He ordered their drinks and Kara took her drink happily, grinning at him and raising the glass. "To many of those," Kara agreed, tapping her glass against his before taking a sip of her own drink. Then she lowered the glass for a moment before taking another sip. Scotch was served only a little at a time, so there really wasn't that much to nurse, anyway, "the question now is... do we dance more, or make the night more interesting?" she offered, her head tilting to the side a little bit. "We order something stronger... our first date oughta be special, don't you think?' she teased.

Poe chuckled when Kara toasted to many drinks. He had expected her to be a bit wild, but this was a different kind of wild – one that Poe wasn’t familiar with. He wasn’t a fan of alcohol, which was funny, because he seemed to be drinking a lot of it lately in pursuit of finding a partner. That was a normal thing to do, though, because drinks loosened the tongue and exposed more of the person beneath the mask they held up for society. “More drinks is always a good idea.” Poe said, knocking back the entire drink before turning back to Kara. Drinking it all at once probably wasn’t going to be good as far as keeping him from getting fall-down drunk, but Poe didn’t have much of an alcohol tolerance anyways, thanks to his general dislike of it. “What would make this date special enough for you?” Poe purred.

He said more drinks was always a good idea and she laughed. Then, after he knocked back his entire drink, she finished hers a little more quickly. He asked what would make this date special for her and she leaned toward him, resting one arm on his shoulder and pursing her lips a little in thought. "Well, aside from taking you home and doing a little more dancing there..." she smirked, her eyes twinkling mischievously, "but maybe we can start with doing something we've both never done before," she suggested. That would be hard, with her, but there were some things that would do the trick.

Dancing on their own was definitely an idea that Poe was interested in, but he had to remind himself that he was a gentleman and that sort of dancing didn’t happen until the third date. Okay, maybe the second, but that was only because Kara wanted to and he was bad at saying no to her (and also very attracted to her, but that was a different issue altogether). Poe chuckled when Kara said that they could make their date special by doing something they’d never done before. “I think you’ve probably done more than me.” Poe had no trouble admitting that most of the time, he wasn’t all that wild. There was a part of him, yes, but generally it had to be coaxed out by someone like Kara. “So what’s something you’ve never done before?” He could just take his pick from whatever she listed off.

Poet said that she probably did more than he, and she laughed loudly. "I am sure of it," she said. Then he asked what was something she'd never done before and she cocked her head to the side. "I've never... gone sky diving, oddly enough. But it may be late for that. I've never drank something that is supposed to drive you wild with one shot, I usually prefer to remember the way down," she chuckled, "I've never ridden a motorcycle... which I realize now is entirely ridiculous," she started looking around, instinctively looking for someone who maybe had a 'motorcycle' look about them. Though, that would be kind of silly to pursue while she was on a date with Poet. She turned back to him and chuckled, "it's so few things that it's hard to think of them specifically," she admitted in all honesty.

Poe quirked an eyebrow when Kara said that she’d never gone sky diving before. “I haven’t, either.” He was all about flying planes, but jumping out of them? That was where Poe drew the line. That line would probably get a little softer if Kara wanted him to do it with her, though. She hadn’t made the invitation yet, though, and Poe wasn’t about to continue to invite himself to do things with her. He probably did that enough with Karen. “What sort of drink would that be?” He asked when Kara mentioned she’d never drank anything that could get her drunk in one shot. “I’m not very adventurous with alcohol, period.” Poe admitted. Since he didn’t like losing control of himself, alcohol was not high on his to-do list unless he was with someone he really liked, or really trusted. Outside of firewhiskey and butterbeer, Poe could name the number of alcohols he’d tasted on one hand. “I bet driving a motorcycle is a lot like driving a plane, right?” That sounded like something worth pursuing.

He asked what kind of drink that would be and she turned back to the bar, eyes narrowing on the drinks they had. "Well... I've heard of this drink, Absinthe," she smirked, turning toward him. "I don't think it's original intention was for consumption but.... what say you?" she challenged. At his words about flying a plane and driving a motorcycle being similar, she laughed. "I'm not sure! Guess we should try both sometime and see how similar they are," she suggested. She was now seriously considering getting a motorcycle.

Poe was going to admit it: he kind of stopped listening to Kara the moment she said the word absinthe, because it meant that he had a goal. Poe approached the bar and got them both a shot – glass? He didn’t even know how the damn drink was served – of the drink, raising his eyebrows at the bright green color. He thought only Wizarding cocktails were that bright of hues, but apparently he was wrong. Poe handed one of the glasses to Kara, and didn’t hesitate before he knocked his back, sending himself into absinthe-laced oblivion. If he kissed Kara once, or twice, or a hundred times between then and when he took her home, well, there were no witnesses…
