Ed nodded when Madi mentioned that the squid might be sleeping. He found it kind of amusing how nervous the squid made her, but he wasn't going to say anything about it. Maybe she had a very good reason for it. He laughed when she said he could skip his rocks. The way she said it though ... it sounded like she didn't know how. "I can show you how sometime if you want," he offered in what he hoped was a casual tone.
He could see her mood drop at his words and reached out to touch her arm. Woah. That wasn't like Ed. He wasn't normally a touchy-feely person at all. "They probably don't mean to take it out on you he added, trying to help her feel better. There's a high chance they don't realize they're doing it." He coughed nervously again, "That's one reason I notice. I'm trying to change that about me." There. Maybe that would help her smile again.
She seemed to cheer up when they started talking about Quidditch and Ed smiled hesitantly again. "Well the names and faces don't really matter too much off the pitch," he told her honestly. It was just something he did. He nodded when she said that she was bored and just missed the game. "I feel the same way," Ed admitted. "Hey! Maybe we could do one-on-one sometime. We're both chasers, after all." He waited, curious to hear her response.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] Faster than the wind, passionate as sin [attr="class","itokaytext"]At his sudden offer of showing, Madison looked up with a small smile and wondered how he figured out that she was not good at it. Well, he was quite good at perceiving. Nonetheless, she decided to accept the invitation and said "I would like that very much." He was not bad to talk to, in fact the way their conversation was going she would say that he was very interesting person. But then again, she found every new guy interesting. And may be this would give her a chance to talk to him more.
At the touch of his hand, Madi looked up from the ground and at his face. His brown eyes instantly caught her attention and she just stared at him as she listened to his words. "Yeah may be"she said, her voice rather dim. It did not however make her feel better, just a bit understanding of them. May be her talking to them only worsened their mood. May be she should stop talking too much, but can she stay like that? Who knows. As he continued on with his words, Madi gave a small smile at his admission and said 'that's nice of you to want to change." not many can do it,remained unspoken. She knew it first hand , how difficult it is to change some thing about oneself. She then realized that she was being a drama queen over nothing. it was not in the hand of someone to control how they feel, and who was she to complain. With that thought she felt herself slowly slip into her usual demeanour as her lips settled into a contended smile.
At his suggestion of meeting up for a one-on-one, Madi brightened up and said "of course. yes, it is an excellent idea". Why had she not thought of that? Lately though she wondered what was wrong with her, this was not he first incident when the obvious did not occur to her at all. Instead she tried to refocus on something else, yeah quidditch and then she asked him "so apart from chaser, what positions can you play in as?"

Edmund smiled back when she accepted his invitation. He didn't know what, but he was feeling excited at the idea of doing more with Madison. It was interesting since they'd never really done anything together, but it was how he felt and it wasn't a bad thing. "Are you free this Saturday or do you want me to owl you and we can come up with a time that works?" He didn't want to push get into sound something work him, but she already agreed and he wanted to make sure they didn't forget.
She didn't seem to believe him. Edmund wanted to push his point but then he decided to just let it go. He didn't want Madison top think he was being pushy or something. She said it was nice of him to want to change and Ed shrugged. "It's easier when I have happy, cheerful people around me," he admitted. "On my own I normally struggle, but people like you help," he told her with a smile. Maybe that would help her cell better.
She liked Quidditch. Maybe as much as Ed did. He could tell by the way she lit up just by talking about it. "Okay, owl me when you have time and we'll see if we can't get together and play," he suggested simply. Normally it was the simple plans that actually ended up happening. He shrugged, "I really only see myself as a chaser, but sometimes I play keeper and that's fun too. So you try any other positions?"

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] I could really use a wish right now, a wish right now,a wish right now, [attr="class","itokaytext"] Madison should've had been surprised with the way things were going between the duo, but right now she was not that bothered about it. He seemed to be someone she liked and why not just go with the flow she thought with a smile. And as he suggested Saturday she thought a little and mused out loud, "well Saturday means no classes, but I do have my morning full" 'with running' she thought internally, and turning to the boy she said with a smile "how about we meet up in the evening? If it does not work for you, we could always owl each other." How had she come to a stage when she was going to exchange owls over something like meeting up the next time. At least at the moment, she was a bit pre-occupied in trying to get her head round her whole schedule, trying to find the nearest time off in it, so that she can meet up with Edmund. She was definitely looking forward to his company more.
As Edmund replied back to her words, she felt her smile grow a little. She did not know if he said those words to make her feel better or if he honestly meant it. But then again if he was just saying that for her sake, he would've left her presence long back."May be you and I should hang out often then" she said a little too quickly. And a part of her hoped that he would not leave her now that they started talking to each other. She knew that it was just too much to expect and instead she decided to not think for the time being, may be that would turn out better for her.
As Edmund mentioned her to owl him with time and such, she nodded and said "excellent idea, I would send you an owl soon" and grinned. It would be much fun to play the game with an opponent when not in a game, it would usually give them the chance to improve, or at least that was how she thought of it. While in a game, all Madi cared was to win and nothing else and never does she actually take the time to appreciate the techniques of the rival team when she is up against them. As he mentioned that he plays as a keeper, she gave a nod and said "nice choices"and in response to his question she said "i play as a chaser or as a beater at times." Having a brother who plays in the same position lead her to become well versed with the play of a beater as well. Chaser was the only position in which she would be in her element to be honest. "Never was comfortable being a seeker you know. Going round and round to find that snitch seems to be too difficult for me, and keeper position is not cut out for me to be honest. I can never be trusted to stay at a place"she confessed with a sheepish smile.

Edmund shrugged when she said that she was busy Saturday morning. "I'm free in the evening if that suits you. If not I'm sure we could figure something out over owl." Or not, since they were having a hard enough trying to come up with a time when they were face-to-face. Still, Edmund wasn't going to come out and say that. He was looking forward to spending time with Madison and didn't want to mess it up by being snarky at her. He also had no idea how she would respond to that.
She suggested that maybe they should do things together more often and a small smile came onto Ed's face. "I think that would be fun," he said, nodding thoughtfully. He wanted to think of interesting things for them to do, because he definitely didn't want to bore the girl. Then she'd change her mind and probably would never do anything with him again.
Well this was definitely interesting. They were making plans to do more than one thing together and Ed found himself excited for both. Madison seemed very nice and he wanted to spend more time with her and get to know her better. Quidditch and skipping rocks were probably good ways to do that. He nodded when she said that she played as chaser or beater. "Yeah, seeking isn't really my thing either." He laughed when she described why she couldn't be a keeper. "Well then, it sounds like beating and chasing are good places for you," he teased. She was fun to talk with. He liked how she said more than most people, probably more than she meant to. It was cute. He paused for a moment after speaking, not entirely sure what he should do now.

Madison just nodded at his words about owling him to try and figure something out. She then looked up at him and wondered what to talk to him. It was not as though she cannot talk, on the contrary she can but she wondered if she would be end up making a fool out of herself. Considering the way they met, she knew that it would be difficult to carry out a conversation. But she was a gryffindor and that made her take the leap, as she asked him "so what are your plans after school? are you going to play pro later on?"she asked in an attempt to get the conversation going. And considering that they both were into quidditch, she found that to be an easy option and safe choice. Madison was happy when she accepted his offer and found that she was looking forward to seeing more of him. A part of her did not know why and whatever may be reason, she was going to enjoy his company for now. She then spoke up "so I don't know if you would be offended by my question or not, but I would be asking it anyway after all only if I ask I would know what you feel abut it. How did you feel when you knew about magic and about Hogwarts? You don't have to answer it if you don't want to"she said and looked at him with an inquisitive smile. She had been in a wizarding family but still had muggle roots. But as a kid she knew all about magic, but she never knew what others felt like knowing about it. Madison found herself laughing along with him when picked up her words about not being a capable keeper. She then asked him, "now that we are on quidditch, a very serious question, which team do you support in the league?she asked him with a tiny smile tugging on her lips. She had asked it, hoping to know more about him and seeing that quidditch league was a very big thing. Right from her childhood, she remembered listening to her father uncles argue over it and then when she grew a little old, she herself joined in and so did her cousins and that would always lead to a big discussion war. @edmund

Edmund was a little surprised at her next question. What did he want to do after school. "I'm not really sure," Ed confessed. He hated telling most people that he didn't know what he wanted after he graduated, but for some reason he didn't mind telling this girl. "I actually hadn't even considered playing Quidditch after school ... but I might actually like that idea." He gave her a sincere smile. "Do you know what you want to do after school?" He turned the question on her curiously. Would she do Quidditch.
She seemed to be enjoying herself and Ed was glad. It seemed like most of the time when he interacted with most people, he had a hard time getting them to understand him and the way he reacted to things, but they were actually getting along well with one another. He was enjoying that. When she said she had a question but didn't know if he would be offended by it, Ed found himself bracing for the question. He didn't want to get offended, because that would lead to him being mean. He was almost positive of it, since that was how he responded to most things he didn't like. At her question he smiled. This wasn't hard at all. "I'm not offended," he started out, wanting to make sure that was clear. "I was excited. I wanted to get out of the palace and always felt like I didn't fit there. I was ... rather thrilled at the idea that I belonged somewhere else and couldn't wait to get here." He chuckled a little. "I was actually pretty annoyed that I had to wait a year to come. And when I got here, it was better than I imagined." He loved magic. Couldn't imagine what his life would be like without it.
Edmund grinned at her next question, about what team he supported. He knew exactly what she meant, but he also decided that he was going to feign ignorance. "Slytherin," he answered with a raise of his eyebrows as if that was a ridiculous question. He hid his smile, wondering if she would think he was completely serious if he pretended long enough about it.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] No one could ever know me No one could ever see me [attr="class","itokaytext"] At first, Madi was not sure how he would take her question. She knew that they still had an year to decide and not to mention she was perhaps the only few in her year who already have a plan in mind in regards to her future. But when Edmund responded back with her question, she nodded as that was one of the answer she expected previously. Well you have an year to decide after all"she said with a smile, and hoping internally that he did not mind being asked such a question. And when the question was back on her, she spoke up with an easy smile "I'll continue playing quidditch, and get myself into a professional team." Her dream had always been that, and it would not change unless something drastic happens which might lead her to change her option. But other than that, she woud continue on playing the game which she absolutely loves.
Madison waited with baited breath as to how he would respond at her question. While that was a rather simple question to ask, some would not like it if. But she did ask him, as that would shed a light about him. He was someone she did not know much about and in her attempts to know about him, she had asked it. And considering that only moments ago they made plans to meet another time, she wanted to get to know him more. And to her surprise she was rewarded with an answer, and he did make it clear that he was not offended by her seemingly random question. And as she listened to him, she felt her lips curling up in a smile. "Wow, it must have been rather boring at the palace for you to feel that way, and here I thought the opposite." And then she went on to add "and I can totally understand what you mean by waiting, I had to wait at home when my brothers started Hogwarts two years before me." She had known about Hogwarts all through her childhood, but the anticipation and excitement to come here only started when her brothers started their first year. And it did not help her that they made it a point to tease her by talking about the castle. It was very much crazy in her eyes, to be not able to go and have to listen through their talks all through their summer and read their letters which spoke more about the school than about themselves. And she found herself agreeing to his last words, "it is.. truly magical" no matter how lame that sounded.
At his response of Slytherin, she rolled her eyes and said "woww too much house pride, good to know. But that was not what I asked" though she meant it in a good way judging by the smile she had on her face. And then added "I think you might have missed the word 'league' perhaps" as she quoted the word in the air. She was sure that she had spoken loudly, not too loud, but loud enough for him to hear. And that lead her to wonder if he did not know about it at all, which caused her to stop walking and looking at him with wide eyes she spoke up "please tell me you did not hear the word and not because you do not know about the league.." She was not sure whether she should be appalled that he does not know it, or surprised by it.

When he turned the question back on her, Madi didn't seem to hesitate at all, saying that she would play quidditch on a professional team. He smiled at her, "So I assume you've been planning on that for a while and preparing for it?" he asked, now pondering the possibility a little more personally than he really expected from himself.
Edmund smiled when Madi seemed to understand his answer to his question. It was nice having someone understand that. Sure, being royalty was a privilege, but for Edmund it was also like a cage. Learning magic, coming to Hogwarts, was a gift of freedom that he didn't expect to have until he became an adult and could decide what he wanted to do with his life. "Well I'm glad it kind of makes sense. I know my siblings seem to enjoy things at the palace, but I just don't feel like I belong there." Really, that was that. Hogwarts was his home and he loved it for that.
Edmund laughed when she rolled her eyes and commented that he had too much house pride. That was a perfect reaction. He shrugged when she amended her question, making it even more clear than before. "I knew what you meant. The real answer is that I know about the league, but I don't really have a favorite team yet. I haven't had enough chances to see them play to really be able to choose. Does that make sense?" Sure, he saw Quidditch here at school and could read outcomes of professional matches from the papers, but that couldn't help him choose a team. He had to actually see them in action to do that. "What about you? Which team do you support?"
