Rosie was released from the hospital wing the day after the accident. For a few days she had a few bruises, but her bones healed perfectly well and before too long she was back to normal, well normal enough. Seeing the girl who hurt her in the halls still made her stomach lurch, but besides that, she was catching up on the classes and assignments that she missed and her friends and everyone else were being really nice and sweet to her. She had spent a lot of time in her room and in the castle and now she was glad to have an excuse to go out, and with someone that Brandon deemed trustworthy, he himself.
Rosie walked up to the entrance hall from the Hufflepuff Common Room below with her head held high and her normal smile on her face. She had been trying hard for the past couple of days to put the recent events behind her, and while she knew it wasn't as easy as pretending it never happened, it was working so far. Rosie saw the good in every situation. Brandon, who she had a crush on, had asked her out while she was recovering in the hospital, and while she knew the two really didn't have anything to do with each other, it was something good at least, something to focus on rather than the event.
She got the Entrance hall and looked around. She honestly wasn't sure what he had planned but she didn't really mind because she found the whole thing really exciting. Rosie had decided to dress up just a little for the event, she wore a yellow dress with black leggings underneath, she hadn't meant to wear Hufflepuff colors, so she added a red cardigan over the top, half to offset the color combo and because it was still chilly outside. She didn't see Brandon immediately and figured she should just wait, she was probably early anyway, however, there were quite a few other students around so it was possible he was just somewhere in the crowd.

Brandon was so nervous about tonight. Granted, he planned out an evening full of things that he thought she would enjoy, but the nerves were still there. After asking out a girl he knew for seven years (forgetting the one year when he was gone), he didn't know what to expect. A part of him was nervous that he would do something to mess it up, but he decided that even if they weren't meant to date one another, they could still be friends. He was determined that Rosie would be a close friend no matter what. Still, that didn't stop a part of him from wanting there to be more between them. Which was why Brandon went to the entrance hall thirty minutes early. He'd dressed nice for him, in dark jeans with a plaid shirt. He sat on a bench in the entrance hall, waiting for his friend- no, date- to show up. He watched as people walked by on their way outside, trying to be patient. This was the bad part about showing up early for things. Then, she was there. Brandon grinned and stood up, moving closer to her. "Hey Rosie. Are you ready to have some fun?" He asked, a wide smile on her face. "You look great, by the way," he added. She did. She looked gorgeous and he was so excited to be going on a date with her, that she said yes to him in the first place. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie was glad to see that he was already there, waiting when she got there. She didn't want to seem to overly eager by getting their early, but it had appeared that he was even earlier, which made her feel a little less anxious and nervous about the whole thing. Rosie had never been on a date, and while she had heard all about all of her roommates dates, she felt like it wasn't the same as going on one herself.
"Hey!" she greeted him and wasn't sure whether she should hug him or not so she just left a little bit of an awkward pause before she said anything else. "Oh thanks." she blushed a little when he said that she looked great, "You look really good too, plaid is a good look on you." she admitted. "Yeah I'm really excited... what's in store for the night?" she asked.

She was smiling at him, but also looked a little bit nervous. As they reached one another, Brandon leaned in and gave her a quick hug, trying to make her feel more comfortable around him, but not really sure if it would work. This was a date so things were bound to be a bit awkward, but Brandon hoped they'd get more comfortable as they went along. He nodded when she told him that he looked good. "Thanks Rosie," he said with a smile. Then she asked what they were going to do and he smiled wryly at her. "That is for me to know and you to find out, my dear," he said with a wink. Then he grabbed her hand and started pulling her toward the door. "Come on, Rosie, let's go," he said confidently. "What's your favorite thing to eat?" he asked as they walked. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie was glad when he hugged her because it meant that she had the right idea. She didn't know why she was so nervous, she and Brandon had spent time together alone plenty of times before, but this was so different, then again, at the same time it was exactly the same, well, minus the butterflies in her stomach and the silly grin plastered on her face. "Okay, I trust you." she said as he took her hand and began to lead her out of the castle. Where could they be going? She had so many questions, but she was glad to just be along for the ride. It was a mystery and she had to suppress her need to know, but she took a deep breath and decided to just have fun and go with it. She really did trust him. "Um, maybe pasta." she admitted. Didn't everyone like carbs? "Yeah probably pasta, with tomato sauce and garlic bread." she decided. "Why? What's yours?" she asked, a little suspicion in her eyes.

Brandon couldn't help but grin when Rosie said she trusted him. "Thank you, Rosie." Sure, he expected that since she agreed to go on this date with him. If she didn't trust him, she wouldn't have agreed to it. The walk to the Durmstrang ship wasn't far, but Brandon wanted to make sure he and Rosie enjoyed every chance to be with one another. He smiled. "Pasta is good. I also like pizza and sandwiches and ... well, really everything," he told her honestly. He grinned at her. "I've never actually eaten something that I don't like," he shrugged. Then they were almost at the ship and he figured it was probably obvious where they were going. "Have you ever been on a ship before, Rosie?" he asked with yet another smile. He couldn't seem to do anything else while he was with her. She just had that effect on him and he loved it. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie nodded when he added Pizza and sandwiches to his list. She giggled a little when he said that he never ate something that he didn't like. "Well, did you ever know that I like to cook?" she asked. It was true, her mom had taught her to cook and bake while she was young and it was a skill that she kept. Writing and cooking. Those were her hobbies, her things. "I used to be in the kitchens all of the time my first year because cooking reminded me of my mom and being home, so I'd go down there and cook with the house elves whenever I felt homesick. They loved the company and were thrilled to eat anything I made." though, they might have been bias or acting overly nice to make her happy. But actual humans had tried to her food and they liked it too. Rosie got a little excited when she saw that he was taking her to the Durmstrang ship. "I've been on ferry boats." she nodded. Ireland was an island and whenever her dad needed to get to the UK for work they would take a ferry. "Nothing this big though." she added in awe. "Am I allowed inside?" she asked.

Rosie giggled at his comment about food ... and then went on to say that she liked cooking. Wait. She liked to cook. That was perfect! Brandon started laughing and then squeezed her hand. "I have a feeling that's going to work out great," he teased. "I think I'm going to have to make you cook for me so I can eat it. If it's good enough for the house elves, I'm sure it's good enough for me." He nodded confidently. Then she said that she'd been on ferry boats and Brandon smiled at her. "Well, if this one was moving you'd probably notice a difference, and when I give you a tour you'll notice, but it should be pretty stationary while we eat dinner." He paused, realizing he just gave away what they were doing. Then he shrugged, pretending like he meant to do it all along. "Of course you can go inside. That's why I'm going to give you a tour." He paused for a moment. "Do you like that idea?" If not, he could come up with something else quickly, but it would be better for him to know now rather than later. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie blushed when he said she would have to cook for him, perhaps he was just being polite, but she still liked the idea. He gave away their plans for the evening and Rosie felt a large, silly smile form across her face. "We're going to eat on your ship?" she asked. "That's so exciting! I've always wondered what it looked like. I assumed it had to be bigger than it looks since it fits all of you," she could have gone on, but she decided to calm down and save some of her babbling for once they actually got inside the ship. A part of her wondered if they would run into Adonia since she was a Durmstrang student too, but she did trust Brandon and she knew he wouldn't let anything happen to her. She realized he then asked to make sure that she liked the idea for the date that he had planned, she nodded. "Yeah! I love it! It's very cool." she admitted. "Lead the way, captain." just a little ship humor that after she said it, she almost regretted saying.

She had a huge smile on her face, which made Brandon feel so good about everything. He wanted her to enjoy herself and have fun with him. He nodded at her question. "Yup! To the ship we go. Dinner on the deck followed by as much of a tour as you want." He smiled again when she said she'd always wondered what it looked like. "Well you won't have to wonder much longer," he said with a nod. This was going to be great! Earlier in the day he'd asked some house elves to make a meal for them and then he brought it out to the ship, where he'd set up a small table in one of the corners on the deck. Hopefully she would like the view. She said she was excited about the idea and then told him to lead the way, calling him captain. He winked at her, pulling her a little faster. They finally reached the boat and he led her onto it carefully, showing her the table. He pulled out the chair for her. "My lady," he said with a smile. Then he sat in front of her, pulling out the basket of food. "Are you ready for this?" Brandon's tone was excited. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie followed Brandon onto the boat and really liked how excited he seemed about it all. It made her feel justified in how excited she felt. She wondered if maybe how happy and excited she was came off as annoying, but he didn't seem to mind, he kept smiling which made her feel a lot more at ease about being on her first date. "I would love a tour!" she added with an enthusiastic nod. He led her out onto the deck of the ship and to a little table in the corner. Rosie felt the boat swaying a little, and while the feeling was a little discombobulating, it was fun. He pulled out her chair for her and she sat down, feeling her face go red. She was so impressed. He was being such a gentleman and while she had always known that Brandon was a nice guy, this was honestly a little more than she expected, but in a very good, impressive way. He had really gone over board, pardon the boat pun. He sat down and pulled out a basket and asked her if she was ready, "I don't know." she admitted with a smile. "Am I?"

It was refreshing, taking Rosie on a date. First of all, she was just so happy. Most people would smile, but also seemed nervous when they went on dates. However, in this case Rosie wasn't hiding how she felt, which was a big relief to him. He grinned at her when she said she would like a tour. "Then you will definitely get one," he reaffirmed with a smile and a nod. Once they were sitting, he looked to her, staring for just a moment. She was so beautiful and he felt so lucky to be here with her. He shrugged when she asked if she was ready. "I don't know either. The house elves packed a surprise dinner for us." He moved to open the basket and then froze. "What if we take turns taking things out of the basket?" he asked impulsively. He waited a few moments and then turned his head away from the basket, reaching in with one hand and pulling out ... bread. He smiled and then handed the basket over to her. "Your turn," he said with a smile. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie loved the idea of his little game. The house elves had prepared a surprise meal and not even he knew what was in the basket. He picked it up, reached in and pulled out bread. Okay, interesting. Your turn, he handed the basket over to her. She laughed a little and then reached her hand into the basket as well. She felt for the first thing that she could reach and pulled out a sack containing several pieces of fruit. "I'm wondering if everything is somehow supposed to go together of if it's all random." she admitted and then passed the basket back to him. She looked all around her, it was a nice March evening and the lake looked really lovely. The castle sat majestically in the distance and there were a handful of various students around them, but no one was paying them any attention, everyone was doing their own thing, which was nice. It was a lovely evening, there was a gentle breeze and the ship was swaying every so slightly, something she was sure the durmstrang students probably wouldn't even notice anymore since they slept on it every night, but her never having been on it before, she noticed it and found it actually kind of comforting.

Rosie seemed to be excited about the idea and Brandon was glad. Granted, by the time he actually gave her a chance to say what she thought of it, he was already passing the basket to her. At least she was a good sport. She pulled out a sack that had ... fruit in it. Brandon laughed as she passed the basket back to her. "Maybe they're just the components of a meal," he answered in a teasing voice. He took his own turn, reaching his hand in and pulling out a ... container? He opened it and smiled, pleased because he assumed that Rosie would be happy with what they were having for dinner. "It's spaghetti," he told her with a small laugh. Hooray to the house elves for giving him pasta. "I think there's something else in there, maybe a drink? Or a dessert ..." he passed the basket over to her again, ready to start eating but wanting everything out in the open first. He was excited. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie smirked when he pulled out a container filled with pasta, "Ohh how convenient." she teased a little, she had just told him that pasta was her favorite food, however, if he had told the house elves who he was going out with, it was likely that they remembered her and knew what she liked to eat the most, so it did make sense a bit. It was something that she would make a lot when she would go down to the kitchens. He passed the basket back to her and she felt two bottles rolling around inside. She pulled out, "Pumpkin Juice." she announced. "A safe choice." she added. "It all kind of goes together then." she gave a small nod, the fruit was an odd touch, but the house elves were odd, and maybe it was meant as a side or desert or appetizer. Either way, it was perfect. "It smells good." she admitted setting the basket down on the deck next to her.
