[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Passing by the end of cold winter until the spring day comes again With all the that has been happening lately, Corrine was not at all surprised when Hogwarts had extended their help to Ilvermony when the latter school had been destroyed to ruins. And thus that year, Hogwarts was having double the number of students and thus seven years of students who would be new to everything at Hogwarts aside from Hogwarts first years. While it was the job of Prefects to aid the first years it would have been a tad bit too much for them and thus they came up with 'Buddy System'. From what she gathered it was an attempt to pair a Hogwarts student with an ilvermony student, who would help them among other things. She had known that her own buddy was a seventh year named Wyatt Sinclair and apart from that single piece of information she had nothing else on him. While she had contemplated on contacting him, Cor decided to let it be a surprise for her. And as someone who likes surprises she was rather looking forward to it.
As Corrine stood at the entrance of great hall she smiled happily when she remembered that Wyatt had been sorted into Hufflepuff last night. Ever since she knew of him she had spent days wondering what type of a person he would be. She had hoped that he would not turn out to be a arrogant snob, because those type of people were someone she had least tolerance. And given that he was sorted into Hufflepuff she hoped that he would be a great company or so Merlin have mercy on her. And today was the day she would officially meet him, and her eternal waiting would finally end. As she walked inside she saw one of her professors beckoning her forward and promptly she went to him. When the professor had asked who her buddy was, she gave out his name, "Wyatt Sinclair" as she wondered where he must be. She had not had the chance to see how he looked given all the new faces, and that left Cor to wonder just who he was. She watched on as her professor conveyed the name to a new professor, probably from Ilvermony who gave a nod in recognition. Corrine was now eagerly looking forward to meet her 'Buddy' .

It had actually been a bit of a relief for Wyatt when he had been informed that any of the Ilvermorny students who wanted, would be assigned a Hogwarts Buddy - a form of the 'Buddy System' that in Wyatt's opinion was something that was very welcomed. Although he did have his worries - due to his 'condition' he worried that whoever his buddy was would find out. He wasn't sure on how accepting the Hogwarts students were to people with his condition and he was still a little concerned about how his Wolf was going to react to being in a different place during the full moon. There were a lot of things to be concerned about really.
But at least he had hope that whoever his Buddy was would be someone nice, perhaps someone who could be his first Hogwarts friend even - that would be a nice thing he supposed. He did know that his Buddy was a girl, a girl by the name of Corrine Cleaves - a Seventh year like him, and that was about all that he knew so far. But his Professor had said that they would meet at Breakfast that morning and have a bit of time to get to know each other before any classes began. So after sitting down the Hufflepuff table he began to eat as he sat with his friends, it was awesome that he had been sorted with his bestfriends into the same house at least.
Wyatt had been able to enjoy some of his breakfast before one of his Professors approached him, saying his name and that he was going to meet his buddy - with a small nod and a wave to his friends he stood up and walked with the Professor towards one of the Hogwarts Professors who was standing with a girl. This must be Corrine he guessed, she appeared to be a Ravenclaw if the colours she wore were correct. He offered a small smile before holding out his hand, careful to tug his shirt slightly before doing so, "Wyatt Sinclair - you must be Corrine, right?" he questioned slightly, hoping that he was correct.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Passing by the end of cold winter until the spring day comes again
Corrine had been crossing her fingers hoping that her buddy would be someone nice. She watched on with baited breath as her blue eyes kept on following every move of the Ilvermony professor. She watched on as a student from Hufflepuff stood up from his place and began to make his way towards her alongside the professor. He must be Wyatt she thought and true enough he had approached her and smiled at her which was something she returned. He extended his hand forward to which Corrine put out her own hand and shook it in greeting, "Yes I am, nice to meet you Wyatt". And then looking at him with a pleasant smile she said "welcome to Hogwarts".
Only after the pleasantries were done did Corrine actually realize the fact that she did not know what was expected of her as a buddy. In common sense she knew she had to show him around and such but she did not know exactly what it entails. And thus she decided to remember what the prefects talk about while introducing the first years and may be she would do it the same way as them. And then all of a sudden she asked him, "so have you completed your breakfast? I saw that you were eating yours when the professor called you out". Her tour of Hogwarts can definitely wait for some time, but she did not want her new buddy to feel weak from all the walking on the very first day itself.

Wyatt had many reasons to be unsure about this whole 'Buddy System' that had been put in place between the two schools, but he had a tiny bit of hope all the same that perhaps he'd end up with someone nice - and not someone who was well, against 'people' who were like Wyatt was. He had heard basically every single version of it - people who hated his 'kind'. It wasn't as if he chose to be bitten, it had happened.. that was all. But with a slight shake of his head he shook himself from his thoughts, offering the girl a smile as he introduced himself, "Nice to meet you too Corrine. Thank you."
She seemed nice enough, and that was enough to make him feel at least a little better and a little more relaxed. At her questions he gave a small shrug, "Pretty much done, I was mostly just talking with some friends of mine, what about you? Have you eaten breakfast yet?" He raised his eyes, a tiny smile on his lips as he tugged his sleeve down and pushed his hands into his pockets, "Do you have anything planned for us? I heard a few people talking about tours and such."

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Passing by the end of cold winter until the spring day comes again
When Wyatt had answered back that he was done with his breakfast Corrine nodded her head and said "well that's one task already done. Can't have you hungry now can we" and grinned a little. But when asked about her she realised that she had not had the chance to take a bite yet and with a sheepish smile she shook her head and said "I did not, but not to worry I will be grabbing something later on. I don't have classes for a long time" And truth be told she was not at all feeling like eating at that time and may be a little of roaming and talking might make her want to eat some.
When Wyatt asked what she had planned, Corrine looked at him and tilting her head a little, "well we will have a small tour to make sure that you would not be lost in the castle." While it was true that she had no particular plan till that moment, the moment she thought on it, her brain ended up making the best plan, take his interest to account. After all it was no use to drag him around the whole castle and show him every nook and corner only for him to be not interested enough. She looked at him and said "I would show you around the classrooms and other important places, but other than that if you are interested to see something or such, let me know. I wanted to take your interest into account before I plan on anything. Sounds good to you?"

Wyatt gave a small laugh, quickly nodding his head at Corrine's words. But as she answered his own question he couldn't help a little concern poking through, "Well are you hungry now? If you are - there is no rush, even if you just have some toast or something." He gave a little shrug, offering another light smile. "If not - as long as you promise you'll eat, I won't worry so much."
He wasn't sure what to think of the plans, but he was a little relieved that she'd be helping to make sure that he wouldn't end up lost, "I'm glad to hear that part, as awesome as the castle looks and stuff - its a little intimidating and I had a bit of a struggle making sure I didn't take a wrong turn just getting to the hall this morning." Wyatt gave a short laugh, he was pretty easy going and not overly worried - getting lost, hopefully would just be a short adventure but he could easily imagine that getting lost wouldn't be a good thing as well - that part was concerning. "That sounds like a good place to start, I'm not sure what else would be interesting though. But - if I think of something I will let you know - do you have anything in mind you think would be cool?"

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Passing by the end of cold winter until the spring day comes again
Corrine had a slight smile on her face, her eyes crinkling at his words, she was touched at his concern about her. While it was not a great thing, she still felt happy all the same. And then she pondered what he said, and replied "nope, I'm good for now. And then she paused mid step and spoke up "But I may as well take an apple with me just in case I don't have the time to get down here" and smiled. Corrine then went to the nearby table and picked up an apple from the fruit bowl and slipped it inside one of her robe pockets. She had always been grateful for the robes for one thing, and that was the large pockets it had. She slips in food items most of the time into it and whenever she feels hungry, she would happily eat it no matter the place she would be at.
When Wyatt mentioned that he had struggled a bit to reach the Great Hall, she internally wondered what the prefects were doing instead of leaving them to maneuver their way in the large castle. But that was thought for another time as she looked at him and said "well in that case, I will show you the simplest routes to go around the castle without getting lost or confused." When he asked her what she thought, Corrine nodded a bit and said "well there is the library, the clock tower, the owlery, the quad area and few other places are there." Those were the few places her mind had come up with at that time, but she knew that as they would go on she would end up adding a couple more to them.
Gesturing to him Corrine said with a smile "let's get the tour started shall we?" She pointed around them and said "well this is the Great Hall situated in the main floor, and as you might have noticed the four tables seat the students of the four houses. You are supposed to sit with your housemates for the important feasts and such, but rest of the time you can sit wherever you please." And then Corrine pointed to the head table and said "that's where all the professors sit, while you can see some of them on a daily basis, some professors prefer to have their food in their rooms." She then wondered what else to add and having come up with nothing she said "let's go out, I'll show you the rest of the main floor".

Wyatt was glad that the girl would be okay, sure she was his Buddy and it was her duty to help him get settled and find his way around the school but - Wyatt was also her Buddy and if all he could do was make sure she was okay and taking care of herself then - so be it. He'd do what he could to help her out as well. "Sure that sounds okay with me, at least you'll have something just in case." He gave a small smile, quickly shrugging his shoulders and chuckling as she tucked an Apple into her robe pockets. He had quickly noticed that his robes here had rather large pockets, but he hadn't thought of the fact that he could rather easily hide food in them. He'd have to mention that to his friends later, it might be useful to remember.
Eagerly Wyatt nodded his head, happy to have the chance to find the more simple routes, "That might be easier - it'd really come in hand later to learn the best ways to my classes that way. I really don't want to make a bad impression and be late to all my classes and stuff." He gave a quick shrug, "Really though, anything useful is probably a good idea to learn about where it is I think." A small hum escapes him before he nods and moves to fall into step beside her, looking around as she pointed things out, "Simple enough to remember that - I think I have a good understanding of the Great Hall now."
Wyatt offered a quick smile, "After you then, you lead the way - I'm ready to learn."

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Passing by the end of cold winter until the spring day comes again
Corrine smiled at his words and she found herself glad to have a buddy like Wyatt. She then decided to change the topic from her breakfast or lack of and said "so Wyatt, what subjects are you taking this year?" she asked curious to know about his academics. While that was a rather boring question for someone else, she felt that it would be relevant considering that she has to show him around to his classes. besides she was ravenclaw and academic talk was a piece of cake for her than normal talk. And besides, what could she talk with a guy whom she just met when she knew next to nothing about him, except for his name.
When Wyatt seemed to take everything in stride. She had noticed that he was a bit simple when it came to talking and was not an elaborate talker and Corrine was glad for that. She was pretty much new to this whole thing of buddy system and she sure as hell did not know what is in store for them. As they exited the great hall she asked him "So I heard that Ilvermony has four houses as well, what house were you in?" eager to know. While he was new here and all and need to know about Hogwarts, she felt the need to know about his school and ways too. And it would be definitely boring if she keeps on going by herself talking on and on about Hogwarts. While she can do it, it would be a bit boring to do so and she did not want to sound boring at any cost.
Corrine smiled at his enthusiastic response and having reached the Entrance hall she said "well, this the entrance hall, you can find the house points hourglasses here." And then she wondered if the house point rules would apply to the new transfers as well or not. But she decided to tell him the same "well the hourglasses hold the tally of the house points awarded or deducted from a house. At the end of the school year, the house with the maximum points wins the house cup." And when they were on the topic of the cups she added "and quidditch match wins also gain points to the respective houses, And then there is Quidditch Cup which would be awarded to the winner of quidditch matches which are conducted all through the year."

Wyatt brightened up a little at the switch to school subjects, offering a small smile as he spoke, "Most of the basics obviously, like Transfiguration and DADA - and Potions.. although I am more interested in my extras as well, have you heard about a few of the new classes? For me they aren't so new - as they are classes I took back at Ilvermorny - I know the professors from there too." He gave a little shrug here, "Are you going to take any of them?" He was a little curious, he like many others were wondering how the classes from Ilvermorny would be seen by those at Hogwarts. He was going to need to pull out his classes list he supposed to fully answer her question, already he was digging in his pocket to pull out the folded list.
He rarely spoke all that much, while he was friendly - when he wasn't around his friends he was a bit more withdrawn, he had his secrets and it made him not want to talk too much, fear of revealing himself he supposed. At her question he gave a small smile, "I was a Puckwudgie - although I have heard that the houses have similiarities with their traits and stuff." He added on, tilting his head before nodding as she spoke about the house points, he was interested with the talk of a house cup as well but it wasn't until she spoke of the Quidditch cup did he decide to speak up, "Quidditch has a Cup as well?" His eyes lit up as he turned back to her, "I was thinking of trying out for my houses team - do you know anything about that?" He was trying to reel in his curiousity but, Quidditch was something he really liked and he wanted to know a little more.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Passing by the end of cold winter until the spring day comes again Corrine had observed the way Wyatt reacted to her question which made her smile, as she mentally congratulated herself. She nodded her head as he spoke and noted them in the back of her mind for future use. As he asked about the new classes "yeah I've heard of them, but didn't get a chance to look at all the subjects which are being offered". And from what she knew, a few of those classes were what she had taken when she was in the muggle world, and she had to wonder if she would take them again or just skip them. When he asked her if she was taking any of the classes, she gave a shrug and said "I know that you have a class on the native American magic which I am going to take up for sure, but other than that I don't know the other classes". She saw him searching for something and wondered if he wanted something.
As Wyatt mentioned that he was a Pukwidgie, she nodded remembering that it to be one of the houses in Ilvermony. When he mentioned that they share the traits, "represents the heart and favours healers" she recited what she had read about the house. Turning to look at him she asked "so how do you feel being sorted as a Hufflepuff in here?" As he caught onto the word quiddith she had to stop herself from uttering, 'boys and quidditch'. But neverthless she chose to answer him instead and said "yes there is a quidditch cup for which the four teams compete". And when he asked about trying out for his team, she looked at him and said "the house captains will hold try-outs every year to fill out the open places. They will post a notice in the common room in this week or the next." She then thought for a moment and said "Zita is the quidditch captain and as far as I know there are a few open places on the team you can try for." And since the topic was on quidditch she asked him with a smile "so what position do you play in and what is the position you cannot play in at all?"

Wyatt while not as studious as some of his classmates - did put forth effort and care into his classes, he did well in them as well and could have easily been sorted into Ravenclaw. But his heart fit to Hufflepuff far more he supposed. He nodded as she spoke, "Some of them are really good, I'd totally recommend a few of them too, I like the Native American Magic class - the Professor prefers to be called by his first name too, he can be a little strict but he's a good teacher for sure. If you have any questions about the other professors just ask me - I'm happy to answer any questions too. This Buddy thing can work both ways then," He finally found the list and carefully pulled it from his pocket, unfolding it as he smiled back at her, "I got given this - my classes listed I guess. Do you have yours yet? Or was it just me and the other transfers that have ours already?" He asked her with a small smile, he wondered if they had arranged for the transfers to get their lists earlier or something.
When she easily recited about his former house he couldn't help the smile that lit up on his face, "Thats Pukwudgie, I guess I'm all heart - although I have been debating a career as a healer oddly enough..." he tilted his head, a small laugh escaping him, "I don't mind being a Hufflepuff - my bestfriends were also sorted into Hufflepuff which is cool, so we're still together and sharing a dorm as well. Hufflepuff seems a lot like Pukwudgie in someways too." As she answered his questions about Quidditch he gave a small grin, "I take it you're not a huge Quidditch fan?" He didn't want to bother her but what she said did help him and he nodded slightly, making a note of the name she mentioned - Zita - he'd have to look out for her maybe he could speak with her too - being in the same house may make that easier.
"Oh - I prefer Chaser - I think the one I can't play to save my life though would be a beater..." His nose scrunched slightly as he shook his head, "I Just - I hate the idea of hitting a budger towards someone - on purpose, I mean.. I've been hit with one a couple times and just - I don't like the idea of hurting someone even if by accident. I guess its a bit violent for me. But chaser is kind of perfect - I get to be right in the middle of things and also get to fly around a ton as well - the best part about Quidditch, I'm part of things and I get to fly around."

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Passing by the end of cold winter until the spring day comes again As Corrine walked alongside him she listened to him talk about the subjects. She was very much pleased when he mentioned that the professor was a good one and while he was strict from Wyatt had said, she knew that it would not be a problem for her. When he asked if she had other questions she gave a small nod and said “I will most definitely have one if I go through that list” . When he pulled out his schedule, Corrine found herself smacking her head “I knew I was forgetting something” . It was officially the first day of classes and she was supposed to pick her schedule from her head of house at breakfast. And considering that she skipped the meal, she had also missed taking it. “Well we receive it today at breakfast, but never mind I will get mine from the professor later on” .
When Wyatt mentioned that he was considering to be a healer too Corrine had on a surprised look as she spoke up ”well I’m not trying to impress or anything, but I too am aiming to become one”. She had always wanted to be one, considering that her father was a doctor, she had found herself to want to help others and heal them. She nodded at his words when he mentioned that his friends’ were also sorted to the same house. “That’s great news, I am glad that you have your friends with you” said Corrine and she actually meant that. She herself cannot imagine the thought of being separated from her own friends after having lived with them for the past six years. At his comparison of the two houses she nodded her head and said “yeah there are a few things in common, loyalty being one”.
When Wyatt seemed to catch on her lack of enthusiasm for quidditch, she gave a sheepish grin and said “I would not say I hate the game, just that I never had a good feelings about it”. But that did not stop her from supporting her house in matches. However she never played it and would not indulge herself in the idle banters of which team is the best. She had often felt that the game was barbaric to begin with. As he answered back with his best position as chaser, Corrine nodded her head and said “well you would be good one at that”. She had noticed that he was tall and lanky giving him an upper hand when ti came to flying at high speeds and maneuvering on his broom faster than the others. Not that she would admit to the fact that she had checked him out whilst they were walking.
When he mentioned that he felt uncomfortable at the thought of hitting the bludgers, she gave a genuine smile and said “I think this is the first time I have heard someone say it.” And that was the truth itself, she had never heard anyone say it, and while it was a game and everything was in good fun, she somehow could not bring herself to agree with the whole lot of violence involved in it.
