Practice for the Hufflepuff team had ended about an hour ago and yet Zita had decided to stay the extra hour and continue practicing team maneuvers and Keeper blocks to make herself the best she could. Now that she felt obligated to put in a bid to be captain next year, she felt like she needed to hone her skills as best as she could to lead. Who would want a leader that didn't know what they were talking about? Who would listen to a captain's criticism if said captain had more issues with executing plays than the players themselves? It still felt like a bit of a bother, being captain, because she thought she'd be able to focus all of her planning abilities on meetings for GSA and getting along with her new co-captain but that just didn't seem like it was going to be the case. She knew the Ravenclaw team didn't hold their practices until a little bit later so she stayed and practiced hard and flew and hit quaffles until she'd had enough. It was still a little chilly out since it was only early March but she'd sweat plenty so she'd decided to head to the locker room after her long practice session, get a shower in, and change before heading back to the common room to do a bit of homework. It hadn't taken her long to put up everything she'd used because it had been just her broom and a few quaffles she'd taken from the storage closets. She wouldn't dare bother with the bludgers; getting those back was always a pain. Once she'd tidied up she walked back to the locker room feeling a bit icky with the dried sweat on her skin. The shower had been exactly what she'd needed to relax and she'd stayed under the spray for quite a while. She really needed to get out before the Ravenclaw team came. It was a bit quiet because she was the only one in the room but it was comfortable and allowed her to dressed in peace at her locker without having to worry. She'd gotten her clothing on, towel still wrapped around her hair while she sat down to put her boots back on as her thoughts raced through the bits of homework she had to finish once she returned to the common room.

The Quidditch locker rooms. Theodosia didn’t particularly like the area. The locker rooms were smelly (as was to be expected of any locker room), and in Theo’s opinion, a little too disorganized. It seemed like some people forwent the use of lockers in favor of just leaving their things lying around, and picking her way through soiled Quidditch robes was not how Theodosia had envisioned spending her free time, yet here she was. Why? Because the pretty Hufflepuff girl she had been chasing had been at Quidditch practice, and Theo needed to continue the chase. Showing up in the locker rooms probably wasn’t something that the Hufflepuff expected, which was exactly why Theo was there. She liked to keep her victims on their toes, and showing up in unexpected places was a great way to do that. Theodosia had expected the Hufflepuff girl to come into the locker rooms quite a while ago, but from what she had gathered, the girl had stayed behind to practice a bit longer. Maybe she had a bit of the Slytherin fire in her too? Theodosia could see that being the case, with the way the girl had snapped back at her every time they had talked so far. It was actually kind of interesting, and Theo was wondering if she would need to adjust her strategy to account for that factor. She didn’t get to wonder long, though, because footsteps began to echo through the locker room. Theo wove through the maze of lockers towards the sound, and then stopped dead in the tracks when she saw the Hufflepuff was wearing nothing but a towel. The Slytherin smiled. “Why, darling, it’s as if you knew I was coming.” Theo said without missing a beat, even though in all truthfulness, her mouth had gone a little dry at the sight. Now was not a good time to be distracted, even if there was a beautiful, almost entirely undressed girl in front of her.

Just before she began getting dressed, she stood at her locker, towel wrapped around her tightly as she reached in to pull her clothing out. It was then that a voice rang out through the quiet. Zita rolled her eyes to herself and reeled in the groan that almost escaped because she recognized the voice of the person. It was the little snake that always found herself in her presence, Theodosia. It had been a few days since she'd seen the girl and had thought she'd finally gotten rid of her with that kiss she'd given her. She had been successful in not thinking about it, until now anyway and she stopped herself from turning around surveying the girl. That kiss. It hadn't done anything for her but highlight the fact that she was a bit lonely and that she wanted to find someone she could actually kiss. Someone who wasn't taken and didn't fake being into women. Someone who wasn't an entire arse. All qualifications Zita knew this girl didn't mean. Just because she had been shaken a bit after the kiss and just because she had wanted another from the girl didn't mean she actually wanted her. And she was certain that the Slytherin had no interest in her for more than just someone she could manipulate or bother. She wouldn't let her have that. Maybe if she just ignored her, she would go away. The Slytherin's words registered after the annoyance fled just a bit. She was standing at her locker now without anything one except for a towel. Maybe she would go away if... Zita decided to commit to her act of ignoring her. She would pretend that she hadn't even heard the girl speak out at all. She was now the only person in the locker room at all. She proceeded to continue her routine of getting dressed. So she unwrapped the towel completely and began drying her hair using the towel she had wrapped around her head. If that didn't get her to leave.. she really didn't know what would. She just really hoped no one walked into the locker room to see the compromising position. She really didn't feel like explain this to someone else.

For a moment, Theodosia couldn’t breathe. Actually, it was likely much longer than a moment, because when she finally did breathe again, Theodosia gasped. It was obvious, and it was loud, and there was no way that she could play it off as anything other than a desperate gasp for air. The Slytherin wondered what the Hufflepuff would think of that. The badger had implied that she didn’t quite believe that Theo was a lesbian – which, actually, was an amazingly good thing, because if a girl she was flirting with didn’t believe she was a lesbian, then who would? – but the snake had a feeling that all of those ideas would fly out of her head, or at least be called into serious question, when she heard the noise Theo had made. Since there was no recovering from that, Theodosia began to grasp for something, anything, witty to say. A compliment of her physique, or a barb about something… Literally anything would be better than silence when it came to covering up her gasp. Theo’s mind, however, was entirely empty, as it tended to be when beautiful girls were undressed in front of her. Finally, something popped into her head, and Theodosia blurted it out before even running it through her sensor, hoping that the ‘literally anything’ statement that she had thought about earlier would prove true. “Next time you do that, a little warning would be nice.” That wasn’t as bad as it could have been, but it was still much, much less smooth than Theodosia would have liked. The Slytherin wondered if this was the kind of embarrassment people felt when she was laying into them. Even worse, though, the Hufflepuff had made her feel this way without having to say anything at all. Theodosia wished that she could swallow her tongue. All she could really do now was wait for the Hufflepuff to finish changing so that their position would be a little less compromising and the Slytherin could think clearly again.

For a moment, there was nothing but silence in the locker room, which Zita found really odd. She was expecting the sound of footsteps leaving or at least the sound of her turning around and insulting her for doing it. But all she got was silence. Then it happened. The sound of her gasp ripped through the silence and Zita's pulse quickened in excitement. The sound was so sweet, it was a victory. Finally, some reaction other than snark or smugness! Zita held in her laugh as she slid into her underwear. She didn't know it would feel this good to get a rise out of her. She found it rather amusing that this is what it took to get her to react. Maybe she was being honest about being attracted to women... Just that thought brought about a lot of interesting questions but that still didn't change the fact that Theodosia had been incredibly rude to her. It shouldn't change anything about how she felt. And it definitely didn't change anything regarding who Theodosia was and that she was taken. She would have to leave the questions she had unanswered. She stealthily watched the shock on the girl's face through the small mirror in her locker, amusement dancing through her. When Theodosia finally spoke out, asking for a warning next time, she decided to finally acknowledge her presence in the room. She still hadn't fully dressed but if that would continue to get a reaction from her, it would be much better. She turned around, playing at shock with her eyebrows raised. "Theodosia! When did you get in here?" she didn't want to over play it and make the shock seem fake. She was much more annoyed than shocked she'd found her way to the locker rooms but the shock was a small part of it so it was honest. "Wait, why are you in here?" she leaned against her locker and crossed her arms over her chest.

There was no way that the Hufflepuff hadn’t known that she was in the locker room, right? Theodosia had already stumbled, and she was worried that the other girl realized that and was trying to tie the Slytherin’s feet up even more, so that she never hit her stride. Theo was determined not to let that happen, so she pasted a grin on her face and answered the question after no more than a half a second of silence. “All you need to know is I saw the whole show.” Theo said, eyes gleaming. The Hufflepuff girl seemed thoroughly unashamed by the situation, which meant that she was more comfortable in her body than most teenaged girls were. She had a right to be, Theodosia thought idly – she really was beautiful. More than beautiful, but Theodosia wasn’t sure she was ready to cross that line yet, even inside the safety of her own head. When the Hufflepuff asked why she was in the locker room, Theodosia took a few steps forward, close enough that she had to look up to look the Hufflepuff in the eyes. “Have you heard the story of Adam and Eve?” Theodosia asked the other girl. The Slytherin’s parents didn’t believe in religion, but the Bible was still an interesting read, even when one removed the belief from it. “It teaches that serpents are drawn to temptation.” Theodosia reached a hand up to touch the side of Zita’s arm, trailing her fingers lightly down the other girl’s skin. “I guess I’m no different from that snake.” Theo purred. She hadn’t actually expected any of this, any of the physical part, at least, but what she said was true: Theodosia was not good at saying no to herself, which was why she was pursuing the Hufflepuff aggressively in spite of her fears of being outed to the castle. She wanted the Hufflepuff, and the Slytherin was going to get her someday.

Zita raised an eyebrow at the little snake's words about watching her undress. She wondered if she'd gotten there just as she'd gotten out of the shower or if she had only arrived just before she'd spoken. It didn't matter. Did it really count as a show though if she was being peeped on? Zita was really starting to believe that the girl may actually be attracted to women. She still couldn't shake the last bit of doubt from herself that this was all some very complicated ruse that Theodosia was putting on just to mess with her though. She went to say as much but that was when she moved closer to her, speaking of some story about someone named Adam and Eve? Was she so obsessed with her house that she read stories about snakes for fun? That thought cut off just as soon as Theodosia's hand trailed down her arm, leaving goosebumps to raise on her arm. She wanted to blame part of it on the fact that she was getting colder the longer she stood in the locker room but she knew part of it was because of her. Only a small part of it was because of her, it really was getting cold. "Is that so? Sounds like that snake needs to learn some self-control," her voice was even when she spoke, arms still crossed over her chest. She turned around to try and finished getting dressed, thought better of it, then turned around once again facing her. "Can I at least finished getting dressed before we do this whole back and forth thing it seems we've become? I'm still rather indecent," she gestured to herself and then her locker before crossing her arms over her chest once again. "And now I'm guessing you're going to say something along the lines of 'I prefer you this way' to really push the line?" She didn't know which one she actually wanted to happen. She really needed to find someone to makeout with. Someone that didn't have anything to do with snakes.

Theodosia rolled her eyes at the Hufflepuff’s response to her comment about snakes being unable to resist temptation. Sure, she could learn self-control – or rather, exercise the self-control that she already possessed – but why on earth would she do that when she could have verbal spars with a pretty girl who still wasn’t fully clothed. Theodosia made a soft humming noise when she was done rolling her eyes, and then brushed her fingers down the Hufflepuff’s arm again, feeling the slight ridges formed by the goose bumps on the other girl’s arms. Theodosia raised her eyebrows. She was sure that if she commented on the goosebumps, she would be told that the locker room was being kept at a lower temperature than normal, but to Theo, the room wasn’t cold at all. In fact, it was getting much warmer as she flushed at the thought of what the Hufflepuff was thinking. The other girl asked if she could get dressed before they had another one of the verbal sparring matches, but before could respond, she said something about Theo preferring the girl indecent. The Slytherin laughed at that comment. “Maybe I was, maybe I wasn’t.” Theodosia said with another giggle. It wasn’t very intimidating, but she had stopped trying to intimidate the other girl quite a while ago. “Would you like me to? Because I don’t think you can be indecent at all, darling. Every part of you is far beyond decent.” Theodosia had certainly said more romantic, and better phrased, things before, but since the Hufflepuff seemed intent on treating this like a game, Theo figured that she might as well do the same. If her tactics weren’t working, then why would she continue to use them when there was something else to try? As much as Theodosia hated to admit it, this Hufflepuff was challenging her. And when she was challenged, Theo always won.

She was so persistent, that was the only thing Zita could think as the Slytherin once again ran her fingers down her arm. She watched the Slytherin's eyebrows raised as more goosebumps appeared on her arms. Whatever the snake was trying to do to her was working and she didn't know how to feel about it. On one hand, she could just let herself feel but the annoyance of remembering how that hallway interaction went would definitely get in the way of that. She still hadn't apologized about that or given an explanation of why she'd done it. Probably because there hadn't been a reason and she felt no remorse for it. When the Slytherin girl giggled, it was a tingle in her ears and she felt herself smile unwillingly, both because of her laugh and her answer. She had a cute laugh. At her following words though, Zita rolled her eyes. She'd heard better pick-up lines before and she was amused by the fact that as clever as she was supposed to be she couldn't come up with anything better in the moment. "Smooth," she commented easily. She wanted to go back to when the girl was flustered. Maybe get another gasp out of her? Zita was used to making bad decisions by now so what was one more to add to the pile? "So back to this whole... 'temptation' thing you mentioned. Are you here to steal another kiss," she uncrossed her arms and moved a bit closer to her this time. How far did she want this to go? What if she actually responded? If she didn't respond and the doubt she had in her mind was correct, that this was a trick, the girl would back away. If she didn't... well, they would cross that road if they got there. She gently placed a hand on the girl's chin, meeting her eyes. "Because if you are, can you at least make it worthwhile this time?" She knew that the anticipation stuttering through her would remain no matter what the girl's reaction was.She still couldn't decided which one she would prefer.

The Hufflepuff girl was smiling. That was not something that Theodosia had anticipated from this meeting. It seemed the other girl only ever seemed to be irritated with her, so to actually do something that made her happy was interesting… especially since Theodosia wasn’t exactly sure what it was that had inspired the smile. Maybe her changing of tactics was actually working? Theodosia wasn’t going to get her hopes up too high. The Hufflepuff girl commented that what Theodosia had said was smooth, but the Slytherin didn’t falter, despite the tone of the word. She was still riding high on that smile… which was strange, because normally smiling was not a good thing when you were a bully. When you were stringing someone on, though? Smiling was excellent. More than excellent. The Hufflepuff asked if she was here to steal a kiss, and Theodosia raised her eyebrows. “As I recall, there was nothing stolen last time.” The other girl had literally told Theodosia to kiss her. And Theo had. The implication that it had been taken unwillingly was not a good one, because it meant that the Hufflepuff girl was still somewhat bitter about the whole interaction. Bitterness was not good when you were trying to seduce someone. At least the other girl still remembered their conversation and the kiss, though. Theo was a little worried that anyone who let strangers kiss them was going to be a little bit loose, but if she had been kissing girls left and right, would she really remember a simple peck on the lips. “I thought you wanted to be decent before we did anything more?” Theodosia asked teasingly. If the other girl really wanted another kiss – and it sounded like she did, otherwise she wouldn’t have brought it up – there was no point in giving it to her immediately. Theodosia wasn’t supposed to be benevolent, after all, and if it frustrated the Hufflepuff that the Slytherin wouldn’t give in to her demands, then so be it. Everything was so much more interesting when two people were in opposition, anyways.

Zita knew that this was definitely one of those moments that she shouldn't get caught up in and she knew that later she would regret it. For now though, watching the way her eyebrows raised as she talked about their kiss, she smirked at her assertion that Zita had invited it. She had liked the kiss, sure. She had even stood there while the girl had kissed her. But she did remember specifically saying the words 'take it'. She'd told the girl to take the kiss but she had not given her kiss freely. "Does it really matter, Theodosia? You got what you wanted," her voice was soft as she spoke. The Slytherin had gotten her way in more ways than Zita would admit to her. Was that what her plan was? To get Zita to want her before revealing that she had no real interest in her? She was in for a real surprise then. Who said that this mild interest, if you could call it that, in her would last long? Zita didn't think it would. She would get bored of the games she was playing and, as soon as she found someone more suitable, she would lose any flighty interest she developed in the snake. And she was hoping to find someone better soon. Someone she could actually have a relationship with. That thought stayed with her a moment too long when the girl teased her about her wanting to be decent. She shurgged and she moved her hand away from her face, turning towards her locker. An amused look crossed her features but she managed to keep the amusement from leaking into her words as she spoke. "Suit yourself then," she began as she pulled a pair of jeans out of her locker and slid into them, "It's probably a bad idea anyway, right?" she couldn't keep the seriousness from tainting her words, even though she didn't expect to get an honest or straightforward answer. She grabbed the towel from her hair and began drying it, not wanting to get her shirt wet putting it on, before she turned back to Theodosia. "So if I stayed indecent, you'd stick around and wait for me to get dressed?"

Theodosia sighed a little when the other girl asked if the technicalities even mattered. She had thought that the Hufflepuff was smarter than this, but if Theodosia really had to, she would explain. “Everyone knows that the path you take matters.” She said, showing a surprising amount of patience in explaining a concept that even first years in her house had mastered. “How else do you think Elaine Dupree and Victoire Weasley differ?” Theo asked. The two of them were the most respected witches of their generation, but for different reasons. Victoire had done things the “right” way, climbing through the Ministry ranks and then seizing the first legal opportunity she had to take what she wanted (since Theodosia was certain that the woman wouldn’t have the guts to murder her predecessor just to get his seat). Elaine had grabbed power wherever she could find it, had clawed and bitten and fought her way to the top, outside of what the common wizard considered legal. They had both achieved power beyond the dreams of most. Theodosia noted, slightly smugly, that only one of them had retained their power thus far. She couldn’t say that, though, because the Slytherin doubted that the Hufflepuff would take kindly to her praising the Dark Lady. It was a shame. With a body like that, Theo was sure that the other girl could be dangerous. And that was the only reason that she continued to look, Theodosia reminded herself. In case it was any good for Elaine. “Like I said, consent is important.” The Slytherin said lazily, finally ripping her eyes away from the Quidditch player to keep some semblance of civility. She had long since abandoned any notion of pretending to be heterosexual around the other girl, so at least Theodosia didn’t have to pretend on that front.
“Everything I do is a bad idea.” Theodosia said plainly. She knew that most of her actions were borderline illegal (or totally illegal) and that if she was discovered, she would likely end up in Azkaban. She was prepared to take that risk, because that was what she believed in. Kissing a girl couldn’t be nearly as dangerous as Azkaban, could it? Theodosia wished that she could give herself a solid answer to that question. “I’ll wait.” Theodosia said flatly. She had already decided on that – all of the talking was just pleasantries to get the Hufflepuff to think that she was waiting for all the right reasons.

The Hufflepuff's eyebrow rose in interest and she felt like a red siren went of in her head when Theodosia brought up Elaine Dupree and Victoire Weasley. She brought up the dark witch so easily, someone who relentlessly killed people and was more than likely plotting the downfall of any witch or wizard who didn't obey her or had muggles for parents. And she compared her to a previous, though short lived, Minister of Magic? Their paths were certainly different but in this moment their paths didn't matter considering they both were seemingly in the same postion now. Hidden and not trying to be in the public eye. Both for different reasons but they were in the same predicament. Zita tried not to roll her eyes again. "I guess I can agree with that," she said first with a pause. "So which path is yours with me?" she crossed her arms over her chest once again, though a bit of amusement had creeped into her words. There were these two opposing forces fighting inside of her and she couldn't pick a side. She was really annoyed with the snake and didn't want anything to do with her; everything about personality and her actions should have pushed Zita away. But she was amused by it all, the lengths the girl were going to in order to pursue her, no matter her reasons. It made her want to push back. She still absolutely wanted to know why. The Slytherin added that consent was important, like it was almost an after thought and Zita snorted as she turned her eyes away. As she secured her jeans, the words Theodosia admitted to made her smirk. "Sounds like whatever this is you're doing with me is a bad idea too. For the both of us. Yet you're still here." She knew she had the same habit and her impulsivity could get her into situations she shouldn't be in. She wondered what her reasoning was for her knowing it was a bad idea and still pursuing it. Zita didn't think she would share so freely. Excitement flared in her when Theodosia said she would wait and that dualism popped up in her again. She took a deep breat, finished drying her hair and then grabbed her top out of the locker. She still had plans to find someone more suitable. But maybe with Theodosia here.. No. She didn't want quick amusement. She wanted a relationship. She wanted love. She only wanted to stick around Theodosia to find out what she really wanted. She knew for certain though that was frustrating herself thinking about it. She slipped into her shirt before she turned back to the snake. "And now?" she still inquired even with the war going on in her head.

Theodosia was shocked to hear that the Hufflepuff agreed with the Slytherin’s assessment that Elaine and Victoire were the same. She had expected the Hufflepuff to rage against her, or act offended that anyone would dare compare the former Minister (the epitome of excellence in the minds of some, including her blood traitor family) to the Dark Lady. Maybe there was hope for her yet. Hope of what, Theodosia didn’t yet know – she honestly didn’t expect herself to bring the Hufflepuff into Elaine’s fold, considering how combative the other girl could be and how little Elaine liked disrespect – but there was something there. Maybe a darkness that Theodosia could coax out? She hoped. The Hufflepuff asked which path Theodosia would take with her, and the Slytherin peered at the other girl. “Which path do you want me to take?” She asked. She was curious as to what the answer would be. So many people would pretend that they wanted their lover to take the virtuous path, but so many people were also horribly impatient, and wouldn’t want to wait the years to be properly wooed, when it was so much easier just to fall into the arms (and the bed) of someone who was practically a stranger.
The Hufflepuff said that whatever she was doing in the locker room – and outside of it – was a bad idea, and not just for the Slytherin. The other girl pointed out that Theodosia was still there, and Theo shrugged. “So are you.” It would have been easy for the Hufflepuff to ignore the Slytherin, put on her clothes, and leave. Well, not too easy, because Theodosia would at least attempt to block her way, but if there was anything that Theodosia had learned from her few interactions with the other girl, it was that she couldn’t seem to back down from a challenge – and Theodosia was quite the challenger. “And if it’s really so bad, why don’t you just ask me to leave?” Even if the Hufflepuff came up with some excuse as to why she couldn’t leave herself, it’s not like it wouldn’t have been just as easy to demand that the Slytherin leave, with some excuse about the locker rooms being for the exclusive use of members of the Quidditch teams. The other girl got dressed before turning back to Theo, and the Slytherin met the Hufflepuff’s eyes fearlessly. Theodosia stepped closer, so that she had to crane her head back to look at the other girl. “Tell me this is a good idea first.” Nothing of Theodosia’s came without a price, and a kiss was no different.

Which path did she want her to take? Zita knew the answer to that. Or she thought she knew the answer to that. Isn't that what she had been contemplating this whole time? She wanted the answer to be neither, that she didn't want Theodosia to take a path to her. She wanted Theodosia to walk out of the locker room and she wanted the snake to thoroughly avoid her for the rest of her time at Hogwarts because she thought Zita would reveal her sexuality or that she would tell someone that the girl had kissed her. Whatever reason she wanted to, she wanted the girl to avoid her and to say that Theodosia could walk out of that locker room right now and she would never have to see the snake again. And yet Theodosia was still here. And yet Zita was still here entertaining whatever game she was playing at. She could ignore her from this point on. She could grab her things and leave the locker room even if Theodosia was still here. There were plenty of things she could but she knew she wouldn't do any of them."I don't think I can answer that yet. See, I know you want me. You walked into this locker room when you have no reason to be so I know you want me. I just don't know in what capacity you want me. So I don't have an answer yet." she stated bluntly, eyeing the snake and looking for some sort of reaction that wasn't a carefully built ruse. "At least I know now you weren't lying and you are attracted to women. That still doesn't change a lot of things."
Zita had stayed silent throughout the Slytherin's declaration of the fact that she had stayed as well as the fact she could ask her to leave. She couldn't say anything because all of those things were true. She annoyed by the fact that she'd felt the need to say them out loud. She still needed to put her shoes on but that was nothing but a spell away and she could grab her books and bag and be on her way back to the common room. Instead she was looking at the Slytherin, waiting for her next move. It came in the form of a demand. She wanted Zita to tell her that what they were doing was a good idea. She was still, trying to keep her breathing stable and to calm her suddenly speedy heart beat at the girl stepped closer. Her lips were right there and she wanted to kiss her, she couldn't deny that. She wanted to kiss her so bad that she felt the tingle of it in her lips. But why! Why did she want to kiss her? She tried to focus on some kind of reasoning. It had to be proximity. Theodosia was the only girl who was throwing herself at her. Theodosia was the only one who was showing any kind of explicit interest. If there were other girls that were interested, she didn't know it. But she was here. And her lips were right there. She could steal the kiss but that rubbed her the wrong way. She didn't want it unless it was given willingly, unless she was giving it because she wanted her to have it. Because she wanted her to have her. Zita closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "This is a very bad idea, Theodosia. Leave." She had to do this. She knew she had to do this.
