SEVENTH YEAR 2022/2023
With twilight washing over the clouds of Hogwarts, the early evening had been a stressful moment for Edrik Krum. With the pressure on his shoulders as a captain for his team to succeed against Hufflepuff, Edrik remembers the intense training he put his team members through for the past weeks as well as the many practice games he put them up for. Ever since beating Slytherin in the previous weeks, the game between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor was highly anticipated. As a captain, Edrik had to plot his team-mate’s moves carefully, especially since Hufflepuff had a new captain Tamara Finch.
Edrik heard word of the Finch girl before, instantly feeling his heart slow whenever he saw her in the halls of Hogwarts, or even stuttering his sentences when the two spoke. Outside of Quidditch, people could assume the two were friends, but within the Quidditch matches itself, they butted heads severely. He remembers the multiple times the two would argue because Gryffindor’s training fell into Huffle’s schedule or even vice versa.
Though, the Krum boy paid no mind to it. After all, Quidditch was just a simple but an addictive game. Or so Edrik would like to think. Graduation was just a few months away and Edrik’s obsession with Quidditch allowed him to dream for it to be his potential future too. In the mood to speak to his younger sister Iliana, with his hands stuffed in his pockets, the Krum boy walked through the corridors hazel coloured eyes scanning the doors he walked past. Being housed in Gryffindor, Edrik had no reason to know where Hufflepuff’s common room remained nor was he even sure if he could enter.
Turning another corner, Edrik looked down one hall before looking at the other, groaning in confusion as he questioned himself if he walked in a circle. But the sight of familiar brunette hair caught his eye thus pushing his feet into the direction of the person. ”Tamara! he called out. | 328 words >> notes: hopefully this works! |

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] I POUR MY HEART INTO YOUR HANDS [attr="class","next"] MARCH 2023 Being graced with the ability to be the captain of the Hufflepuff team, Tamara felt the pressure that pushed down on her. She was voted, out of all the fellow players that remained once the previous graduation had ended, that would become the person that lead them to victory or went down as the worse captain in the history of Hufflepuff captains. She felt the pressure, which was maybe why practice was taken seriously when it came to Tamara’s expectations, and people didn’t mind it. It was still fun, and with the new students that joined the team, they enjoyed her captain skills. She had high hopes for the games they would play. One of her fellow friends, Edrik Krum, was the captain of the Gryffindor team and sometimes Tamara found herself not being able to wait until they played against each other, wanting to win to rub it in his face – of course, the two were friends. She had already done this once within the school year, and Hufflepuff had won some and lost some so far. However, after what happened to Ethan and then their breakup, plus everything that was happening in her life – she felt like her love for Quidditch had been tainted. She found practice too much for her sometimes, but she pushed through it. Wandering down a corridor, Tamara was dressed in her robes, wandering to the common room. She was lost in thought about her past, her future, and the loss that she had felt. Losing her brother, then almost losing Ethan – before breaking up – it took a toll on the young brunette. Maybe she had gotten herself into a mess that she shouldn’t have, maybe her sister was right – perhaps graduation would turn over a new life. ‘Tamara! The sound of her name leaving familiar lips had her spinning to address them, a part of her hoping it was Liam – the guy she was secretly dating. It wasn’t, much to her dismay, but she still plastered on a smile. Would Edrik question her about how she was doing after Ethan’s attack and their semi-messy breakup that many people had heard about? “Hey Edrik…what are you doing down this corridor?” she questioned with a raised eyebrow.
TAG @edrik NOTES hope you don't mind me giving it a month, helps me keep it straight since some shit hit the fan during her final year! meaning they are t-minus 2 months away from graduation! ”I was in fact…Looking for you.” He huffed as he came to a stop, his hands resting by his side. To Edrik, Tamara was a good friend of his and definitely his long-lived crush. He remembered the first time he set eyes on the Finch girl and even while Edrik had dated other girls – the crush never died. But the Krum refused to ever let his crush cloud his judgment around her or even his emotion. Okay, maybe just a little. The smile that welcomed Edrik in resulted with a small smile touching the corners of Edrik’s own mouth before he spoke once more. ”Are you okay lately?” While the two were good friends, Edrik hated to pry in other’s lives unless he was involved / told to. Words about Tamara had spread throughout the school, with the murmurs of her breakup with Ethan and his attack hitting sky high, Edrik could do nothing but worry about her.
”I…Heard what happened. I just wanted to ask if everything’s alright and somehow distract you with some Quidditch talk.” While it was true that Edrik wanted to be a good friend, a good Captain was also at the back of his mind and the memory of Hufflepuff taking up some of Gryffindor’s training time was no good. It hadn’t happened before but as of lately it happened quite often. It was starting to annoy the Krum – was Tamara simply not paying attention to the time? – But he didn’t want to come off as too harsh, considering her recent events.
@tamara & thats fine by me! helps me kind of create a date for the tia/edrik timeline

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] I POUR MY HEART INTO YOUR HANDS [attr="class","next"] Tamara found herself raising her eyebrow at the curly haired Krum before her. He was looking for her, and the huff that followed his words made her fear that it wasn’t a good sign. Had she been running practice over into their time? Probably – but she needed a distraction and practicing did so. Did she accidentally fuck him over because of going into their practice time? Another plausible thing, but she was sure they would manage. She crossed her arms over her chest for comfort and stood tall as she looked at him. “Oh?” she questioned, her voice coming out soft and almost sounded like a squeak. And then came the question about if she was okay, and while the two of them were good friends, she was sort of tired of it. Yes, she had watched someone she cared deeply for die before her eyes, her ex-boyfriend Ethan, but she was tired of the pity and the questions of her sanity. She was trying though, to get back to normal – and was probably failing – but she plastered on a fake smile and nodded, “Yeah…I’m okay,” she breathed out. He had heard what happened, hadn’t everyone? It was the talk of the school since it happened, and she found herself swallowing. “Speaking of that – hey, listen, I’m sorry our practice has been going into yours. I find it easy to distract myself when I’m on the field; I’ll make it up to you. Next time you practice before us, which I think there are a few days, you can totally go into our training time, and I won’t get pissed.” she said, swallowing once more.

Edrik noticed the changes in Tamara Finch quite easily. While his good friend / enemy on the pitch sported a smile, the hunch the Krum had wouldn’t be shaken off easily. ”I know you’ve probably heard this…A thousand times by now. But if you need to talk, I’m here for you.” While Edrik knew that what Tamara needed was probably not hundreds of people showing their condolences, the protectiveness in the Krum somewhat kicked in. He simply couldn’t help it. ”But I’m glad you’re doing fine.” He stated in a slight whisper, a grin on his lips while his hand rested on his friend’s arm. The Krum considered giving his friend a gentle squeeze but instead went against it, removing his hand from her arm and resting it by his side.
As the topic shifted however, Edrik’s brows raised in realisation; for the original reason he had been chasing the Finch girl this whole time. ”It’s happening quite often now though Tamara…” He sighed, his hand reaching up to the back of his head to lightly scratch the area. Most times when the subject was around Quidditch and how Tamara needed to stop taking up Edrik’s time, the Krum somehow fell into a trance with her words. Whether or not it was his realisation of his crush on the Finch kicking in or not, Tamara had this certain charm to her that Edrik knew he couldn’t explore. ”That would…Be nice though. Thanks.”
Edrik sent a smile in her direction, hoping to prove he was still the warm but determined Captain as ever. The male cleared his throat gently, his eyes scanning the hallways they stood. ”Are you…hungry by any chance?” The question was simple but the meaning behind it was meaningful. He wanted to give Tamara the time she deserved either to clear her chest or simply enjoy a meal with a friend-enemy.

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] I POUR MY HEART INTO YOUR HANDS [attr="class","next"] ‘I know you’ve probably heard this…A thousand times by now. But if you need to talk, I’m here for you.’ He was right; she had heard it a thousand times which had resulted in her going to the counselor a bunch of times in the past couple of weeks. While she had broken up with Ethan before his death before her eyes and had been secretly dating Liam within that time, she still felt hurt by his death. She had known death in the form of her brother’s passing, but seeing the light leave someone’s eyes was horrible, especially someone she loved. Yes, she didn’t love-love him, but she loved him as a person, he was her friend, and he was dead. She smiled lightly and nodded her head, “Thank you,” she whispered in a soft voice. However, when the topic shifted because of her words, he was quick to sigh that it was happening a lot. She knew it was, it had happened the past couple of weeks, and she felt horrible. Perhaps she needed to take a step back and just practice here and there, maybe take practice elsewhere. She nodded, sighing in defeat as she looked down at her feet, “I know—I’m sorry, I promise…next practice we will be gone before you get there,” was said softly from her lips. With the conversation of her failure at Quidditch practice, he questioned if she was hungry, causing her attention to flicker up towards him. She swallowed, smiling lightly, “I could eat…if I’m honest,” she said with a soft laugh ringing from her lips.

Edrik was usually bad at comforting another person, as evident from his younger sister’s tales – but he always felt bad whenever the situation evolved around the Finch girl. Edrik could tell that no matter what she had said, heard or done, Tamara would probably never be the same or at least find difficulty in taking somebody else’s comfort into consideration. Although, the Krum found himself nodding lightly as she nodded too, his hands stuffing into his robes.
”Thank you.” He stated, finding himself repeating it. Though, with the fall of the conversation around Quidditch, Edrik felt a smile touching his lips as he nodded. ”Uh, great-great!” He repeated, scratching the back of his head lightly. ”Anything in particular or just whatever the Great Hall conjures up?” He asked. ”That is, if you want the company.” He added.

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] I POUR MY HEART INTO YOUR HANDS [attr="class","next"] So much had happened to Tamara Finch in such little of time that she was about to explode. A friend had offered the idea of going to the counselor that was on the castle grounds or even getting in contact with a therapist for when she left behind Hogwarts. She would likely do the latter, but she wasn’t sure. Her life was just turned upside down, and she hated it, her life had fallen into shambles. She had loved and then lost only to find love again, and while Liam helped distract her from the world around them, guilt filled her being. She should have stopped Elaine and saved Ethan, shouldn’t have ended things so abruptly. Hell, even kissing Liam had been a bad idea, but the spark that came with it drew her closer and closer to him. Quidditch helped ease her mind, and when she wasn’t practicing, she was preparing for graduation. Her mother and father would be attending the ceremony, the first time they’d be allowed to visit the grounds of Hogwarts and the last. Both she and her sister were graduating, and it had yet to sink in fully. His thanks forced a nod of her head and a soft smile to play on her colored lips. Her makeup was minimal today; she was always a girl that liked a natural look if she wasn’t on the field getting sweaty. “I’m down to see whatever the Great Hall conjures up…unless you have something in mind?” she questioned with a raised eyebrow. She smiled, “You’re my friend, Ed, of course, I’d want your company,”

Not having the best kind of words to comfort the Finch girl, Edrik couldn't help but press his lips into a thin line, dark eyes observing her. Personally, Edrik had never lost someone so close to him, aside from a few aunts and even uncles who died unexpectedly but were once close with the Krum at his younger age. He had heard of many rumours regarding Tamara's situation, hell - ones he refused to believe considering how insane they sounded. Nevertheless, regardless of what others muttered, he was there for the Hufflepuff.
Edrik shook his head, his plans to cheer up the Finch girl was simply to treat her to a trip to the Great Hall - planning to stuff his own face amongst many others. "Nothing except a hearty meal." He stated with a wide smile, his hands pressing against his empty stomach. "Unless...You like stars? A trip to the good ole Astronomy tower is also good to clear someone's mind." It was an offer that the Krum didn't mind if she refused. With a few friends who were astronomy nerds, he was able to see anything up in that tower after class hours. "Whew thank god." He responded, exaggerating it as he pretended to swipe away sweat above his brow.

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] I POUR MY HEART INTO YOUR HANDS [attr="class","next"] ‘Unless...You like stars? A trip to the good ole Astronomy tower is also good to clear someone's mind.’His words sent her body into a frenzy, her mouth frozen and her eyes were looking far away. A memory popped into her head just then, of her and Ethan on a date, how he had taken her to the astronomy tower where he had prepared the perfect place for them to hang out. Of course, he had shown her a star, one that she had never seen before, and he revealed that he had named it after her. She remembered how happy she was to be with him, how that place had become the perfect place for them to get away. She had loved astronomy, but that had died with him. She swallowed, finally coming back from the memory of that night and quickly shook her head, brunette curls bouncing with her as tears threatened to spill from her eyes, she felt them stinging, but she didn’t let them release. She swallowed, cleared her throat and plastered on a fake smile, “I think I’ll pass on a trip to the tower if that’s alright with you?” she questioned, her voice sounding foreign and pained, but she didn’t care. A true giggle, however, left her lips when he swiped away at his forehead as if he were sweating, she had seen him do it countless times after a game, but she knew now that it was for show. She smiled lightly, “Great—then it’s settled, let’s go get some food,” she said as she began walking down the hall and in the direction it took to get to the Great Hall.

Uncertainty and anxiety were two things Edrik Krum was usually able to pick up upon rather well. He watched as how the Finch turned quiet, a sour expression on her face as he observed how her mouth stilled, pressing together as if the only thing she could do was breathe. Instantly, the Krum felt guilty, the smile on his face disappearing and instead filling the air with their silence. He wanted to speak – grasp at some kind of words but he didn’t want to make Tamara feel anymore uncomfortable. So when she spoke instead, he felt a little relieved.
”O-Of course!” He stammered, forcing a smile upon his lips. ”I-I’m sorry for even offering it…I hope I didn’t offend or irritate you…In any way.” That was definitely the last thing Edrik was trying to do. He noted the tone of her voice too, how pained she sounded. But in a way didn’t want it to be rather creepy of how analytical Edrik was being, but he truthfully cared for Tamara. ”Any cravings in mind?” He asked, smiling in her direction as he walked alongside her in the direction of the Great Hall.
The Great Hall was one place that Edrik loved to find himself in. Reasons being: Food, atmosphere, friends…The whole lot. A smile returned to the Krum’s lips, especially as she giggled at his attempt to cheer her up. It was nice, seeing her happy and smiling – something he hadn’t seen her doing for a long time. ”I’m currently dying…For chicken.” He muttered, puckering his lips in the direction of the fancy smells the Great Hall gave off.

And I’m not offended or irritated by you asking. It was a nice gesture, but—I have a memory of that place that I want to avoid,” she said softly. She had kissed Ethan for the first time up there, after he had shown her the star named after her and she couldn’t face that memory, not yet. “Really—don’t feel bad about it.” she added with a soft smile on her face. Luckily, it was dropped when he asked her what cravings she had in mind, and she looked at him shyly. “Is it bad that I’m craving dessert more than actual food?” she questioned with a soft laugh, tucking a loose curl behind her ear. “Treacle tart,” she added in a soft whisper as if saying it out loud was something that shouldn’t be allowed. He revealed that he was dying for chicken and she laughed lightly, “A ham sandwich or roast chicken sounds good about now as well,” she said with a smile.

The gentle touch on his shoulder was enough for Edrik to flush red and definitely enough to keep the Krum stuttering just a tad longer. ”I understand.” He mumbled softly, feeling bad for even offering up the idea in the first place. It was dumb, definitely something the Krum knew he shouldn’t be doing. Looking at their friendly exchange as potential for something more. The Krum shook his head, knowing he was being completely and utterly stupid, especially in the Finch's situation, the last he wanted was to drive her away. He actually enjoyed her company.
"Ha...It was just stupid of me to even suggest it. Hence why I feel bad." But when the conversation shifted, Edrik couldn't help but grin. He was pretty much the King of desserts in his household. Sticky toffee puddings were his secret guilty spot. "Lucky for you, I eat my puddings before the actual meal." It was a bad habit he developed as a child and was always scolded for - but it never stopped the male. Why should it? Edrik caught the whisper Tamara said and felt himself grinning. "Treacle tarts are the worst thing to exist." He began. "Unless you have it hot...with ice cream too." Edrik didn’t really enjoy most deserts apart from sticky toffee pudding but likes to believe he’s not necessarily picky either.
”Then let’s go a little…faster!” God, he was starving. When the two arrived at the Great Hall, the Seventh year noticed all the empty gaps in between the other house’s tables. While Edrik was in Gryffindor and Tamara in Hufflepuff, he decided to leave the decision of where the two would eventually sit up to her. Instead, he followed the direction his nose pulled him towards. The sweet smells of roasted dinners and puddings galore. Each table was filled with it.

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] I POUR MY HEART INTO YOUR HANDS [attr="class","next"] She shook her head, “It wasn’t stupid—” she started, but quickly shut her mouth. It was the end of that side of the conversation; she did not want to dwell on it any longer. She felt bad that he felt bad for offering or thinking he was stupid even to suggest it and she wanted to take away that feeling, but she also didn’t want to continue talking about the tower. Given time, perhaps she could, but it that would probably be long after graduation. She laughed, shaking her head, “Tia and I used to sneak cookies to our room before dinner. Got caught once…never did it again,” she said with a soft laugh, before looking down at her fingers. She hadn’t spoken to Tia in forever, not since she started dating Ethan and joined Phoenix Rising. They had a falling out and were semi-civil with each other around others and their parents, but they avoided each other. Luckily, they wandered in a different crowd and were separated by being different houses, so that was a plus sometimes. She gasped when he told her that treacle tarts were the worst, and she slapped his arm, but she let him continue before she spoke. She shrugged her shoulders, “I do enjoy them hot with ice cream, maybe a glass of warm milk as well…but I don’t mind them as they are,” she said with a smile, “I could kill for a pumpkin pasty though,” she said with a laugh. And then he was telling her for them to go a little faster, and she let out a giggle as she moved her feet more swiftly. She enjoyed spending time with Edrik, especially when off the field where they weren’t rivals. She didn’t realize just how hungry she was until she thought about it, though that might have been because she skipped lunch that day to study in the library. When they arrived, there were some gaps within each table of the different houses, some could only fit a person, and there were others that could fit two people within the group. Usually, meals meant sitting with your respective house, but she didn’t feel like following that rule right now. She followed after Edrik as he seemed to have a plan on where to sit, and she pointed towards a big enough gap at the Hufflepuff table, right in front of where pudding sat. “How about here? If you don’t mind sitting with us Hufflepuffs that is,” she said with a soft laugh.

Edrik shook his head, understanding her slowly from the expression on her face. ”I get it. Don’t worry.” He smiled, trying to reassure her. With the conversation shifting to Tia and Tamara’s past, Edrik felt the smile on his lips drop a little at the mention of the other Finch girl given their difficult situation in the past few months. But to prevent another story going, the Krum felt himself laugh gently. ”Irina and I done the same once. She brought some of Mum’s sticky toffee pudding up to my room…She surprisingly got away with it.” He said, raising a brow as he thought about it.
With his arm hit but protected by his robes, Edrik’s hand lifted to the area, his mouth hung open while dark eyes looked down at the brunette. ”Ow?” He said, feigning pain, letting her continue. ”Warm milk is killer. It’s either really good or it’s killing my insides” He said, his expression turning sour. ”Aside from the toffee puddings, Pumpkin Pasty’s are amazing.” He nodded, agreeing with Tamara.
Now within the Great Hall, with students running past them and Edrik’s nose taking him where the sweet delights hid at, the Krum turned back, nodding at her suggestion. ”I have no problem with any of the Puff’s.” He grinned, both of his brows teasingly raising at her. ”Besides, both Ana and Helena are here too.” He added, legs lifting to slide within the table, resting upon the bench. As he looked down, his eyes raised in surprise, noticing all the different puddings amongst them and the Krum was sure that his mouth was surely watering. ”You know me too well.” He said, looking up at Tamara.
