hello there, my name is katherine kowalski but you can call me katie. i'm a/an Wampas/Slytherin and 17 so that makes me a 7th year at Hogwarts. You could say I'm cunning, ambitious and resourceful but I personally think that I am brilliant, jealous and talented. People say I look a lot like amelia zadro, but I don't really see it...

Katie like to think that she is a genius and that she will one day grace the world with her amazing discoveries and mathematics and creations in architecture. She isn't one for dilly dallying and filigree and fancy additions. She's very straightforward and believes that things should be done in an organized and timely manner.
She is incredibly jealous and doesn't make it a point to hide that fact. Her jealousy turns into anger, most often towards our twin brother Jacob. It's hard to being a twin to the Golden Boy, the one with the families powerful gifts and skilled in baking things, both talents their parents are immensely proud of him for. She doesn't like to see other people succeed even if it is in fields that she doesn't care about, because in her mind that means less attention will be on her successes.
She is hard working and fierce. She doesn't let things stand in her way and is incredibly focused on herself so much that she barely makes any friends. She's not excited about moving to a foreign country to attend a foreign school were people have been dying and things have been exploding.
She's blunt, to the point and harsh. She makes a lot of enemies and she doesn't mind. People only get in the way and numbers are way less complicated.

history:
Katie was born first, no surprise. Rumor has it she shoved her brother out of the way in order to do so, but that's neither here nor there. Long story short, she was meant to be the dominant of the twins. She has never let this go and calls herself 'the oldest of three' when talking about her siblings. At age two she was showing signs of magic, way before her brother even started to. However, when his magic did show... it came with a vengeance. legilimency , just like their grandmother Queenie.
Seven year old Katie was furious. He was a natural at something that incredible? No. Just no. She vowed to learn occlumency as soon as she could find someone to teach her. She would not be less than her brother and she would not let him read her mind.
Her love for mathematics came early on as she started asking her parents questions about how things worked when cooking. There were numbers by the measurements, and she quickly became engrossed in those instead of in the cooking itself. In fact, she grew to dislike baking and sweets, it didn't taste that good to her and it was just in the way of the numbers. She did, however, occasionally help her brother with the baking, simply by reading the measurements and handing him the right cup. She hates it when he changes a recipe to what he thinks would be better.
Katie and Jacob were accepted into Ilvermorny at age eleven and she could not have been more excited. Finally she would find someone to practice occlumency with. She had read about it a little, but it was all so advanced. They were both sorted into Wampus, and Katie was crestfallen at not being able to have some space from her bubbly, dorky brother. She would be around him all the time, still. Not that she didn't love him but... space would have been nice. They had the same middle name, for heavens sake, they didn't need the same house at school.
During her time at Ilvermorny Katie studied Arithmacy hard, as well as muggle mathematics when she could. In her second year she asked a professor about Occlumens, and he was happy to start showing her the ropes. By her fourth year she was fairly good at it in theory, but hadn't had much practice. By her sixth year, she was almost an expert. She will be practicing it even harder this summer before seventh year.
Even though her school exploded.
But first, a note about England during her sixth year. Of course she heard about what was going on there... who didn't? Kids being kidnapped, people getting killed, train stations blowing up. She was glad she wasn't there. Safe in America, that was the best place to be.
Then the Durmstrang and Beauxbatons ships were attacked and Katie had a bad feeling that no one was safe. They'd attack foreigners? Wasn't this just an issue for the English? No, her own school was attacked that summer. A beautiful building that she had grown to love every inch of.
She was furious.
Now, here she is. In England. About to go to some other school (though she was excited to see the castle), with people she didn't know, and murderers. Did people really believe England was safe?
As if.
