Edmund looked at Daniel curiously. Why hadn't anyone thought of that? They could have made their own games throughout the year and still gotten their Quidditch fix. "I didn't even think about that," he answered, though that should have been obvious by the fact that he hadn't organized any unofficial Quidditch games. "Man, that could have made this year so much better," he said, making a face. He liked Daniel. At least the kid could think out of the box. That made things more interesting.
Daniel laughed and Edmund chuckled as well, shrugging. "Well ... he didn't beat on me, but sometimes we get into physical tussles. It's part of being brothers," he explained. He didn't know if Daniel had any siblings or not, but if he did he would probably understand what Ed meant. He grinned when the Gryffindor said that Saturday sounded good. "Great! I'll see you there then." Ed didn't really know what to say now. He hadn't necessarily meant for this to turn into a full-on conversation, but he was glad that he and Daniel talked. Now he just didn't know whether he should continue the conversation or continue on with life. So he waited to see what Daniel would do.

"Well I didn't think about it till just now maybe if someone had thought it up in the beginning of the year." Daniel said with a slight laugh as it was a good idea too bad someone didn't have it earlier like he said. Still not having Quidditch was probably throwing everyone off, including himself but he probably would have been without it anyway. Even if the games were still going since he was new here and wouldn't have taken someone's spot so quickly even if he wanted to. "It might have even been more exciting, the 'secret' house cup." Daniel replied to Edmund with a laugh about them both regretting not thinking of just having games anyway.
As Edmund explained what he meant Daniel understood, he didn't have any siblings himself but he had known plenty of people and their siblings and a lot of seemed to be like that. While it did seem like a pain at times he had wondered what it would have been like to have a sibling himself. "I wouldn't know personally but I can understand what you mean, I've seen it happen." As they made plans for Saturday Daniel just nodded as Edmund said he would see him there. He wasn't quite sure if that was suppose to be the end of the conversation or not, it certainly sounded like it coming to an end. Daniel was fine with it was still nice to talk to someone and not have it be something annoying. "Yeah I'll see you there, noonish?" Daniel just threw out a vague time not wanting to unconvinced Edmund by picking a difficult time.

Edmund nodded. Daniel was right. Having a secret house cup wasn't too hard of an idea to come up with. In all honesty, he was surprised none of the Quidditch fans at Hogwarts thought of it. Or the players. Being among the group labeled players, Edmund was fully aware of the fact that lots of people really missed playing that year. That was obvious though. "It's a shame we didn't get one of those going," Edmund repeated. He knew he was being repetitive, but he couldn't help it. He was regretting that now. At least it wasn't his last year.
Daniel said he didn't understand personally, confirming Edmund's inner question about whether or not he had siblings. "Yeah, it's not as easy to deal with when it's actually your brother bossing you around," Edmund admitted, smiling wryly. "Apparently I'm not very good at taking orders." He never had been, especially when they came from Will. Ed could make his own choices, thank you very much. He nodded at Daniel's question. "Yeah that sounds good to me," Edmund agreed. "I'll owl you if something changes but let's plan on that."

"Well just pass it down so it can happen the next time this tri-wizard thing ever happens again." Daniel explained as he couldn't remember off the top of his head just how often the tournament happened at Hogwarts. His old school didn't really have anything to compare to it. They didn't ever compete with other schools and if they had he wasn't even sure what those other schools would be. "That way they can start it in the beginning of the year and not lose any time."
"I can only imagine really but from what I've seen of other siblings they just like to give each other a hard time but seem to care about each other." Daniel explained with no first hand knowledge on the subject or on Edmunds situation but just going off what he had seen in the past. As Edmund agreed and explained that he would or Daniel if anything came up Daniel nodded. "I'll do the same, never know what can come up I suppose." Daniel explained as he agreed, he didn't have many plans but it was better to be safe than have someone standing there waiting cause your late or not coming. "I'll see you there and I'll try not to hit you too many times." He said as he started to walk to his common room like he was before, he was partly kidding but head a beater after all. That was just part of the job.

Edmund nodded when Daniel said that they should pass it down. "Sounds like a good idea to me. Hopefully they'll be able to figure it out on their own, but we didn't until now so we might as well pass it down." He shrugged. If he didn't think of an easy way to pass it down, he might be too lazy, but it shouldn't be that hard. Maybe just get it in a playbook for one of the teams or something? If he was made captain next year he'd definitely be able to do it ... hmmm. He'd definitely be able to figure it out by then.
Edmund shrugged, "Yeah, we get along sometimes and I know that Will would be there for me if I ever needed him." Probably. It wasn't an entirely sure thing, but a likely one. His brother liked to prove that he was good to his family so he probably wouldn't let the chance pass him by. Edmund laughed when the boy said he'd try not to hit him too hard. "Sounds like a deal," he said, nodding at the kid. "Well, I'll see you around Daniel. Don't let those first years get in your way too much." He chuckled and then turned to make his way to the library. He needed to do a little studying for his potions homework.
