So, as some of you might have noticed, maxima ruqayyah greyback has a shiny custom special ability (cue pyrotechnics?), such that she has Healing Touch. In other words, to quote the official staff description:
For those of you who aren't as familiar with Max, she comes across as something of a moody loner, depending upon the people around her, and there are more than likely some people who already think of her as a freak because she is Fenrir Greyback's daughter. She also tried to poison herself this past autumn IC, so some might also see her ability—in combination with that—as being pathetic and attention-seeking, even though she's legitimately spooked by it. (On top of that, she does want to become a Healer, so there are some more mixed feelings to add to the… mix.)
You can read her first encounter with her new ability here. Because the student she heals is young and in awe of Max's healing, I see him going around and blabbing about (his perception of) what happened, leading to even more chaos due to rumors.
Following from the events of the one-shot, I've made an outline of what I'd like to see happen next:
• Directly following the one-shot, Max runs into someone, ultimately either confiding in them or accidentally mentioning to them what just happened.
• By the next day, people are beginning to talk about it, and someone puts two and two together to realize it's Max on whom the rumors are centered.
• Not fully believing that she can heal people and not knowing the extent of her ability, Max convinces someone to give themselves a paper cut (or similar; she's not sadistic) for her to see if what happened before was just a fluke. I want—and fully intend—for this to be just as awkward as it sounds. (It also has the potential to be incredibly humorous.)
Feel free to have your characters talk about what happened or reference the rumors in some way in your posts.
As for the three ideas listed above, any takers? I'm pretty flexible with how things actually pan out, but I'd love for Max to stay weirded out by her ability for a while.
Max has the ability to heal the minor injuries and illnesses with physical touch. Set and heal small bone breaks (fingers, toes, noses ribs, etc), heal muggle illnesses (these are simple for magic to heal), cuts, bruises, etc. She can not heal life threatening injuries or magical ailments.
