He said it was more fun to question her and her eyes continued to narrow at him. "Well, that... is fair," she kept glaring, "but only if I get to question you when you're about to do something stupid or not. That's what siblings are for, after all, am I right?" she asked, raising an eyebrow and letting up on the glare a little bit in order to do so. He asked if she was excited to explore the new castle and she rolled her eyes, "I already said I was excited about the castle, Jace! Comeonson," she giggled. Then, he caught her face going white and asked if she was okay, saying she looked like a ghost. "I'm fine," she said quickly, then paused, took a breath, and went on. "What if we don't ever get to go back to Ilvermorny? I mean... how long do you think we'll be in England, Jace? At Hogwarts, I mean," she was sure they'd spend some summers at home in America, right? Even if the school wasn't ready?

He didn't expect Indie to actually agree with his logic, since it would make it easier for him to question her then, but she did and he smirked. She mentioned how she'd be able to question him back and he shrugged, not concerned at all by the prospect. "You can question me all you want, but since I never do anything stupid, I'll just ignore the questions unless they're fun to answer." He couldn't help it. A part of him was hoping he'd be able to annoy her. That'd be fun. He laughed when she rolled her eyes and acted a little more excited. Good. His job as an older brother was to make sure she was happy. Even if it was only around him. She said she was fine and his eyes narrowed, but he waited for an explanation. When it came, he sighed. "I don't know, Indie. I mean, I hope they fix the school, but there's no guarantee how long that'll take. I'm sure we can go back home for breaks though, if we want." He reached over and touched her shoulder. "Don't be upset about it though. It's a new adventure and if we go back home, that'll be an adventure too. We just need to enjoy ourselves." He smiled, hoping to help cheer her up a bit.

He said she could question him all she wanted, but that he didn't do anything stupid and that he'd ignore her questions unless they were fun. "Hah! You, never do anything stupid? My dear brother, what a lie your life has been," she chuckled. "And all my questions are fun, don't you doubt it. Like this, if you had to die your hair an unnatural color for a year, what color would you choose?" she asked, wiggling her eyebrows at him.
Talking about home, he said there was no guarantee how long it would take and how they could go back home for breaks. She sighed, nodding, as he touched her shoulder. He said it was a new adventure and so would home be... basically everything was an adventure with Jace. "Yeah... I know. You're right," she smiled a little sadly at him. Then her eyes lit up. "Here's the park!" she said, skipping inside.

She was obviously amused by his teasing, which was exactly what Jace wanted. He laughed again, "It's not a lie, it's a point of view, Sis. You might want to try it sometime." She continued, saying that all her questions were fun, proceeding to ask him one and he grinned. "Perfect. I would go blue." His eyes narrowed as he thought. "Not a light blue, but not super dark either ... I don't really know shade names though. Wanna help me out?" She was a girl. That meant she should know stuff like that, right? Not that he'd ever tell her that's why he was asking that. Indie might hit him for that kind of logic.
She didn't seemed soothed by his words, which was disappointing. Jace didn't like it when Indie was sad, or really when any of the people he cared about were. He tried again, "I'm sure they'll try to fix it as soon as they can." That was true enough. "We Americans are too proud to go to a British school forever, you know," he tried to make her smile. Then she saw the park and her eyes sparkled again. Jace's smile widened. "Well, now that we're here, what are we going to do?" He looked at her curiously. Honestly, he would do whatever Indie wanted. He wanted her to smile right now.

He said it wasn't a lie, just a point of view and she cocked her head to the side. "That...is a very clever way to live your life. I'm impressed," she admitted. Then he said he would go blue and she nodded, "that's what I expected... maybe like a ... royal blue? It's vibrant but not like annoying or pastel or neon, you know? I think it would suit you, actually." She closed one eye, tilting her head to the side again to picture it on his head.
He said that they would try to fix the school as soon as they could, and that Americans were too proud. That, indeed, did make her smile break back and she laughed. "Well, that's true. The tea was dumped in the harbor for a reason," she reminded. Then they were in the park and he asked what they were going to do, "we're trying to find the Peter Pan statue! He's got a flute and it's on a pedestal, like the one in Hook," she explained.

Jace laughed when Indie confessed that she was impressed. "Don't I always impress you, Sis?" he teased, unable to help himself. He was serious about the point of view thing though. It made life easier for Jace, rather than getting down on himself for the things he didn't do right or for things that turned out differently than he wanted. He grinned when she said a shade. He knew he could get her to say the exact color he wanted. "Yes, exactly!" He smirked when it registered that she thought the color would fit him. "Of course it would," Jace tapped his chin for a moment, "Maybe I should try it during the next break." Their parents would flip, which would make it all the better.
He nodded when she mentioned American's dumping the tea, glad that Indie understood what he was trying to say. That was one of the things he loved about doing things with her, she understood him very well. When she explained what they were doing, he slapped a hand over his face, "Oh yeah! How could I have forgotten that?" He started looking around curiously. "I'm not seeing anything over here though. Maybe it's in that direction?" Jace pointed to the left and shrugged, looking to Indie. She was leading them, after all.

He asked if he always impressed her and she just shoved him with both hands, laughing. Then he said that the blue hair would indeed fit him, thinking of trying it during the break. "Wait til Christmas break. Let people at Hogwarts get attached to your normal hair color and them BAM, throw them that curveball," she giggled. It was a funny idea! 'I'll change my hair too, and then we can have it for a week when school is back for first term and then change it all back to normal," she loved her hair color. it was unique and long and she just kept letting it grow longer. Elves had long hair, and so would she.
He slapped his own face as he forgot the statue and she laughed. Then they both were searching and he suggested another direction. "There is probably a sign somewhere... but yes, let's go that way. It looks a little more popular and I'm sure it's a popular statue," she said with a nod, leading the way in the direction he said. After a moment she did indeed see a map on a sign. "Look! There! We're here and..." she traced her finger, "It's back the other way!" she laughed.

Indie didn't answer him, but honestly Jace didn't really expect her to. He was teasing and she was fully aware of that fact. He couldn't help it when he was interacting with his half-sister. His jaw dropped and he pretended to be indignant when she told him to wait until Christmas break. "Me? Wait months to do something that I could very well do right now?! Do you know me at all, Sis?" Then he chuckled, "Though I do like the idea of letting people get attached to my normal hair first ... I guess I'll consider your idea." It was actually a good one and Jace was really considering going through with the entire thing. It would be fun to change his hair in the middle of the year, even if it was just for a week or so.
He grinned when Indie followed him, saying that he was probably right. It only took a minute or so for her to point out that he was wrong. Jace rolled his eyes. "Of course I'm wrong. I should've let you lead us," he smirked at her. "Go ahead, I'll let you take care of the directions here on in." He really didn't care who was leading whom, but thought she might like to lead for a bit, especially since she was the one looking at the map. Sure, he glanced for a second when she told him to look, but Jace wasn't really one for using a map. He preferred to just figure things out the hard way.

He asked if she knew him at all because she suggested that he wait and she laughed. He said he liked the idea of people getting attached, though, and said he would consider it. "Good. I think it would be good for a laugh," she said those last three words in a British accent, then laughed even louder.
He said he should have let her lead and she laughed, shaking her head and then linking her arm through his, "trusting me is a smart choice, Jace, Remember it," she pulled him along until, finally, the found the statue. She stared up at it, jaw dropped. "Wow... it's just like in 'Hook'," she said, squeezing his arm. It was beautiful, England was beautiful, she felt they would have a good life here.
