hufflepuff answered. “And you got it right on the first try, right?” She prompted. She couldn’t remember Anna having any other partners, but she also hadn’t ever been particularly close to the other girl. “What does Lucy think of him?” Jamie couldn’t recall Harper having ever met her siblings, and Will had just met Max, and presumably Odette. In any case, the opinions of family were supposed to be important in choosing a romantic partner.

Despite Jamie's reassurance that it was fine, Anna still felt embarrassed that she got distracted so easily. Granted, the girl did bring up Oscar, the one person she cared about more than anyone else in the world. It was natural that that would distract her, right? She smiled as Jamie prompted her to continue talking about him. "Yes, he's the first guy I've ever dated," she told Jamie with a smile. She couldn't help it! Just thinking about Oscar made her smile, talking about him ... well it had the same effect. She shrugged when Jamie mentioned her sister. "I haven't introduced him to Lucy," she confessed, her tone softer. Jamie might not know of the strained relationship between Anna and her sister, but Anna was nervous to introduce Oscar to Lucy. What if she did something to scare him off? Or something. She was nervous.

Anna agreed that Oscar was the first person that she’d ever dated, smiling as she did so. Love was such an interesting thing, the Hufflepuff thought, to be able to make people smile no matter where their partner was. “Does he have any friends?” Jamie teased. She had tried dating someone who was in Hogwarts, and someone who was out of Hogwarts, so maybe the solution to making her next relationship last was to find someone from one of the foreign schools who was seeking a partner – a happy in between for in and out of school, so to speak. Jamie paused in her joking when Anna said she hadn’t yet introduced her new beau to Lucy. “Well, make sure she doesn’t scare him off.” Jamie declared. “I was talking to her the other day, and she is not the nicest person to be around.” Jamie didn’t like dissing Anna’s sister to her face, but she had a feeling that no one could live with Lucy for as long as Anna had and not realize her less-than-good tendencies. Jamie paused, glancing at Anna. “Turned into a prune yet?” She asked, hoping to lighten the mood again with the question.

Anna smiled at Jamie's question. "Why? Do you want me to introduce you to one?" she teased back. To be quite honest, Anna knew next to nothing about Jamie's love life and hoped the Hufflepuff wouldn't be upset by her joking around about it. But ... Jamie was the one to bring it up, so she couldn't get too mad, could she? Then ... Lucy. Anna's smile faded a bit as they started talking about her sister a bit. "Oh, I know," she answered when Jamie said that Lucy wasn't particularly nice. "That's one of the reasons why I haven't introduced them yet ... though I'm almost positive that she knows I'm dating him." At least, most of the school knew. So it would stand to reason that Lucy would know too, right? Then Anna laughed. "I think I'm turning into one. Time for me to get out of the water," she announced, enjoying her last few seconds in the water before standing so she could get out.

Jamie chuckled when Anna asked if she wanted the Gryffindor to introduce her to any of Oscar’s friends. “Do you think any of them would want a crazy wolf-girl?” Jamie asked with a roll of her eyes. The foreigners had part-Veelas in abundance, but from the stories she had heard, Elias had been a bit of an outcast in his school; if Beauxbatons was the same way about demihumans, then maybe (even if she had been serious), that wouldn’t be such a good idea.
When the subject turned to Lucy, Anna said that she knew that Lucy wasn’t the nicest people, and that was why she hadn’t introduced her boyfriend to her twin yet. “I think everyone knows you’re dating him, Anna.” Jamie said, not one to mince words when it came to something like that. “The fact that you went to the Yule Ball with him kind of solidified what a lot of people were already thinking.” She explained further, in case Anna wanted an outsider’s perspective on her relationship with Oscar. When Anna announced that she was turning into a prune and was going to get out of the bath, Jamie turned around obediently. “There’s a robe for you.” She said, in case Anna hadn’t noticed the fluffy white garment already.

Anna rolled her eyes at Jamie's question. "You're not crazy. And if they didn't want to be with you just because you're a werewolf, then they're definitely not worth your time." Jamie was super nice and fun and anyone that judged her for that was an idiot. She let the subject go at that.
Anna nodded, agreeing with Jamie when she said that everyone knew she was dating Oscar. "Yeah, but Lucy still hasn't met him. I'm not sure how she'd react and I'm just not ready to try that out just yet." Doing anything with Lucy was risky for Anna because she never knew what her twin would do. There was every chance she would be rude, but there was the off chance that she might be polite and nice. "Thanks," Anna said as she got out and wrapped herself in the robe. "You're very thorough, aren't you Jamie? How did you know I would agree to this?" Up to this point she and Jamie had never done a lot together, so she was a little curious.

The Hufflepuff shrugged when the Gryffindor said anyone who didn’t want to be with her because of her lycanthropy was stupid. She hadn’t met anyone who had outright refused to date her because of it, but Jamie also hadn’t been in the habit of asking people out on dates…and still wasn’t in that habit.
“Just don’t let them meet unsupervised.” Jamie advised. She wouldn’t put it past Lucy to seek out Anna’s boyfriend on her own and strike fear into Oscar’s heart. She was bad enough already, but if Oscar was alone and cornered when he first met the Slytherin girl, then he was sure to be terrified by Lucy. Hopefully not enough to harm his relationship with Anna, but that chance wasn’t one that Jamie thought Anna would be keen to take. When Anna got out of the tub and into the robe, Jamie drained the bath, and immediately began drawing the warm water for her own bath, adding rose-scented bubbles and climbing in once it was mostly filled. “I didn’t.” Jamie answered when Anna asked how the Hufflepuff knew the Gryffindor would agree to this spa day. “But I figured getting extras of everything wouldn’t be all that much effort, and I was hoping you’d say yes.” Jamie shrugged a little – it really was that simple.

Anna's mouth fell open when Jamie mentioned that she shouldn't let Lucy meet Oscar alone. How was she supposed to stop that? The idea of her sister seeking Oscar out made Anna's heart sink. She knew he cared about her, but would it make a difference if her sister was a complete jerk to him? Anna might have to ask for a bit of help on that one, or talk to Oscar about Lucy so he could be prepared if she did try something like that. She smiled at Jamie's answer to her question. "Well I'm glad you asked me," she told Jamie after a few seconds. "I really needed something like this." It wasn't easy admitting that things weren't easy for her right now, but she wanted to try and be positive, despite that.

Jamie had to admit she was a little out of it, and barely noticed when Anna dropped her jaw. She was having too much of a pleasant time letting the warm water wash over all of her muscles, soothing her body, which had been made sore from excessive Quidditch practices. Jamie knew that she was tough on her body, so it was nice when she could be kind to it, too. Jamie was torn from those thoughts when Anna thanked her for asking her to the impromptu spa day. “I’m glad that you said yes.” Jamie said with a smile. “The reason I asked you is because I knew you could use it.” Jamie added, sinking a little bit lower in the tub. “I know when we made cookies I wasn’t exactly helpful about the Triwizard Tournament stuff…” The Hufflepuff trailed off. She didn’t want to say anything more specific than that, but she hoped that her offer to help was implied.

Anna nodded when Jamie said she was glad that Anna agreed to the spa day. "It would be ridiculous if I said no. Basically everyone knows that I need a break ... almost always," she admitted with a small smile. Even though Jamie wasn't watching her, Anna shrugged when she mentioned the time they made cookies together. "Don't worry about it. You were just fine and making cookies was fun," Anna answered, not really knowing what else to say. She didn't know what the second task would be and while she was excited about it, she was also a bit nervous as well. "I'll let you know if I need help with the next task," she offered hesitantly, not really sure if that's what Jamie wanted.

Jamie nodded when Anna said that she could use a break almost always. “Don’t we all?” Jamie asked. A lot of the seventh years cared a lot – probably too much – about their N.E.W.T. scores, because they meant getting a job – or not. While Jamie wasn’t in a position to make an entire year of students slow down, if she could grab one or two stressed out people every week, then eventually she would make her way around. That was the hope, at least. Anna said that she would ask if she needed any help in the next task, and Jamie nodded her head enthusiastically. “Not sure how much I’ll be able to help, unless it’s about Quidditch, Potions, or being a werewolf.” She admitted. She couldn’t foresee any of those topics being at the forefront, since the Triwizard Tournament tried not to emphasize skills so much as attributes. And if a task involved lycanthropy, then it would obviously favor Elias, which probably wouldn’t be popular with the heads of Beauxbatons and Hogwarts.

Anna laughed and agreed with Jamie, "Yeah, I think you're right about that. We're all so worried about the future, but we need to relax a little." That was something Anna wanted to work on. She wanted to enjoy her time, especially since her time here at Hogwarts was limited now. She needed to enjoy it more, which would probably help her be happier in the long run. Anna shrugged, "Well I have no idea what it is now, but I'll let you know when I do. Then if you know something that can help you can tell me and if not, no harm done." She didn't want to rush Jamie's bath, since Jamie hadn't rushed hers, but she was curious to see what they were going to do next. She looked around the room, trying to find a clue.
