Dom wasn't really trying to embarrass Finn, but she was curious to see how he would respond to her teasing. Everyone answered her so differently, she couldn't help but be a bit curious. She laughed as he explained. Not a small chuckle, but a real, loud laugh. Grinning, she shook her head as her laughter died down. "Definitely a crime," she agreed, feeling good. She couldn't remember the last time she'd laughed like that. "All right, I guess I can let you call me a friend then," she teased after a moment. "Which means we're definitely going to have to play Quidditch sometime, since friends do things every once-in-a-while." Dom liked the idea of that, of doing something with this guy again. He was fun and she needed someone like that, someone she could mess around with when she was in the mood. Someone who wasn't really looking for any commitments from her.
She lifted a curious eyebrow when Finn hesitated at her question. Dom really wanted to smile, seeing how uncomfortable he looked, but she held it back. Better to see what he had to say before she decided to tease him again. She wondered off-handedly if he'd get tired of her teasing, if she was going too overboard. Eh, worrying about things like that wasn't Dom. If he didn't like it, he wouldn't want to do something again, which would be fine. She chuckled when he slowly said they might be recruiting a player or two. "Don't worry, I'm not going to demand a try-out or anything," she inserted. She didn't want him to feel worried she was trying to take advantage of his connections or anything. He asked if she'd be interested in meeting the coach and Dom bit the inside of her cheek. Was she interested? Quidditch still made her think of ... but meeting a coach wasn't playing. She wasn't making any commitments by meeting with anyone. She gave an easygoing smile, "That would be interesting. I mean, you don't have to ... but I wouldn't say no to meeting the captain of my favorite Quidditch Team." She stretched her arms high above her head, rolling her shoulders as she brought her arms back down.
Looking back at Finn, Dom smirked softly. "So ... do you want to do anything else? Skate some more or talk or are you getting tired of me yet?" Dom wasn't serious, which she assumed was obvious when she laughed after speaking. Finn obviously was having a good time. Still, she was curious to see what he would want to do now.

Finn laughed as she somewhat reluctantly agreed to a meeting with the Arrows’ coach. He could sense her hesitation and part of him wondered why. If she was as talented as she claimed to be, wouldn’t she have joined a team out of Hogwarts? Something in her tone of voice stopped him from prying too much however; some secrets aren’t meant to be told right away, especially on a first date. “Well I’m sure he’d be delighted to meet you - a member of a pretty darn amazing family of Wizards,” he added with a grin. The Weasley’s of course, were very well known and famous (though not on the same level as Harry Potter), and the name was synonymous with Dom’s red hair. Finn had not exactly paid too much attention in History of Magic, but he was pretty sure all of the Weasley siblings born to Ron Weasley’s parents had participated in the famed Battle of Hogwarts. Finn grinned wickedly, an idea forming in his head. “You know, the Arrows stadium is cleared out by now; our practice was earlier this afternoon. You could….show off your moves.” He raised an eyebrow at her. Without speaking, he motioned for the waiter to clear their plates, and he stood up. With a slight bow, he extended his hand to Dominique. “Unless you’re all talk?” he questioned, his eyes glinting mischievously. He was hoping he wasn’t grossly miscalculating, but he got the sense that posing a challenge to this woman was something she just wouldn’t say no to. Or at least, he hoped she wouldn’t say no to. @dominique

Dom laughed when Finn said that he thought his captain would be delighted to meet her. "Everyone's delighted to meet me, don't you know?" she teased, unable to help herself. What, he practically asked for it! Besides, now that she was thinking about it, she kind of liked the idea of meeting Finn's captain. If she ever did change her mind and decide she wanted to go into Quidditch professionally, knowing a captain could be a pretty good in. Also, being friends with a few players wouldn't hurt her either. She shrugged her shoulders a little, "I guess you have my permission to set something up if you want." Yeah, that was the closest to a yes he was going to get from her, but it should be good enough.
His smile changed then and Dom watching him, entirely intrigued by whatever made his attitude change. She leaned forward as he started speaking again, saying that the stadium should be empty now. Dom's smile now matched his as she stood when he did. "Sounds like it could be fun," she started, pausing when he asked another question. Her eyes narrowed, but the smile wasn't even close to leaving her face. "Oh, sounds like someone thinks I can't deliver," she murmured. "You're on, Professional Quidditch player." Dom took his hand immediately, starting to move through the crowd with him, every inch of her tingling with excitement. This was going to be so much fun. "Lead the way," she encouraged under her breath, squeezing his hand just a little.

Finn laughed. “Of course, why wouldn’t they be delighted to meet you, you ARE a delight,” he confirmed. He was elated when she agreed to his idea, not even bothering to suppress the smile from his face. Having spent several hours with Dominique Weasley, he had been pretty sure she was one to never back down to a challenge, and that she definitely wasn’t all talk. Still, Finn knew how to talk a big game and back up his claims, and he was absolutely willing to do so with her. With a wink and a grin, Finn led her to a secluded area and turned on the spot. With a faint pop, they immediately appeared in front of the Appleby’s stadium, the pale blue and white banners rippling gently in the evening breeze. It never got old, looking up at the massive stands decked out in his teams’ colors. He remembered very clearly the day he got his offer from the Arrows, walking into the stadium and looking around, getting a strong feeling that he was finally home. “Home sweet home,” he joked, letting go of Dom’s hand rather reluctantly. He typed in the security code and the doors to the stadium slid open. “Ladies first,” he said, bowing so she could enter the stadium first. He quickly disappeared into the locker rooms and returned with two Firebolts. The brooms were their reserve brooms should anything happen to the players brooms, and handed one to Dominique. “So, you were a beater like me eh? Prove you can hit back anything I slam in your direction,” he challenged, nudging the box by his feet that contained the wily Bludgers and Beater bats they were both so familiar with. “First person to let a Bludger get by them has to buy the other a dessert of their choice. Deal?” he asked, extending his hand so they could shake on it. @dominique

Dom laughed and nodded when Finn told her she was a delight, shrugging in a way that said, "Oh I know," without actually having to say it out loud. She didn't need to and that fact made her even happier than what he said. She loved it when people complimented her!
He started leading her away and Dom followed, curious to see how he would transport them. He might simply apparate, or maybe he had a different way he was planning on taking her. When he took her into a private area, she knew they were apparating. Arriving at the Appleby stadium, Dom looked around with interest. She'd come here before, but never with a Quidditch player, or the intention of playing herself. This was definitely going to be fun. She chuckled when he called it home and followed him to the door, leading the way in when he held it for her. "Thank you kind sir," she teased softly. Once inside, she stopped and looked around again, curious to see what his plan was now. To her surprise, he just walked away. Dom considered following him, but instead decided to look in the trophy case at different awards the Appleby Arrows won. He'd come back. When he came back, Dom pretended not to notice until he spoke, turning to look at him. She nodded when he asked if she was a beater, then her eyes narrowed in challenge. "You're on, and you're going to prove you can hit back whatever I send your way," she retorted easily. "Get ready to buy me dessert," she teased, though at the same time she wasn't really teasing. Dom was a very competitive person and had no intention of losing to Finn. Besides, if she could win, she had a feeling he'd be more impressed than upset. That would definitely be more fun.

Excellent, Finn thought to himself, grinning as Dominique turned to look at him from the Arrows trophy case. “You see that one there? That’s mine from when I won Rookie of the Year,” he told her proudly, pointing to the silver trophy that had his full name, Malakai Finn Jones etched into it. He could remember the day clearly; it was after the league finals, and the Arrows had been eliminated in the semi finals. Finn had beaten himself up over it, thinking he could have done better to keep the opposing teams Seeker from catching the snitch. At least it hadn’t been against the Wimbourne Wasps, and at least the team that had eliminated them had gone on to win it all, so it seemed a little less embarrassing for the Arrows. What he was not expecting at the British League banquet a week later, was his name to be called out for Rookie of the Year. He recalled walking shakily up to the stage, his face completely shocked. He had started with a crop of brilliant talent, and yet he had been chosen for this honor. He smiled; ah, that was a day he’d never forget. Seeing the look on Dominique’s face, Finn knew this girl was no pushover. She’d be a tough cookie to crack, but he wasn’t planning on going easy on her, even if he did think she was pretty, and wanted to buy her dessert either way. So he led her back onto the field and they kicked off, each on one side of the field. “No crossing the middle line here,” Finn called to her, pointing down towards the line that divided the pitch in half. Pulling out his wand, he pointed it down at the open ball box, where the Bludger was struggling to free itself. “Alohomora!” he cried, and the lock sprung, freeing the Bludger and it zoomed away, pelting towards Finn first. “Let the game begin!” he yelled, slamming the ball towards Dom with a satisfactory whack. @dominique

"You won Rookie of the Year?" Dom said, pretending to be shocked for a second before chuckling. "I know all about that. You are on my favorite team, you know. I was super impressed when I read about your award. Now I get to see it in person." She winked, teasing him, though she still was proud of him. She loved that he was bragging to her about his achievements. "Are you sure you want to play with someone like me? I don't have any awards," Dom commented, fighting to keep her expression from bursting into a wide smile. She was having way too much fun teasing him.
She followed him onto the pitch, kicking off and following her date as he showed her which line she shouldn't cross. Dom nodded, smiling. This was going to be fun! He released a Bludger and it zoomed toward him, and Dom watched as he smacked it in her direction. Wow, he had good aim. She moved her broom slightly, squaring her shoulders and hitting the Bludger, twisting it as she hit it right back at him. She couldn't help the smirk from covering her face, but Dom didn't say anything. Not yet.

Finn was surprised for a moment that Dominique didn’t know he had one; not because he was arrogant enough to believe she had heard of him before their date, but because she had mentioned the Arrows were her team she followed for years. If she was following them like any real fan did, she would have known about his award. He smiled, relaxing as she admitted she was teasing him. “Made me nervous you were a bandwagon fan,” he teased back. “You may not have awards, but you made the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. That's’ reward enough,” he reasoned. Not helping himself, Finn performed a barrel roll before hitting the Bludger right back at Dominique. Too easy, he thought with a grin. Her form on the broom was perfect, and she looked wonderfully at home as she swung the bat. Merlin why was she so perfect? Not wanting to get distracted, Finn watched the Bludger carefully as it zigzagged its away towards the ginger haired girl. “Is that a smirk I see over there? One shot and you’re already getting cocky?” he called, grinning despite the taunt. She clearly knew what she was doing, but he hoped she wasn't trying to go easy at first. He liked when a girl could show off her Quidditch skills despite his profession. @dominique

Dom rolled her eyes, "Please, I am not that kind of a person. I've always been an Arrows fan and that's not going to change." Dom laughed as she considered that, "Unless I go into Quidditch and you guys don't have space for me ... then I might have to switch to liking whatever team I join." Honestly, she wasn't seriously thinking about joining Quidditch professionally, but it would be interesting to see how he responded to that. She smiled, nodding when he said that being on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team was a reward in and of itself. It had been. Quidditch had been one of her highlights at Hogwarts. "I have to agree with you there," she admitted with an easygoing shrug. At least Finn seemed to understand her a bit.
Dom laughed when she realized he was showing off. She wasn't sure if he was doing so to try and impress her, or if he was just having fun with it but she liked that fact all the same. "Not cocky," she called back to him. "I've missed this." Dom didn't normal tell people things so close to home with her, but seeing as how Finn loved Quidditch too maybe he'd understand. She backed away from the bludger as it approached, letting her broom drop a few feet, spinning and then, once the ball caught up to her, she whacked it backhanded so it shot back at Finn. It wouldn't be hard for him to hit back, but maybe it showed off more of her skill-set.

Finn nodded, showing that he believed what Dominique was saying - for now at least. “Alright Ravenclaw hot shot,” he said with a sly grin. Being a professional Quidditch player had its perks of course - the paycheck was definitely one of the higher ones, but he did miss the unprofessionalism of the house teams when he had played for Gryffindor all those years ago. Of course, their captains up until him had tried to be as no nonsense as possible, but when Finn miraculously got the badge, he’d tried a lighter approach. It had seemed to work quite well, but he could understand why it wouldn’t translate over well to a professional setting. Finn watched Dominique show off a little bit - he knew it was showing off because she clearly had the skill to not need the flowery moveset she had just performed - and grinned. “If the Arrows don’t take you if you offer yourself to them, they’d be absolutely mad,” he called out, flipping his Beater bat in the air before catching it and sending the Bludger zigzagging back towards Dominique. Every time she hit the ball, Finn could noticeably see a difference in her demeanor. She looked comfortable, at home here in the skies on a broomstick. He wanted to continue to pry, to ask her why she doesn’t just try out already. But he was no fool - he knew there was something more to the story as to why she hadn’t gone the same route as him after graduation. “Perhaps one day I’ll get the privilege of knowing why you aren’t already fighting Bludgers side by side with me Weasley,” he called out after another crafty hit by Dominique. He managed to send the Bludger back her way but he had almost missed it. Not that he would ever admit that out loud or anything. “Getting tired yet?” he called, the challenge evident in his voice. He could do this for hours; he HAD done this for hours before. But the night was starting to settle over the pitch, and he did want to treat Dominique to dessert before the best shops closed for the night. @dominique

Dom smirked when Finn called her a hot shot. Good. Even if he was teasing, she liked those kinds of compliments. She was fairly certain that he was underestimating her abilities- most people did- but that was fair. She hadn’t gone into Quidditch right out of school, which would lead most people to believe that she simply didn’t have the abilities to do it. That wasn’t quite true. Dom felt certain that if she did want to play Quidditch, she wouldn’t have trouble getting on a team.
He called that the Arrows would be mad to not take her on the team if she went out for it and Dom laughed. “Told you so,” she answered back, obviously not entirely serious, but they both knew it was true. Dom was good at Quidditch. She loved it and had a knack for hitting bludgers just right. Once, her Uncle George told her that she reminded him of him and her deceased Uncle Fred, and they’d been practically legendary with how in sync they were with one another. She grinned when he tossed his bat in the air before hitting it to her again. She started to play the old way, not even really paying attention to how she hit the ball, just letting herself play the way she wanted to. Backhand, spinning, tossing the bat, whatever. Dom wasn’t paying attention to what she was doing anymore, so long as she actually hit the ball, which she did. She was starting to feel like she didn’t need to prove herself anymore. Finn could see her skills. He even told her that outright.
When he mentioned maybe knowing why she wasn’t already playing, Dom’s smile became just a tad bit forced, but he should be too far away to notice that. She laughed again, “Perhaps. That’s not really a first-date type of conversation thought,” she answered, whacking the Bludger more head on this time, trying to keep her head here instead of drifting towards … nope, she wasn’t thinking about Ethan right now. She wouldn’t. “You wish,” Dom called back, “Though if you are, I can give you a break. We could always pick this up some other time.” Dom was never the type to back down from a challenge. That was one thing Finn would learn about her if he did spend more time with her, which she sort of hoped he would.

Malakai raised his bat in acknowledgment that Dominique wasn’t ready to have that kind of conversation. He respected that; whatever happened to her was obviously very private, but he wanted to let her know he was willing to listen if she ever needed anyone to talk to. Malakai was mostly an open book; sure he kept some of the details of his private life to himself (such as how many girls he really brought home on a semi-regular basis), but from his experience the past few years as a professional athlete, he had come to realize that any skeletons hanging in his closet would be exposed sooner or later. Whatever Dominique was keeping to herself, he hoped that she would be able to find a way to speak about it before she decided to venture into professional Quidditch, if that was even a path she was considering. “I don’t need a break Miss Weasley, but you’ll soon wish you took me up on my offer!” Kai called, grinning widely as they continued to beat the Bludger back and forth between them. Both were evenly matched, though if he was honest he was trying to make sure he was bringing himself to an even field as Dominique - he did have almost four years of experience over her after all. Soon though, the sun dipped below the mountains, and the lights in the pitch sprang to life. He knew that his favorite ice cream shop would be closing soon, and he wanted to make sure he took Dom there. So, he swallowed his pride and allowed himself to miss one of her shots. “Bollocks!” he cried as the Bludger whizzed passed his outstretched arm, thankfully missing his bones and a trip to Saint Mungos to get them reset. “Alright then, you won. Now we get ice cream, my treat,” he called, pulling out his wand and sending the Bludger back into its’ box. “What is your flavor preference?” he asked as they walked out of the stadium, offering his arm to the young woman to appear gallant and gentlemanly. Hopefully she wouldn’t recognize the fact that he let her win. @dominique

Dom was glad that Finn didn't try to push her for more information. She didn't want to think about Ethan right now, but she knew that it probably took some good self-control to not ask questions. At least, it would if he was anything like her. As a general rule, Dom didn't believe in self-control. She did what she wanted when she wanted and rarely ever had any regrets about it. Finn seemed to be similar, which she really appreciated.
He challenged her again, saying that she'd wish she took him up on his offer for a break and Dom just laughed in response. He was amazing, honestly. It was clear why he was on a professional team and Dom watched as he hit the bludger different ways, making some mental notes of things to practice next time she had a chance. He was quite amazing. However, she was curious to see how long he'd let this go before they went to go get dessert. Also, she was curious to see how it would end. If their game would end when one of them missed, or if he'd call a tie. She smirked when he let the ball go by. Yeah, she noticed, but she wasn't about to say anything. Dom had the feeling he just wanted to do the food thing, so she wasn't going to tease him about letting her win. "Oooh, ice cream?" she asked, laughing as she flew towards him, landing and then moving to walk with him when he offered his arm. She shrugged a shoulder, "I don't really have a preference. I just see what's there and get what sounds good," Dom admitted. It was how she did most things, honestly. "What about you?" she asked, smiling up at him curiously.

Finn smiled as Dom took his arm; she didn’t say anything about the fact that he had let her win, but he had a feeling she knew. It wasn’t exactly like he had done it to impress her after all; he really did want that ice cream, and he wanted her to be able to experience it. With their talent level and skills, they could easily be there until the early hours of the morning. Finn supposed that they could always go right when it opened in the morning, but he was craving the dairy product now, and he liked his sleep. Though, Finn realized with a start, if he was going to stay out all night playing one vs one Quidditch, he’d play it with Dominique in a heartbeat. Merlin, this girl really was something wasn’t she? “Personally, I’m a sucker for anything chocolate, but sometimes my gut instinct tells me to go in an entirely different direction,” Finn told her as they arrived to the tiny shop on the corner. He pushed open the door, the tinkling bell ringing as he allowed her to pass through first. “Madame,” he said with a grin, waiting for her to be fully in the shop before closing the door behind them. Finn took a huge inhale and sighed happily. The smell of ice cream, chocolate and other sweet things wafted into his nostrils; this truly was his happy place. “Alright Boggs?” he called out to the ice cream scooper, a plucky ginger haired teen boy who waved in greeting. “The shops owned by Muggles, but I swear sometimes the ice cream tastes like it had to be created with magic,” Finn uttered in a low voice. He walked up to the counter, surveying the flavors with a keen eye and acute interest. “Boggs, I’ll have a cup of the chocolate mocha, with some hot fudge, walnuts and...oh let’s just put some whipped cream on top too yeah?” he ordered, then turned to Dominique. “Whatever your heart desires, you get. My treat,” he told her with a slight bow, grinning cheekily. @dominique

Dom laughed when Finn explained that he liked chocolate but would sometimes choose something else. She shrugged, "I like chocolate. It's a good one if nothing else catches my eye." Really though, Dom liked to try new flavors. She liked to surprise people with her choices and she was rarely disappointed by that method. In all honesty, Dom liked most things she tried. She was not a picky eater at all.
He lead her to the ice cream place, opening the door for her in a very gentlemanly-like manner. Dom chuckled, walking in in front of him. She was a little surprised when Finn knew the server kid by name. He came here that often? Huh. In her book, that was definitely something to be admired. Anyone who went by their sweet tooth was obviously doing things right. A grin crept onto her face as he told her how much he enjoyed this ice cream. "I'm looking forward to it," she muttered back, stepping forward as she glanced at the flavors listed. Many of them were popular choices. She took a moment to survey her options, half listening as Finn ordered his own. She looked over to him when he bowed, grinning at her and saying she could get whatever she wanted. "Ooooh, perfect!" Dom looked at her options. "I'll have cookie dough with oreos, hot fudge ... and I'll just follow my good friend here's example and get whipped cream with it too." She turned to Finn, beaming. "Thanks!" He was really being a gentleman by paying for her and Dom appreciated it.
