Benji wants the world to be peaceful and fun and safe. He feels like the casino is a place where people can activate their brains and have some fun even in such a bad world, he is just glad he can keep that place safe and take care of the people in it.

Benji is a series of contradictions. His eyes show someone in pain, someone serious, someone unwilling to participate, but his body does the opposite. He's happy to join in the fun when the occasion calls for it, even though he isn't invited most of the time because he doesn't look like someone who would want to join on the outside.
He believes in trusting his instincts the majority of the time but can over think the most random things. When it comes to personal relationships, he doesn't like to let people get close to him easily, mostly because he would rather they just like him for who he is from afar rather than getting to know his personal feelings about things.
Benji can be described like a river. When he's in a good place he is calm and gentle, playful and bubbly. But when something starts to stir inside him he can knock you off your feet, his focus and determination to stand up for what he believes aggressive. He loves deeply, is insanely loyal, and has high expectations for himself.
He tries to show kindness to everyone he meets, but can be fairly harsh if he already formed a bad opinion of you. Once he decides you are a 'bad person' it is really hard to get in his good graces. He judges people too quickly and generally assumes that his first impression of a person is correct. This is something that he isn't working to overcome, for he doesn't see this as a problem. The sooner you label people, the less time you'll waste and the less you'll get hurt.
He knows how important it is to focus on the task at hand, and understands that there are times when being part of the crowd must take a rest, and the most important thing to do is stay focused on the task at hand. However, even when he is joining in the fun he is still very aware of everything around him, ready to change pace at any second if there is a problem.

history:
Benji lived in his home city of Rahim Yar Khan, Pakistan for only four years before he was adopted by the Fitzpatricks. He lost his parents when he was two due to wars in his country. At least, that was what he was told. He later found that they ended up evacuating the city and leaving him behind. He was placed in an orphanage, and thankfully was adopted before his fifth birthday, and didn't show any signs of magic before that point.
Later on in life he learned this about his parents; his mother was a muggle, and part of a politically active family. His father was a wizard, and that took some digging to find out. The two were married in an arranged marriage, and the reason they fled was because his mothers family was on the side of the war that was not doing so well. They were rushed to safety while Benji was home with someone else taking care of him, and they never came back.
His middle and last name where given to him when he was adopted by the Fitzpatricks. Declan and Quinn were magizoologists and travelled often. While looking for magical creatures in Pakistan, they found Benji and decided to adopt him. It was a fairly easy process and he was a part of the travelling family.
His siblings had the choices of going to Hogwarts or being home schooled and he chose to be taught by his parents and travel with them. He learned all about magic and many creatures. He was a quiet child for the most part, but if he was invited to play with other kids, including his siblings, he would have a great time.
He made snap decisions about people and continues to do so, and most of the time his guess about them has turned out to be right. He traveled with his parents for eighteen years. They had a home in England, which made it easier to have a home base to make friends. Once he turned eighteen, he started to do some travelling on his own and that's where he made friends with Bellamy Fawley, while out and about in the world.
They became fast friends, and when she decided to open a Casino he moved to England to help her do it, taking the job as her head of security. He was happy to help her build a business because it would make her happy and it would be a place where people could have a good time.
The attacks started, with the kid on the train all the way up to the current attack on the Ship and Carriage. During all of this, Benji stayed focused on the casino and the security there. They had shady characters there from time to time, he knew, and a part of him was looking even harder for those that seem suspicious. He wants the world to be a safe place, and he knows at the moment he can only affect the casino. Not Hogwarts or anywhere else. At least, that's what he thinks now. He isn't entirely aware of an Order that he could take part in yet to help things and restore peace.
As for the Tri-Wizard tournament, the casino became much busier when it first started. The nights before and during the tasks were also busy, with people placing bets. So many people got worked up about it, excited and thrilled to have something to bet on and something else on their minds besides the death and attacks at Hogwarts and Kings Cross previously. Sadly, the tournament ended in even more destruction and loss of life, and Benji is finally hoping to find a way to help.
