too good to be real After what seemed like an eternity, Hogwarts was feeling the same for Adrian. While he got a chance to talk and interact with students from other schools, he could not accept the other students walking around the castle as though it were their own. But that was all done and over with, as only a few hours ago they bade farewell to the school students. And right now all Adrian could think of was freedom to roam around once again and his cat seemed to agree with him. When he started Hogwarts and had a choice to choose a pet, Adrian had decided to have cat which could be with him rather than an owl which scares the shit out of him at times. The talons and eyes of an owl always make Adrian uncomfortable and thus he opted for a fluffy Siberian grey cat, which was a mere kit when he brought it to Hogwarts along with him. He had named it Felix, after the potions he likes- Felix Felicis. It was not a bad choice of name, and his cat too liked it a lot.
As Adrian stepped out from his bed, he picked up Felix and cradling the now six year old cat in his arms, he walked out of the castle and towards the pond. He had found it quite a peaceful place over time and it was a safe place for his cat to play around. He could never go near the Whomping Willow, nor could he go near the Black lake, thus leaving the small pond his only option. No sooner had Adrian reached the place, Felix wriggled in his arms and jumped onto the ground and moved round in a circle, his tail high up in the air, as though it was checking the place out, which made Adrian chuckle. Deeming the place appropriate, Felix began to relax, and then with a soft purr it tugged on his robes. Shaking his head at the cat, Adrian settled down leaning against a tree. No sooner had he sat down, Felix curled up in his lap and began to get comfortable. Adrian just let the cat be and looked up at the quidditch pitch where he could see a few figures flying. He decided to get out onto the pitch tomorrow at some time and practice before the school year ends. It was only two weeks away after all, and while he wa not worried about his exams, he knew that he needed a break every now and then.

Rosie felt a little emptier without the foreign students around. Well, she felt a little empty without Brandon around. Having him back this year felt so right, like he never left. And now he was gone, they had just started their way back and everyone was still completely unaware to events of the next few hours. How weird it would feel to look back on this conversation, this brief period of thinking that they had two weeks left. No one yet knew that the school year would end early. Rosie was still in a period of cramming for her NEWTs and felt stressed out of her mind regarding them. She had seen off the two groups during their departure and knew that she had to get back to her dorm to work on some revising. However, before she went back into the basement common room, she decided to take a walk, try to clear her head and maybe even stop by the kitchens for a coffee before she headed back down stairs.
She walked past the lake and by the pond where she saw a man sat with his cat, who was playfully kneading his robes. Rosie, someone who loved, loved, loved animals of all kinds, couldn't help herself from smiling. "He's so sweet. Can I pet him? Is he nice?" she asked, approaching slowly so she wouldn't scare the creature.

too good to be real Adrian had been lost in his thoughts when he heard footsteps approaching him. While a part of him had come back to the world of living, he was not in a mood to acknowledge said person, for he was not sure who it was. But Felix on the other hand seemed to be interested to see who the new person was and it raised his head, and that prompted Adrian to look too. He saw to his surprise that it was Rosalie Williams, a hufflepuff from above his year. He had heard a lot about this brunette witch, not that he was going to judge her on such rumors. They were just that, rumors spread by people and unless he knows firsthand about the other person, Adrian would often refrain from forming any judgement from his side. And thus, he just smiled at her and looked at his cat who was the reason she was approaching him.
Well, it may not be him, but it was his cat after all, and with that smug thought, he spoke up "he sure is sweet, but I would rather call him mischievous" he said and the cat somehow sensing that his human was talking about him, looked rather smug for a feline. When she asked about petting Felix, he gave a nod and said "go on" as he picked up the grey cat and set it on the ground, so that it would not be awkward for the other girl. At her next question, he gave a slight smile and said "I wouldn't say nice, but he usually behaves, won't you Felix" and hoped that his feline did the same and not do something which would make him embarrassed. He did not want to be caught in such a situation.

The man sitting against the tree gave her permission to pet his cat. Rosie knelt down a bit and gave the furry animal a gentle scratch between the ears just as her own cat liked. He said he wouldn’t exactly call his cat nice, but said that he usually behaved fairly well. Rosie wouldn’t blame the feline for biting or scratching her if he didn’t like her touch, she never blamed animals for acting defensively. “I’ve got a cat back in the common room. Her lazy bones rarely leaves. She loves the warmth of the fire.” Rosie admitted with a smile while she pet the cat. Goldie wasn’t very old, she was just about 9, which was getting old for a cat, but she still had a few good years left in her.
Rosie could understand why people might know who she was. Her past 6 years had been calm enough, but over the past few months she knew her name had been through the rumor mill a time or two. First with the attack… err… her run in with the girl from Durmstrang who had sent her to the hospital wing. And then when Brandon asked her out she was sure people took a bit of interest in that since he had once been a Hufflepuff, even if he was now a Durmstrang student and people had apparently found the story cute since after all these years, even a few apart, they had gotten together now. Plus, there was always those who knew who her mom was from her time at Hogwarts and as part of the Order, or, as a Quidditch player after the war. “I’m Rosie Williams.” she introduced herself. The boy was familiar looking, but not someone that she thought she had run into before. He definitely wasn’t in her year or house.

too good to be real Adrian watched on as the elder girl approached his cat and was petting it. And lucky for him, Felix seemed to like it and snuggled into the girls hand which made Adrian roll his eyes. Backstabbing cat, he always found that Felix absolutely loves the attention he gets and he was very much like him in that manner. But the only difference was that, Felix would go on with anyone who would offer him extra attention. Now that he thought about it, he felt that it must be a natural instinct of a cat, to roam around and garner attention from others and enjoy it. As the girl spoke up about having her own cat, he gave a chuckle and said "cats always like warm places and that's why mine always stays snuggled up by my side", looking at his feline fondly. He added "apparently my dorm room is a bit cold for him" and shook his head. While he would not say that the dungeons were all cold, but that was only in the winter. But rest of the year it would be alright. But then again compared to the other three dormitories his was a bit cold.
As the girl introduced herself, Adrian understood that she didn't know him. And that was not acceptable at all. Everyone should at least recognise him. Well that's about to change he thought with a smile as he nodded back at her and said "pleased to meet you Ms Williams" ever charmingly, I'm Adrian Vector, sixth year Slytherin and please call me as Adrian" he said with an ease. He did not even have to ask about her year or house. He knew that already, and now that he knew for sure who it was he wondered how she was doing now that her boyfriend has left from Hogwarts. It had been a very surprising moment for Adrian, when Brandon had asked this brunette girl to be his girlfriend. Not that he disliked the couple or anything, bit he just didn't expect that to happen.

Rosie had been having quite the year. She hadn’t expected her 7th year to go quite the way that it did. Starting with the Yule Ball there had been drama everywhere, it seemed. Maybe it had actually even started sooner. However, Rosie had kept a fairly low profile until around the midway point of the year. She hadn’t attended the ball with anyone, but she had danced with another boy from Durmstrang, but she was pretty sure his friends had dared him to ask her. And things just snowballed out of control from there. This time tomorrow, she’d be an emotional mess, as she had been a few times already this year, and at the end of the last, but for now, her future looked bright and she was glad to be along for the ride.
“Cats are finicky like that.” she smiled with a nod. Rosie had always enjoyed the company of animals, sometimes even over the company of humans, whom she always enjoyed talking to. Animals were simple and easy to understand, plus, their presence always relaxed her a little. “It’s nice to meet you, Adrian.” she smiled to the man also, she always loved meeting new people and getting to know new friends. Rosie wasn’t someone who cared about what house people were in, she saw people for the people that they were rather than the labels that had been placed upon them. “What brings you out here today?” he asked casually.
