Hugo stood outside the door to the Great Hall, looking through the students and trying to spot anyone who looked confused. There were so many new students attending Hogwarts this year that it wasn't just the first years that needed help. There might be some seventh years that didn't know they were headed and he kind of felt like it was his responsibility to try and help them, especially since he had a free period first thing today.
He thought he saw someone that might need a little help. She looked a bit younger, maybe a fourth or a fifth year, but not young enough that she'd really want to ask for directions. He stepped forward, an easygoing smile on his face. "Hey, I'm Hugo. Do you need any help getting anywhere?" Hopefully she wouldn't be offended that he was asking. Oh well. If she did, then he'd just move on and find someone else.

Annika hated not knowing things, be it simple little things in classes to bigger things such as finding her way without getting lost. Not knowing where she was or where she was meant to go, well - she certainly hated that. It made her feel smaller than she was, giving her a feeling of unease and worry. And right now boxed in around so many other people she didn't know - yet again more things she didn't know was the majority of who these new people were. She felt the panic in her build, it must have shown on her face. The worry - the fear maybe. But someone noticed and approached her.
He didn't seem bad, his smile was easy - friendly and it filled her with an instant relief as she nodded her head slightly, her redhair falling into her eyes, "I-I'm Annika. I have no idea how to get to the Library from here, I was going to go there and look up a few things and I was going to go with a friend of mine but she decided to change her mind and... " she trailed off with a small sigh, her arms crossing over her chest, almost hugging herself in a form of comfort.

The girl looked ... a little nervous, so Hugo gave an easy smile. He didn't want to make anyone nervous and figured that if they talked for a minute at least she'd realize that talking to him was no big deal. "Nice to meet you Annika," he answered with a nod once the girl finished talking. Man, she seemed almost anxious and definitely out of her element. "No worries, I can help you out. I'll show you where the library is." He started walking slowly, gesturing for her to join him. "I'm actually supposed to be helping people get around right now," Hugo confessed as he tried to put her at east. "You see, I'm the new Head Boy here, so it's kind of my job." His nose scrunched a little on the last word. Hugo didn't particularly like helping people as a responsibility. He would have been happy to help just because he could, like last year with Peyton Bainbridge, but whatever. Maybe knowing he was an authority figure would help her feel more comfortable? Or it could make it worse. Drat. Well, he'd just have to see.
