"Madison Kiera Roberts!" CJ plonked herself on to the comfortable cushy couch in the Gryffindor common room, glancing up at her best friend with a half a smirk on her face. "See how I'm using your full name? That's funny, 'coz I feel like I hardly know you anymore with how little I've been seeing you."
Though she was complaining, the Lion couldn't help the grin that was pulling at her lips. It was true; she'd hardly seen the girl she teasingly referred to as her better half. The past few months had been awfully hectic, made even more so by their differing classes, and even though they lived in the same dorm, she felt like she'd hardly seen Madison. Turning a pout on her blonde best friend, she steeled herself and sent Madi her best set of puppy eyes. "I miss you!" Tags: @kyles1 Notes: Hii lovely! <3

It was just like every other day, and Madison found herself sitting in the couch of the Gryffindor common room. She was facing the fireplace, and was comfortably seated, her legs tucked under her and with a parchment in hand and a book in her lap she was busy checking her potions essay. It was how she usually is these days. And suddenly she heard her name being called out, her full name mind you and easily recognizing the voice, she smirked. As CJ settled on the couch beside her, Madi looked up from her parchment and raising a brow she said about time, you noticed me"and smirked. As the brunette continued on, Madi just listened on, her head hidden behind the parchment she still held in her hand, she spoke "you do know that I can go on and on complaining too right?"she said, setting the parchment down on the table and finally giving her full attention to her sister and best friend. Madison watched on amused as her fav lion began to go dramatic all of a sudden and wondered what ever triggered it. Because, the last time someone checked, Madison was the drama queen not Calla. With a smile she asked "Did you miss me?" And as the other witch spoke, she knew that they were in for a long talk and closed her book in her lap, waste of energy to have it on her lap. She grinned at Calla and said "missed you too Calla". A part of Madi felt honored and proud every time she get's to call CJ as Calla. Because she was the only one apart from her dad who gets to call CJ that. And it took a lot of persuasion from Madi to get the name out of the girl in the first place. So yeah, she deserves an award.

"Yeah, well... you were in my spot," CJ commented when Madison claimed that it was about time she noticed her. The Seeker only managed a few seconds of a cheeky grin before she began to laugh. CJ ignored the remark about complaining, too distracted by Madi setting her parchment down, which gave CJ the opening she needed. With a huge grin, the Seeker lifted her legs to curl underneath her, on the cushions, scooting closer to her best friend and throwing both arms around her in a huge bear hug. Laughter bubbled up inside her as she practically smothered her best friend, all notions of personal space taking a back burner. "Of bloody course, I missed you, Ki!" CJ was usually content to leave such dramatics to her best friend, but she was in a particularly playful mood today, and she really had missed her sister terribly. Being in the same dorm should've made things easier, but it didn't always mean they had proper chances to spend time together. Sharing with the other girls was awesome, and CJ truly adored their roommates, but sometimes she wanted to be selfish and just spend time with Madison. Like now. The Seeker was pleased when Madison set her textbook aside; not only was it at risk of being toed off by a very childish CJ, but it also meant that Madi was going to set aside work so that they could chat a little. She didn't normally need attention, or affection, as a result of her childhood, but it also meant that it made CJ very chuffed to get them when she did. The sound of the nickname made CJ smile. Her dad was the only who ever got to call her by her name, save of course for Madi, because coming from her best friend, the name didn't remind CJ of her mother, or the expectations that were placed on her shoulders. No... from her fellow Gryffindor, it reminded the Seeker of safety. Of family. Of unconditional love and acceptance. "Bloody well better have," she replied, sniffing teasingly. "I like to think I'm a much better friend than your Potions essay." Glaring at the parchment - and one of the many reasons why the two hadn't hung out much often - CJ inwardly cursed schoolwork before returning her attention to Madison. "How's everything been, Ki?" she asked genuinely, sitting back again only to shimmy downwards and rest her head in Madison's lap. Looking up at her best friend's face, CJ aimed a mischievous grin at her partner in crime. "Devoured that poor Claw that's been chasing after you, yet, or still making him work for it?"@kyles1

"And why do you think I chose this spot?" asked Madi with a wink. She was just kidding, but would Calla know about it, nah she would not. And even if she did, Madi would end up changing the topic, she definitely would not let her best friend feel low. The moment Madison freed herself off of the parchment, she knew that Calla would be over her and true enough, the gryffindor tackled her into a hug, which left the blonde grinning and returning it all the same.
"Missed you too Calla flower" said Madi with a light content smile. "You're cuddly and cute, and that's the only reason why I don't mind you" said Madi as Calla snuggled closer to her. "Besides did you know that there are a few first years who thought we were a couple?! one of them actually came along and asked me that" she said laughing a little. While the two girls didn't swing that way, they sure do attract a lot of attention upon themselves. They were pretty much inseparable and attached to the hip, like quite literally and that usually caused a few raised brows. The older year students have grown used to the duo, but the younger, not soo much from the likes of it.
"Of course," she said looking at Calla as though she accused her of something bad. While she can blame her schoolwork, she knew that she still had a lot of time to spare, but then again with their vastly different schedules, the duo could never manage a time for themselves. While they had the common room and dorm room, the always shared it with few others and while Madi would not complain about her dorm mates, considering that everyone she shares her dorm are her besties. But some alone time with her sister would've been much appreciated."You are jealous of my potions essay?!" said Madi trying to control her bubbling laughter. She shook her head at the other girl and said "trust you for being such a possessive one". As she asked her how everything was, Madi grinned at her, "oh you know the usual" and waved her hand in a dramatic way as she continued "nothing special, what about you?"
As Calla settled her head in her lap, Madi just smiled softly. Sister from another mister, that was the relationship between the girls. Thinking about it now, it seemed like a long time ago when Calla has been soo distant and away from people in general, and looking at her now, Madi felt happy to be there for the brunette, who was now like a sister to her. As Calla asked about the claw, she smirked and said "oh please, you know me.. I like them when they try hard"and laughed. The poor guy has been after her for some time and wanted to take her out on a date, but Madison Roberts never agreed that easily. She always liked to know the willingness of the other person before she granted them a chance to take her out. After all she was special and no one could say otherwise.

CJ huffed a laugh at her best friend's response. "Sneaky as a Snake you're being, Madz, best be careful," she teased good naturedly. She knew Madison would take it in good fun; CJ was hardly one to take much fuss on the whole house rivalry thing; so she didn't much bother about making the comment. "Of course you did," the Seeker nodded matter-of-factly when Madison mentioned missing her too. "I'm a delight." She held her straight face for all of two seconds before breaking out into a mischievous grin. She snuggled into her best friend, humming indulgently when Madison cited her cuddly cuteness as the only reason she was tolerated. "Also, you love me like crazy. You can admit it, you're in a safe place."She had no sooner said this before Madison informed her of the first years that thought they were a couple. She snorted indelicately, the sound muffled by Madison's shoulder, and it took her a moment before she could reply. "Oh, dear Merlin, please tell me that you told the little brat we were Gryffindor's power couple?" Lifting her head, she sent the Chaser a mischievous smirk. "Point the firstie out at breakfast, yeah? It's been a while since I've had reason to muck around with one of their heads."Truthfully, CJ could understand why the kid had thought what he'd thought. She was more affectionate with Madison than she was with anyone, partly due to her comfort with the girl she'd shared a room with for six years, but also due to their rock solid friendship. She trusted her blonde friend more than anyone, and so she felt no qualms showing Madi her softer side. It was a bond she treasured, despite the times people mistook them for a couple. "Too right, I am!" CJ declared when Madison asked if she was jealous of the potions essay. The Seeker glared at the parchment to make her point. "It's evil and tried to take away my Madi time." CJ sniffed imperiously, turning her nose up at the homework assignment before breaking into another grin at being called possessive. She thought briefly about arguing, but decided against it when she realized that she actually was quite covetous over her time with her best friend. She shrugged lightly when asked about her life. "Same wand, different spells," the Seeker responded lightly, choosing not to mention her latest fight with her dad. It would only upset her protective sister. Smirking up at Madison when she gave CJ the scoop on the Claw, the brunette pretended to wipe a tear from her eye. "My little girl is all grown up!" she sniffled, eyes sparkling with mirth. Madison was truly one of the only people to bring out such playfulness in CJ... it always made her so grateful for having befriended her that fateful night six years ago. @kyles1

At her friends teasing, Madi stuck her tongue out and said "look out for me, else I will become a slytherin"she said funnily. No matter what house she was in Madi would be the same, loud and brash. And house of snake was not a problem for her, as she has one of her cousins in the very house. But that did not stop Madi from being weary of that house, not afraid or such, just weary. As the other girl mentioned about loving her, Madi rolled her eyes and said "don't go on and shout it out loud, dunno about you but i would appreciate having a boyfriend for myself in the near future"and huffed a little though one can see that she has a smile on her face. And Calla was not unknown to her love life and her trails to find her prince charming aka someone who would like her for who she was. So far no luck for her. As Calla joked about them being the power couple, Madi landed a small swat on the other girl's hand and said "don't encourage those brats, please"she added. But she knew that when it came to certain things she always lost in front of Calla and this was such times. As she asked her to point out the firstie, Madi looked at her sister and spoke up "i will, but don't frighten the kid"as she looked with an almost stern look. And she wondered how much of that sternness would get through the girl's head. Half of her attempts would usually go over her head considering that if the situations would be reversed, Madi would not listen. Madison actually burst into laughter when CJ mentioned that she was jealous of her essay and said "oh dear merlin what has the world come to"and promptly giggled and poked the other girl and said "you are way better company than the essay, darling"and then as an after thought she added "and nothing would take away your Madi time"as she air quoted the last part. As Calla gave her the world's most vague answer, Madi poked the girl and asked "spill it flower"with a serious face. She knew that there was something which bothered the other one and she would find it out. "The answer was probably the lamest one you've come up in trying to cover up"said as a matter-of-factly. Nothing escaped the blonde girl and Calla knew it very well. When the topic went to the claw, and seeing her dramatics Madi rolled her eyes and said "of course I am grown up darling". @rissa88

"I'd still love ya!" The comment was delivered playfully, the Seeker sending her best friend an exaggerated expression of adoration. That wasn't to say that she didn't completely adore Madi, because she did - just, CJ's truest feelings and emotions were hidden deep inside her. She only ever showed what she wanted people to see; what she was comfortable with other people seeing. That was another beautiful part of their friendship; her sister always knew without asking, how much CJ absolutely loved her. It wasn't in the bear hugs, or irrational jealousy, or dramatic declarations of love... it was in the little things. How CJ looked out for Madi on the Quiddich pitch as much as she looked out for the snitch. How both girls always looked for each other at meals, and rarely went to bed without the other there, and how CJ allowed Madison, and only Madison, to call her by her given name. It was all right there, in those little everyday things, and Madi just knew.
Of course, the dramatics were kind of fun, though.
Adopting her most heartbroken expression, CJ fixed wide eyes and a trembling bottom lip on her best friend. “You’d abandon me, just for a silly boy?” she asked tearfully, really playing it up. Huffing, she leaned back, crossing her arms childishly over her chest. “I miss when we were younger, and we were smart enough to know that boys were icky.” She was comfortable in the teasing, knowing that her friend wouldn’t take it to heart. Truthfully, as big a flirt as both girls were, neither of them were opposed to the idea of committing to the right guy. Now, just for that right guy to come along.
“Please, the brats encourage themselves, darling child, you know that,” CJ laughed, waving a dismissive hand. They had been there once themselves, and had been rather fascinated with what the rumour mill could churn out. “I make no promises,” she added, to Madi’s comment about not scaring the firstie. Tradition was tradition, after all, and really, her best friend should’ve known better than to think she would’ve actually listened.
Grinning at the sound of her best friend’s laughter, CJ curled up against the couch, fully facing the other Lion. “I should think I am!” she sniffed, mock indignant at the comment that she was better company than the potions essay. “I actually make sense – most of the time – and, bonus points, I talk back!” At the slightly more serious comment, about nothing taking away her Madi time, CJ smiled softly, hearing the unspoken words. That no matter how hectic life got with the both of them, that Madison would always be there.
And she was.
CJ should’ve known better than to think that Madi wouldn’t pick up on her vague answer. Her smile dimmed, and she shrugged sheepishly at the directive to spill, silently agreeing that her attempt to dissuade her friend really had been miserable.
“Just another little spat with dear old Dad,” she eventually answered lightly. “Nothing to worry about Ki.” Choosing her words carefully, so as to avoid cussing the man out, she elaborated, “He’s still pretty dead-set on me coming home, letting him home-school me on account of the attacks. I told him I couldn’t ever leave you here, and now I think he thinks we’re dating, too,” she added jokingly. The quip was aimed at two things; getting Madi to smile, and also letting her friend know that she actually was okay. And she always would be, as long as she had Madi, and her friends, and her magic, and this world.
Nudging the blonde playfully, the brunette smirked, “Not too grown up, I hope?” Her sly smile, Madison would easily be able to tell, meant one thing; mischief.
(@kyles1 - FINALLY, lovely!)

Madison rolled her eyes playfully when Calla commented back. Nothing would stop the girl from her dramatics and at times like these, they would go way above her. And when she saw Calla tearing up, she felt bad and immediately she spoke up "of course not my dear Calla, none and I say now, no one can ever come between you and me. Yo uar far too precious my dear sister"she said and drew the other girl into a hug. She would never abandn her friend over a guy. YThey have been through soo much and no guy can ever take her place. She still cannot forget the day when Madi felt soo over protective when it came to CJ. It took a lot of persuasion from her side to finally get the girl to open up and tak about her life. And when she did, Madi instantly knew that she was the sister she had always asked for. May be they were not related, but the duo sure as hell were perfect and it was no secret among their families. Calla was an honarary Smith by all means and Mr. Luca had always trusted Madi went it came to CJ.
When she began to tease her, Madison just chuckled and said "truth be told, I agree. There was never a competition for the guy you want"as she sighed a little. And immediately she regretted saying it. But then again, by this time she was sure that Calla would've known about her thoughts on a certain gryffindor hottie. But she chose to stay quiet and not explain it further. They can talk about it later, if the brunette insisted on it. She did not want the news all over Hogwarts by the end of the day. Nope, she woud not like her name on everyone's mouth.
At CJ's comment, all Madi could do was shake her head and hope that the firstie would not complain against them. While she trusted her sister, when it came to matters like these, she has way too much fun and that might not be funny at all for the other party involved, in this case the first year. And letting out a half-hearted sigh she said "don't come back to me with a crying firstie".
At Calla' comparision with her potions essay, it took every ounce of Madison to not burst out into full-blown laughter. And instead she let out a giggle and said "wow sister, wow. on devrait apprendre de toi she said slipping back to her mother tongue, French. And she was sure that CJ would understand what she meant, for living with Madi all these years made the other girl to understand some very common phrases which Madi often uses. While Madi never had an accent in the way she usually speaks, she does slip into French once in a while, when experiencing high emotions. She then
When madi had insisted the other girl to talk, she knew that it would be mostly about papa De luca. Since they were first years, she had taken to reference Calla's father as Papa De Luca, and that kind of stuck with her even after all these years. She shook her head sadly when Calla explained waht the actual reason was. She did crack a smile in the end when she mentioned his thought that the two were dating, and said "sorry papa De Luca, I don't swing that way, and neither does calla, unless she is hiding something from me"and chuckled. As much as she wanted to continue their talk about the letter, common room was not the place and this was neither the time to discuss such matters. And so she decided to drop the talk for now, and she knew that Calla would know that the talk was still pending and she would get the girl talking when they were in the dorm room.
"Never too grown up," she said with a smirk, fully understanding what CJ meant.
on devrait apprendre de toi - one should learn from you
