Hogwarts was indeed a different place than Ilvermorny, but it was certainly a facinating place - already she had managed to get herself lost twice and she had come accross three different ghosts, each with their own ... interesting personality. She had yet to have her first class of the year, but that she was unsure if it was a good or bad thing still. For now she was fairly content, the students and professors had both been welcoming - to both student and facuilty transfers, she hoped that it would last and was doing her best to see things as positive as she possibly could.
Things would certainly be interesting, she was sure of that much - she was however still considered to be fairly 'new' as far as being a Professor went, which in her experience from teaching at Ilvermorny - had proven to be both a good and a bad thing. At Hogwarts though, she wasn't sure what to fully expect - but she was still comforted to know she had a few familiar faces of her fellow transfering Professors and not to mention students who would know her. But how the Hogwarts students would be - she was a little anxious to learn. For now though she was simply eager to get to her room and enjoy a good nights rest.
Or at least she would have if she hadn't almost been plowed into, and knocked to the ground by someone running in the hall...

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] I don't even know my own self, so who can know me ?
Jae had been back at Hogwarts after convincing her parents for a long time. After what all has happened in the wizarding world his parents did not want him to be attending Hogwarts. While he would have obeyed their words, this time he choose not to. More than he cared to admit, Jae felt that he was a part of the magical world and no matter how much he wanted to forget and leave it all behind, he knew he cannot do it. Being a wizard was part of who he was and it would not change. And thus he was once again back in Hogwarts to attend his sixth year of schooling. And this year, he actually wanted to be a better person than he was the year before. Last year, he all but ignored the students from Durmstrang and Beauxbatons because he did not trust them to stay calm and not cause trouble in Hogwarts. But Ilvermony students on the other hand were different in his eyes, they just lost their school and had to relocate to the other side just so that they could attend and complete their schooling. He kind of sympathized with them.
Jae was seated with his friends near the black lake that evening after classes and the whole group were talking about what they had been upto in the summer. It was the first time the whole group sat down after the school started and thus they had failed to notice that it was almost dinner time until someone pointed it out. Cursing out loud that they might've missed dinner, the boys hurried back to the castle Jae being the last one to get up and check around if they might've left something behind. As he ran his way back into the castle, what Jae had not been expecting was to run into someone. When he says run into, he literally meant that. Jae had bumped straight into someone causing both of them to loose their footing and got knocked down like bowling pins. While he tried to gain his senses back, he quickly apologized to the other person,"Mianhamnida" but he did not realize that he spoke in his native tongue out of reflex. Muttering to himself about being left behind by his friends, he quickly stood up and saw that it was not a student he ran into, but a professor from the looks of it, and a new one at that. Cursing mentally at his bad luck he quickly offered her a hand and with a sheepish smile he said "I'm sorry, haven't see you coming. Are you okay?"
** Mianhamnida - sorry

Cassie certainly hadn't expected to be knocked into by a student, let alone end up being knocked onto the ground. She cringed as she felt the impact, a small groan escaping as she looked up to see who it was. Only to see a Hogwarts student, she heard the word although wondered what it meant, it was rare that she heard a student speak another language but it was something that certainly caught her attention. As much as the impact hurt, she put on a small smile, gladly taking the offer of help to get back to her feet.
"There now, it's alright." She offered another smile, "I'll be just fine ... Mr..?" She trailed off, her hand reaching up to re-adjust her glasses, "Are you alright? I didn't end up hurting you did I? Apparently we both didn't see each other coming, you'll have to excuse me - I'm Professor Weatherly, from Ilvermorny."

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] I don't even know my own self, so who can know me ?
As the professor took his hand and was back on her feet, Jae found himself relieved. At least the fall did not impact her in a bad way. He felt sorry for her that she had to bump into him, wonder what she would think of him from now on. And Godric he hoped that she was not the professor for one of the subjects he is taking. When she pronounced that she was alright, Jae nodded his head a little and with a sheepish smile he said "I'm really sorry". As she enquired about his name, he gave a small smile and said "I'm Park Jae-Hyun Professor, Sixth year in Gryffindor house" and gave a small bow in her direction as was his tradition of greeting elders. While he may be far away from his native land he still does not forget his traditions and the way he hold himself.
Turns out Jae's luck was not that bad at all. He had expected the professor to go on a rant of how crazy the students at Hogwarts are and such, bit instead he was met with a target sweet one which made him feel a bit more bad. As she asked about him, he shook his head and said "I'm quite alright, a fall like this is nothing when compared to the Quidditch injuries" and it was true in fact. Jae had suffered some injuries whilst playing that game but he still continued on. As she introduced herself he gave a nod and with a wide grin on his face he said "Hello Professor Weatherly, and welcome to Hogwarts". And then he wondered what subject she taught and this made him ask her the same "so professor what subject would you be teaching us ?!"

She remembered well when she had been a student, it hadn't been all that long ago really - at least it didn't feel too long ago, and compared to most of the other professors she worked with, Cassie was one of the youngest among them. She was the closest in age to the students, plus her own siblings currently being students as well - it opened up Cassie to knowledge and understanding that most of her fellow staff members didn't have. "It's perfectly alright, neither of us are badly injured or anything." she offered another smile, she hoped he wasn't feeling too badly - many a time in her own schooling she had been clumsy and tripped herself and even others on accident. Hearing his name, year and house she gave a small nod - noting what he said for her own recollection, she wanted to try and remember as many students as she could - it'd be near impossible to actually remember every single one - but she was sure going to do her best and try. Her smile softened as he bowed, while personally she didn't understand it - she understood it was likely a tradition of his in some way and she respected that.
Cassie was relieved that he was indeed alright, "A Quidditch player huh?" She hummed lightly, nodding her head - she could understand that well enough. "Thank you for the warm welcome," as he asked about the subject that she'd be teaching she straightened up a little before speaking, "I'll be teaching Home Ec and Life Skills, a new subject for Hogwarts this year it seems."

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] I don't even know my own self, so who can know me ?
Jae had thanked all the stars above when the professor assured him that she was alright. The last thing he needed was being on the bad books of the new professor even before he attended her class. And if he was honest, she seemed to be pretty young to be a professor. And may be that was why she did not shout at him or dock points like the others do. And he was happy that she did not, as he definitely did not want to be the reason Gryffindor was low on points than the other houses from the very start. He then spoke up, nodding his head at her words " yeah thank God for that, I definitely do not want to be the one to accidentally injure a pretty professor like you" he said with a cheeky smile. He had always been the playful guy by nature and that extended to his professors as well at times, especially when he knew that the latter would not hold it against him and the situation is not hostile.
When she seemed to catch on to him being a quidditch player, Jae gave a nod and said "yeah the chaser for gryff" and smiled. And out of curiosity he asked "do you happen to like the game?" wanting to know the opinion of the new professor. When she mentioned the subject she would be teaching, Jae tilted his head a little as he ran his hand through his brown hair as he looked up at her and said "yeah it is a new subject in here. But it seems a bit similar to a subject I once had at school." He choose not to elaborate that the school he attended was a muggle one. While his earlier self would've boasted a bit about him having already known the subject and all, his current self is trying to be a bit less obvious about things relating to the muggle world. Being a muggleborn he knew that he would become a target one day or another, and if he can avoid it at all, he was willing to watch his words a little.

Cassie didn't see much of a need to get all up in arms and annoyed - the bumping into her had clearly been an accident, of course he shouldn't have been running - and she'd make sure to bring that up, but for now she was okay and he seemed to be fine as well. His following words though made her raise her eyes, quickly reaching up to adjust her glasses as she looked back at him again, "You really shouldn't be runnin in the halls though, please try not to from now on okay?" she spoke carefully, deciding for now to not say anything about his... cheeky - almost flirty behaviour. It certainly wasn't winning her over - but, it was something that she found a little amusing if nothing else.
She had discovered that many of the students she had met so far seemed to enjoy playing or at least following the game, at his confirmation she simply nodded, glad to know that he was a player for one of the school teams. "Its interesting," she gave a small smile, not confirming or denying if she did like the game or not. But his reaction to the clas she was teaching did catch more of her attention, she had been carefully observing reactions to her class - but this was one she hadn't had before, "You attended a No-Maj school, before getting your letter." she noted it with a small smile, she understood well, "I attended one myself - despite knowing of my own magic growing up." She didn't elaborate further but it was enough to let him know that she had no bias against those born to non-magic parents. Her own mother had been born to her grandparents who had not been magical at all.

Jae would have been lying through his teeth if he ever said that a professor reciprocated his cheeky behaviour or even encouraged it. But then again he never was told off for that in particular, but he would be told off for something else he might've done. And this time too it proved the same which caused him to wonder if there was a handbook in place for the professors on how to act, just like how they had the book of rules. And when the professor had chosen to ignore hsi cheek, Jae decided to drop it and not test her further. He nodded at her words and said "yes professor".
When the professor responded back with a casual answer, he knew that she was trying to maintain a common stance. Of course that was how most of the professors were, they would either enjoy the game without actually supporting nay of the teams, or they would not even bother about it. And Jae was happy to know that the new professor belonged to the first category. While he was not so sure what he would do or say if she was in the second category. But then again he always want people to know of him and that only happens when they know who he is, and he was a quidditch player.
When the professor seemed to catch on the fact that he attended a muggle school, he nodded his head and said "yes I did attend" as he mentioned the name of the most prestigious schools in London. He was sent to the best school after all, and while he mentioned the name there was a casual tone to it rather than a boasting one he usually posseses. As the professor talked about her attending one as well, he nodded his head and then added his own words "I did not know of magic till my letter was sent, a definite surprise it was." And then he asked her "so is it going to be similar to the muggle class we were taught at school? He was curious after all, and if the class was going ot be even remotely similar to that of what he had studied at school, Jae might be very much tempted to sign up for the class.

Perhaps it would have been a better thing if she had spoken up and fully discouraged the cheeky behaviour, but for now - Cassie was mearly still getting a feel for the school and its students. The last thing she wanted was to cause some drama before she had even been here for a full week, so she bit her tongue about it and tried to ignore the cheek, although she did make sure to remind him of not running in the halls. It was a safety hazard and she really didn't want him or anyone else to get hurt. She gave a small smile, nodding back at him as he seemed to get what she said, "Thank you."
It was wise for her to not say much about Quidditch or if she supported any teams in particular, it was more of a professional stance of course - despite if she did have a few she followed and supported, it was of course better to not support one school team over another. The shift of talking about schools, non-magical schools - was a bit easier and she was actually pleased to learn that he had attended one before coming to Hogwarts. Of course - she had no idea what school it was, if it was a more prestigious school or not she didn't know just by the name of it - being new to England she hadn't really looked at those schools after arriving. So she simply nodded as he mentioned the name. "I can understand that, my mother - she had grown up not knowing until she was eleven as well." Her smile faultered a little at the mention of her mother, lightly shrugging her shoulders - she didn't remember her birth mother though, "But yes a little bit like that, with some more magical things involved of course - but the general mindset is a bit like you would have learned back then." Cassie was honestly thankful for this interaction now, seeing even one student show some interest was a boost she needed.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] I don't even know my own self, so who can know me ?
When the professor had only acknolwedged his reply with a thank you, Jae gave his famous smile in her direction. He then remembered that it was dinner time and proceeded to ask her "have you had your dinner professor?" He himself was headed for dinner in the first place, but now that he was talking to the professor he knew that dinner can wait. And if he will be late, his friends would sneak something for him or he might take a tri pdown to the kitchens. As he thought about dinner he wondered how the new professor was finding Hogwarts and he asked the same "so professor, how is UK treating you? it is a sudden change after all". And while the change in geography was not something he can relate to, he kenw that the cultural difference was something he can relate to.
When the professor talked about her mother, Jae found himself nodding at her words. After all it was one of things which was exclusive to him. That happy feeling and confirmation that he was special. As the professor confirmed that the class would be mostly the same as what he was taught as, Jae gave a wide smile as he said "wow, then I am definitely going to be attending the class". Whiel Jae will not admit to it he definitely likes to enjoy his muggle side and anything when connected to his previous lifestyle was okay in his eyes. "I have liked that class before, and I am sure that learning it in Wizarding perspective would be nice and refreshing" he said with a genuine interest shining in his eyes.

It was one of the things that Cassie found a little tricky about being a professor. Often she had to try and hide how something made her feel - to remain professional, it could be a little hard to do at times but the longer she was a Professor - the slowly it was becoming a little easier to do. Oh it didn't stop her from caring though, not in the slightest. She did care - she cared deeply when it came to her students, when it came to wanting to help them and keep them safe during these tough times. But she had to often remind herself she still had to be professional and not let certain things show about how they made her feel.
At his question she offered a small smile, "No I havent yet eaten, have you had your supper yet?" she asked him in return, only just now realizing that it must have been where he had been heading in such a hurry. "I hope I havent kept you from eating." she added on quickly before chuckling softly at his following questions, "Oh it has been interesting that is for sure." A lot had happened since the move to the UK, "It's been treating me pretty well though I must say." The cultral differences were still very much an adjustment for her though.
It was a strange thing to speak about her mother and be talking about her birth mother instead of her other mother. The mother who had helped raised her - who had birthed her siblings, was very much her mother all the same. This time though it wasn't her that Cassie was refering to - and that was a little odd, a bitter sweetness filled her heart as she spoke. Talking about her class though was a refresher and she happily spoke about it, "That will be good to see, I hope I will see you in my classes then. It will be nice to at least know one of my students before classes start up." she gave a quick nod, "Yes, that was part of the reason I wanted to teach it. I learnt a lot when I took it in my No-Maj school, but there wasn't anything like it in the magical world."

k with a negative, Jae tilted his head and asked her ”I hope I was not keeping you from it” and when asked about him he said “me neither” . And when she asked about her keeping him, he shook his head and said “not at all” . Besides wasn’t he the one who kept on asking her questions and keeping her here? Shaking his thoughts he listened to her as she replied back. He found himself nodding and asked her “good to know professor” . And then not able to keep his curiosity at bay he asked her “what did you like about Hogwarts?” The professor seemed to be someone who was not against having a conversation with a student and Jae himself was eager to listen to her point of view. He had met a few transfer students but to listen to a professor’s view on things would be enlightening to say the least.
When the professor spoke about her knowing him beforehand, he nodded and said “yes of course I am going to be in the classes, they sound like fun. And besides I always like to try out new things” and while the last one was a bit odd coming from his mouth, the professor need not know that. He was not much of an academic person to begin with and thus any subject which would give him a good grade with ease was his pick. While the same did not apply to certain subjects namely those he needed for his upcoming auror training. He needed to get those grades up in the NEWTS too if wanted to pursue a career. As he listened to the professor talk about how the subject was not there in the magical world, he tilted his head and said “ummm professor, did you add the subject to the curriculum of Ilvermony?” If she did then the professor would be his favourite by far.

"Not at all, I had planned to go back to my rooms for awhile - but this was much more interesting." Cassie offered a small smile before shrugging her shoulders - her eyes lifting as he spoke that he hadn't eaten yet either. She pushed down her usual concern - apparently raising her siblings was making her a little more protective when it came to others eating and such. But it wasn't her responsibility to make sure this student ate. At his question she couldn't help but laugh slightly, "There are many things I like here already." she started before pausing, "I suppose one of my favorite things is actually the enviroment.. the grounds are amazing. The castle is too - although.. I find it more interesting than anything else, so much history is in these walls.. if they could talk can you imagine the stories they would tell?" her eyes lit up as she spoke, truly - Hogwarts was amazing.
Hearing that he'd be taking on the newer classes was something good for her to hear, surprisingly she had heard many negative things so far by students who didn't seem to be enjoying the idea of new classes and things to learn. "I gotta admit, I like your thoughts there - its a good thing to want to try something new now and again." she gave a slight nod as she spoke, it was comforting to know at least a few students were looking forward to the chance of learning something new. His last question took her by surprise and a slightly sheepish look overcame her face, the answer was a little more complex to explain, "In a way yes, there wasn't much of the subject at all - but now there is."

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] I don't even know my own self, so who can know me ? Jae found himself smiling at her words and was glad to know that she was not halted because of his talk. To be honest now that he was talking to the professor, he knew that he would perhaps enjoy this new class a bit more. He was not someone who manages to stay awake in classes, especially the theory classes but given the way Professor Weatherly was speaking he knew that he would not have much difficulty to concentrate in her class. As the professor began to tell about the things she liked in here, Jae found that no matter the age everyone seemed to be very much amazed by the castle itself. When she mentioned about the stories he spoke up “well I do not know about the castle speaking, though there are rumors of it. But I am pretty sure the castle’s resident ghosts would be more than happy to indulge in a few stories” . He himself had not tried talking to any of the ghosts, but he had seen a few people indulge in idle chatter with the ghosts.
As the professor seemed to accept his words, Jae gave a small nod and chose not to speak up. It was only because of the subject’s relevance to the muggle side was what lead Jae to select the subject. But he did not want to say it out loud, lest he would make the older witch feel bad. But then again he was half telling the truth given that he was usually interested to try out new things, just that they are not related to academics. When Jae saw the sheepish look on the professor’s face he felt himself grin and said “wow, that’s awesome Professor, to add a new subject to ages old curriculum” , his respect for the witch in front of him rose a bit at the small revelation.
