[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Passing by the end of cold winter until the spring day comes again
Corrine was still getting used to being back at Hogwarts whose population was now twice more than the usual. It was funny how the castle seemed to have had enough space to accommodate all the newbies and yet still seem as though it had loads of space. She is very much inclined to think that the castle is sentinent after witnessing this. After all how could a castle which had been hosting witches and wizards for over centuries not pick up the magic used in it's very halls. While that seemed like a far fetched theory, she knew that it was likely that it might be possible. Given the fact that magic itself was considered to be impossible in the eyes of muggles but yet it exisists, she hoped that her theory might also have a chance in being true. She decided to go and talk to her Magical theory professor about it on a later date.
As Corrine sat in her dorm room, she thought back to these two days of being back at Hogwarts. She has had the chance of meeting a couple of the transfer students including her buddy and they all seemed to be pretty good and friendly in her eyes. But other than that she has not had the opportunity to catch up with her own friends. Even though most of her friends were from Ravenclaw, she still did not get a chance to hang out with them and that made her feel bad. Hoping to rectify it, Corrine decided to get down to their common room and catch up with some of her friends. It was only 8 in the morning and if she would hazard a guess, there was a chance of meeting at least one of her friends. And thus leaving it upon Lady luck she began to make her way downstairs. Just as she reached the common area, she caught sight of a familiar face and she smiled. "Hey there Riley" she said as she made her way towards one of her close friends.

Riley hadn’t been able to sleep. He hadn’t slept much for the past few days. Since his parents had dropped the bomb on him and changed his entire life. How could he sleep knowing that the girl that he actually loved was so close to him, yet he was being forced to push her away in favor of this girl whom he had never talked to before the night before returning to Hogwarts. He was supposed to marry her now, and his entire future was riding on it. His family had been very clear that if he blew this, it would be them that looked back. They had done this on purpose, he knew. Because Lydia had told them that he was falling in love with a girl that they wouldn’t and couldn’t approve of.
Since he couldn’t sleep, Riley took his book, a book about ethics, ironically enough, down to the common room and was going to just read by the fire until people began to stir and get ready for class. He heard footsteps enter the common room and looking up, he saw a girl he knew, another student in his year. “Hey.” Riley greeted her. “You’re up early.” he said softly.

As Corrine approached him, she saw that he had a book in hand and she wondered if he was disturbing his study time. But he when greeted her back, she did not bother much as she made herself comfortable on one of the couches. At his question she gave a shrug and said "not that early, but yeah a little before than my daily time." And then she asked him back, " What are you doing up this early? Reading already"she asked with a playful look as she pointed to the book in his hand. It was a book she did not recognise and nor could she see the title of it from the way he held it. But then again they were a lot of books in the wizarding world she did not get to read and may be it was one such.
Corrine looked up at him and asked him "so how was your summer?" She had not had the chance to talk to him till now and she did not know how his summer had gone by. As for herself her summer was just the usual. She went to work on as a summer intern at her father's hospital and later they had been on a small family vacation. She had wanted to be a healer and given her interest in potions she knew that it was the right choice to make. And that was why she spends most of her time reading books on healing magic and even at times she would read upon muggle medicines. She wanted to know everything about the different ailments if she was going to try and work out the counter potions for them. She shook her head from her own thoughts as she waited for Riley to respond back.

“Always.” Riley responded with a smirk when his friend asked him if he was reading already. The Ravenclaw did a lot of reading. He hadn’t done a lot of reading over the past few months while he was with Kinsey, just because he had other things on his mind and loads less free time, but now here he was, nothing but time. At least, when his fiancee wasn’t around and fishing for his attention. He almost felt sorry for the younger girl. He could tell that she was a lot more into this than he was. And he wasn’t sure that he could ever return her feelings in the way that she wanted him to and that he was expected to. “Nothing for school, just for fun.” he shrugged. It was another psychology book. He wanted to stay sharp, he wanted to keep up on his skills and his practice. He didn’t have all that much time left until he’d start working and he wanted to be ready. He wanted to be more than ready. He wanted to accelerate through his training, he wasn’t sure if that was even an option, but if it was, he wanted to be prepared for it.
“Oh it was fine.” Riley said with a shrug. He wasn’t lying. It was a fine summer, there were good things, like going to Brighton with Kinsey and taking her up the London Eye, and there were bad things, like going to the alps with his family and Lydia telling his parents all about the halfblood that their perfect, pureblood son was dating. And, of course, there was the night before the start of term when he was introduced to his future wife. “Eventful I suppose.” the Ravenclaw shrugged. “How was yours? A nice break?” he asked.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Passing by the end of cold winter until the spring day comes again For as long as Corrine knew the guy he always liked to read and one can say that it as a trait the whole of their house shares. While others consider them to be obsessive over their reading, she would deem it as quenching their curiosity. And as far as she was concerned, she would not mind that comment and in her eyes it was not a bad thing after all. She nodded her head when he mentioned that it was not for school, and she decided to ask bout it later. Because she could notice a shift in his behaviour when she mentioned summer. having been a friend to him for that long she could easily pick out his sudden change of behaviour. His shrug was not something she expected and he was pretty much vague about it. And to top it all he used the word eventful which spiked her interest. Since he had asked about her she spoke up first "mine was good, dad was busy as usual and mama tried to cook us some of the new recipes she learned from her cooking class". Life had always been rather boring for Corrine to be honest at least while she was on school break. Looking at him whoever she was once again reminded of his choice of words and she decided to ask about it. "So what do you mean by eventful? did something happen?" asked Corrine as she tried to think of any possibilities. His girlfriend was someone her mind immediately went to. She and Kinsey shared a dorm and since they weren't that close, Corrine had no chance of knowing if it had some thing to do with her.
@riley September really sorry for the late reply !!!
