He winced, saying it was 'a tough one' to learn that she actually cared what people thought. Then his cheeks turned red as he said he just wanted to be sure that she wasn't asking him to dance. She chuckled, shaking her head. "I would actually ask if I wanted to ask. I don't dance around subjects, usually," she explained. He added that sometimes people had a hard time saying what they meant and she nodded, blowing out a huff of air through her lips. "Isn't that the truth? Sometimes I think words are just a bunch of sounds that make no sense," she said, shaking her head. "I prefer bluntness, if at all possible. I do like embellishments, though, in the right setting... you know what I mean?" she wasn't sure if that statement made much sense. She liked when people were straightforward, but didn't mind a little beauty in speech now and then. Albus Severus Potter

Albus shrugged when Addi said that she would have asked if she wanted to ask, and that she didn’t dance around subjects. “A lot of people aren’t the same way.” Including most of their house mates – Slytherins were notorious for their ability to be manipulative and cunning, and sometimes they translated that to mean being vague and not saying what they wanted to say. Albus knew sometimes that he was guilty of that; he wanted people to be able to understand him even when he never managed to say exactly what he was feeling. “I mean, words are sounds that make no sense. They have meaning because we give them meaning.” That was why they couldn’t magically understand every language in the world; words were arbitrary combinations of phonemes. Addi said that she liked embellishments in her words, and Al blinked at her. “I think I get it.” He said after a moment. “I wish that I was better at those embellishments, though.” He knew how to write, but not how to talk, and it seemed to Al like people only valued the ability to make bold, brilliant speeches.

He said a lot of people weren't the same way and she definitely knew that to be true. She just nodded, letting out a breath of air through her lips in an 'O' shape. He said that words were indeed sounds that made no sense, that they only had meaning because meaning was given to them. That made Addi smile, and shake her head a little bit. That was delving into a deeper topic, really, but a fun one. He said that he thought he understood, the embellishment part. She nodded at him saying he wished he was better at that. "Oh, me too. I am always awed when I see someone else speak like that or when they give words to me that way but... I'm not that great at returning them," she admitted. She turned to him, stopping in her steps again, "maybe we should practice," there was a twinkle of entertainment in her eye, "practice talking like... poetry. Or however it is those eloquent people talk," she explained. Albus Severus Potter

Addi agreed that she was better at speaking, and Al offered a tiny smile, glad that he wasn’t the only one that felt hopelessly out of his league when it came to speaking well. “I think that’s one of the reasons I’m not really great with emotions.” Albus said pensively. “I want to be able to describe them as beautifully as I’ve heard other people describe them, but that’s just… not possible.” Al knew that he had the vocabulary to be able to describe emotions well, since he was an avid reader and he could get out a decent description on paper, but stringing the words together in his head without the ability to cross out and draw arrows and generally manipulate them made him nervous. “Practice… now?” Albus asked curiously. It would be easier to practice with another self-admitted bad talker, but it seemed a bit like whiplash, with Addi having just been crying and everything. Al also worried that he wouldn’t have anything to say, let alone anything elegant. But if Addi wanted to try now, he wasn’t going to stop her.

Albus said that one of the reasons he wasn't great with emotions was because he wanted to describe them beautifully but that it wasn't possible, for him. He asked if she meant practice now and she shook her head, chuckling. "No, no, I have work to do but... we should do it. Maybe we can write letters since you're graduating. It'd be much easier to practice with written word first rather than in person, right? Then you can really think hard about what you want to say?" she actually thought it would be a fun idea, maybe even make them better friends, a friend that neither of them had. Either way, it was up to him, she stopped her walk and turned back toward the castle, then looked back to him. "Thanks for talking with me I'll... see you soon," she gave him a short nod before leaving him. Albus Severus Potter(the end! they should write poetry letters XD)
