James finally decided it was time for him to get out and about into the real world again. He had spent plenty of time keeping himself locked up in the house after the news of Abigail. He knew he needed to get back into society. He needed to visit Fred and Finn, soon. He needed to see his siblings soon. He wanted to talk to Alice. Luckily, he had been so fortunate enough to have someone like Natalia who was such a rock during his mourning period. He knew that she probably would have gladly come along with him on this outing to Hogsmeade, but he truthfully hadn't asked her to join him because he knew that he needed to do this alone.
The Gryffind alum had decided to visit Zonko's Joke Shop. He wasn't sure at first, standing outside of the store, if he should go in or not. He had so many memories associated with Abby in this store that he was sure it was bound to be painful going in, but then he realized that he really needed to try to work past that. So, with a deep breath James entered the store.
He didn't know what he had been expecting; if he had thought that some huge wave of emotion was going to sweep over him or what... but it never did. James let out a breath he didn't know he had been holding and then began to browse around the shop. Since he was here, he figured he could use some new prank products. They were no Weasley Wizard Wheezes, but Zonko's was top quality stuff. He decided he would buy something for both Finn and Fred for their inevitable first reunion without Abby. Perhaps that would help lift spirits.

@jams so far it had been a decent trip to hogsmeade. he'd spent the better part of his time spent there in the three broomsticks drinking with a few friends. there wouldn't be many opportunities after school ended to catch up with the friend he'd made so he was making an effort to at least spend time with the ones he could tolerate the best. though he'd left not long ago, needing some air and to stretch his legs. what he hadn't expected was his brother to be walking into the joke shop. well that was a bit of a surprise. he shook his head a little and made a beeline towards the shop. he hadn't seen james since abby's death and he wanted to see how he was. he pushed his hoodie down as he stepped into the shop of jokes and he glanced around, looking for the familiar figure of his brother. when he spotted it he walked over, leaning against one of the racks at the end of the aisle and he shook his head. "isn't this a little far to come for jokes?" he asked, almost a little loud to make sure that james heard him. "i mean i'm sure uncle george would drop dead of a heart attack if he saw you here when you could have gone to his place." al said with a grin, glancing around at the items in the rack next to him.

James wandered his way around the shop until he found a section that looked like it was "bath" pranks for the restroom. James let out a quiet chuckle at this section, as it seemed new to him for he couldn't remember this being here a year ago. Then again, he hadn't really spent a lot of time in Zonko's his seventh year. James began to look more closely at the items on the shelves, his eyes landing on something called "frog spawn soap." His eyes widened in wonder as he picked it up and looked over the box, thinking this gift would be perfect for Finn when he heard someone speak from next to him.
The Gryffindor turn his head, expecting to see he a cousin, maybe, but not expecting to see his younger brother. Instantly a smile spread across his face. He hadn't seen Albus since... well, he couldn't even put a finger on the last time he had seen his brother. That was weird. His smile turned into a wicked smirk. "You ain't gonna tell him, are ya?" He joked then walked over to his brother placing a hand on his shoulder in greeting. "It's good to see you, Al."

@jams "You ain't gonna tell him, are ya?" al smirked slightly and shrugged his shoulders. "i'm not the only weasley in town today. someone else might have seen you and been as horrified as i was." he said with a laugh. it had been a while since he and james had caught up, abby's funeral to be exact. that had been a hard day, harder for james though. he'd been close to her. al had just been her friend. "It's good to see you, Al." he nodded slightly and he had to agree. it was good to see james, with all the stuff that had been happening in the last few years any chance he got to see his brother was usually a good one. even when they'd ended up fighting because james had still been alive. "ditto." he said, looking at one of the shelves. "got time for a drink?" he asked, glancing over his shoulder. "the hogs head will probably be empty of students." he said, turning his attention back to his brother. the students who knew james would probably congregate around him the second he walked into the three broomsticks so al suggested a quieter place.
