Lucy Weasley was unlike any other Weasley. At least - as far as she knew. As far as she knew no one else in her family of blood traitors agreed with her politics or ideals regarding the fact that they were once one of the great pureblood families of the Wizarding world. Now they were full of tainted blood. At least her dad was a smart and married another pureblood. Eventually she’d be able to ditch the name, or, she’d do what she could to put the Weasley name back on top. The power hungry Brunette knew the purifiers were who she needed to get there. Even if her last name made her unpopular or possible even suspicious at first within the group, at least there was one Weasley with some sense.
Lucy made her way to the base late that night. Why, she wasn’t entirely sure. She had just got off of a date with a very depressing muggle man whom she had a hard time not charming to fall asleep or something so she could leave sooner. Lucy didn’t hate muggles, however, she didn’t on any level believe they were equal or worthy of equality. She was forced to be around them often for work, but at least they paid her hundreds of pounds for her time and attention. Lucy rarely did anything for free. The girl got to the base, her first time being there since graduation. She was an adult now and hopefully, that would mean she was moving up in the ranks.

Elaine had had plenty of followers graduated from Hogwarts this year, moving into the real world to start their careers. It was understandable that things would be quiet for the first few weeks after graduation, especially since it had been moved up rather abruptly. Of course, that was the other reason why Elaine had remained silent for a while after the explosions. Mercifully, her plot to place the blame on the shoulders on the foreign terrorists had gone better than expected, with them gleefully taking the blame. Normally, Elaine would want the world to know her part in this, but of course this was just Phase One. She didn’t want anything to be messed up for the following phases, so she stayed silent and out of sight. Let the Ministry believe their worries lay in international terrorists.
Elaine was at the base late that night, sipping a glass of Merlot and lounging on a red velvet chaise lounge. She was a little bored, but her senses tensed up as she heard someone enter the base. The only people who knew how to get in were fellow Purifiers, but Elaine did not fully trust every single one of her followers. A few in particular….but she relaxed when she saw it was Lucy. “Ah, Miss Weasley, back so soon? I thought you had a date tonight?” she asked, one eyebrow arched inquisitively. Most people only knew Lucy as a start up actress, but Elaine of course knew of her….side business. If not from Lucy, then from her other sources.

The base was pretty empty, which was to be expected, but Lucy had been expecting maybe a few more people hanging out around there. She supposed people didn’t really have a reason to, besides being a place where Lucy didn’t have to worry about her cover being blown, there wasn’t much to do here. Elaine was there, as she had also been expecting, which was good since she had stopped in to see her in the first place. Elaine greeted her with a glass of wine in her hand and a sarcastic comment about Lucy’s job. Lucy hadn’t been expecting Elaine not to know what she did, she didn’t try to keep anything from the woman. She didn’t feel a need or desire to keep things from her. Lucy wanted Elaine to know Lucy was loyal, at first, she had been worried that people would think she was a spy from the order because she was a Weasley, but she had worked hard to earn her keep and gain their trust since she joined. “I am a popular woman, aren’t I?” Lucy said with a mixture of a laugh and a sigh while she tucked a bit of red hair behind her ear. “I meant to come by earlier.” she admitted, simultaneously feeling bad about it and not at all. “Just to check in. Obviously I have a bit more time on my hands now.” and less people watching her at all times, less people looking over her shoulder and less people worrying about what she was doing now that she was living alone.

Elaine laughed along with Lucy as she admitted she was a popular woman. "Indeed, as am I. Though I daresay my popularity is....quite a bit different than yours," she said, grinning devilishly. Her popularity was the type that came with being a declared terrorist by the British Ministry. Truth be told, of course she should be declared a terrorist by multiple countries, but they hadn't come close to figuring out that bit yet. It was fun for her to read the papers and watch the foreign ministers point fingers at everyone but her. It was laughable really, it had her explosives person written all over it and yet they didn't think to blame her. The other terrorist groups were happy to take the blame; she had an...understanding with the leaders of most of the organizations by now, and they loved the chaos that followed each booming explosion as much as she did. She wasn't the type to just sit around and stay hidden after all; that was what her disguises were for.
Which was why she was glad it was Lucy Weasley who was in the base tonight. "You come on a good night, I have a mission for you as it turns out," she told her, gesturing for the girl to take the seat opposite. "I need a new disguise, this time male. A cursebreaker, specifically one in particular, fits that bill." Elaine reached into her briefcase and pulled out a slim file with the mans photo and details and handed it to Lucy. "I trust you'd be able to...charm him into coming to one of my houses?" she asked, a smirk creeping up onto her lips. She didn't need to elaborate any further.

“I would imagine quite a bit.” Lucy nodded when Elaine explained that her popularity was quite a bit different than Lucy’s. Of course it was. Lucy Weasley wasn’t nearly as well known as Elaine, and even while the Weasley name was a common name in the greater wizarding communities, Lucy barely associated herself with the Weasley name anyway. Once on of the great pureblood families and now falling down to the bottom of the food chain. It was sad, really, and a great driving factor in Lucy’s desire to work with Elaine and her purifiers.
It turned out that Lucy’s meeting wasn’t quite as pointless as she had originally thought. Lucy didn’t have a lot planned for the evening, she just felt the need to stop in and see how things were going or if there was anything new on the horizon. She had a few questions, of course, she always did, but Lucy wasn’t one for just blurting out her questions. If they came up, then she’d ask them, but if they didn’t come up, then she probably didn’t really need to know anyway. “Yeah. Consider it done.” Lucy nodded, looking over the photo. It seemed easy enough. Of course, she’d need a little planning to go into it before it could actually be done, but it at least seemed doable. She’d have to figure out where to find the man, where he spent his time and what it would take to get to him, but none of that would be difficult, especially once alcohol came into the mix. “What’s the reason for the new disguise?” Lucy asked, just out of curiously and because she liked to be in the know when she was allowed to be.

Elaine chuckled mirthlessly at Lucy’s comment. “Indeed, and with any luck soon both of our names will be restored to the glory they deserve,” she said, patting the other girls hand lightly. She knew that Lucy wanted to restore the Weasley family name to a proper Pureblood standing; Elaine was only more than happy to help. The more prominent and revered the pureblood lines were, the better for her reign.
Lucy nodded at her task given, and asked for the reason for the new disguise. Elaine smiled; Lucy was an intelligent one, but she could not know the entire extent of why this particular man was her next target. “You know, I’ve always wanted to test the theory that a man is more revered in his workplace than a woman,” she said airily, then chuckled at the thought. Gender stereotypes would be the first to go; in Elaine’s new world, Pureblooded women would have the power. “Besides, I have a Ministry worker, a Healer and a barmaid in Hogs Head; Cursebreakers are a viable asset to my cause, therefore I need to...persuade one of the more senior Cursebreakers to join us,” she said. “You can use any means necessary to get him to the house; his wife died two years ago in childbirth, and the baby with her. He’s all alone, and in need of some...company, shall we call it?” she added, twirling a lock of dark hair aimlessly between her fingers. Elaine had done all the necessary research on this man’s weak points, and someone like Lucy Weasley would certainly fill some long empty boxes.

Elaine reached out to pat Lucy’s hand as she insisted that hopefully soon their names would be returned to the glory that they deserved. If Lucy had been drinking something, she would have raised her glass to the statement. Elaine’s optimism was always slightly shocking while also ensuring. Lucy had never thought about backing out since she joined the purifiers, almost a year ago. Every part of her knew that this was the right side. This was the leader she needed and these were the ideals about the world that she wanted to fight for. “Here here.” the red head gave a delicate nod in agreement.
Lucy hadn’t been expecting a full answer to her question, she knew that Elaine had her reasons for everything that she asked for and that those reasons didn’t exactly need to be known about or shared with everyone. And Lucy was fairly okay with all of that. She didn’t always need to know, sometimes she felt like the less she knew the better she could do with the job. And sometimes details were just bulky and unnecessary. She didn’t need to know what Elaine wanted to do with the man once she got him to the safe house. That part probably didn’t involve her much. But Lucy was a nosy person, she couldn’t help it. Knowledge is power. Power was something that the Weasley girl craved. “No wife - no kids? Easy target.” Lucy agreed, closing the file after taking a peek at the photo within. The man wasn’t exactly her type, but that didn’t necessarily matter. She didn’t actually have to sleep with him. Not that she was opposed to sleeping her way to the top. She was confident enough in her sexuality to be comfortable using it to her advantage, something, she was sure, Elaine knew well. “I can have this within the next few days?” she offered. “Need it sooner?”

Elaine knew Lucy would accept the job, of course she would. Lucy was an actress and a part time escort; she had a wonderful way with both men and women. It just so happened that this time, her job would come in hand for Elaines’ needs. Now that Diana Bainbridge was out of school, Elaine needed someone at Gringotts who would be able to keep an eye on the girls’ every movement, to ensure that their soulbinding was still in place. She knew Diana and Zytka had done far more research into soul magic than she had, and one thing she was unclear of is if she would feel it if the binding had come undone. She wasn’t about to take any chances - Diana was from a large family, and was a Metamorphmagi to boot. She didn’t want to lose someone she had full control over either - who would?
Elaine had taken her time with the research into the different Cursebreakers at Gringotts when Diana had told her (against her will) that it was the career path she wanted to follow. She had narrowed it down between two people; Aloysius Smith & Karen Dunstan and had almost decided on Karen when she heard that Aloysius had been named Diana’s mentor. A perfect opportunity she couldn’t miss, and Lucy was the perfect candidate to send on this mission. "The next few days is an acceptable timeline," she confirmed with a short nod.
She stood up and stretched upwards like a cat, before walking over to a closed cabinet. With a lazy wave of her hand the lock popped open and she removed a bottle of red wine from within and closed the door. Two empty silver goblets appeared and she poured wine into both of them. “A toast, to your first mission as an adult, and to your success with it,” she declared, raising a wine glass towards the red haired woman.

Lucy Weasley had many reasons to doing anything that she did; at least, she liked to think so. But one of her main reasons for wanting to take on these jobs and a larger role in the purifiers, besides her obvious political opinions and desire for power, Lucy loved a challenge. This job, getting the man to the house in order for Elaine to use him as another one of her disguises, wasn’t a hard job. Lucy wouldn’t exactly consider this as much of a challenge as she would like, but it was a start, and like Elaine pointed out as she summoned two glasses and poured the wine into both of them, this was her first job as an adult, Lucy had to take what she could get, at least for now. She was ready, though, to prove her worth and dedication to the movement. Lucy accepted her glass and raised her glass also when Elaine did. “The first of many.” Lucy added with a smirk before taking a small sip of the liquid, not really intending to drink much more.

Elaine just smiled her mysterious, unreadable smile as Lucy chimed in the first of many assignments. She had to give the girl credit for her confidence; Lucy wouldn't be able to do her job, both professionally and within the Purifiers if she wasn't. "Let's see how you do with this one; remember, your cousin Ondina was able to successfully Love Potion that....woman's brother Grey for several months quite well," she said with the tiniest of nods of her head. She took another sip, then set it down. She had not been able to meet with her student aged followers more than once over the school year; with the Triwizard Tournament and the plans she had for the aftermath had kept her very busy. The security at the school had been tightened as well, so with that combination the year flew by quicker than Elaine could have imagined. A fair few of her loyal followers, including Lucy and her cousin Ondina, had now graduated, going into the real world where they could become more useful to her. "Tell me Lucy, where do you see your place here within the organization?" she asked her point blank, one of her legs sliding up and folding underneath her. Gaging where Lucy saw herself most useful would be helpful for Elaine when she needed certain things done - that way she'd be sure she was putting the best person forward for it to be completed.

Elaine suggested they see how well Lucy did with her first assignment before she thought about more, Lucy gave a very slight nod of her head and twitched the corner of her lip into an understand smile. That, Lucy could handle, and understand very well. The mention of Ondina, however, wasn’t something that Lucy cared for. The cousins had never got along. Truth be told, Lucy got along tons better with some of her more liberal, muggle-loving cousins than the one with similar views to herself. She wasn’t entirely sure what it was about Ondina that made Lucy’s skin crawl to think about, but the feeling was there, and Lucy was pretty sure that it was mutual. But, with respect to the leader, Elaine, who she was in the presence of, Lucy wasn’t going to create any unnecessary drama, “Yes, she did a lovely job.” Lucy gave another slight nod and took another sip of her drink, this time, to take the edge off. Lucy had to give it to her cousin, she did the job and kept it up for a good amount of time. Did Lucy think that she could have done it better? Absolutely. But that was a rant best saved for another time.
Elaine asked a question that the redhead girl knew was coming eventually. She wasn’t the biggest fan of those type of cookie cutter, basic questions, but she understood their worth. People’s minds and intentions changed so often that Lucy never saw the point in asking question when the answer could change with the changing of the wind. “Wherever I can be useful.” Lucy answered, smartly. She knew the best way to get in, at least while she was still in the process of getting in, was to do as she was told and save her attitude for another time when she was less likely to get backlash. “Obviously, I have certain skills that others don’t.” she added. She knew she was attractive, she knew she was charismatic, and she knew that she had talent in alluring people, whether sexually or otherwise. Lucy was an actress for a reason. “And i’m not afraid to put them to use.” she concluded that statement. “That, along with the fact that I’ve got close connections to a large amount of our opposition, and that I also consider myself skilled in most magical practices, should render me quite useful, if I’m being honest.” and being honest, didn’t mean being humble, Lucy had let a little more of her overwhelming confidence out. The ideal end goal was power, like it was for most, Lucy assumed. Lucy knew that she was one of the best and she felt like she deserved a place in the top ranking members of the group, she just had a prove it.

Elaine knew she had hit a sour note with Lucy when she mentioned Ondina; it was after all why she had mentioned the blonde Weasley cousin in the first place. Lucy and Ondina may have been related, but they were night and day when it came to their service to the Purifiers. Lucy she knew had the wile and coy flirtatiousness that could easily get her patrons to eat out of the palm of her hand. With that, she could extract information Elaine needed, or in this particular case, make a new brainwashed slave out of Lucy’s talents. Ondina was a different breed entirely; she was much more cunning, ruthless when it came to serving out Elaine’s wishes. The love potioning of Grey Slater had been childs play when it came to Ondina, and now that she was out of school, Elaine was looking forward to putting these talents to better use, both her and Lucy. The restricting of them being students had been rather irritating, to say the least, but she understood that, unlike her, they needed to graduate to maintain the air of not being involved with Elaine.
She sat back, listening intently as Lucy explained how she could be useful to Elaine now that she was out of school. Again, Lucy would be able to take the next step once she brought her Aloysius, Diana’s mentor in the Cursebreaking program. She already had crafted a clever excuse for his absence that would cover up to two weeks time; one could never tell how long it would take the man to break under the influence of the mandrake. “Your twin sister has been regarded as a hero of sorts, fighting for the side of the good. How are you planning on handling this, should things...come to a head.” Elaine didn’t need to elaborate on what she meant. Anna Weasley was little miss perfect; Hogwarts and Triwizard Champion and now Auror in training. Engaged to marry that Beauxbatons boy, who had failed to do his duty and die in the carriage explosion. She would be a problem, and she wondered what Lucy would do with that knowledge.

Elaine brought up Anna and asked Lucy what she would do if they ever came head to head. Lucy had thought a lot about this. Of course she knew that Anna had made a name for herself and was going to continue to grown in her own ranks. She lived with the girl now and had for most of her life. Anna would move out once she got married and then Lucy would have a lot more privacy around her own flat. Lucy knew that there was no convincing her sister out of what she was doing, at least, not without giving away what Lucy was doing herself. “Anna has made her decision. And I’ve made mine. And I am fully aware what that could mean for the future.” she said, a little coldly. It wasn’t an entirely pleasant thought, but it was one that she was fully behind. Lucy loved her sister, Anna was one of the most important people in the world to her, and of course, she’d rather the two of them just coast along, but she knew, realistically, life wouldn’t continue that smoothly.

Elaine nodded once, satisfied with the answer Lucy gave her. If if was a war the Wizarding World wanted, then it was a war she’d gladly deliver. Still, there were some in her ranks that had family on opposing sides, and she had to ensure that they were loyal until the end. They would be rewarded for their loyalty of course, better than anyone on the Ministry side could dare dream giving them. “Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that,” was all Elaine said. Being an only child, Elaine did not understand the bond of sisterhood, not fully. Desiree was the only one who had ever come close to being a sister to her; the pain of losing Des still was seared in Elaine’s mind. Hopefully, Lucy could sway Anna to join their side before it was too late. “I look forward to hearing your updates,” Elaine told the girl, acting as a dismissal. Lucy had work to do after all, especially if she had the ambition level Elaine believed she did. She took another sip of wine as the girl left, relishing the silence that remained in the room for a few minutes before leaving.
END THREAD!
