Cursebreaker training was a lot of fun, in Scorpius's opinion. Logic and puzzles all day, every day, and so much hands on learning - and it was things he didn't already know. They’d been started off in low-risk scenarios or shadowing experienced Cursebreakers, but a couple of months in and the results of messing up were getting to be that much higher.
Today's task was a box - and he and Diana had all day to extract the content safely, while their mentors were off doing… something else. ”So, assuming they don't want to kill us, whatever's in the box is only likely to cause grevious bodily injury. Shield and open it, you think?”

Curse Breaking training was a welcome distraction from everything else going on in her life, despite the fact that she had to see Irina. They'd been close before. Extremely close. But out of fear Diana had pushed her former friend away. Thankfully they usually trained with their own supervisor, so she only had to see Irina during joint training. Today though Scorpius and Diana were paired up. Working on a puzzle box. And they'd been given the entire day to do it. Just that fact alone made Diana wary of the seemingly ordinary container.
Diana absentmindedly gnawed on her bottom lip, mulling over Scorpius' suggestion. IT was a straight forward plan. Just shield up and hope it opened without a hitch (besides attempting to mutilate them, of course). "Do you think it's that simple though?" She finally asked, turning her dark gaze from the container to the blonde boy. They hadn't exactly been friends in school, but they'd gotten along. So this whole partnership wasn't too bad.

Scorpius shrugged at Diana's question and look. Shields and luck was easy, but it almost certainly not the answer their supervisors were looking for. "Probably not. I don't think the box itself is dangerous, but I have no idea about what's inside." He was lying, a bit. He knew the box was not enchanted, at least on the outside, because he could see that it wasn't - he'd seen it from the corner of his eyes and its colour didn't so much as quiver. But he did have no idea what was inside, and that was likely to be the real challenge. "Diagnostics on the box, and probbing for signs of what's inside, he suggested instead. "Sheilds up before we open it still, obviously. Maybe dragon-hide gloves."
