She didn't say anything back for a few moments and his heart was racing the whole time, but time seemed to slow down. What was she thinking? He could see that she was obviously surprised by his announcement and he didn't blame her for being surprised. It had kind of came out of nowhere. He hadn't meant to say it... well, he had. He meant it. But, he hadn't planned to say it tonight. He felt it, and he could tell, but he wasn't sure that he had registered that he loved her until he heard the words come out of his own mouth. He did. He loved her. He had never said that to anyone before. It was something that he was pretty sure that he had never felt before, except for with his family, of course. But that was a different type of love. But, when she took so long to say anything in reply, he began to worry. She didn't feel it back, did she? They had only been dating since the beginning of April. Only a month. It was way too soon. He should have waited. She finally put him out of his misery, telling him that she loved him too. He sighed in relief as she kissed him and he very passionately kissed her back. "I'm really glad to hear you say that." he admitted, feeling a little out of breath.

His relief at her words was obvious, even before she kissed him. Still, Kinsey didn’t expect such a passionate response. She melted in his arms, delighted by what just happened between them. She knew things were moving quickly, but honestly ... with Riley nothing ever went slow. They met and became friends and a week later they were dating. She knew most people wouldn’t be alright with such a fast-moving relationship, but it just fit. Riley loved her. He did and she believed him, despite what Dom said. As he pulled away, saying he was glad, Kinsey felt a knot of guilt in her stomach. Riley should know, shouldn’t he? Or would it cause them problems? ”Not as happy as I was to hear you say it,” she teased, making her decision. She looked at him and smiled, ”You keep on telling me things like that and it won’t matter what anyone else thinks about me.” Except for when she was with Dom and he was berating her ... but if she could go straight to Riley after she’d be okay, right? She rested her head on his shoulder, relaxing more. He loved her.

Riley hated that someone was able to get to her so badly and make her question everything he had ever told her. Who was awful enough to target such an innocent girl and make her feel bad about everything in her life. Who had convinced her that no one loved her and that she didn’t deserve the love if they did? What power must they have over her? “Just don’t even listen to them, Kins. You know I love you. No one should ever be able to convince you otherwise.” except maybe him, if they ever broke up for whatever reason, but that wasn’t what he was trying to convey in this thought. He wanted to reassure her that she was loved and important and that her bully was wrong and would continue to be wrong. Of course he would always be there for her. He couldn’t wait until they were graduated and the bully couldn’t corner her anymore. When they could finally lead a more private, separate life. “Come on, let’s get you inside.” he insisted. “We can go get some dinner?” he offered, knowing that she hadn’t eaten yet since it was just about dinner time now.
(I think you can end it ) @kinsey

He insisted that he loved her and that she shouldn't listen to the people who made her feel bad about herself. She nodded, "I believe you," she answered softly. It was the truth. She trusted Riley completely, which wasn't very common, since she had the ability to sense when people were being dishonest with her. "Thank you Riley." He said that they should get inside, maybe get some dinner and Kinsey nodded, "That sounds like a good idea," she agreed, letting him lead her into the castle feeling a million times better than she felt when she came out. Riley loved her. He would protect her and help her, even when things got difficult. He wouldn't give up on her and, for now, that was all Kinsey needed to know. --- the end --- @riley
