Nico had never been so excited before. She was standing outside of the Electric Forest pagan festival, waiting on her blind date to come so they could enjoy the festival. Part of her was ready to ditch whoever the woman they picked for her was and enjoy the festival on her own if she didn't show up soon. It was still early though, she'd shown up well before the meeting time to check everything out and she was in love. Everything was so bright and colorful and interesting. There were people everywhere being themselves and there were booths everywhere selling many types of trinkets and crystals and things she could easily use to spice up her rituals. She wanted to get started. She was waiting just on the outskirts of everything, dressed in a long dark blue gown that she felt was appropriate for a date and for the activities they were going to be participating in. Sure, she was looking for love on this date but she wasn't desperate for it. She'd seen the ad in the paper and she'd actually been over to Horizon Alley often enough to know of Blishwick matchmaking. She'd never had a need of their services before, didn't really need the now, but she'd thought it would be fun. She'd filled out the mini application included with the ad and sent it in. Her response was relatively fast too so she had been excited about the date. Even more so now that she saw what it was they would be doing. She clasped her hands behind her back and turned away from the entrance. If she didn't stop looking, she really would run in and forget all about the date. Moving a piece of hair behind her ear, she waited, only slightly less impatient than before.

A surge of adrenaline surged through Evie's un-blood veins as she sauntered toward the festival grounds. Her fingers spun her black parasol as she smiled. The energy here was really quite lovely. She had her dark emerald hair pulled back into a wild and curly tail with neatly twisted fringe to frame her pale face. Evie was wearing a fun black-velvet gothic dress with long bell sleeves, accenting and yet masking her thinner features with every movement. Her feet were clad in calf-high combat boots.
Evie was not entirely a stranger to the Electric Forest pagan festival. She didn't go every time it was held, but when the Blishwick matchmaking date info listed it as her blind date location, Evie was beyond intrigued. The whole concept of a dating service was foreign to her, as she usually didn't have trouble getting with the people she wanted to. Still, beyond a few dates and the occasional frequent flyer, Evie had yet to find a truly emotional connection with someone. The Blishwick name had recently gained a lot of good press, so she thought it was at least worth a shot. She would probably outlive whomever anyway. Soon she would see if they lived up to all that praise.
Evie looked down at her watch as she approached the entrance. Right on time. This being a completely blind date, all she had to go on was the name of the matchmaking service. The idea of an unknown looking for an unknown at a festival was somewhat ludicrous, but she supposed that was part of the fun. She spotted a slightly taller woman in a lovely dark blue gown who had her hands clasped behind her back and was looking everywhere but toward the entryway. Perhaps that was her? With a confident stride, Evie approached the woman with a smile and asked,
"Excuse me, I'm supposed to be here for a blind date. Did Blishwick send you here perchance?"

Forever hyper aware of her surroundings, Nicolette knew the exact moment that her date arrived. Well, at least she was hoping whoever it was that was throwing off that delightful aura was her date. She was still looking away from the festival and trying to be patient, though her tapping foot gave every indication that she was close to leaving. And then she felt it, that aura of darkness and power and it crawled across her skin to the point that it made her shiver in excitement. It was her voodoo that made her so sensitive to it and she liked it. With no self-control and not a care in the world her head snapped to the direction that she felt it coming from. Who was standing there, to her satisfaction, was a woman. A girl actually. She was so young and she looked so carefree in her black dress, twirling a parasol above herself. It made Nico simultaneously jealous and proud. She’d always wished to be free in her youth. Not that she’d had an issue with living with her grandmother and helping her run the shop. She’d just wished she’d had the chance to enjoy her youth more. Be more carefree like that. Buy crazy and extremely flattering clothing. Love herself more. Yet she still loved seeing other young women be and love themselves. A smile ghosted across her lips as she watched and waited for the young girl go by her. The girl stopped and waited, checked her watch and waited some more. She was probably waiting on friends, or a date. Speaking of dates, Nico’s brow furrowed momentarily. Where in the world was her date? A voice rang out, one she assumed belonged to the young woman, asking her a question. It took her a moment to process what she’d said. ”My goodness, are you my date? Did you request older women or something? You can’t be more than 18 years old!” her words didn’t have any malice behind them, only shock. Had Blishwick Matchmaking really paired her up with a child? The woman seemed rather surprised, asking Evie if she was her date and commenting upon her apparent age. Evie smiled and laughed. She'd be blushing if that were physically possible for her. Instead, she inhaled enough to blood-sense the woman and cause her dark-red eyes to briefly flare into a brighter shade.
"I guess I am your date then," Evie started, still smiling at the compliment to her age. "Full disclosure," she whispered, "I am a Vampire. I was turned young." Evie stopped whispering and continued, "I'm actually 35! Hopefully not a deal-breaker..." She chuckled and sighed. Now knowing who her date was, Evie quickly looked the woman up and down. She was really quite a beautiful specimen. Her gown was absolutely lovely, and she had a air of boldness and mystery about her. Already, this was good work on the part of Blishwick Matchmaking. What lay in store for the rest of their time?
Evie thought she might as well get introductions out of the way so that they could get on with better quality conversation. "Name's Chloe Pride. Enchanted to meet you! Have you been to this festival before?"

Nico watched as the young girl laughed, causing a smile to appear on her face too because she was pretty and pretty people dazzled everyone so easily. Then Nico noticed her eyes. At first, she'd thought they were contacts, the type teens put on to make themselves look edgier or more interesting. Her eyes lightened as she watched her and Nico just knew contacts didn't do that. Unless there were a brand of magical eye contacts she didn't know about? Not important. The young girl revealed herself to be a Vampire and that let Nico know for certain that her eyes weren't contacts nor was she as young as she appeared to be. She didn't know a whole lot about vampires. There were a few colonies back in Louisiana that sometimes had people come in to the shop to pick up oddities and vials of blood. More than likely last resorts because it was never enough to feed a whole colony. Maybe this was a good time to learn. ”Hmm, 35 definitely not a deal breaker if 40 isn't a deal breaker for you,” she gave a short laugh which shifted into a smirk as she watched the girl check her out. This was definitely going to be fun. She was just really going to have to work past the fact that she looked so young. ”Nicolette Goudeau. You can call me Nico,” her Southern accent bled through well as she introduced herself back. ”No I hadn't heard of the festival before today but I'm excited. It's the perfect place for me. I'm guessing you'd head of it before.” She was definitely ready to get started, now that her date had arrived. ”Very cute, by the way. Love that,” her finger traced the girl's form in the air as she referred to her chosen attire. Tag; @evie

So they weren't so far apart in age after all! Evie was quick to comment, "Well then! Suppose it to say that we are both experienced? There is value in that."
Evie thought for a moment that they might look strange together in public, but she recalled where they were. This was The Electric Forest. With Pagan rituals and ye-olden taboos around the entire evening-light event, there were far stranger things afoot than them. The woman introduced herself, including a nickname which Evie thought rolled off the tongue rather nicely when paired with the woman's amazing accent.
Incapable of blushing at Nicolette's compliment toward her attire, Evie instead smiled and shrugged. "Thanks! I thought it fitting with the atmosphere; and -speaking of- yes, I have been to the festival once or twice," Evie replied. Just then she heard the familiar sounds of accordions and violins striking up a tune just a ways beyond the entrance. Moments later came the sounds of clacking wood and bells. Her eyes widened, and she reached for Nico's hand.
"Now it's really starting... You are not going to want to miss this!" she gushed, "Come on!"
Evie hurried to the entrance and got the date voucher stamped as quickly as she could. The music was starting to build. There was a loud vocal, "Hey!" and a man began to sing.

Laughter bubbled out of the taller woman with ease at her date's words regarding experience. How true though how forward, she thought, if she'd meant it how Nico was taking it. She hadn't had many relationships herself, preferring to focus on her craft as well as her goal of owning her own shop one day but the few she'd had never ended badly, she liked to think. ”Experienced? Ha! I think we're going to get along just fine,” she smirked and laughed. Chloe reacted to her compliment with grace, saying that she figured it went with the atmosphere of the place before adding in that she had been to the festival before. ”Well then, maybe you could show me...” the words were stolen from her as she watched Chloe's eyes go wide when the sounds of music floated out of the festival entrance towards them. The sound of accordions and violins met her ears in an interesting combination. The next thing she knew, Chloe grabbed her hand and began dragging her towards the ticket booth in a rush. She gave a laugh of excitement as their voucher was stamped and they ran deeper into the venue where there was more entertainment set up. The thrum of the music got louder as they grew closer, there were even singers now added in with the instruments and the urge to dance rose in Nico, utterly enticed by the sounds. They reached the stage where the sounds originated and Nico stared up in awe at the lights and sounds. She turned to her companion of the evening, her body already starting to move a bit to the music. ”Let's dance! I love the way this sounds!” It was music that was perfect for a ritual. One she could perform without any materials other than the waves of the music. She was already utterly in love with the festival and she'd just walked in. Tag; @evie

With music this fun and naturally energetic, Evie could not possibly refuse an opportunity to dance. And dance she did. Joining Nico and those others who gave in to the waves of pure sonic feeling, Evie danced and sang along with what songs she knew. After the musicians ended their set, the solstice festivities continued on through the nomadic yurt and into the Academy. There was a screening of the old muggle film, The Wicker Man, which Evie could not help but laugh during certain parts as she recalled the absurdity of the remake which she had to admit to having seen. Evie and Nico drifted from there to indulge their eyes at one of the liquid psychedelic light shows and the eventual discovery of the rooms housing the UV body painting. This year, Evie's paint scheme of choice was a continuous vine twisting and wrapping across her arms, neck, and face, making sure to include two small tight loops of the vine on her neck. After that still came more music and dance and the thrill of channeling the energies of yore... Ah! To share it all with someone equally -if not more- excited by the festival as Evie was! That was special. The two continued to hit things off to a brilliant friendship. Where it all ended... well... you would have had to have been there. -fade out-
