As a half-vampire, half-witch, Zenevieva Novell had a different upbringing. For most times each month, the Novell ate like a simple human but then came those times where a blood bag was required from her mother’s strange cooler to satisfy her vampiric needs. While she sank her small-like fangs into two small bags, her mother would go through at least nine, causing confusion to the young Novell, leading her to always question why she and her mother were so different. Eventually, Zen knew why.
While Zenevieva was a half-vampire, Lucienne, her mother; was a fully-fledged vampire. The event itself was horrific and indescribable, something her mother claimed not to remember but from the books Zenevieva had read – it seemed incredibly painful. Though, unlike her mom; Zenevieva didn’t have access to super-cool-powers, nor did she think she would ever be able to. But with her pale skin, sharper teeth and thinness, the Novell girl always believed she would stand out and seem different. And she sure did.
Flash forward to her first few moments in Ilvermorny, a school somewhere in North America for Wizards and Witches alike. Many were pureblood and were not open to befriending Zenevieva – which was fine…Everybody had their preferences. Days turned to weeks and weeks into months and soon, Zen realised of her abilities. Those who actually made the effort to approach her seemed to be attracted to her voice, while others during an athletic moment in class were impressed with her skills. Just simple things to her. Even so, the positives somehow outweighed the negatives, like sun-burning rather easily under America’s bright sun, or her inability to turn into her bat, like her mother to avoid her problems especially from the bullies considering they were the main reason Zenevieva kept to herself.
At times, Zenevieva wondered what life would be like as a full-vampire or even as a simple half-blood human/witch. Would it be easier? Or somehow different?
