Anna felt bad that she hadn't gone to visit her aunt since she graduated from Hogwarts. The truth was, the summer flew by a lot more quickly than she expected it to. Fist, with the attack on the Durmstrang and Beauxbatons students, then with getting into a fight with her parents, becoming engaged and planning everything for her wedding, it all became a bit jumbled. Adding on top of that the fact that she was still in the auror training program. She wasn't planning on staying there, but she also didn't really know how to quit or when she wanted to. She was learning valuable things, but she knew she didn't want to actually work there. Even so, she should have visited Aunt Ginny before today, especially since she and Uncle Harry were her favorites. Yes, she knew she shouldn't openly admit that, but it was true. She and Harry were always close growing up and Ginny had somehow become a part of that. So she was stopping by today to see how her Aunt was doing and to talk with her. Hopefully Aunt Ginny was home. She knocked on the door three times and waited. Ginevra Molly Potter

With Lily back at Hogwarts, and her two older boys doing their own thing, Ginny had the whole house to herself. If Harry was here, she was sure that they would be spending the day together, or maybe not. He did work a lot, even more, when the killings started, but Ginny never blamed him. Now, now she was upset with him. He could have stopped all this if he had stayed home, instead he had done the stupid thing and gone out there. He had left her—he had left her again. At the least the first time had been in the form of a breakup for safety, this time was worse. A breakup she could get over, disappearance and presumed dead…she couldn’t She was moving around the house, having cast a spell on the cleaning objects and sent them to work, something she learned from her mother. She rather enjoyed it, but she left the dishes for herself. Why waste a spell on something that could be done in seconds? It was weird, the silence of it all. She missed the sounds of her family moving around, the laughing and talking that was done at the dinner table or in the foyer; she closed her eyes as she imagined it all. That was—until she was pulled from her thoughts by the sound of the door, someone was here. Quickly she dried off her hands and moved towards the door, towel and all. When she opened it, it was the familiar face of her niece, and she smiled. “Anna? What a lovely surprise…what are you doing here?” she questioned, her smile still on her face.

It didn't take long for her aunt to open the door and Anna smiled at her. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything important," she started with a shrug. "I just had the day off and wanted to come and see you." Now that Lily was in school and her cousins were doing ... whatever they were doing, Anna wanted to make sure her aunt was doing all right. "I was thinking we could talk ... or do whatever you want, really," she suggested. She and her Aunt Ginny were kind of close before, but honestly Anna was always closer with Harry. He'd understood last year, with all the pressures of the Triwizard Tournament and before that he'd always been there when she had a hard time dealing with her father. She missed him and she was sure her Aunt missed him even more. Maybe the two of them could bond a little or something. Ginevra Molly Potter

Ginny laughed and shook her head at her niece’s words, “No—you aren’t interrupting anything. I was cleaning, trying to busy myself. I hate when the house is quiet,” she breathed out with a small smile on her face. With her oldest children, out in the world and her youngest still at school, she was used to having the company of her husband to keep her entertained, but here she was, without the one person that kept her going. She knew that Anna and Harry were close, and it was probably affecting her as much as it did with Ginny and her children. They seemed to be more alike than anything. She opened the door wider for Anna to enter, “Come on in,” she said with a smile as the younger girl entered the house and Ginny closed it behind her. “Would you like some tea?” she questioned her niece as she walked towards the kitchen and placed the kettle on the burner and turned it on, grabbing two mugs from the cabinet and placing the tea inside. “So how is work? You’re a...auror…aren’t you? Or are you still in the training phase? How is that going?” she questioned as she turned to address the red-head before her.

Anna smiled when her aunt said she wasn't interrupting anything, saying that she was just trying to be busy. "I think I can understand that," she answered after a moment. Of course, she couldn't understand it entirely since she didn't have any children leaving her, but she could understand feeling alone. She couldn't help but wonder if her parents ever missed with her. Her father probably didn't, but her mother might. Anna stepped into the room after her aunt invited her in. "Thanks," she said with another smile. She was glad to be spending so much time. She nodded. "I'd love some!" She looked around as she walked in. It was no surprise to hear that her aunt was cleaning things up, since the room looked perfect. How lonely was she? Anna decided that she needed to make sure that she visited her aunt more. Anna sat down and shrugged as she waited for the tea. "It's fine. I'm in the training program, but I don't want to stay there. I want to do something else, but I don't know what it is yet. I feel like I'm learning a lot of good things about defense and how to protect myself and fight, but I don't want to be an auror in the end. What do you think?" She looked to her aunt, wondering what she could do. Ginevra Molly Potter

Ginny smiled slightly as Anna mentioned that she thought she could understand what she was dealing with. It made Ginny have a new-found appreciation for her mother, being a stay-at-home mother and all, she was constantly battling with being alone once all her children had left and her husband to work. However, at least, her mother did have her father returning each night for supper, Ginny didn’t even have that since Harry disappeared. Ginny smiled at her niece as she lead her deeper into the kitchen and quickly put the kettle on to warm up some water, grabbing two mugs. “Milk and sugar?” she questioned since she usually put sugar into the mug first before adding the water. She placed two tea bags into the cup, adding sugar to her mug before waiting for an answer from Anna. When her niece mentioned not wanting to be an auror, she turned her attention towards her. “I say follow your dreams…is there something that interests you better?” she questioned. Her son had gone through the same thing, though he had dropped out long before training even started. She did worry about Albus, but she wanted to be supportive.

Ginny seemed a little more quiet than she had in the past, but all in all Anna wasn't entirely surprised by that. Her aunt had gone through so much during the past few months that it was a miracle she was doing as well as she was. That was part of the reason why Anna wanted to be there for her and visit her like this. She didn't want Aunt Ginny to be alone. "Yes please," she answered as they waited for the water to be ready. She smiled when Aunt Ginny told her to follow her dreams and then shrugged a little. "I guess that's part of the problem. I don't know what exactly I'd like to do if not be an auror. I'd like to teach, but I know that you have to spend a few years getting experience in the real world and such before you can even apply to teach at Hogwarts. I can't decide where I'd like to get that experience." Anna shrugged, "You have any suggestions?"

Ginny smiled as her niece agreed to want both milk and sugar and quickly added some sugar to the other mug. She listened as the other red-head started speaking, walking towards the fridge to grab the milk before returning to her previous position. She turned to her niece just as she asked about suggestions for getting teaching experience, “Is there a certain subject you wanted to teach if you applied to Hogwarts?” she questioned. “If you didn’t have one, you could always attempt to teach at a muggle school to get some experience in that area. Or perhaps even go into the field that you want to teach to get some experience in the subject?” she questioned. Just then the kettle went off, and she quickly flipped the switch, filling the mugs with the water before adding the milk. Grabbing spoons, Ginny walked both mugs over to the table and sat one in front of the other girl before sitting down with her mug.

Anna shrugged at her aunt's question when she returned with the drinks. "I've always been partial to charms and transfiguration ... but I don't really know." She laughed, "though I'm entirely certain I can rule out potions." She was terrible at them! Something about the details always tripped Anna up, no matter how hard she tried to be good at following them exactly. It was one of those things she simply couldn't change. "but I know you have to take a few years of experience before you can go to Hogwarts ... I don't know where to find charm experience. Or any kind of experience that would really help, you know? Am I making any sense? Anna felt like she was just rambling, which wasn't altogether new, but she didn't want to just ramble now. Ginevra Molly Potter

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] BUT WE DON'T WANNA GROW UP [attr="class","next"] Ginny shrugged her shoulders, “Charms is interesting, as is transfiguration, though I’ll be honest and say that McGonagall was the perfect teacher for that class. But I’m sure; if you taught that class, you would be as well,” she said with a smile. She later laughed when Anna stated that she was certain she could rule out potions, and she didn’t blame her, that wasn’t her best subject either. Many of the teachers she had while at Hogwarts were gone now, either dead or retired, and it was weird that so many new faces were teaching the classes that were once taught by her favorites. One of her sons was named after the potion teacher that she and Harry shared during their time there. “I don’t blame you there,” she said in an amused manner, and she didn’t. Ginny nodded her head, “Oh yes, I completely understand. Maybe you could talk to a teacher there or even write a letter to McGonagall and ask her the best place to get experience? I’m sure she’ll tell you. Though for charms, maybe working as a training Auror could help? I know that’s more Defense Against the Dark Arts, but you learn some spells…it’s possible she might let you slide?” she said as she brought her teacup to her lips and took a sip of the liquid.

Anna smiled and nodded as her aunt started giving her opinions on Anna's preferred topics in school. "I know. It's like she's the high point to Transfiguration. Everyone knows that no one will be able to meet the bar that she set, but we've gotta try, you know." Anna actually felt pretty honored that she knew the woman her aunt spoke of, since she'd been the Headmistress for Anna's last year at school. Then again, she knew that she didn't know the Headmistress the way her students would have known her. "Thanks though. I'm definitely going to do my best, if I can manage to get a teaching position there someday." She thought she might like teaching. It was just the waiting until she could get there that was killing Anna. What to do in the meantime was the main question. She grinned and nodded when her aunt agreed with her on potions. Anna's eyes widened at her aunt's suggestions. "Oh those are great ideas!" she enthused. How could she not have thought of any of that. She could definitely ask Madame Macmillan, and she would like to write to the Headmistress as well. "I can't believe I didn't think of writing someone and asking what they suggested." She smiled as she thought it through a little more, though her smile fell a little when her aunt suggested maybe staying in Auror training. Then she shrugged, "Maybe. I'll have to see what they suggest. Maybe there are all sorts of things I could do to help me qualify for a position there someday." Now that she was getting ideas- thanks to her aunt- Anna actually felt a bit excited about it all, which was nice. Ginevra Molly Potter

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] BUT WE DON'T WANNA GROW UP [attr="class","next"] Ginny laughed, nodding her head “Of course, Professor McGonagall would be proud of whoever moved on to teach that subject,” she said truthfully. While Anna herself didn’t know the professor as well as those that had been under her care of Transfiguration in the time that Ginny was there, she was lucky to know the woman. Ginny would be damn sure if McGonagall weren’t a good Headmistresses, just like Dumbledore had been during her time there – rest his soul. “I’m sure you’ll do great,” breathed Ginny truthfully, she was proud of her niece and all that she strived to do. Teaching the next generation of witches and wizards would surely be a great honor. Ginny let out a soft chuckle as the red-headed girl before she let her eyes grow wide and she enthused of never thinking of doing such a thing, musing that she couldn’t believe that never came to mind. “I’m sure it would have eventually. But you should do that; I’m sure they got their experience somewhere,” she said with a smile on her face. Ginny nodded her head, “I’m sure there are. And perhaps some suggestions that you’ll enjoy that won’t be too boring to get you to where you need to be,” she said with a smile on her face. She was glad that her niece was striving for bigger and better things and not letting herself be tied down to something she surely didn’t enjoy. If you don’t appreciate your work, your job and life will always be sad.

Anna smiled, glad that another one of her aunts seemed to approve of the idea that she had of wanting to teach at Hogwarts someday. The only issue was how to get the experience required to work there, but she thought she had that figured out. "Thank you. I really hope I can get it to work out." That was kind of an understatement, but Anna didn't really care. She was sure she'd be able to figure out some way to get the necessary experience to be able to teach. She could do this. She smiled as Ginny told her she would have thought of it eventually. "Yeah, but you helped that happen much faster. Yes, I think I will write and see how they all got the experience to apply for their jobs as professors." Anna nodded firmly, glad that she had a game plan now. She always felt more comfortable when she knew where she was going and what she needed to do. "So how is your job going at the Daily Prophet?" Anna asked, wanting to make sure she asked after her aunt instead of only talking about herself. Ginevra Molly Potter

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] BUT WE DON'T WANNA GROW UP [attr="class","next"] Ginny smiled at her niece, “You are very welcome my dear. And don’t worry too much about it, it’ll all work out fine. Your determination will get you fair in life,” she said with the same smile on her face. It was true though, Ginny had a determined spirit, and it had gotten her far. Both through her teen years and her adult life. She had been determined since she was old enough to speak, or so she was told – and now, she was determined to get her husband back and her memories. In the end, hope wasn’t the only thing that you could do. As the girl now had a game plan, thanks to Ginny’s quick thinking and idea, she was excited for her niece to be able to do something she was interested in. That was all that Ginny cared about – caring for a job lead to happiness in life. She hoped her children would do the same, find something they care and love instead of gaining acceptance from family. When asked about her job at the Prophet, she smiled, shrugging her shoulder. “Oh, you know, the same old same old. But I keep myself busy, and that’s all that matters,” she said with a soft laugh leaving her pink lips.

Anna couldn't help but be relieved when Ginny said that it would all work out. Anna did believe that, when she thought about it. The problem was that she wasn't normally thinking about how things would turn out all right. She was too busy thinking about the moment and about how things were working out right then. It was nice to have someone close to her that was giving her perspective, and definitely something she needed. She felt more calm, now that she'd gotten everything off her chest and Anna found herself ready to listen to whatever her aunt wanted to say. Anna smiled as she talked about doing the same old thing and keeping herself busy. "Yeah, it's a little harder to do that as an adult than it was as a student," Anna commented even though it wasn't necessarily true. Training to be an auror, she was super busy and hardly had time for anything, but it felt different than being a student. Huh. It was mostly just different. "Maybe not," she added after a second. "I don't know what I'm saying." Anna laughed, feeling silly but also feeling like it was all right since she was with family. Ginevra Molly Potter
