Desi want really one fit getting emotional about things, but she was taking a walk to clear her head of the frustrations she was feeling. All because of that little piece of... Work, Maryn King. She was turning the spiders into various sizes rocks and chucking them out windows or skipping them across the lake. Desi wanted to wring the little badgers neck. The only problem was, Desi wasn't very hands on with her evil. Sure, she wanted to watch the mudblood world burn as much as the next girl, but she was no Elaine. Where was the fun in just murdering people off?
Desi preferred dealing with people in a... Classier manner. She wanted to be able to control them. She wanted to have an army of zombies, for lack of a better term. She wanted the world in the palm of her hands. The only problem was, blackmail wasn't that easy anymore. People were braver than they used to be and people didn't have as many dark secrets. Everyone was innocent and noble. Frankly, it made Desis life rather boring.
Didn't people have affairs anymore? Or date their teachers? Or even cheat on tests in class? Barely. She was in a school full of goody two shoes with heroic issues. Pathetic. She had nothing to work with here! People were a lot more scandalous in France. Oh, the crazy antics of the French! She could have the whole country bowing to her in less than three months. She had to stop thinking about it though, it was making her homesick. All those easy to shape minds, foolish fears and frivolous affairs. Life was so easy back then and fun.

Aurora ran a hand through her hair. One minute she was Lestrange royalty and the next, she was walking on eggshells trying to keep everything from turning completely upside down. But seeing as everything in her life was complicated, well, it was completely impossible to avoid. She just didn’t fit into the life she had grown up in. It wasn’t really anyone’s fault, Aurora just ended up different at some point.
The brunette sat by the fire with a book opened up in her lap. She really wasn’t reading. Instead her blue eyes were glued to the fire. From this point on, Aurora would have to plan everything out, making sure not to cause too much commotion. Drama and tension were a few things she wanted to avoid. So far, anything that happened while she was gone, was a secret and at the moment, all contact with James was at a halt. She was back to being a perfect pureblood princess. The brunette just wasn’t sure how long she would last before her rebelling would begin again. She no longer held respect for her father’s ideals and if it hadn’t affected so much already, she’d show it proudly. What Aurora could use at the moment was a drink. Sadly, Hogwarts didn’t allow such a thing to the students.
The girl closed her book and put it to the side before she rose up and headed out. She couldn’t sit any longer, she had to move, she was beginning to feel closed in. The brunette avoided as much attention as possible. She ignored the glares, the whispers and the fear. There was no way around it. It was happening everywhere. If they weren’t talking about her or showing their dislike, they were incredibly scared and would stand as far as possible from Aurora. It was annoying to say the least.
“Looks like you have a bit on your mind." Aurora found herself saying to a fellow Ravenclaw in her year. Aurora didn’t speak much but she knew of this girl. They practically ran in the same circles. The girl crossed her arms over her chest and leaned up against the cold wall. She wasn’t sure what compelled Aurora to speak to the girl. Maybe it was because she was someone “safe” to talk to or because she was probably the last person to suspect Aurora. Heck, Aurora was pretty sure the girl couldn’t care less about the situation.

Desi was too lost in her thoughts at first to even notice Aurora acknowledge her, "Huh?" she said, before snapping back into reality and realizing what the girl had said. "Oh, yes. Quite a lot. Some little Hufflepuffs giving me a hard time," she immediately plastered her normal smile onto her face and rolled her eyes at the thought of Maryn. Desi stopped pacing to lean against the wall beside her fellow Ravenclaw. Aurora Lestrange, what a fun story. Desi knew that most people suspected Aurora for the killings going on at Hogwarts, the thought made Desi laugh. Desi knew exactly who it was! It was her best friend, Elaine. See, Desi is the Bellatrix to Elains Voldemort. The two are practically inseparable. The only difference is, Desi pretends to be everyones friends while she secretly spies on people with her spiders and blackmails people behind their backs. She found that to be much more fun that galloping around killing every mudblood in sight. But, Elaine was Elaine.
"So, I see you're back in school. Glad to be back?" she asked the Lestrange girl. Desi didn't know much about her home life, she didn't think it was worth spying on. But, Aurora did seem back to her old self, timid and as well-behaved as ever. Desi got a good kick out of seeing people get shot down, but she preferred to be the one pulling the trigger. Whatever had caused Aurora to get back in her shell, Desi admired that. Desi didn't have anything against Aurora, or really any pureblood, but she sure loved to watch people burn, not matter who they were.

Aurora seemed to catch her fellow Ravenclaw off guard. The girl looked at her and nodded. “People are quite annoying, are they not?” She asked. The brunette knew all about people giving them a hard time no matter who it was or what it was on. It was never ending and lately Aurora was the topic some would take. Aurora crossed her arms over her chest and leaned herself head against the stone wall. Aurora had no idea who Desi was or who she was connected with, but at this moment, anything of the sorts, didn’t really matter. If she had the lack of compassion, she’d definitely live up to the rumor. But since she was kinder and more for helping people, she didn’t act on it. But she sometimes wished she could give them something to actually talk about except accusations.
The brunette looked over at Desi. “Oh yeah, being back in an atmosphere that once use to ignore my being to accusing me for ridiculous acts to gain an air of importance for a few seconds is way awesome.” She nodded with a flat face and a bit of a sarcastic tone. “You’d think they’d pick someone more fitting other than having a pureblood last name.” Aurora noticed she was whining and stopped. Communicating was not her thing. After a couple of minutes, Aurora would begin to ramble and feel uncomfortable. “I’m just ready for some change.” She sighed. “Anyways enough of my apparent annoying rambling. “ she said cutting herself off. She never really talk to her or even most people. Small talk was not her thing. “Did you attend the ball?” Aurora didn’t know what other topic to bring up, but the ball tended to be the favorite subject lately. “Or well, um, any ideas on how to fix your Hufflepuff problem?” she decided maybe to take a different route.

Desi like the way that Aurora seemed to agree with her about people. The girl had always been decent to be around, at least in Desis book. Plus, her blood was as pure as Desis, so it really was good company. She was sure Elaine would just love to get the eldest Lestrange girl involved in their antics. However, Desi still wasn't sure if this girl was bad guy material. She kinda seemed like a softy. Pity. That James was probably wearing off on her. "Tell me about it!" Desi groaned, turning full on toward Aurora who now had her complete attention. Lucky her!
Desi nodded, completely focused on what Aurora was saying. That was one of her best qualities, she was a dang good listener. Desi laughed fully at Auroras sarcasm and reached a hand out, touching the girls knee lightly. "Oh, don't listen to them, sweetheart," she rolled her eyes. This school was such a joke! Thinking that this girl could do the things Elaine had done? I mean, where did they get off? They had no respect for power. None. "You can ramble to me anytime, trust me," and Desi meant it. She really didn't mind listening to people. It's what she did all day spying on them anyway.
Desi chuckled again as the girl gave her two topics for conversation. She cocked an eyebrow at her as she decided which to pick, "Eh, the ball was uneventful. But this hufflepuff, oh!" She leaned forward, putting some of her weight on Aurora for a short moment, groaning in annoyance. "She just ruins all my fun. Whatever, so not worth my time!" Desi rolled her eyes. The truth was, Desi was about ready to kill Maryn. But she couldn't say that out loud!

Desi was a lot more social than Aurora seemed to notice in the past. It was a bit odd. Aurora did look at Desi to be a bit more kept to herself. But here it seemed she had no trouble talking to Aurora or getting some what comfortable. “Most are predictable and then the ones that are not are the most frustrating.” She added on. It was the truth. Being predictable was boring and unsettling but the opposite, was just that. Everything was a surprised and half the time, you never like the surprise. Or, people just didn’t paint the prettiest picture in Aurora’s eyes lately.
So Desi was social and touchy. Aurora didn’t move or flintch to the action. She knew not to show her unease. She learned that at home and the many dinners she went to. Never show your true intention. “Easier said than done, Desi.” Aurora gave the girl a look and shrugged. “Good to know.” She nodded. Aurora just won’t be saying much to anyone. She was going to be soon transitioning from pureblood royalty to blood traitor in the next few months. Things were going to get messy afterwards.
Aurora nodded. The ball was dull, though she wasn’t sure what that actually meant. But a Hufflepuff. Aurora knew issues with Hufflepuffs. Just one. At first it wasn’t clear as to why. But rumor had it, the girl hated Ravenclaws on whim. And then the whole Lestrange and Longbottom made things rough, add in the fact that Aurora is practically with James and you get a whole plate of hate from Alice Longbottom. “How does she ruin your fun?” Aurora asked curiously.

Desi kept to herself occasionally, sure, but usually she was out and about making sure everyone knew who she was. Granted, if you didn't interest her right off the bat she probably didn't talk to you. Sure, Aurora was a pure blood, but up until this year the girl hadn't done anything interesting, why would Desi bother with her? Well, she was getting interesting now. Disappearing for several weeks, being the suspect for Elaines murders. Yup, Desi started to take notice. "That's true, but I find those unpredictable ones to be very rare," Desi commented with a chuckle, she knew almost everyones secrets so people were pretty predictable to her. "But isn't the mystery what makes it fun?" she said. True, Desi could be entertained by mystery, but only for so long. Eventually she just had to know.
Desi simply nodded as Aurora acknowledged her offer to listen. Desi just loved hearing all about what was going on in peoples lives. Sure she liked knowing in secret, but it was almost more fun when they came out and told her themselves, without knowing about her. Without knowing that she would no doubt use their story against them. The thought of someone just feeding her their stories on their own almost made her salivate with satisfaction. It didn't get any better than that! So far, though, Aurora was staying as secretive as always. But, Desi was rarely pushy, she would just get what she could out of the conversation.
Desi was loving that Aurora was asking her about her own life. As much as Desi loved listening, she also liked talking about herself. Though, not nearly as much as she liked talking about others. "I'm just trying to play a little trick on her. You know, a prank, and she's taking it so personal," Desi rolled her eyes again and let the last word come out as another groan. "I mean, where do the Huffles get off having no sense of humor? Though, my troublesome girl is not nearly as bad as that Alice," Desi lowered her voice to make it more dramatic. Of course Desi knew about Alices little crush on James and there was no way she would be happy about him spending time with Aurora.

Aurora glanced at Desi. Desi was one of the unpredictable types. Aurora didn’t know her and couldn’t read her all that easily. That was something that shouldn’t bother Aurora but she was a Ravenclaw, she had a thirst for knowledge. “Mystery isn’t fun, destroying the mystery is.” She pointed out. Having a mystery and figuring it was just another puzzle and Aurora loved puzzles, a chance to think, learn and prove. That was something, along with dueling, that were a weakness and an instinct. Aurora dueled like second nature, and her logical mind always took over when a problem presented itself. That was something Aurora could not resist.
Aurora was indeed, secretive. She wasn’t going to let anyone know about her private life. She was quiet and kept to herself. Things were simpler that way. And other than the reason she got pulled out and where she stood with James, there wasn’t exactly anything really interesting with Aurora. She kept to her books and made sure not to socialize too much. She wanted to give no reason to bother her and yet, her last name gave everyone a reason to look at her. Aurora just hated attention, she hated the limelight. She didn’t like being singled out.
The only way to keep people out of her life was to have herself put their life above. Desi seemed to have more to talk about than it. Aurora was quite surprised she made it this far in a conversation, she normally would run by now. But she was keeping herself in place. “Well, I’m not a big fan of pranks either, but I usually brush them off.” She looked down. Aurora only been victim to a prank or two in the last seventh years, she never got the seriousness of it. If you asked any, Aurora held no sense of humor either. The girl rubbed the back of her neck. “I don’t know Alice all that well. So I don’t know if she is or not.” She shrugged her shoulder. Alice stopped liking her in their first year, Aurora was Ravenclaw and she wasn’t. Now Aurora was getting close to James and Alice wasn’t, she could see it, but she didn’t fuel it.

Desi nodded at what Aurora said, "Okay, okay. I can agree that the end result of mystery solving is indeed the best part, but the mystery has to be there in the first place!" Desi said with a wicked smile. She didn't really have to try that hard to solve mysteries-what with having her spiders as spies and all- but if something ever came up that she really had to work for, she most certainly enjoyed the experience. Desi also had a thirst for knowledge but that revolved around collecting peoples secrets. In fact, a little spider recently told her that Aurora was leaving her parents, but Desi wouldn't mention that. No, she wouldn't use it against the girl until she had to. Desi had been fairly bored with Hogwarts and it's secrets lately, but Elaine would make good use of them and for that Desi was glad to keep collecting. Plus, she just loved knowing everything.
Desi was disappointed when Aurora didn't even react to Alice's name. Maybe the brunette didn't know about the blondes little crush on her man friend? No, Desi couldn't tell Aurora that! Or could she? She decided to wait a moment on that one. "Well, I guess that's all right. Pranks aren't everyones thing," she shrugged. In all reality she wasn't tossing pranks at Maryn at all. No, she was trying to blackmail her. But the little Huffle had done ruined her fun and now Desi needed someone else to torture. She cocked an eyebrow at Aurora, "So, tell me, anything fun and new in your life? At least, that you're willing to share of course!" Desi leaned forward, both elbows on her knees, batting her eyelashes.

Aurora nodded. “True. I guess there is a truth to both.” She sighed. Aurora was the most enthusiastic detective. She liked reading and following things out. She didn’t like guess word. But she had to admit. Searching and learning on the way was fun. Give her a book and Aurora could do wonders. But she was in it for pure knowledge, she wasn’t like Desi who was using it for power. Aurora was done with power and the issues revolving it. She lived in a family that held much power gained through unhumane ways causing fear through hundreds that knew the name. Aurora wasn’t that sort of person, she was pure. Was being the key word. Not much can be said about her now, some sort of fight was awake in her since her father confronted her. Her decisions had reason and purpose.
“They are not.” She agreed. Aurora looked over Desi. She was completely interest in her now. It was odd. Aurora wasn’t sure what to spill and how much she could trust with someone who could be considered a stranger in her life. “Fun? I’m rethinking my choice of being a healer. I was thinking maybe a ministry position.” She nodded. She didn’t want to mention being an Auror seeing as that was a large change for someone like herself.
The girl paused for a moment. The whole school already knew something was going on between James and Aurora, it didn't take a Ravenclaw to figure that one out. "I also started seeing James Potter." she shrugged her shoulder. It was still weird saying it. He was the person she was supposed to be avoiding and saying no to, hexing. But here she was doing the exact opposite. She couldn't help herself. James somehow got to her. "That in itself makes life a bit interesting." she laughed.

Aurora was quite an interesting girl, Desi was starting to realize. She wanted to look into her a little more, perhaps send a spider home to the Lestrange house the next time that Andromeda and Aurora were taken out of school, if that happened. Or, perhaps, over Christmas break! Still, she would investigate the charming brunette starting now, for the girl deeply intrigued her. Desi generally didn't even bother looking into purebloods with death eater families, she should have been a lot more wary of those types. She knew for a fact that Scorpius wasn't following in his fathers footsteps, let alone his grandfathers. The boy was plain boring.
Desi smiled at the comment about her future career, clapping a little in celebration at the idea of a ministry position. She didn't say anything, however, for she could tell that Aurora was going to say something next. She waited until James's name had come out of her lips. Desi already knew this, of course, but there was some joy in hearing about it from the girl herself. "Aw, that James Potter. Quite a catch, isn't he?" she chuckled. She was sure that it would be interesting dating James... Desi and he had never fooled around in the past, for they had quite different tastes, but she had heard about some of his more exciting antics. "Amazing that you got him to settle down. Tell me, was that difficult?" she batted her lashes and leaned forward, interested in what Aurora had to say about that side of Jamesy Poo.

Aurora felt torn about telling Desi anything. It was friendly conversation, but she hardly ever talk to the girl and her attention was so locked on her, it made her want to shut down. Aurora and attention only have two things in common, the ‘o’ and the ‘a’. The girl smiled lightly at Deis and thought about it. “He is quite something.” She agreed with Desi. He was more than something, he was Aurora’s something. It was something weird to think about but it was fact. She somehow broke James Potter, the biggest flirt on Hogwarts was only looking at her. It was quite a feet to achieve. The brunette, “But don’t tell him that, he won’t let me live it down.” She giggled a bit and covered her mouth. Talking was getting easier but she still felt awkward and felt a need to leave.
The girl looked at Desi a bit surprised. It was something everyone was wondering, but they never had directly asked her about it. “I don’t know if he is completely settled down, I mean we are just seventeen. Settle down sounds like something completely grown up and set in stone.” The girl hesitated, “And we just started dating, who knows how long it’ll last.” The girl shrugged a bit and played with her cuticles. Aurora was hoping it would last a lifetime, but to predict that, she'd be a seer. She just felt incredibly lucky to get an opportunity to live a little. “The difficult thing was trying to get him to leave me alone when he first insisted we should start spending some time together.” The girl thought back to their meeting in the library. Aurora was fully aware of the existence of James Potter, yet, he knew nothing about her, even her name. “I gave in at the end, obviously.” She smiled.

Desi laughed lightheartedly as Aurora told her not to mention anything to James. He was quite big headed, that one. At least, on the outside. Desi knew what he was like behind closed doors. The way that he was so insecure at times, and how he was amazed that a girl like Aurora would be interested in him. Still, Desi was impressed with the way James stood up for Aurora. She had been informed of Jamesys little conversations with Abby and Alice and both times James as very brave. Desi admired that, to an extent. She didn't mind brave people in the least, as long as she could take them down.
Desi nodded and listened intently as Aurora explained the nature of their relationship. She was right, of course. Seventeen year olds weren't really set in stone. Desi couldn't imagine being set in stone ever, but that wasn't important. What was important was the way Aurora spoke about James's endless pursuit, and how she had eventually given in. "Awe, I see now. James rarely pursues someone for the long term, it seems, so you are quite lucky that he had the patience to wait for your... consent?" she chuckled as she struggled to find the appropriate word. "Still, your parents must be quite livid about it. I know mine would be," she rolled her eyes, frowning a little as if the thought of her parents was bothersome, "dating a Potter. Practically a sin in families like ours," Death Eater families.

Auora covered her mouth and giggled. “I wouldn’t use the word consent.” Aurora sighed happily. “He just waited for me to be okay with idea, I guess, if that puts it in a better light.” She nodded. The brunette glanced at Desi, “But you’re right, I know his reputation, it’s quite unbelievable that he started this in the first place.” Even after he learned her name and connected the family history. James still wanted something to happen between them, though at that time, he didn’t exactly know her, he just saw her and went for it. But even after the long study hours spent together and the few moments outside of the books, James was still there, waiting for her to jump. IN the end, Aurora ended up trusting him and was too concern about his reputation and it’s relation to him and her now.
And there it was, a topic Aurora hated thinking about. “My father is furious, while my mother, well my mother is just worried.” Aurora told Desi carefully as she thought about it, “They probably think I’m going through some phase and by the time graduation comes around, I would be over it.” The girl shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes. James was definitely a sin in Aurora’s life, but in all honesty, it didn’t matter anyone. The paper work was filled out and given to Hermione and Aurora was on her way to becoming an independent person. “What about you Desi? What is your love life like?” she smiled at the brunette, “Anyone you fancy currently?”

Desi giggled along with Aurora as she disagreed with the word 'consent'. Desi wasn't entirely sure what word to use in the first place, so the disagreement was justified. Aurora Lestrange was quite starstruck, it seemed, and Desi couldn't help but fake a dreamy smile along with the girl as she continued to speak of James Potter and the unbelievable nature of his settling down. Potter was brave, Desi couldn't deny that. Granted, it simply made her want to mess with him even more. But since the relationship was out in the open, there wasn't much Des could do at this point.
Desi nodded, understandingly, as Aurora explained the situation with her parents. "Well, you know how they can be. Parents can be oh so overbearing at times," she chuckled with a light laugh. The truth was, Desi and her parents got along smashingly, but she wasn't about to go and tell Aurora this. No, Desi was trying to relate to the girl, in the name of fun, at least. "They'll learn to love him, I'm sure," she pushed further, knowing this wasn't the case by any means.
As Aurora asked about Desi's love life, the french-born girl simply let out a laugh, "oh dear. I daresay I'm about as bad as your James used to be," but the truth was Desi was much worse. James was a snogging whore back in the day, sure, but Desi did... much more than that and with whoever was willing... or maybe not. "I struggle choosing one person to fancy, it seems. But, I'm not quite ready to reform to decency just yet," she winked with a small giggle.
